Meh. Not the country club type. Was invited to a wedding. This place looks good from a distance. Up close you can tell it is lacking.Baseboard trim needs work and cleaning. Door knobs loose. Hinges rusty. Carpets old.For a wedding venue, I would choose someplace else.

Breathtaking all around!Deerfield is very elegant and the golf course is well maintained. Every staff member is friendly, accomodating and respectful. Shout out to the General Manager, Jeff Robinson for creating a wonderful environment at Deerfield!My husband and I got married at Deerfield in Sept 2019. We also celebrated our 1 year anniversary here by arranging a private, outdoor anniversary dinner that was elegant and romantic (and met precautions due to covid-19 pandemic). The entire staff truly goes above and beyond to make each event special.Shout out to Chef Mike, everything he makes is insanely delicious! Some of our favorites are the millionaire bacon, coconut shrimp, brie bites, bacon wrapped scallops, bacon wrapped filet, crab imperial, crab cakes, cheesecake and so many more! Definitely make sure to check out Deerfields sunday brunch, you wont be disappointed!One final note is the golf course. This public course is beautifully groomed to perfection. Make sure to visit the golf pros Mike and Ryan to get tips to improve your game.Thanks for everything Deerfield! We will see you again for our future golf and special events.

Great and challenging course at a good price. Some holes require rappelling gear to hold onto while trying to swing so be ready. Awesome instructors as well, Ive worked with Peter and Michael and they have both helped shave a few strokes off my game. Jeff Robinson is the gm and provided some excellent customer service for a buddy and I recently so all in all a great crew at a great course.

The course is in great shape...HOWEVER...its not fair for women. Our tees are only 10 to 30 yards in front of mens tees. They need to make another set of tees to make it a little more competitive for women. Hence, the 2 star rating. .

The staff is amazing. Specifically Patrick, Elyse, LaMicsha, and Wendy. Their attitude and professionalism was definitely up to par. They made me enjoy my night. It is a great thing to have a staff like them in your establishment.....so please continue encouraging them to keep up the good work.

The atmosphere was excellent especially since its a golf country club. The service attendants were impeccable and menu very good. Easy to get to and mid level views.

I was recently a 2nd shooter at a wedding here and it was incredible. The planned outdoor ceremony was rained out, but the indoor setup did not disappoint! The staff was all amazing, professional and kind. I had a wonderful time and look forward to many more weddings at this venue! 💕

This is the coolest course Ive played on east coast. Breathless views in a bucolic space. Nearly every hole gives you a surprise. First time playing course. Travelled down from central jersey starter hooked my buddy and I up with two old timers that knew the course. Great guys. Club team was professional. Great experience. Hope I can get back down this year.

My daughters wedding was at the Deerfield. Amazing job, attention to detail, great food. Wonderful people to work with.

I really like this course. Not to long, not to short. Open enough where if you hit a bad shot youre not spending a lot of time trying to find it. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all in good shape for early April. There are yardage markers on some of the sprinkler heads. I know a lot of people have some type of GPS these days, but its nice to have them out there. The clubhouse is very nice. One of the nicer ones youll find in the area. Driving range has lots of flags to aim at, although I dont recall seeing a yardage board to let you know how far the flags are. The putting green has actual holes you can putt to. The golf carts have usb ports so you can keep your electronics charged throughout the round. All around, a really solid place to play.

Well-conditioned and fairly priced course. Be advised this is not recommended for novices tree-lined holes with dramatic elevation changes including many sidehill lies will challenge even the experienced player. Together with rather small well-defended greens, this venue is a stern test.

11/7/2020We had our daughters wedding at Deerfield and we could not have been more happy with the whole experience. Jeff Robinson, Michael Lucas, and Alex Lento were simply awesome. Jeff has put together a top notch team. From the beginning Alex was there to answer all of our questions and make suggestions. She was amazing. And Michael was there all night long making sure everything went smoothly. Everyone from the bartender, to the wait staff were very accommodating throughout the evening. There was not one thing that I would have changed about the night. Thanks again everyone. We had a awesome time.

Bar seemed very limited--expected a greater selection/variety from a place I consider a little more upscale than the run-of-the-mill clubhouse bar.

Unfortunately our experience here was dreadful. Management is exceptionally dishonest. Be cautious of doing business here especially with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our situation is currently under litigation. Utterly stunned with the way my fiancé and I were treated. BEWARE!

Beautiful place! Went to a wedding here and it was flawless. Delicious food, great atmosphere.

For the second year in a row, we took my father to Deerfield for the father’s day brunch. We absolutely LOVE the food here. There are endless buffets of everything from smoked salmon, to lamb, to breakfast potatoes, to steak, to fruit, to Belgian waffles (and much much more). They have all you could ever want to eat and more. The highlight though will always be the millionaire bacon. We will most likely be back from father’s day brunch next year!!

It was very nice that the food was excellent

Hard to believe this is a public course. If you are close to this area you cant go wrong. Played in late October and it was perfect. Greens had a perfect pace and were in outstanding condition as was the rest of the course. Great staff, course was packed but the pace of play moved right along for a perfect 4 hour round.

Fun course to play but difficult. A lot of side to side fairways and super fast greens.

Nice venue the food was 10 times better last year and the menu was the same the desserts except the sweet potato or pumpkin cheese cake was stale

Wonderful food and lots of great ambience! We hadnt eaten there in awhile and it was even better than we remembered! Our server was just attentive enough...asking if we needed another drink and came to clear our plates quickly. Didnt have a problem with dishes left on the table or lacking service. Didnt really go after the breakfast stuff, but that sure did look delicious. We went straight to the seafood table and had some salmon and ahi tuna. They have all the fixings for every dish you want. They have a donut wall which looked awesome and they had shrimp and grits (one of my personal faves). We had a couple of Bloody Marys, which were yummy and perked up our palates for the meal to come. And the dessert table was amazing...ice cream from Woodside Creamery and so many lovely looking cakes. They also had a person making dessert waffles to go with the ice cream. They have so many stations that you should take a little stroll to get the feel for how you are going to attack the food. If you havent been there, you should treat yourself to the most awesome brunch!! Your stomach will thank you!!!! And dont forget to get a piece or two of the Millionaire Bacon.....words cannot adequately describe this meat!!!!! YUM!!!

My husband and I loved every moment and detail of our wedding at Deerfield in 2018. This past weekend, we returned to Deerfield for Sunday Brunch. We were welcomed like family, with Michael and Jeff coming to our table to greet us by name, and returning to our table throughout the meal to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Excellent selection of brunch items including a variety of seafood options, as well as fresh omelet, meat carving, and waffle bar stations. We look forward to returning again and bringing our family members to enjoy. Thank you Deerfield, for another wonderful experience! You consistently go above and beyond to make your guests feel important!

My husband and I got married at Deerfield on February 29, 2020 and every single thing about it was PERFECT! Everything from communicating with Angela about booking this venue, to the decor, to the day of staff, PHENOMENAL! My husband and I were so incredibly impressed with the seamless day that Deerfield provided. The food was fantastic! There was a point where a bridesmaid spilled on her dress, and I ripped the bustle in my dress, and Gabby was there in 2 seconds to fix it!! I would 100% recommend getting married at Deerfield. Not one staff member we came in contact with was less than professional and kind. The prices are very reasonable and the experience was priceless! Thank you ALL for hosting our fairytale wedding!

I went to a brunch at the Deerfield Country Club in Oct 2019. It was a beautiful event. That was my first time ever at this club. The grounds are well kept. The ballroom was very nice & clean. Food was fair - I like my food well seasoned. Servers were pleasant.

AMAZING wedding venue! After rescheduling their wedding to a third date.... Michelle and Steve had a perfect day yesterday thanks to everyone at Deerfield!Angela was wonderful! Since the wedding was originally planned for May .... we had an extra 5 months working with Angela. She was helpful, kind and supportive every step of the way in every way possible!Mike and Carmen - our ‘day of the event’ people were amazing! The guidelines they have in place to keep everyone safe during this covid nightmare were implemented in a way that did not destroy the celebration! They met with us to explain the guidelines - and how they were accommodating them. This was very helpful as it enabled us to e-mail our guests and let them know too. The weather was gorgeous so we were able to have the ceremony outside and there were plenty of tables set up on the terrace to allow guests who wanted to stay outside for the cocktail reception to do so. The tables were spaced apart, and we were able to have much smaller groups at the tables... most with only 4 (instead of 8) at smaller tables and 6-7 (instead of 10-12) at larger tables. The increased dance floor size with 6 ft markings on the floor gave guests plenty of space to dance safely, and even though we had to wear masks dancing - it really was fine and we danced all night! The band had a plastic drape in front of them as well. The bartenders were amazing - there never was a line at the bar!Jeff, the General Manager, was even there all evening too making sure Michelle and Steve’s wedding day was amazing!You can’t find a more amazing venue for your special day than Deerfield Golf Club! The entire staff was wonderful to work with. We had our Sons wedding there a few weeks ago. They assigned us an employee to work with us on anything we needed. I believe her name was Gaby, she was wonderful. Also, Carmen, the Manager that evening was always checking with us to see if we needed anything. She was super accommodating with our special requests and worked with us for access to the Kitchen for a special wedding cake. Then, the GM and the F&B Director also came to see us throughout the event to check on us. The room looked beautiful and we cannot say enough nice things about everyone there. Really nice facility for an event such as a weddingThank you for making our kids special day so great.

There is an excellent public golf course here and it is also very popular as a wedding venue.

The Ballroom at Deerfield Country Club was the venue for our wedding reception on Nov 22, 2013. Prior to this event, we worked with their staff who were always gracious, considerate, and helped us with our budget and our desires for the evening event. The staff was flexible in letting my relatives decorate and bring some items over the week of the reception. The event itself was beautiful - the staff was polite, the food was delicious and sound, lightning and the smaller details were all taken care of with excellence. We appreciated the care of Deerfield and the attention they all gave to our special day. We will look forward to returning to celebrate other occasions there.As the bride, I would definitely recommend Deerfield as a place to hold your wedding reception. It is lovely, and they are organized so you can be sure that your event will be like you want desire. They will work with your interests and desires and also help provide some of their own ideas when you get stuck! They help work within the time frame and budget and treat you with respect. We also did our first look pictures on the grounds at Deerfield prior to an evening wedding and were so appreciative of Deerfield letting us use their grounds for this too. We recently had our wedding reception at Deerfield and were so incredibly happy with everything. Angela, Anne and Michael made our day amazing and made sure that everyone was where they needed to be (and as a bride on the big day, you really need this because your brain is all over the place.) From the moment we signed our contract I knew we were in good hands.The reception room was stunning. Glass surrounds the room on 3 sides and at night, it’s breathtaking. Deerfield helped us to create our dream wedding and I would recommend them to any bride.Not only was the organization incredible but the staff was so nice to everyone. Every single person was so helpful to our guests and the FOOD, oh my goodness, the food. It was incredible. I still have guests talking about the appetizers and their meal. We opted for a cheesecake martini bar for dessert, and it was a huge hit!If you are looking for a venue for your big day, stop, because this is it. They truly are amazing at what they do, and will put any bride’s mind at ease.

A little short but challenging with the narrow fairways and elevation changes. Pro shop put us in at the first reduced rate tee time, and then double checked when we made the turn to make sure we werent getting slowed down by the foursome in front of us. And then a beautiful day to boot!

We visited this place for an after funeral lunch. I was impressed. Service and food was all excellent. It was very nice.

We hosted our company employee and family dinner at Deerfield this year. The team including sales manager Claire made sure all the details were planned from the cocktail hour to the dinner itself. When our head count shifted up and down she was helpful to make suggestions to things we could add or remove to keep the event on budget. The day of the event the operations manager and team made sure everything was set up correctly. Our staff and friends had a great time and everyone enjoyed the food. We highly recommend Deerfield for your next event!!

Beautiful course. We were the last 4 to go out before a league on a Monday at about 240 for $37. We saw a handful of golfers the rest of the day. It was insanely hot and muggy but the place was gorgeous. Well kept and fun but challenging design. The value is tremendous at that time. Sadly we got rained out just as we pulled up to 15. We hung out inside the bar and had some great drinks and food in there as well. Staff was great too. The gentleman running the pro shop and the bartender that worked on 7/17/17 were absolutely awesome and took great care of us!

Played here multiple times this year. Wonderful course, great conditions each time. Two major drawbacks though. Website states they have someone making sure pace of play is maintained by checking progress of groups. Never once did this occur and each time we were waiting for slow twosomes and threesomes. Still able to finish a round in 4-4.5 hours but definitely affects your ability to get in a groove. Secondly, the last time I played I had a10 tee time. Got there early so I could hit range balls to warm up. At 940, starter yelled at me from down range telling me I was late and holding up tons of groups. Two holes in and I was stalled by a twosome that refused to allow my partner and I to play through. Starter issue may have been an isolated incidence but made for disappointing last outing. Overall great course but slow play will have you frustrated if you are trying to play

We have had our prom here for the last two years and I have been golfing here once. The land is beautiful and the banquet hall is very elegant...perfect for prom. The food has never been very good. I had an undercooked steak and a chicken parm that was dried out. But otherwise, it is a great place to get pictures and the golf course is in great condition.

Amazing staff made the process for our celebration of life event easy and seamless. The room was gorgeous. The food was delicious. I just cant say enough how about how well taken care of everyone was by this incredible and kind group of people!

The food was delicious. Steak, crab legs, steamed shrimp, crab cakes, waffles, omelettes and so much more. And the desert bar was oh so delicious, as well as the coffee. Seating was elegant. Definitely recommend.

For the past year I have had the absolute pleasure to work closely with Angela and my bride in the planning of her wedding held at Deerfield on June 9, 2017.From the beginning, Angela was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the intricate details of planning a special occasion to ensure a lovely affair. She provided great tips and suggestions whenever we encounter a planning issue or concern. Angela was a true blessing to us.Fast forward....A few days before the big day the couple and I met with the Operations manager, David. We explained in detail their vision for their wedding day. David ensured us that he and his staff had everything under control and that the couple picked the best place in Delaware for their Big Day. And I can honestly say that statement is 100% true. David, Mike, Anne, and the entire staff were exceptional. They thought of everything and didnt miss a beat. They were attentive to our needs, personable and a pleasure to be around.I would highly recommend Deerfield again and again. The atmosphere was great, the food was excellent and the grounds were well maintained and clean.Thanks Deerfield for providing us with the best of the best. You exceeded my expectations, but more importantly the expectations of the bride and groom. Thank you again!

Friendly and helpful staff but the course was not in any way worth the $55 green fee. Lots of crab grass, brown or dead spots. Some of the greens were in extremely poor condition and the rest were just “Ok”. I probably would not go back.

This was our 4th visit . This last visit was disappointing. Limited selection, the beef was tough and they did not offer crab legs! All other times they offered crab legs. Our waiter (jeff) was very nice and attentive, five stars for him.

Came here for a wedding reception. The reception ballroom was beautiful. What I was most impressed with was the staff. They were attentive and wanted to serve the guests to the highest quality possible. The only issue was the delivery of the entrees. There was a confirmation of each guests selection of entree but there were mix ups in delivery with many guests. They were willing to figure things out quickly. I even noticed a guest who didn’t enjoy the vegetarian option and the brought out a secondary option. Well done!

My husband and I got married over the summer at Deerfield. It was the best and most memorable experience of my life. Guest and the wedding party are still talking about the delicious food, amazing atmosphere and how beautiful everything was. Angela and the staff did an AMAZING job with everything down to the smallest detail. The staff was highly attentive and constantly made sure things were running smoothly. I was extremely impressed with the food at a buffet dinner I attended last night. I have never experienced the quality of the meal from the soup (my favorite) to the salmon. Unbelievably scrumptious!!

I just got married at Deerfield in December, 2014. My experience working with Emily was amazing. She was so easy to get ahold of, and she took the time to explain all of our options. She really made us feel like we were top priority. On the day of, working with David and his staff was really special. David was there to make sure everything went perfectly, and he really kept it all flowing according to plan. I would highly recommend Deerfield for any event, but especially a wedding. The Christmas decor was perfect for what we wanted, and the food was out of this world! Job well done!

A challenging course, well maintained!

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception at Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club. We were thrilled how every aspect of our wedding day went! From planning with Emily starting in February to day of coordination with David, our day was even better than we could have imagined. They went out of their way to be accommodating to us and it showed in everyones reactions to our wedding. Leading up to the wedding they were helpful in scheduling times for us to have our photographers in and to come look at the venue when planning floral arrangements. The food was fantastic. We got not a single complaint, which lets face it, food is the most important part of the experience! Many people have said as far as wedding food goes this place had the best. I could not believe how smoothly everything went there. They handled everything. David and Anne gave extra attention to us, the bridal party and the parents tables to make sure we had a chance to enjoy everything. Nothing at all was missed! If you are deciding on your event venue look no further!
