Called the 1st 4 local record player repair shops that came up on Google. 1st 3 places quoted high rates/long turnaround times, or suggested I trash my player & buy a new one. Then I called Hi Tech Electronic Service Center & was greeted on the phone by a friendly young lady. Brought in my player to meet her & the shop owner, Frank. It was repaired in less than a day, & at 1/4 the price the other shops had quoted. A humble museum of retro analog gear, I wound up purchasing a hard-to-find vintage Casio keyboard they had in the display case. Its also frequented by other music industry pros whom I met during both my visits (similar vibe to Rogue Music). My record players never sounded better. Franks the man, highly recommend!
I needed a stereo receiver with HDMI IMMEDIATELY. and didn’t want to spend much… I imagined this place and then I found it ! . Got exactly what I needed . Great service by Frank!
Amusing skillful technician- no fill and professional. I had my Macintosh C27 preamplifier and audio research PH1 phone preamplifier fixed. GOOD JOB and thank you!Best in the city
I took my turntable to be repaired and it was ready for pick-up in three days. The people are friendly and knowledgeable. The store is full of beautiful antiques. Give it a visit.
Im blown away thank you guys for fixing my laptop at a great price. Other normie computer repair shops told me my motherboard was toast and had to be replaced... clearly not!
I paid a repairman more than 100 dollars to look at my AC for 10 seconds and tell me I should spend 700 dollars on a repair or buy a new one for 800. Two days later, a friend just took it out of the window and opened it, and realized it was slightly dented in a way that was preventing the blower from working. It was perfectly fine. A huge waste of money I wont be back.
Apple Geniuses told my mom her iMac was shot. It was fried from an electric surge caused by a storm. The Genius told my mom it couldnt be repaired. That she had to buy a new one. I told her to ship it to me in NY. My plan was to take it to NYC repair legend Luis Rossman, but his staff told me they didnt do that kind of repair. They referred me to Hi-Tech. I trust Rossmans people and brought it here. They fixed it in 4 days and the service was super friendly. Even including the shipping cost of ferrying an iMac back and forth between 2 states, we still saved $1,000. From now on, anything that breaks is coming here!
My MacBook Air had water damage for over a week and I went to the an apple certified shop that was going to charge me $929. Not only the first shop I went to was going to charge me this absurd price, but also was going to make wait a whole week to get my laptop fixed. I waited a week later and came across Hi Tech Electronic Service Center and charged me 75% of what the first shop was going to originally cost me. They even took less than a day to fix my laptop which made me very happy ! Going all the way to Chinatown was worth the experience and the price.
I went to these people based on reading all the positive reviews on this site. Very bad experience, I feel cheated out of money and time.I brought My MacBook Pro for repair. The Mac was not charging on the original Apple Charger, I did the smc reset. I already, knew that it can be charged using an after market charger. However doing it that way bypasses the devices internal component protections. When the Mac Pro connects to the Apple Magsafe, it should turn green. So, after I paid Frank the $150.00 for the repair of computer, and picked it up. I went back and home plugged it in to my original Mac charger. It was not operational.I called them and they said come back to us, you have a 3 month warranty. I returned and brought with me my own charger, I showed him how its not chagrining, the light is not coming on. My charger was a little frayed, he looked at me like it my fault.I mentioned to him, that I also plugged this computer to a brand new Apple charger, with no difference. Then he pulls out his knock off Apple charger, to show me that it charges but with the knock off charger and when he plugs it in to the computer, the green light does not go on. I asked what going on? Its still not the way it supposed to work? Doing it that way, only charges the computer by bypassing the boards internal safe guards. Frank, the Indian man, tells me he fixed it. I told him this is not the way this is supposed to work. He shrugged me off fast, talking, saying that, he is in business for 20 yrs and walked off !!! He belittled me, very unprofessional people, I regret paying in cash. This totally unprofessional. After, this experience, I could not recommend this Company at all. I feel cheated out of my time and money. This review is an honest and accurate account of my actual experience, with Frank the Indian man and Hi tech computer service center on 47 Canal st.
Guys doing very good and fast repair job for reasonable price.
I needed my macbook repaired within a short window because it turned off when I was working on an application. The owner Frank was happy to prioritize my repair order and it was complete within a few hours. My Macbook is as good as new now. They replaced the port and the charging chip, cleaned all the components inside, and included a new charging cable. The price was very reasonable so I tipped the repairman. I highly recommend this shop!
EDIT: Unfortunately for me, the left speaker on the MacBook Pro didnt work great after the repair. I went back within a week of the original repair and the technician there looked at it immediately, and repaired the repair👍Candid service and highly skilled technicians that were able to quickly diagnose the issues for me it was a 2017 MacBook Pro.Parking in front of the Store may be available
I just went to Hi Tech Electronic Service Center to fix my record player. It turned out it wasnt broken and the rubber band (probably not the official term) needed to be reattached. The shop owner was incredibly kind and taught me how to replace / reattach the rubber band myself, should it happen again. He could not have been more patient and kind and to top it all off he didnt charge me at all! I will definitely be bringing any electronic repairs back his way in the future. Could not recommend enough - what a nice experience.
I brought in a Nakamichi BX-150 cassette deck to fix a hum from what I believed to be a grounding issue. The owner was friendly and confident he could fix the problem. He got rid of the hum and gave it a tune-up all for a reasonable price in a matter of a few days and I couldnt be happier. Ill be back for sure!
Had a wonderful experience here. I have one of those crappy Crosley record players you can get at Urban Outfitters (it was a gift). Anyway after a year it stopped playing sound, called crosley to get a new pin, didn’t work. Brought it here and he fixed it in a second. I got the impression that this guy knows his stuff. I’d bring any electronic repair to this place.
They fixed my powered monitors quickly and for a great price. Im glad places like this still exist.
They did a great job fixing the webcam on my MacBook Pro 2015. It took a little longer than originally estimated, but they came through and it seems to be working just fine. Thanks!
Great service and fair prices. I brought the circuit board of my washing machine to replace a component. The work was done in 15 mins and the machine works now! Thank you!
The best at what they do and their very professional. I highly recommend them .
I want to share my experience with Hi-Tech, which is similar to some reviewers and in sharp contrast to the all of the 5 star reviews. Feel free to decide for yourself.I went to Hi Tech to purchase a cassette tape player for a film shoot on Friday, January 22nd, 2021. I called ahead and everyone was really friendly and they had a portable cassette player ready for me when I arrived. The player is an old GE, probably from the 70s, and when I asked how much the store owner said $60. He said the tape player had been recently checked and refurbished. I asked if he would go lower and he went to $50. Still an insane price for an old tape player that you could find at a garage sale, but I needed it as a working prop in the film soon, so was willing to pay more. When the owner went to show me that it worked, he didnt have any C batteries, so he told me to go across the street to buy some, which I did. The C batteries, though, were old and had no juice, so the tape player didnt run. He told me he would take the player in the back and have his technician check it.I had my 18 month old daughter with me so I stepped out to feed her, and when I returned, the owner showed me that the player worked. He played it for 5-10 seconds and it worked, using a jimmyed power cord. I was ready to get out of there, now having spent more than an hour going back and forth between finding C batteries, the player working and not, and my daughter was starting to lose it. I said, Ill take it and if theres something wrong with it, I can come back. He said No, no, no. Basically, once I buy it there is no returning it. (I should have left right then!) No returning it to fix it? At a repair shop? After all of this, I still could not tell whether it worked on batteries because he had only showed me that it ran on a jimmeyed power cord. I definitely needed it to run on batteries for the film shoot! I was willing to take it for the exorbitant price if only I could be assured it worked, and was incensed that he would not give me any kind of handshake guarantee or anything like that. Nothing. You probably see where this is going... when I got home, I ordered batteries and tried out the tape player. It ate the tape and the right nodule in the player will not spin. When I record, it has a clicking sound, and to make matters worse, the Stop/Eject button works only about 1/3 of the time. In other words, it does not play tapes. It is not a working tape player. I cant imagine it was checked by a technician, or if it was the technician was incompetent.I trusted the owner and Hi-Tech to give me a working order tape player for $50, and learned only that I was a fool for doing so.When I checked the Yelp reviews before going, I saw 4.5 stars. I think the reviews are manipulated....I really mean the 1 star review. I had a terrible experience and am now last minute ordering another tape player from ebay that will hopefully work.I hope this review helps others who are considering buying used equipment from this store. Go elsewhere. The store owner is willing to look me in the eye, say the tape player has been serviced, and sell it to me for an exorbitant price, all the while knowing that the player may or may not work and that he is unwilling to fix it if it happens to be broken. I was naive in putting my trust in them and am never going back.
Superb service!!! Extremely friendly and they really care about their customers. They are not about taking advantage like most places.
I love this place because the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Warned me that they could repair my SONY FM/AM cassette walkman. However, it would be VERY expensive to do so. They show such honestly about this subject.
They fixed my record player! Took about 1 business day and was way cheaper than buying a new one. Ill be coming back if I need other items repaired.
I took the subway all way to the store. The guy is an Indian guy. Trying to get the most money from you. I don’t think he has much knowledge. He didn’t know what year my camara was or the model. He was asking me. He was asking the cost of the camera..! Then he implied that because the camara was expensive he would have to charge more. Not safe place to leave your broke camara.
Went back and forth to this place to get my turntable and stereo fixed more than 6 times. Every time I go there is a new problem, and nothing seems to get fixed. Wasted $150 here, and very disappointed. Put my trust in the team here time and time again, until now when I have to give up.
Great service! My vintage VPI turntable was playing a bit slow and had a lot of motor noise. They fixed it 100% and it sounds like a completely different turntable. Very competitive pricing as well. Will come back again!
Brought my turntable in today thinking it needed a big repair - the kind man at the counter was able to fix it in five seconds and refused to take any money from me. Spent some time looking around the shop at the very organized selection of amazing stuff they have...intending to go back soon to buy an amplifier. Very cool shop, extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.
DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my camera there to get it fixed and this place took my money, said they couldnt fix the camera and gave me my camera back in worse condition than when I brought it there! The SD card cover on the side of the camera was completely broken when they gave it back. When asked what the problem was they couldnt say and just gave a generic it could be many things..These people do not know what the hell they are doing and I would not recommend you go here unless you want to pay for someone to damage your property.
Went there today and I can confirm it was one of the best customer service I’ve experienced in NYC. the man who helped me not only was polite and great, but also honest. Nothing was wrong with my vinyl set, only needed a few touches ups. He did it right away and gave me some tips on how better maintain it. 100% recommended
Have gone to Frank for over 20 years. Always kind, honest, doesnt overcharge, very competent. Recommended to me by Canon company.Besides computers, also deals with TVs, radios, even antique ones. I highly recommend anyone go to him.
Diagnosed my machine quickly and said there was nothing wrong with it. No charge. These guys are awesome.
I would not trust anyone else here in NYC with my Audiophile Components. Just in the last month I have had two Vintage Mint McIntosh Component repaired and they did a complete diagnostic check on both. They always make that extra effort for their clients this is what sets them apart from the rest of the folks in this business.Frank and his staff of expert technicians are all about customer service. Always Professional and courteous and cost wise you wont find a fairer electronics repair shop in the try-state area. These folks take pride in what they do, this is a benchmark that Hi Tech has set for almost Three Decades now.I just picked up the McIntosh MA-6100 Int.Amplifier they repaired today...As always they went that EXTRA ...Fantastic !!!I want to thank Frank and his wonderful Tech. Staff for taking such wonderful care of my components !Angelo Donofrio...
Excellent service very very competitive prices. Highly recommend this place for repairs, I took my amp in and they got it sounding good as new.
What a fantastic service!I am not sure there is anything they cannot repair.Inadvertently I broke my main-boards display coupling off and was losing faith that it could be repaired. The micro-soldering required to repair this was not something I could find locally.A quick phone call to Hi Tech and I was confidant they could easily repair my device--Which they did! And they did it very quickly too.I highly recommend this company.
Brought my cassette player here after it wasnt playing at all and within a matter of 10 minutes they had it up and running again! And so kind too, definitely recommend!
I have used them to repair several vintage audio units ( reel to reel tape decks and stereo receiver amps) and they have restored the items perfectly. Will use them in the future also.
This is by far the best computer repair company in NYC. Ive been coming to them for over 4 years and theyve fixed every computer Ive had quickly and for more than half of what most stores do. They only charged me for labor on my laptop recently, even though they changed my LCD monitor and gave me a new keyboard. Ill be coming back to them for as long as I have any issues with tech.
Just picked up my Mac Air from these guys and they were simply amazing! Brought it back from the dead literally and cost was economical. Would recommend them to anyone!
One of the few electronic service centers with high quality and professional service thats offered at realistic costs. I have benefited from their services several times and all components perform at peak levels.
This place is wonderful. The owner Frank is an awesome guy. He sold me a wonderful Sansui QRX-7500A at a very fair price and went over it in detail before I bought it to make sure it was as good as new. I’m listening to it as I write this review and it is incredible! I was almost turned off of vintage amps because I was so tired of them failing and then taking them to sub par techs and then repeating the cycle. You won’t have that problem at Hi-Tech. So glad I found this place!
Went in today. Service was very quick and very good. Got an expensive Sony speaker fixed in a few hours after I was sure it was completely broken. This is my first google review ever but I just had to come on here and show support to this small business and their good service. If you have things in need of repair and need somewhere to go, this place is it!
Dropped off my vintage stereo to get repaired. The free estimate was completely reasonable, the service was fast (like 2 days!), and now my stereo sounds better than it ever has! They even cleaned the front and replaced all the little lights for the meters and tuner. Super professional, great service; you can tell they really care about high quality sound. I couldnt recommend them more.
Well done and before the agreed time. Recommended 👍Repaired: Sony A7RIII
Awesome place if you need electronic repairs. The people there are super nice and reasonable about pricing. Will be coming here for any repairs I need in the future.
I’ve had my marantz receiver repaired and serviced a few times here and it’s always fast and cheap. Love these guys!!!! —— Also very cool store —-
Excellent service and affordable!! Look no further for laptop repair. They fixed my laptop screen and keyboard after I spilled salad dressing on it and only charged me half the price for the new screen. I saved $150 here and my laptop is working better than before. They got it back to me within a week as well! I am super satisfied with the service!
The prices are crazy high. Be very careful about this place. They can fix your things but they will get you on the prices. They will give you a price but its done they will give you another price.
Great little repair shop. Saved my computer for a fair price when Apple wouldn’t even look at it. Very nice, responsive staff and the store is filled with cool vintage turntables, tape machines, and miscellaneous electronics that I always enjoy perusing.
One Star because none is not an option. everything wrong about this:1- We were offered FREE estimate and ended up having to pay for it2- We were told the laptop was going to be shipped today and a week later we had to call because we hadnt received it so they actually shipped out the day that we called.3- The laptop had a bad screen, thats why we sent it to them and we were able to use it with an external monitor but when we got it back, that was no longer an option, they messed that up.4- The guy Frank wasnt really nice on the phone to say the least.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO GET YOUR ELECTRONICS FIXED.
This store is a gem! I forgot my Dell laptop charger in Seattle (I live in NYC) and I needed a charger ASAP for work. They saved the day and provided this hard-to-find charger! I am so lucky to have found this place.Hi-Tech has an enormous selection of laptop chargers and odds and ends. NYC used to have tons of shops like this and they are rapidly disappearing. I am so happy they are still around! We can putter around until we actually find the part we need instead of being shipped the wrong part, returning it (or trying to return it) and starting all over again. Online is overrated. I tried 4 different places before finding what I needed.I bought a universal laptop charger at Best Buy and had to immediately return it because it did not work. Pro tip: Universal chargers are not universal and may inadvertently destroy your computer. I contacted Dell next to see what charger would fit my laptop and to see if they could ship it the next day. They gave me an obscure model number (all Dell chargers are not the same!) and the soonest they could deliver was in 5 days. They could do next day delivery but at high cost. I next tried Staples which indicated next day delivery but when I added the charger to the cart, the delivery day changed to a later date. I was taken aback by the bait and switch on the date and decided not to go with Staples (especially after reading the reviews). The reviews on Amazon were similarly not complimentary and I worried about getting a Chinese knockoff that would destroy my computer...because... Amazon. I entertained the idea of CDW but I was at the point where I was worried I wouldnt get the right model charger I needed since it is so easy for companies to ship the wrong charger as they all look alike,I found Hi-Tech and they tried a couple of chargers until we landed on a genuine product that worked!
They have everything old school you need and can fix analog devices as well
Hi Tech is simply the best place in NYC to get your electronic equipment repaired hands down. I go there for getting vintage audio equipment of mine like Real to Reals, tape echoes, compressors etc.. and recurve spectacular service every time. The kind of place that will actually just get going on the repair the second you bring you equipment in and get it back to you ASAP.. instead of most places which just give you a blanket “oh well have it back for you in 2 weeks to a month” answer when they haven’t even looked at Whatsup with the device yet. Come here and get your equipment repaired by people who actually really care.. best in NYC!
Joe did an incredible and prompt job refurbishing my 1974 Pioneer SX-737 receiver (before & after photos attached), and at a very reasonable price. It sounds great and looks brand new. This place is the real deal, and its rare to find such a good repair shop for analog gear these days so dont waste your time anywhere else!
Hey guys. Thank you for fixing my computer. It took some time but it was worth the wait. Thank you. I hope to do business with you again even that it was through CPS. GOOD JOB
Honest repair shop with honest pricing. Last of the Mohicans. Bring your stuff here for repair. Enjoy life.
Friendly service. Had a a really nice experience here getting my old stereo amplifier repaired. It was essential useless when I brought it in and now it sounds great!
Great service; you can tell this guy loves what hes doing, and hes a fast worker too. You may have to wait several days for the parts necessary for repair to arrive, but at least in our case the day the part arrived, the repair was complete. This shop goes above and beyond, even repairing parts that werent originally asked for (i.e. the power lights on our receiver that died several years ago). Highly recommend this shop.
Frank repaired my old receiver and speaker. Fair price, good work, super friendly. Customer for life now.
Frank saved the day! Repaired my broken, smoking, external hard-drive and uploaded all my back up files to a new one. So happy with their work and the price!
My canon 7D got damaged, I needed to fix it quickly. They provide high quality repair service for inexpensive price. They even were open in snowstorm early morning, so I easily dropped and pick my camera on the way to my work. I would definitely recommended this place for everyone who needs quick inexpensive and quality repair
Amazing company. I was extremely wary about sending my camera in for repair. Being out of state I had to trust that they would be honest and not pad the repair cost.OMG! They said there was nothing wrong with the focusing mechanism and suggested I check the lens I was using. Their customer service was great throughout the whole transaction. They will be my go to repair company, even though Im in California .
He was so kind and gentle, professional.I save money and time thanks to him!!I really recommend to here!!!
Good place to have your old style electronics repaired and cleaned up. Cassette decks, cd players, turntables. Reasonable. The owner is an honest guy and will stand behind the work even if it may cost him. Ive had good experiences mostly.
I like going to have my electronic equipments repaired by these guys. They are fair and professional. they are not like other places that just want to steal your money. I will recommend these guys to anyone reading this post. I have no connection with this guys, just browsing for a repair place and thats how I found them. 5 Stars.
Super nice people. Super fast service. They seem to know everything about everything. They gave a $75 quote for replacing my Imac hard drive with an SD drive (I brought in with me)... They charged me exactly that, with tax, one-day service and cloned my original drives files onto it.When I dropped it off, they said no we dont need the cable. Nor the keyboard. Nor the mouse, the external that I had backed up stuff onto, or anything. Just leave us the machine and the new drive.I am telling you: if you are seeking an electronics repair (computer; stereo; camera; videocam; mixer. etc)... GO to them FIRST. Theyll quote you over email or phone, if you prefer. Speak to Frank.
These guys are great!Coming home Friday night to find my 55 Panasonic Plasma TV dead I found Hi-Tech on Yelp....after reading the Yelp reviews I gave them I a call on first thing Sat morning--they were extremely helpful listening and diagnosing the problems, and were honest and clear about cost and timing options to repair. They came out to New York that day to pick up the TV, took it back to their shop, fixed it and had it back up on my wall mount the same day!Having had checked other repair shops locally I confirmed that their pricing was fair but their communication, responsiveness, knowledge and service was far superior to any other electronic repair alternatives.
Ive had no complaints about this place until recently. The woman who is at the front has terrible customer service. Basically told me to just get out and leave when I went to pick up my lens. When the owner is around everything is fine. I went while he wasnt there and her attitude was just disgusting. Just because of her alone I will never return to that place. Her attitude was very disgusting. I would not recommend this place to anyone if she is there.
I was referred by a friend to take my LCD flat screen to this store after been ripped off by another repairer. to my surprise i was welcomed warmly and they promised to give me a call after diagnosing my TV. I got a call same day and i was assured that the TV can be repaired and i could collect it the next day. they kept their words. the TV WAS REPAIRED AS SAID AND I WAS SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK. their price was affordable to me. i surely recommend this company to all.
I wish I was able to give negative reviews. I 1st brought in my Sansui AU-5900 which was stuck in protection mode. They repaired it at the agreed price. However when I picked it up, it was far more scratched then when I had dropped it off. So it is obvious no care is taken when handling items. A few months later I brought in a fairly rare Audio Pro B2-50 subwoofer which kept blowing fuses. Frank assured me they could fix it despite its rarity. When I picked it up, nothing was fixed at all. In fact there was still blown fuses inside the unit. When I called the shop, Frank yelled saying I was using the subwoofer wrong. All I was doing was turning it on and it was blowing fuses. Despite their warranty on labor and parts Frank refused to give me my 200+ dollars back after calling me a liar as I watched my subwoofer malfunction before my eyes. I have since taken the same subwoofer to Analogique Audio Repair who did a full restoration which included reflowing all solder joints, bias set, and various components replaced. Not to mention they did it for 50$ less than Hi Tech. If you value your money, gear, and time, please avoid this service center at all costs.
The Owner ( I think he is the owner) really the friendliest most informational NYer I think that i have ever met. My computers on/off switch button broke, and he was very nice in considering a less expensive option being that my computer is 5 years old and cost very little. He contacted me 24 hours later for pick-up and that was that! I am sitting on my PC writing the review. Note, they dont accept credit cards, so you have to bring cash. Great business!
This man is a genius. I came spilled soda on my macbook for the second time, and for the second tie he repaired it within 2 days. Also, he takes 20 of what Apple would take.Thank you so much !!
Hi-Tech Electronic is a hidden gem in lower Manhattan. They fixed a high-end Rotel amplifier for me after an authorized service center failed to do the job (twice), and at a lower price! Frank is fantastic, very knowledgeable & helpful. I highly recommend this establishment.
The on/off button on my DSL was broken and wouldn’t allow the camera to be turned off. Brought it in and these guys fixed it within 48 hours. Paid $120 which I thought was reasonable. Asked me to pay cash so just a heads up on that. Happy with the service.
My go-to place for equipment repair in NYC. I was recently in for service on my Zoom H6 audio recorder, which needed a new USB mini port and headphone jack. Where Zoom and another, more famous audio equipment service center said Id need to send it in to be replaced with a new unit (and pay $175), Hi-Tech was able to fix it quickly and affordably. They saved the day because I had a shoot that night and would otherwise have needed to either buy a new recorder at the full price or rent another to tide me over while Zoom unnecessarily tossed out my old unit, which was still perfectly functional outside of the two small repairs that needed to be made. Highly recommend!
Brought my tascam cassette recorder in. The gentleman at the counter knew exactly what was wrong. I walked out with. Fixed machine and it didn’t break the bank. Would do business again.
After being referred to by a friend I decided to take my Macbook Pro to this shop. Let me tell you it was working like brand new again! They gave me an affordable and great rate after they figured out exactly what was wrong and had it properly fixed fast just before my college semester started. Since they cover a variety of electronics I will definitely be back in the future if anything breaks again. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Best place in town to get your electronics fixed. Dont be lazy to take a trip downtown to get your stuff properly fixed
My television was repaired quickly and for a fair price. So thankful I ended up here! It was a great experience. 🙏🏽
We purchased a used professional camcorder that was supposed to be in perfect condition but arrived with a broken viewfinder. I brought it to Hi Tech, and they gave a reasonable estimate to fix it by the end of the week. Then, they called the next day to report the repair was already done. Hi Tech gave very good service at a reasonable price.
Great place! They saved my MacAir that I spilled water on. Their prices are much more reasonable than in Mac Store. I highly recommend this Service center.
As I was visiting NYC for the Christmas Holidays in 2014. I needed my laptop fixed, I found Hi-Tech online, and the reviews were amazing. I took my Asus laptop there. the friendly staff were able to assist me with fixing my laptop issues within (2) two days. Awesome service.
Entirely pleased with the repair made (to my DSLR!) Extremely fair pricing and... they accommodated me by doing the repair while I waited! Couldnt ask for more than that! !!! But wait... theyre also located only about 5 minutes from the Manhattan Bridge, the other side of Chinatown, and muni-meter parking is quite easy to find across from the shop and in the area. Being them your vintage camera, stereo system component, and many other aging electronic devices--- and they will examine it on the spot and, if they can repair it, give you a very fair quote. See Frank before going to other over-priced establishments. Youre apt to be pleased as I was.
Amazing selection of vintage amplifiers, audio, an cameras. Fair prices. They will help you find what you are looking for if you know the details of what you need.
Fantastic service. I have always used them and they are great and very professional. However the new Asian lady is extremely rude and nasty.
This is my go-to place for my electronic repairs. Been using them since 1998. Never had any issues or problems. The best.
Simply awesome. Fast, quality, professional and intuitive. I would trust my vintage equipment with no other. Also, fantastic repete service.
Lifesavers! Came in with a possibly broken battery and they discovered it was just a broken charger! Service was fast and very friendly! I also enjoyed checking the display of all the old electronics. Will be recommending this place to people.
Problem with the video on my Thinkpad turned out diagnosed quickly, they called me with the price and date - very fair pricing and reasonable date. Had them do a memory upgrade in the meantime. They kept me up to date on what was going on, fair price, and nice people to deal with!
Charged my laptop for me when my charger broke. Very helpful and generous. Really saved me.
I had recently bought an Olympus f1.8 lens and adapter to use on my Canon EOS to use for my first official photography job and days before the event my lens adapter got stuck to the camera body. I could jiggle it, but it wouldnt twist off. I researched the problem online and was very scared to find that incorrectly taking it off could break the sensor! So I called the store and a gentleman told me to come right in, he didnt seem alarmed at all. When I got there, Frank put my mind at ease and told me not to worry. Within a few minutes, he removed the stuck adapter and pointed out a screw that was probably the culprit. He remedied the screw and tested it out on THEIR OWN camera just to make sure it wouldnt get stuck on mine. They were very kind, knowledgeable, helpful and honest. I feel so very lucky to have found this place and now saved it to my contacts for the next gadget that breaks. Thank you Frank, Irene and the gentleman who answered the phone for running a business with so much integrity!!!!!!!
These guys were brilliant. They repaired my cassette deck so its never sounded better, were super quick and the price was exceptional. Highly recommended.
I traveled from Queens to Manhattan and it was worth it. Great service that was willing to help and Frank was very honest. Highly recommended!
If you want nothing less than quality repair from great people, this is the place to be for you. I have been here before and they definitely do a great job.
They quoted me $50 to fix a tape recorder. They said it would take a few days. It took them over a month and they didnt fix it and they ended up charging me $100. They dont seem to be capable of any basic repairs. A friend took a guitar amp to them for repair. They charged him $30 and said there was nothing wrong with it. I opened it up and was able to fix the problem in 20 minutes. Stay away from this place
Not only did Hi Tech have the panel I needed for my 2017 MSI GS-63 VR in stock, but they gave me an incredibly fair price. They also turned the repair around in under and hour!
