I have met so many wonderful people at this gym. I usually come in the morning, so its spacious and clean. Staff is very courteous and attentive. Monthly fee is very manageable for those looking for a gym on a tight budget. Loving this gym!

FINALLY!!! This gym has staff that smiles and arepeople friendly. I decided since I couldn’t sleep to go to the gym at 5am on a Wednesday morning.The gentleman that were working that morning were very pleasant and kind. Unlike the day staff that never smiles and have the nastiest attitude. The gym is clean, although one of the smaller planet fitness, however I always felt as though the staff look bored and tried and never smile. When staff were asked any questions they always seemed, annoyed. They do their job the gym is clean, well put together everything is in place and machines are clean. Bathroom are clean as well.This was first time walking in and being greeted with a smile. That was the only thing missing. Good job !!!

Not as tightly run as other planet fitnesses. Usually when i walk into a planet fitness there are paper towel/spray bottle stations loaded with supplies everywhere i turn.This location has less, and they are often low on supplies stocked and with less spray bottles than Im accustomed to.Second negative is that this gym is big for NYC but the layout is poorly thought through, only a portion of the possible planet fitness machines are there.This franchise seems to prefer to offer the minimum instead of the overkill of choices and cleanliness Im used to.

No complaints! This is my favorite/preferred gym and the black card benefits totally come in handy and enhance the experience. Id recommend coming in the evenings or anytime before 3, because being that its a location in lower Manhattan it can get crowded sometimes. Gym-goers and staff alike are friendly and arent out to make you uncomfortable. Its a gym, after all, the only progress that really matters is yours however long it takes you to achieve that. Place is usually clean and people are always on point when it comes to wiping down a machine theyve just finished using. Ive really never had any negative experiences here and dont anticipate that changing in the future.

The only PF gym giving one token for massage chair. One evening I asked for the second token, the staff told me that he ran out of tokens. It means Nobody can use the massage chair anymore. Does he ran out of tokens or he doesn’t want to give me another one ?I emailed the manager about this but I didn’t get any reply.Some of the staff are giving a second token.It’s like you have to beg for 2 tokens, I’ve visited some Pf gym and they are giving 2 tokens right away for the massage chair.

Clean, really nice. The customers place the weights back properly, everyone stays to themselves, noone hogs the machines, and people respect your personal space here. It may be built to prevent people from coming because its hard to find. But I am glad I did.

Went as a guest. Such a quiet & self driven gym. It was pretty crowded yet no one was being loud or obnoxious, like the ones in Harlem where they start yelling or start talking to their homeboy on volume max. everyone can hear them, even with headphones on, which is horrifying

The most cost friendly gym around.

No one seemed to care about new vaccine mandate, which took effect this week. Desk workers said it didnt apply until Sept. 17, which is actually the date that the city starts enforcement of the mandate. The mandate itself took effect Aug. 17. Planet fitness doesnt seem to care about protecting the health of its members. Only starting to abide by the mandate the date they might get caught not observing it, ie Sept 17.I had to ask the desk clerk to look at my vaccine card.Very disappointing.

Be ready to wait in line for at least 45 minutes (that’s how long it took me) because their crowd meter is NOT working. What load of bs that was to begin with. We all knew they won’t be able to run that properly. Btw they might not know how to run the crowd meter but knew sure knew to charge me my fee this morning lol. Like why do you charge me without even asking mw if I will be coming back to the gym, plus why do you charge me if I can’t even get in? Losers.

What an amazing location and gym at just $25 (black membership)Management has gone out of their way to hire the friendliest, most enthusiastic staff, and i always felt comfortable working out (even before receiving the vaccine), as management were great about contract tracing, cleaning down the equipment and wearing facemasks the entire time. There are tons of extra aerobic equipment (bikes, treadmills, stair steppers) that never seems more than 25% utilized, as it appears that most members come hear to use both the free weights and machines, but most members are generally good about letting you know when they will be done with the machines and finding you if you are in the areaWell done Planet Fitness

This is not an intelligently spaced gym. The weight area is absolutely packed, while most of the cardio machines are empty.

This particular Planet Fitness is amazing. Depending on what time you go, it isnt crowded so Ive rarely ever waited to get in. About 50% of the staff is friendly and the remainder is just neutral, but who cares this is a gym. Great facility, well maintained, usually enough space for everyone.b

Planet Fitness is on its way to help me heal my back: I felt seizures coming, always wanted to work out my body, mildly, and am a black card member now, not giving up at the capture talk of some of the staff, or the immediate credit ruining effort that bounced my first payment by a banker who refuses access to the branch bathroom even in emergencies and claims I should disregard as automatic issuances three letters complaining I didn.t pay my loan after 45 days of borrowing when I.ve always paid in less than a month.s time.he claimed gyms do this, they steal your money, it happens on a regular basis it was their fault I should give up the membership and beware. did I ever?I had NO IDEA my back was in such bad shape. I started a massage chair therapy in April, and in August I still feel, though much less, lower back tendin and muscle fascia pulls I.m very careful not to strain. I expect care and about a year may prep me for a full work out.I already have s yoga program plan, will add tai chi, find this a great opportunity to heal, love the music, coolness of the place,the equipment and space - a dance room and pool would be perfect! and, above all, it.s opportunity to develop a highly individualized approach to fitness in an environment reclaiming nature and lovers of nature, and their sounds, as part of the world. it.s healing and intelligent.thanks!

PF is very clean, spacious and the staff are friendly at the times when I’m there. However, I find their choice to adhere to state mandate of members not having to wear a mask is irresponsible and inconsiderate of them. It’s dangerous to the general public and really disgusting to think about.

Its all good except for the loud annoying music that over powers my head speakersUpdate: After I posted my complaint about their music over powering my head phone I received a reply which put the onus on me to become the bad guy and ask management to lower the music volume. Over the years I have done this repeatedly to no effect. Bottom line: Its up to headquarters to do the right thing.

Dont sign up for this gym. I was a member because I needed a gym I could use all over due to travel. When covid hit they made it impossible for users to cancel membership. I moved 3.5 hrs away from my home gym in Manhattan, only for them to resume charging me in August of 2020. Every month I have tried to cancel my account, including reporting to Bank Of America that its a fraudulent charge, because I havent set foot in a PF Gym since March 2020. They refuse to cancel my account unless I go to the gym in Manhattan.There are a lot of other gyms that are nationwide. And that offer better customer service. Dont go here.

It is good for a quick morning routine, very clean and with good space and good amount of machines. The only thing I found bad is that showers are closed and I have been in other planet fitness facilities and they have the shower open to be used...

Basically, unless you get there right as they open, you will have to wait in a line. They dont even have the equipment that any other normal gym does, and since you cant get without waiting 15-30 minutes *minimum*, youre better off either working out at home or going somewhere where they value your time.

Huge roaches in the gym and the staff doesnt care.Perplexing that they dont get a exterminator.

Still no working air conditioner today. Everyone looks overheated. I asked the desk and they don’t know when it will be fixed. This is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen. Someone is going to faint and hurt themselves and planet fitness will be held liable.

Grateful to have a place to work out for so cheap. The Social Fitnessing is a joke and I wish they would stop blocking so many machines. Im glad they are limiting the number of people into the gym but the free weights area is still over crowded. They should move some of the treadmills and bikes and put some of the machines in that room and expand the free weights area. The bathroom and locker room is very grimy and dirty.

Under their guidance I have lost 7 kgs in two months.Highly recommended

Been coming here for years and like the gym a lot. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. However, with covid safety there is lacking on getting people to wear masks. Once in a while I see a staff member or two asking people to wear mask correctly but for the most part staff doesnt walk around often enough. As soon as staff walk away the offending person puts their mask below their chin again. Even staff are wearing masks below their noses while at front desk.

So far so good! Moved into the city not too long ago and this is my neighborhood Planet Fitness. It has everything you need. Wish there were more weights, but its got a lot for you to do while you wait for a bench to open up (theres only 5-6).

Planet Fitness is Planet Fitness you know what I mean you pay for what you get theres only one problem in this place its a little too hot theyre using old steam radiators to heat up the place and it feels very hot when youre exercising on the treadmills with a stem Masters you better be prepared to suffocate inside your mask because there is no air if youre a person who really needs to mask up and take care of your health from covid-19 this is not the place for you because of the excessive heat and closeness there is no air circulation in the place at all

They need more bars. Only two and people sit there and don’t use the press. This design is amateur and needs more free weights. People are clueless here and don’t know proper rules at all. They use their phone more than the weights.

I am so impressed with the quality service that this fitness gym is offering. They have clean and wide space, plus the types of exercising equipment here are operating well. The staffs are very nice and the membership is much cheaper compared to other ones. I love the refreshing ambiance of this place that makes me feel so relaxed every after my workout. Ive told my sister about this gym and she was really happy when she first got here and couldnt wait to be here again.

The equipment is much newer than the other PFs in the city, and it feels very nice. I like that they have separate sections for things, like stretching and abs has its own section, the cable things have a separate section, and of course the free weights and cardio have their respective sections. The staff has always been very helpful when I’ve had issues or questions and they are enforcing covid regulations which is so important. You have to sign in when you check in and the machines are separated to enforce social distancing. The locker rooms are also very spacious and nice. It’s definitely become my favorite location!

Signed up some time ago because it was in the building where I worked. Obviously, all circumstances have changed with the pandemic. So, time to cancel.No, there is no contract, but no, you *cannot cancel your membership* unless: 1) you go, in person, to a place where you probably dont live or work anymore or 2) you go wait in line at a post office to send a certified letter by mail.This is an obviously and outrageously predatory business practice, and its pathetic that this is how Planet Fitness makes their money. Avoid.

They make mistakes and don’t acknowledge it was their fault and you still have to pay, they offer promotions that don’t honor later, team is very disorganized; they talk too much and don’t pay attention to the cleaning process and it seems like there is not common sense from management, if you going to the customer service desk to cancel they want you to do the line outside with the people who will exercise... or this is a tactic to keep extending the time and keep going with the membership? Who knows. Comparing with other this location offers a bad service.

Horrible membership experience, I have cancelled months ago and they keep billing and claim to have lost the documentation of my cancelled membership despite the fact that I keep sending it over. I am appalled at the unprofessional and unorganized billing department that keeps hounding me 8 months after I cancelled. Not only that, they are supposed to charge a one-time annual fee but they instead have charged this amount on 4 separate occasions.I have called many, many times and the people answering the phone always say there is nothing they can do to help refund me. I have tried filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau but they have not yet responded to these either.

The crowd meter in the app is not accurate. I stood outside in the snow waiting to be let into the gym. A piece of ice fell off the rooftop and missed my head by an inch. They need to improve their crowd meter

This location is convenient and pretty well-equipped, but like a sauna in fall/winter as the building controls the gym heat and there are no fans for air circulation. It’s a sweat box at this location and a deterrent for a good workout. They need to invest in fans at the very least.

This gym is awesome. They are open 24 hours some days. The location is amazing. If you subscribe for a premium membership, you get a discount on some of the beverages. You can join just this club or you can join all the PF locations. I joined them all.

I do not understand the point of customer service if they cannot cancel my membership. Moved across the country to find work and the only options are to go in person or send a handwritten letter. I do not understand what century they live in. I do not understand the purpose of a manager.

This location does not enforce use of mask. About four staff members can be seen at the front desk at one time. Someone needs to walk around the gym to force members to wear masks.

I started coming to this gym after i left New York sports club and I’m thankful i made the switch. The gym has great hours and it’s the perfect size to come in for a good workout and leave in a timely manner. They have all the basic equipment you need for a solid workout. The cardio equipment is well maintained and clean. The locker room is big and always clean when i come in to workout. The staff is friendly and helpful with anything you may need. I will be coming here for some time and i recommend it to all my friends who live in the area.

Great hours, well-kept machines, plenty of cardio equipment, but could use much more space for free weights, abs, and stretching. It is almost impossible to snag a bench in the evenings. My only real complaint is cleanliness. The locker rooms smell horrible, the bathroom stalls are atrocious, there is accumulated dust and hair on the ground every single day and there are not enough spray stations to clean equipment so many people dont bother. I am willing to overlook all of these things for the great price and convenience to my house/work.

Somebody just stole cash and my master lock from a locker in the mans locker-room (12/11/2019, between 8:30 pm and 10:00 pm). By the way, I bought the master lock from the vending machine located next to the gyms reception. Very unsafe place. Be careful! A receptionist told me that I will be contacted by the administration within 24-48 hours after they review my report. Lets see if its true. The gym itself is not bad though and very affordable (except for stealing, of course).

Always long lines outside so you have to wait for 30+ minutes in freezing cold to get inside even though the crowd meter shows it’s less then half packed. You get what you pay for.

This gym is filthy! And the stretching room is full of dust and hair! Needs a good vacuuming and dusting. Beautiful location but management needs to step it up! The locker rooms are always filthy, trash on the floor, And flies in the shower area. I would love to manage this gym!

Clean, but robbery is rampant.

It has gone down hill. It is not so much the equipment, but the people using the gym. They walk right in front of you when using the equipment, most do not put back their weights nor wipe-down the benches, and now many use the Smith Machine for up to 2 hours so others cant get their workout in. I made many suggestions to staff, but they say they are very limited to what they can do. Another recent problem is some odd guys in the locker room-One guy showers for hours while looking at other guys, another stands in front of the mirror doing his hair for over an hour. There are others as well. Very creepy-IMO. Recently they are constantly running out of paper to wipe-down equipment-only have a few spots with towels/spray-this is clearly an employee problem-it never had this problem before.

Its a pretty decent sized gym and clean. I started going to this gym around late March. Unfortunately, I wasnt even given a tour of the gym...I had found the machines I needed on my own...which is okay for me personally. It does have its episodes of crowded times/days, but I guess in NYC, you cant escape from it.The bad things of this gym though are 2 things so far:1) Lack of benches to do your dumbbell or bar exercises. Theres only about 6 of them lined up. I believe 2 or 3 are the adjustable benches to work your upper body (chest and shoulders). So you already know that its tough to be able to grab the bench unless you go during dead hours. Just manage your timing to get to these.2) No decline benches. What happened to working them decline presses for some Silver-back Gorilla action!?Other than those, its a nice gym overall.

It’s not that great of a location. Regulars that come here are not particularly friendly at all. I’ve been ‘body checked’ a few times and there are a lot of wandering eyes that constantly stare. I like to keep to myself and I usually try to go off into a corner and do my own thing, but that still is not effective at times. The equipment is a bit outdated and it is very cramped because of limited space. It’s a convenient location and there are a lot of showers and bathrooms, but I constantly feel harassed and alienated and when my 90 days is up i’ll transfer to another location and come here only when I have to. Staff is friendly and helpful and that is literally the one major redeeming quality, but the members are very cliquish and not particularly kind to outsiders.

This is one of the nicer planet fitness gyms around. Fairly new and big enough to handle the crowds. My only complaint is the showers, they need to be cleaned more often for the amount of people showering in them. Other than that this is an excellent gym.

It’s $10 dollars a month folks, what do you expect?. It’s clean and not too crowded, open almost 24/7.Want more? Pay more. It’s great value for money and super convenient.

The person that registered me wrote down the wrong bank account information and as a result I have been getting charged TWO TIMES more than what I should be paying. It is such a careless mistake on an employee’s part that as a customer I have to PAY for which is extremely UNFORTUNATE. Employees at this facility should be BETTER TRAINED to be “detail oriented”. It’s a basic work skill needed at any place of employment. I have called several times to speak to a manager SINCE NOVEMBER - mind you TWO MONTHS LATER AND MY PROBLEM STILL HASNT BEEN RESOLVED. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau because at this point if the Manager Ryan cannot help me (which why are you here in the first place?) then maybe the Bureau can. Highly disappointed in not just the money lost but time expense that I have needed to make (which I really don’t have much of to begin with) all because of a careless employee. I’ve honestly never felt more disappointed and dissatisfied with an organization before. Don’t even bother with this place seriously. There are such a finite number of machines, dumbbells and barbells, it’s really a gym for those that like to run on the treadmill... The space to stretch and warm up is so tight and the lights are so dim. I really truly do not like this gym. The bathrooms and lockers are filthy, I try to avoid using the toilets/sinks, but lockers I can’t. You get what you pay for honestly. But in my case, I’m paying more than I should for mediocre service (employees and facility), THAT’S what’s frustrating. If I didn’t make it clear already, poor customer service, poor facility. Take that $10/$20 and go to Crunch on 57th. I’ve visited a few times and it is MUCH better.

I recently had my locker broken into and money taken out of my wallet while I was in the shower. I kept my stuff with me on the gym floor but when it came time to shower I put my stuff In a locker, and locked it with my master lock.3 minutes later I catch a guy fiddling with it saying it was open and me being in a towel I rush towards my locker and he ran.The management has yet to contact me about the issue and it’s seems they don’t care.

Went in for a free trial day. Clean gym and friendly staff with locker rooms (some are in front of a security camera if you have very valuable items). No bench press or squat rack, which is kind of weird. Only a smith machine and some free weights. Also no water bottle filling station, unfortunately. Only a regular water fountain.

Usually have available machines and lockers after work around 6pm which is good. However, always seems like the a/c is barely on. So if you like to sweat a lot for your workout (and by a lot I mean head to toe drenched) then this place is for you. It is $10/$20 a month in Manhattan so outstanding value and everything is here. Except a pool.

It gets pretty crowded during peak hours but what do you expect. The staff is friendly and helpful. The locker-rooms are clean. Good variety of weights and machines. Definitely get some of the grape tootsie-rolls.

Quite frankly its very poorly managed. The team that works there is great, but its always understaffed. Machines are constantly broken, people walk off with free weights and no one ever puts them back, and they have completely over sold the space. Theres far too many people there. The staff are friendly and welcoming and helpful, but when you have one person standing at the front desk and thats it, its impossible to manage.

This place use to be decent when it opened, but I dont think it has been cleaned since it opened. The amount of dust is disgusting, not to mention the smell in this location is horrific. The fake air freshener fumes are intoxicating, clean with natural cleaner and stop spraying air freshener throughout the gym it smell like a Porta potty. They also need to put signs up to tell respect they neighbors with good hygiene, its common curtesy!!

I wont be joining as i see many ppl get stuff stolen here on reviews (also its word on the street) The response here from owner is to contact the gym. If youre the owner responding, why arnt YOU not telling your gym management about this yourself instead of telling ur customers to contact them. You clearly see there are issues and cleanliness problems. Why cant you say youll fix it. Also, the owner never says theyll do better / fix the problems.

Worst worst customer service from the manager.I was one of 10 other people who got their stuff stolen in the locker in one hour period. (literally all the locks were broke open).The management did nothing for the victims nor any upgrades in their locker room. The previous manager quits the day after the incident!(sniff sniff) and the new manager wants no part of it? Horrible management. Highly recommend going here if you are looking to get your stuff stolen.

First impression is mixed. I feel like Im missing something as a new member. Was given a brief walk around yesterday of what the gym has by a nice guy, but I needed my checking account info to officially join, so I signed up online when I got home. Today I went to get my stuff around 11:30am and the people behind the desk werent interested in helping out. Said I was new, was given a tag and went to the bathroom and was told to get a photo when I got back. Came back to the desk, everyone was surrounding the office door talking, was asked what I wanted even though one of the workers looking at me obviously knew. I got the photo from someone else, then the worker went right back to talking to his friends. No intro, no shirt, etc. Didnt know what the photo was for, like if I was getting another card or if it was just for them, so I waited around a second. Again, was asked what I wanted. I dunno, you tell me. Asked for the shirt, they dont do it anymore. Went to check out the massage chair, another member told me I needed a coin. Left instead of asking for one. Going back at a different hour when hopefully the tour guy can give more info of how things work. How long can you use the chair? The hydrotherapy? Is it once per visit? Once per day? How do you sign up for classes and other black card perks? I dont know. Ill be cool after a run down, but come on guys, you gotta explain things to people who have never been to the gym and make them not feel like theyre bothering you. Thats pretty basic.

Padding ripped on some machines. Overall machines need replacing like they have in other gyms like Howard Beach. State of the art machines which track reps and rest times
