Very friendly front desk staff. There were towels on the workout stations and treadmills which were nice. The red room is huge so it was a little difficult to see the instructor but that’s normal for a nyc Barry’s class. Overall, good experience, would come back

This is such a soulless place to workout! I was particularly frustrated for them overbooking the class and giving people on the waitlist my spot but then also charging me for the class although I arrived BEFORE THEY STARTED THE CLASS!Also, some of the instructors are really arogant and never help with correcting the postures or speaking clear proper English! They also accept people with all Fitness levels without giving them any support to correct their training which then becomes hazardous for the rest of people in the room!

A favorite place to work-out. Impressive cast of excellent instructors, consistently good vibe for hard work-outs. Respect for years-long, fully booked classes.

When I feel like I haven’t pushed myself in a while I come to Barry’s. This location is particularly convenient by the trains and can have a nice walk afterwards. You can choose to run or double floor (weights at all times). This is a great option for me as I’m not great with running. Love this place!

This area has become the gym district but you’re guaranteed to get your money’s worth here. Barry’s is a good challenge and takes a lot of effort but your feel accomplished by the end. I particularly like how it mixes weightlifting and running. The music is usually awesome which is a great bonus. A lot of people seem intimidated to try it; I say go for it! ...and maybe grab a protein shake from their shop at the end 😀

I wanted to really love this place. The staff were lovely and the facilities were good. The problem was the crowds of people - it felt like a money making machine, jamming so many people in a tiny space and the acoustics of the room I felt were terrible. There was a lot of yelling over the microphone but you couldn’t really hear well - it was too loud. There was a lot of switching between floor and threads and a fair bit of confusion. Floor was dirty and slippery with sweat. The workout itself was great, it just wasn’t amazing because of the loud music, overly loud microphone and constant switch. Bathrooms were good though it was very busy and so you’d need to wait to use the hairdryers.

Nice place and concept, but execution isn’t great. Out of the 3 classes I attended, only 1 instructor was good (Andres). Other 2 instructors didn’t have a great flow or sequences to their class structure. They are also not attentive so you’ll need to understand alignment, how heavy you can lift etc in order to maximise your workout. The hype appears to be overrated to me, at least in the NoHo studio.

Barrys bootcamp is tough, but from over 15 years of trainers, fitness classes and programs in nyc, i have gotten the most results from doing barrys 2-3 times a week. Favorite instructors are Adria, Keoni, and Mike Espinosa!

It’s a great workout, however:- studio is overcrowded- you waste time in cardio-to-floor switches as a horde of people try to drop/pick up equipment in a narrow place (annoying and useless wait)- floor is dirty- if you’re not experienced and you do not know the right form for things like snatches, deadlifts, squats, clean press YOU WILL GET INJURED. The trainer simply cannot look at everyone’s form, and they barely show the exerciseThis bootcamp is for relatively fit people who want to get fitter.I would stick to your gym classes, do more weights and add a session of 20m fartlek in whatever cardio you like at the end of your gym session.

To start off, be facilities are lovely. The old building is minimally renovated to preserve its old NoHo charm abd it works. The ladies locker room is immaculately clean (cant speak for the mens) and the Malin & Goetz shower products make it nearly impossible to abide by their 5 minute shower request. The woman at the front desk was kind and helpful and there are no improvements to me made in general to the facilities or overall experience outside of the studio. Didnt try the fuel bar but it looks amazing.Ive been on a fitness class binge lately and I put this one off as long as possible until I feel ready to have my tush kicked by the best workout in the world which is supposed to be the toughest workout in NYC and difficult for most anyone. Maybe Im in MO better shape than I thought because I really enjoyed it. The only thing that threw me a little was that half the class is on the treadmill while the other half is on the floor/benches, lifting weights etc so the instructor is calling out instructions alternately for floor and tread and its a little hard to understand with the mic so you really need to be paying attention. Personally, if rather focus on my form than straining to understand that I can stop sprinting now. Maybe the microphones could use a little update? This brings me to the instructor. I heard so many good things about Omri and was absolutely not disappointment. If anything I thought hed be a little more mean but be was really helpful and explained things beautifully (despite the microphone!) while still being super tough on us. I couldnt have asked for more from an instructor. Thanks Omri! While I still think Im more of a cycling type, Ill definitely be back to Barrys to mix it up every now and then!
