Ron was super helpful and flexible about getting me set up purchasing a week guest pass at this location while traveling for work.Facility was clean and very well equipped. All staff super friendly. Thanks again, Ron!
Great customer service (thanks, Ron!) and workout spaces. Gym wasn’t crowded and well equipped.
Had a great experience coming to this gym. I’m from the bay area and needed a place to work out, and this place was clean, organized with great customer service. Ron and Jackie definitely brought a welcoming vibe into this club!
I was working and staying and midtown for the week, and went to a couple of gyms before stopping by Crunch on 38th. The facility is clean, staff is friendly, and there’s a good amount of equipment. Would definitely recommend this gym if you’re staying in the city or live in the area I’ve also been a member of crunch fitness before and have had an overall great experience.
The people here are extremely friendly and helpful. If you are looking to feel welcomed and motivated you should definitely try coming here. I had an amazing experience working with Jordan one of their personal trainers. This guy is an absolute genius at what he does. Absolutely worth it!!!!!!
I’ve been training with Jordan for over a year and a half and he’s one of the best trainers I’ve ever worked with. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the body and what movements will help you reach your goals. I’d recommend him to anyone who is willing to commit to goals, stick to them and see impressive results.
This was such a great gym experience until I met the PT manager Shamaine. He pushed me into getting personal training sessions insisting the scheduling would be easy. I paid $900 and my first session was cancelled within 3 days with no future of confirming another session. I was told I only had 24 hours to cancel but was never given a contract or a receipt. After my BANK provided me with a printed contract I saw I had THREE days which was within the window for when i stated i wanted to cancel!! It has been over 2 months and no refund or response from corporate in sight. I wound up having to cancel my membership today due to new regulations so I clearly cant even go to the gym any longer. I want my money back. This is so unfair after being a member over 5 years collectively.
Clean club. Visiting from Florida and this gym was perfect. Ron & staff were friendly and very helpful.
Came for the day and it’s a wonderful facility they have great equipment. The facility is clean and was not crazy packed.
I had a problem with my membership, an within a couple of minutes, Mr. Louis, the General Manger took care of it. Absolutely love the Crunch location at 38th and Broadway, I call it the feel good gym. It has all of the necessary equipment thats in really good condition. Its an amazing place to workout, and the front desk crew keeps the place fun. Very affordable and I highly recommend giving it a try!
The best service I ever had at a gym !!! Will come here again.
My favorite location. Its always clean and tend to be less crowded than others. stars because they are closed on the weekends.Hector is a very good manager.
Great facility! Welcoming staff and super clean gym!
Great helpful staff! Ron was so great at getting me in and orienting me.
Everything is fine about this gym except one thing: obnoxiously loud music. You can not block it with anything. Management, it’s not a bar, it’s a gym. What’s is wrong with you? Are you deaf? I do not want someone’s musical preferences be unforced on me for my own money. It’s clearly unbearable. If this issue is not fixed will be looking for a a different club.
Clean and open space, got all the essential equipments for a good workout. With a great view on top of it
Signed up for this gym at the beginning of the month. Since my brother and I joined its been nothing but positive experiences. The general manager there, Louis Rosales, was incredibly helpful through the whole process of joining the gym. It was great. All the trainers are also super friendly and very helpful. My brother and I started a training program with Jordan and it has been incredible. Would definitely recommend it to anyone. Jafar and Stephanie are great too! Don’t understand the negative reviews. Super cleanly place too. My experience has been awesome.
While in membership with Crunch i really enjoyed this location! I particularly enjoyed Louis and appreciate his dedication to the members. The team is also very nice here.
Awesome gym, Ron and Jackie are great!!!
Obviously, my gym experience has been shaken by the effects of Covid-19. I used to live in NY and this used to be my gym, but unfortunately had to relocate while we wait for the pandemic to get under control. That said, the staff here helped me through these challenging times by being communicative and reasonable. I am looking forward to getting back to NY and utilizing this gym.
I started going to the gym at Crunch when I moved to NYC in March. Went here for 2 weeks, and even though it is pricey all was fine. Since then I had to leave the city and I knew I wouldnt be back, so I tried to cancel my account and get a refund. They have since continued to take money from my account and I have been waiting for months to get refunded. It also takes them ages to respond to their email. They say they have been receiving a high volume of requests. I cant imagine they receive so many requests it literally takes them months to get back to it. Wouldnt recommend.
The gym and facilities are great, as is the case with most Manhattan Crunch locations, but what makes this location truly special is the staff. Louis Rosales was extremely helpful in solving my issues; very professional and courteous.
It’s such an inconvenience that they’re closed on the weekends. Why not go back to their regular business hours ?!
Definitely a safe space. Everyone follows the rules, equipment and facility is well taken care of. Highly recommend.
Great space, lots of room and tons of natural light. Plenty of equipment, well maintained and clean.
I have used Crunch on both 59th and38th street . Both locations are extremely clean with tons of space . I Feel Crunch is clearly standing out these Days as one of NYC solid and affordable clubs. Louis Rosales and his staff are always available to answer all questionsGreat job !
A great facility to train in with all of the various equipment that is available.
Similar to a review before, I did not have the most positive experience with getting charges and annual fee refunded when I have been trying to cancel for a while before the gyms opened. I had to email/talk to at least 3 people (whom didnt respond timely to emails unless I called and forced them to speak with me) in order to get my membership cancelled, and I still wasnt refunded properly (I havent used my membership AT ALL and asked to cancel for a while). I really enjoyed this location but this experience was really negative and its a shame because otherwise the trainers at this gym are really nice, but dealing with this process was miserable.
Very clean gym with good equipment .
Raised their rates twice during Covid even though no access for the last year
The Worst! I was emailing Louis R. in regards to freezing my account as I am not in NYC. I then got emailed by Camille A. who emailed me the following, Requests made on or after September 2nd, are considered valid charges and are not eligible for a refund. I requested a freeze way in advance. My account got charged first day of reopening (TWICE).So I requested a cancellation and they proceeded with canceling my membership but did not reverse the charges on my card even though I am unable to go to the gym.
I have been going to this crunch fitness for a month now, i love the workout space, proper equiments and trainers (Jafar) who are very friendly and always ready to help you if you need, i go early mornings when it’s less crowded. All the staff are very professional and attentive to clients need. Mr. louis has been of great help to me. I peesonally love this crunch fitness at 38th ST. Thank you
Beautiful gym & awesome equipment throughout. Really nice big windows let in a lot of light! The only reason rating 4-stars is this location is closed on Sundays (and the official Crunch app says otherwise with different hours posted)
Good clean gym everything is on one floor
I liked this gym a lot
Excellent classes
These people are scammers, charge membership fees in times of pandemic, do not respond to emails, and claim that no notification was received. It is an abuse. Do not use their services.
I go to this location 4-5 times a week but after my experience just now speaking to a manager I dont want pay this place anymore money.I left my wallet at this location on Monday. Thankfully when I called back someone had turned it in and I had let them know that I wouldnt be back until the next morning to come get it as I was already at work. When I went in this morning I was told that they had put it in the safe and that there was no one there that could open it up. This was at 7:30 AM, and I have work at 8:30am so I couldnt just wait around to wait for someone to get there. I called back just now to confirm that someone would be there tomorrow morning early enough so I could get my wallet before I go to work. I was told (very rudely) that they only open the safe from 10-7 and that if I asked them to watch it behind the desk then it was not their fault if something happened. I asked the manager why I should be concerned that something might happen to it if I left it up front with the employees to watch. She then got very defensive with me and refused to answer any more questions. When I went to ask her her name she also refused to tell me and hung the phone up. I cant believe that this is how the members are treated by a manager at this company. I dont see this policy anywhere and Im sure they couldve been more accommodating.
I signed up for gym time through classpass and had no problems checking in. I only had to tell the people at the front desk my name and show ID, and they were able to look it up. The space is huge. There was an aerial hammock class going on which looked pretty cool. They also had this one machine that was like an elliptical but felt lighter, like a low-impact elliptical. It had arm rests on the back so you can even lean back and keep jogging without holding the heart monitor handles. Ive never seen that at another gym.The lockers were pretty wide with 4 hooks. I had my hoodie, a jacket, and a backpack and still had plenty of room in the locker. The shower room had bath and body products from Ritual which is a pretty high end brand and they smell amazing. I have used Ritual products before and I am a fan, so that was a big plus. They also provide towels, hair dryers, straighteners, and curlers in the locker room.
One of the worst locations with terrible customer service. Disgusting that some of these people are actually “managers.”
Wonderful staff and exceptional facilities.
This place is top notch. I tried it out 1 day, and I’m cancelling my NYSC membership and joining. My one complaint- I wish it were open on Sundays! And I’m working out on the regular with Kevon! Ask for him by name!
I love this place. The club has all services I need: gym and classes, after them you can relax in sauna or a steam room and take a shower. They offer lotions and shower cosmetics, towels are everywhere around the club and water is in access too. I enjoy this club👍🏽
Stop this music!!!!!!! So loud. No one wants it at this volume!!! Everyone has their own music And entertainment!!! Please stop!!
It’s a bit small considering the volume of people who work out there and is closed on Sundays which is a real disadvantage. The folks at the front desk are nice enough but the little interaction I’ve had with the membership team hasn’t been great. I’m purposefully taking a financial hit and upgrading my account to all gyms so I’m no longer forced to go to this location...
Classes are INTENSE! But the instructors are fantastic and understanding. Front desk staff are hit or miss on friendliness but theyre all adequately professional. The facility and equipment are well maintained and clean and lockers are spacious. Some of my favorite classes:- Chisel- Cycling- Ab AttackSome classes Ive taken that sounded super cool but not for me lol:- Ariel yoga- Bungee
I will tell anyone who listens how horrible my experience at this gym was. Ive never had such rude gym staff. With a gym at every corner in NYC there is no need to subject yourself to this place.
ClassPass visitor for open gym access. Liked this crunch but I’ve been to several other crunch gyms, and they all seem to enforce and state different rules on being late. It would have been great to get a warning since other gyms use a “present or not” policy rather than be petty about me missing 25 min of my own workout. or at least the ability to just work out instead of being told to basically go screw myself. It was a 2 hr session and I showed up 25 mins late. They said I couldn’t work out and I’d be charged a late fee by ClassPass. Said it was liability issue somehow....seems the liability is with the fact that the crunch gyms are operating under different rules/no rules. I’d worry more about the source of the issue then telling folks they can leave or pay $35 to work out for the day. Thanks to the manager for listening. Left it at 2 stars instead if 1 for that. I would have preferred to work out or be offered something since YOU GUYS are breaking YOUR own rules, however.
I signed up to crunch for the sauna, and this location has a sauna that operates randomly - sometimes its barely hot no matter which buttons you push, sometimes its too hot. I complained a couple of times with the reception downstairs and they literally said yes, it doesnt work sometimes, wait for the next day. The location on the upper west side is much better for this.PS I think it’s hilarious how the “Owner” would reply only to positive reviews.
Shortly after I signed up for this gym, I lost the ability to reserve popular classes in advance through the app. I know for a fact that its not because the classes are full, since i am able to sign up for the same classes through Classpass in advance. Clearly this gym is prioritizing and filling up its great classes with non-members to make extra $$$. One of the only reasons I signed up for this gym is because I expected to be able to reserve and go to the classes as a member (as was suggested on their website). This Is extremely misleading, and borderline false advertising...
Very clean, large gym with lots of showers. I really enjoy the instructors and staff are very friendly and helpful. Crowded at 6pm like most gyms in the city. 6-8 am is a good time to work out.
Never go to this location or sign up for membership, unfriendly staff
Convenient to work but not my favorite location. Spin room is narrow as is locker room. Worth is for the great classes. Try Angel!
I go to this crunch sometimes. Its nice because its usually not that crowded. Which means itll probably close soon, and then Ill have to go somewhere else. Im really filling out these reviews for the free storage.
They have awesome facilities, classes and machines. However, the personel needs to be educated. They do not know how to treat people specially the personal trainers. I was training with my boyfriend and in a moment I cheered him up to finish the workout and suddenly one of the personal trainers approached to us aggressively saying that I cant train my boyfriend because of the policies of the gym. He reaction was so rude that we had an embarrassing moment with other members that were there. Later the manager didnt care too much. Heexplained to us the policy which could be understandable but the way that this guy treated us was unprofessional and make us have a really bad time.
*NO HOT WATER* Crunch at 38th St has no hot water about 3-4 times a month during the winter season. Have been a member here for over 1 year now. There is no warning about it either when it happens. Members do not get an email or even a sign at the front desk as courtesy. Crunch only has one sign in the locker room. The situation does not get fixed for 2 days when it happens either. Very expensive membership for this monthly inconvenience ($98 a month) Oh! They just put NEW treatmills though. So let run, get sweaty and take a 2-second freezing cold shower or no shower at all :¬]
Crunch isnt what it use to be...but I still love it. There are some great classes like Buddha Belly, Hot Yoga, and Pole Dancing. My fave location is the one on 38th Street..like having the gym to yourself.
Place is going downhill and no one seems to care. Water pressure is a joke. Trickles out. The past three weeks there is a problem with hot water. if you dont take a shower early its luke warm at best. How long can it really take to fix a HOT water issue?Today 11/17 the ONE person with a key doesnt show up so whole load of people standing on street waiting to get in. Waited one hour to get in! All my stuff in locker and no alternatives. when I finally got in had to shower and rush to work. HUGE bummer
I love this gym but Staffing very rude.I was working out with my partner at this location. he was showing and teaching me how to do it better but we had the horrible experience to be stopped for a Crunch Personal trainer in front of everyone saying that my partner is not allow to teach me all the exercicies. He was very very rude. When we talked to the manager he said your partner can work out with you but he can’t be next to you counting the number because it’s under their policies. We both paid our membership to do whatever we want always respecting other crunch members. Very unpolite customer service.
Love working out here, always nice people
Juice bar·group fitness·martial arts·cardio“Customer service receives a F-. In the aftermath of Sandy this location decided not to honor guest passes, thereby denying a hot shower to loved ones of members living south of 31st street.”

Not good staff. No customer service.
Big place with So many machines!! Have about 4 bench presses. Very clean!
I work at crunch (tysons)...the best! awesomecustomers, amazing staff......
Awefull service! Trust me save your money for someone who will value loyalty! They employ crappy office managers who cant wait to give you cancellation agreement notices. Because they dont know what a good service is so they cant give good service.I agree that place is going down hill, especially that NO ONE CARES no matter how long you were witb them they simply dont care. Its sad.
I wish there was better management at this particular location. Constant problems with class registration at the club on the spot.
Good facility. Locker room was recently updated
This Crunch is great! Ive always liked it.
The worst dishonest place. I was made a phone call to cancel my account. Then When I check my bank two months later. It still charges my money. And they said that my account is not canceled and they didn’t received any phone calls before. I’m totally speechless! Plz guys save you money and go to another gyms else! 🤢
Used car salesman tactics waste your time and hide the fact they will try and hit you with as many fee’s as possible as you look to join. Not worth it plenty of other options out there
Never to crowded in the mornings or anytime outside the 5pm to 7:30 pm rush.
Constantly crowded, the locker rooms are too small, the showers are gross (even after the renovation), expensive, the trainers are rude
Working with MASTER TRAINER Jordan has been THE BEST! I train with him 3 times a week! His knowledge of a variety of exercises, his knowledge of the body, and his knowledge of nutrition are first rate. He is positive reinforcing, challenging, and focused. He is a little bit funny and not a very good dancer. I am seeing and feeling growth in my ‘fitness self’ and my quality of life has improved. Keep on!
Well 👍 in these times 100% helping us with the pandemic
