As far as the staff at active, they are very professional and respectful Ms. Jordan as been very helpful to me, but some of the jobs they may send you to are not run by respectful, competent people like the staff at active is, but overall active is a great place to work

This agency only caters to people who dont appear to speak English. I had luck finding jobs until I got offered a job at fresh direct. Not only was the person who interviewed me incompetent. She said I got the job but had no idea what the hours was what days Ill b working what days Ill have off or hourly wage. I declined the job offer and never came back. Also, be prepared to come at 5am some days and wait till 2 or 3pm only to be finally told there is nothing available and repeat process almost entire week. Its not worth it

For the most part Ive had good experiences with them. Started out by going to the office in queens where they sent me to a few places as a temp before finally shunting me to Fresh Direct. Everyone Ive met, from both the Queens and Manhattan office, have been nothing but friendly, especially Will and Nadia who are in charge of finding people to work at Fresh Direct.The place is great, considering they dont charge you a thing. They recently set up Direct Deposit so you dont have to constantly visit their offices just to get your checks. If you work for Fresh Direct keep an eye on the hours you work. Some of the people there are either lazy or forgetful and dont send your hours worked to Active, Ive heard of one case where the security guards were signing out one person while he was still working in the plant. If it happens to you let Nadia or Will know so they can figure out whats going on.About Fresh Direct, it is COLD in there so make sure you dress appropriately as youre basically working in a refrigerator for the better part of the day. Breaks are paid and they have coffee, although I personally think its terrible coffee, for free in their breaks rooms. The people at Fresh Direct are also friendly if you make an effort to get to know them. Ive also heard that working at their building on Review is loads of fun. The only bad things that come to mind about the place is, depending on the department, you might have to work a lot of overtime.

They helped me find a job that fits my schedule & pay rate, but I worked a whole week + overtime only to not be paid for any of my time the following week. I clocked in, and out at the job as I was told, I called up to active staffing maybe about 5 times to verify my hours, and I was hung up on every time. Very unsatisfying, I have very important things I need to take care of including transportation, but now I have no money to do any of it.

Make sure you like the first job they give you and that its a good one and etc because once youre out of a job thats when they all of sudden have nothing else available lmao which I dont get I mean people go in there every single day so that means you tell the new people the same thing ....have them sign up and then say you have nothing available? You are misinformed. I got off the phone with them three days ago and they told me in their words... You should have delt with that problem when the queens office was open now theres nothing me or my boss can do for you.That was the exact words from the staff. It was never about lack of jobs at the time I was called like I said before I was blocked and they dont want to atleast try to fix it.

Every time my phone rings and its Active calling me, I pick it up right away because I can tell that these people would give me lots of work available out in the city. I want to thank everyone here at Active Staffing for the help they have given me. I was out of work for several months and I had been going around to different temp agencies hoping to find work. I left most agencies feeling hopeful but as days and weeks passed I realized that they were not going to help me find work. Three days after I came in to active staffing, I was working. I was working with active two years ago and I got on the blocked list from queens and now that the queens office is closed they wanna tell me that they cant help me that they wont rehire me for an honest mistake that wasnt even my fault. I was in a shelter with my family. I have been trying to find a job for some time now. I walked into Active Staffing filled out an application and had an interview with one of the front desk clerks. I was invited to come in the next day at 5 AM. They found me a position at a warehouse. I did a great job and now the job is going to keep me long term. My family eventually moved out the shelter and we are doing ok. THANKS ACTIVE.

As i get older Im realizing the importance of working hard to get to where you need to be in life. I wouldnt waste my time here, one time I came in at 7:30 and there was a short, chubby Spanish guy, not Mr Vincent, I forgot his name. He was very loud and unprofessional and I sat and waited to be interviewed by him for 3 hours while he chit, chatted to his co-workers about nothing. I get a racist vibe there, it seems they show alot of favoritism to Spanish people. Please dont waste your time here.

For starter i also had used there services. and my honest opinion about them is simple. they will find you employment. and they could find you employment in a matter of a day. its just how you present your self to them. i did not have a problem getting employed with them i just had a problem with the pay at 7.25 a hour u just couldnt see my self bettering my self on a 200 dollars a week after taxes. so i cut my losses and decided to just keep on job hunting. that something i just felt i had to do. how ever if your one someone in desperate need of a job and your willing to work for peanuts. then there the the ones for you.

If you speak Spanish, You will not have a problem getting employment. From my experience there is a lot of favoritism, The employers dont care about there employees......a lot of slave ship work......you have to know someone behind that desk to get some work.....This company sucks! very long waits..........a waste of my time.

I guess everyones experience with Active Staffing depends on what they are looking for. My experience with Active Staffing has been very successful based on what my working needs are. I prefer to day to day temp assignments and both Laura and Anna call me from week to week offering positions for various locations. They are both very friendly and professional, even after I had a big time mess up, they still continue to help me out. If youre looking for full time work and better pay, then maybe this is not for you. As a college student with a hectic schedule, temping day to day has helped me not need to feel so tied down to a job position but also allows to have some money in my pocket to get by. Ultimately it depends on your needs.

Unreliable, they dont care if you are injured on the job you just get replaced and suspended/terminated. They also cater to Hispanic workers more than others.

Omg Worst Experience Ever!!!! After reading everyones review I decided to try this place for myself and it was horrible. I went in they were nice and very helpful at first. The lady looked at my resume and told me I needed to take something called a Prove It test in order to do clerical work. I had to keep calling them constantly over and over for them to send me the test in my email. I didnt get sent the test until 2 weeks prior to me meeting up with the lady. Then after taking it I had to wait an additional 2 weeks for them to get back to me. I still dont have a job and I feel like so much time was wasted!! Dont waste your time here they literally are crappy. I would never recommend anybody go here. Try somewhere else and save time!!!!

Let’s say it if u’re not Spanish u’re less likely to get a job with them! Registered and went there they made me fill out a paper ask me for references and said they were gonna call me in 24 to 48 hours! Never got that call instead I tried to call them back and ask for that same person but they always give excuses like she’s not working today or she’s not at her desk right now bla bla bla!!! It’s been 2 months now and I realize that I just wasted my time! So if u’re not Spanish or don’t speak Spanish please don’t go there and save yourself some time and energy! The two girls that work there don’t do anything except chit chat the entire time, they will LITERALLY talk in your face. Never come to this place.I went there several times to just be told the recruiter isn’t here come back.I did exactly that and had to bring documents in but I rescheduled the day to bring in the documents and they said I rescheduled all the prior times when it was them.The guy who answers the phone Andre is terrible.The Spanish recruiter David is very unprofessional.They mess up all day and there is no accountability for it but if you were to slip once they hold you accountable.smh.....don’t waste your time.

I read everyones review and if u feel that way then thats the way you feel, but they are helping you with something you cant find and that is J.O.B. It is suppose to help you get started to where you want to be and yes 7.25 is not a lot but at least it helps pay for something. Its not that many good paying jobs unless u have the advance qualification that they are looking for and your personality.

I had a great experience with Active Staffing! Nerys Colon helped me land a fantastic job in my salary range and in my desired field. There was great communication and constant updates after my first visit. Overall they have a very realistic approach to job searching. I had moved to New York City from South Carolina and after working on my own for several weeks and applying for positions that I could find, I was not hearing back anything from prospective employers. I decided to try working with a staffing agency or temp firm. After coming in to meet with Nerys, I was going on interviews within two days. Nerys listened to what I was interested in and made suggestions based on the opportunities that they thought would be a good fit for me. I think what was the most helpful though the entire process was that the people at Active were honest about what I was looking for and what they had available. Everyone here was professional, considerate and helpful.

Place looks run down. No approachable people, confusion, and looks like a miserable place to work for. You can taste the toxicity. There this one spanish lady that demeanor is just miserable.

From previous temp agencies I’ve dealt and worked for. This one is by far the first and last I’ll give my time too. Very unorganized, a lot of confusion and customer service is not at its standard. I got asked a personal question that was not pertaining to my help and so on. This place made me lose interest.

They only call you for work once or twice a week

A disorganized place with a hostile/uncaring staff. Was told to come 9am for a meeting and me and several other people waited almost an hour until we started getting seen. After the first meeting, havent got a call nor email on a potential job opportunity. Dont waste your time here.

First things first depending on where you are you have to get up between 3 and 4 a.m. you have to be there by 5 and to top it off sometimes they wont even have work for you there was one time I worked after I worked the supervisor refuse to sign my timesheet so I couldnt get paid for that day the staff are good but you have a few that are not willing to help you there are junkies there that are just working to get high you have former Jail birds in there that get offended when you say no when they ask you for a cigarette this is not the worst company I worked for but it gets one star from me because overall its a bad company and its very dirty

The people here are racist like most agencies in New York City especially if you dont speak Spanish they will miss treat you and talk to the Spanish speaking people in Spanish so that you dont know whats going on and give them the jobs and have you wait for hours just for them to tell you theres no jobs available

2 times I was not paid for my ACTIVE STAFFING SERVICE work hours.1.- Some time ago they did not pay me for my work hours, they told me that they sent an email to the client and that the client has said that I have not worked.2.- Now 8/26/2016 I was not paid for a job that has no check.3.- ACTIVE STAFFING SERVICE says that customers say it has not worked.4.- Go to work: get up early, have breakfast, prepare lunch, walk, take a train, take a bus to work and after one week the staff of ACTIVE STAFFING SERVICE says that there is no check or there are no hours and they say they will send a mail.5.- At the beginning they helped you to see work6.- ACTIVE STAFFING SERVICE says to go to work 5 days, but in companies work a few hours or 1 day.6.- ACTIVE STAFFING SERVICE is a temporary employment agency
