We were unsatisfied with our rental of the Grove by the River for a wedding ceremony. The contract included 1 hour for rehearsal night 8/13, 3 hours rental for wedding ceremony 8/14, golf carts to shuttle guests from parking lot to ceremony site and back afterwards, van to transfer bride from Glamper to ceremony site. all chairs set up and tent canopy in place.Overall the place is lovely and we did have a great wedding ceremony. There was poor organization and management that ruined our rehearsal night and caused undo stress to our bridal party and another couple and their bridal party. Bottom line, they overbooked and signed a contract with two different parties for the same rehearsal time slot. I had called 2 days prior to confirm all times and review contracts and Sara had asked if we could change our practice time. We said no because we had already told people the time 6-7 pm and had made plans accordingly. We show up that Friday to rehearsal with another wedding party on site doing their rehearsal and mad at us/Sara for the confusion. We went ahead and tried to practice a run through with people staring/glaring at us, when Emily marched right up to us and said we had to leave because we were interfering with someones rehearsal. We literally ran through practice 3 times (with Emily standing glaring with hand on her hips) with no reassurance on who was doing what, or how things were going to work out. What a mess!!!! We were trying to be nice to the other couple so they could have a bit of time to practice also. Why did we have to get out of the way when it was our time???? As we were leaving and complaining, I spoke to Emily and told her we had a contract stating our time was 6-7. She stated she had no idea about the contracts and who was in right. I told her that she shouldnt assume who was right or wrong then & that I felt bad for her that her boss/Sara had put her in this position. Emily also said it wouldnt have been that big of a deal if there wasnt impending weather. It was cloudy & looked like rain was coming any time, but our time was 6-7pm. It doesnt matter what the weather was like.Sara apologized the next day when I came to pick up keys for the cabin and Glamper. She said it wasnt a double booking, just a misunderstanding, and that it was blamed on being Friday the 13th. There was still an arch from previous wedding that she said would be removed in time. When I asked about expecting some sort of reimbursement since we did not receive what our contract stated, Sara said she would offer the golf cart shuttle. This was already agreed upon when we booked the venue. All in al,l the Glamper and cabin worked well for our needs. The chairs and tent/canopy was in place & the wedding did go fine. Please note: The van they used to transfer the bride and bridesmaids had no AC.Emily never did apologize for her rude behavior. No credit or reimbursement was offered even when I sent a follow up text.I would never use or recommend this venue. Maybe we were treated poorly because we did not rent the hall, just the ceremony site by the river?????

Had a wonderful time visiting my SIL and BIL today @ their campsite. BEAUTIFUL LOCATION!

Beautiful natural setting with about half of the wide, back-in full service sites along the river. About half of the sites are permanent or long term, with rigs that are not aging well. Rating is 3 stars instead of 5 because sites are sloped and uneven, need gravel; no firewood or ice for sale; no monitoring guest behavior. Last night 7 to 10 and starting again at 7:30 this morning the campground was treated to loud volume classic country songs from Amplifier Guy.

Grove by the river was a God send !!! Our venue recently cancelled on us which put us in a two week range to find a new one and I couldnt have asked for a better staff to work along side. Anything we needed they were right there to make our brides day happen in a hurry! Thanks so much Sarah for your excellent service !!

We camped all summer at this campground. The rates are really good, it’s very close to all amenities (shopping, restaurants,etc). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The campground is small (30 spaces), and is occupied by mostly folks who are permanent residents, or those who spend the entire season there. It’s a beautiful setting with plenty of trees, and a river close by. There are a few issues with upkeep (roads, parking spots), but we really had no issues. Looking forward to going back next summer.We weren’t able to return to this campground in 2020 because of COVID. They were open, but we didn’t travel to Ohio because we didn’t want to get there and everything be closed up, which it was. You pay in advance for your space, so that was a chunk of money we had put out. The campground could not refund the money -understandable- but they agreed to move it to the next year - 2021. I thought that was very reasonable. These folks are easy to deal with, and I look forward to being there this year.

The location was perfect. The main building was beautiful. The staff decorated everything and it looked absolutely beautiful. I walked in with the lights and candles and just said wow! It was perfect. The staff was amazing as well and gave us a perfect wedding reception for my daughter!

Had our wedding yesterday! Everything turned out so beautiful! Sara went above and beyond my wildess dreams to make everything turn out the exact way we wanted it to. She is such a great asset to your team and we were extremely glad she took the time to make everything beautiful. Thank you so much this will always be a day i will remember.

Great site for outdoor weddings or other activities. They put on a great buffet for events, and desserts are excellent.

This hall is very nice considering the neighborhood. It is surrounded by a security fence and a park. The facilites are up to date and well maintained.

We just held my daughters wedding reception at The Grove by the River and it was amazing! The facilities were very very nice and Sara was super to work with! She went above and beyond in everything we needed. Very accommodating! I would highly recommend The Grove by the River to anyone needing a banquet facility!!!!

Bought by the nonprofit Goodwill for 3.5$ million.they own what used to be a nice apartment complex nextdoor as well henceforth can only be referred to as the Goodwill ghetto,management and upkeep is very poor the man in charge is David Spencer a total clown clearly unfit for the position the Grove looks nice they invested quite a bit but left surrounding property in disrepair for a company that pays no tax youd think they could hire someone qualified to take on such a large project they also bought the kids baseball field down the road and are building condos bravo Goodwill

Had a good time. Was close to home so i could drive back and forth to work. My son, nieces, and nephew had fun on the play ground. We stayed in the glamper. The only bad things was our gate opener didnt work and the kids found a meth pipe hidden under a rock by the river

Not a bad place to stay....quiet and relaxing...not very much for kids to do and the management is not helpful or responsive at all!

We are planning our wedding reception here and they have done a great job helping us with the options.

We recently had our wedding there - the site is very clean and pretty however the management of the facility is some of the poorest Ive ever seen. We had our contract broken 3 times by them. They continually changed items we agreed upon after we paid had paid in full. I felt that we were nickeled and dimed for everything. I would not recommend this location to anyone. This place is a step away from a contractual lawsuit.
