Brought over a $2000 Paul Smith suit to have the sleeves shortened and the trousers tailored. Waited over 2.5weeks to get them back only to whined up leaving them for another two weeks. Pants were not properly done. Suit jacket sleeves way too short. Sam took them back and said all will be fixed. Unfortunately this was not the case. The work was not properly done. You can see from the photos. Where the sleeve meets the shoulder should not be so wrinkled, it should be a nice clean finish. There was even extra loose thread sticking out. Over a month pasted since I first brought in the suit. I just took it elsewhere and that tailor agreed the work was not properly done. Over $200 down the drain. I rarely post reviews but feel all the positive reviews can be misleading.

We had a custom suit made here! I have nothing but kind words for Sam and his team at Wazin Custom Tailor and Alterations. My parents wanted to get my Fiancé a suit for our wedding so I researched what kind of suit was best and settled on a full canvas with the best material we could afford. While indochino and suit supply were far closer than Wazin, I really wanted ADVICE on what would make my man look his best and to discuss what makes the best looking, longest lasting suit for our budget. Sam was transparent about what could be accomplished for our budget. All said and done, we took the suit home after 2 fittings and it looks SO good on my fiance. Unlike a popular chain of mens suit stores, Sam really took his time to explain each fabric, stitch and pattern and WHY the combinations would work - rather than brush off our questions. He truly cares about his craft and sharing his knowledge of that craft with customers, which he did with incredible patience. I could genuinely tell our business was important to him, and that he holds his service, himself, and his business to a standard of excellence. A rare place, indeed - the reviews are on par with the service me and my significant other received.

The quality of service and suit that I received from Wazin was beyond exceptional, and the funny thing is I found the place completely by accident. I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone who is looking for something handcrafted with absolute love and attention to detail. Every little aspect of your suit is painstakingly gone over with you by the tailor so you know you are getting exactly what you want. I’ve waited many years to buy my first custom suit, and I am ecstatic that Wazin was the first shop to make it. I will absolutely be going there for all my future suit needs.

Heard great things about Wazin through some menswear blogs online before moving to New York. Had two suits that I bought off the rack and needed a tailor to narrow down the perfect fit. Wazin is incredible knowledgeable when it comes to tailoring and fitting the garment to ones body. He was happy to provide advise through the fitting process in order to get the fit I was looking for. Pricing was very fair for the quality and attention to detail you get. Couldn’t recommend him more and will definitely be back with suits/shirts/trousers down the line.

Before I came to Wazin’s I had three jackets altered by another tailor. They did a terrible job! I didn’t want to give up them though, so I called the store of one of the brands of the jackets. They recommended Wazins!What a great job they did to repair the poor quality work of the other tailors. I didn’t have high hopes really, but they hit it out of the park!I highly recommend them to anyone who reads this review. Simply put, you’re fool to trust your clothing with anyone else.

I went to Wazin to get Alterations done for my wedding tuxedo. My vest fit perfectly, but the jacket and pants needed attention. When I put my pants not only didnt button, but they were so tight around my calves and thighs. The arm holes of the jacket were far to tight. It made putting on and taking off the jacket very difficult. Wazin was efficient and respectful making suggestions. He made feel much better about the situation. When I arrived to pick up my tux, I tried it on and it was perfect. Im not confident many tailors could do what he did. From now on, I will always go to Wazin. I cant wait to dance comfortably at my wedding!

Originally from Nashville,TN moved to the big Apple when covid settled down for a bit. I’ve been working for around 5-6 months adjusting to the city life rotating between 2 suits throughout the week. Obviously they wore out became wide and saggy and needed some alterations. As someone from the south we like to support small businesses and I found this gem. Gave him one suit to adjust while I was out and he honestly finished earlier than I expected about 8 days gave him the 2nd while I wore the one he altered, amazing true fit.Definitely recommend and will continue to do business with him

After a lot of research, I came here because I needed the arms/shoulders taken in on a semi-expensive coat and was nervous to take it just anywhere. Thankfully, they performed a truly seamless job. It genuinely fits just how I envisioned, and the work is immaculate. Super friendly as well (just as important to me as the service, honestly). So, now this is my new go-to for alterations.

This business is a God send. I dropped of a pair of pants yesterday basically to be reconstructed because I lost 40 pounds. I needed the pants this weekend for an event. The team was able to get my pants back to me today. That is less than 24 hours! Although it was such a short deadline he happily took the pants in and promised to have it back to me. Ive been using Wazins services for over two years. He has altered a number of trousers and jackets for me, and has created some bespoke trousers as well. The quality of the bespoke pants in particular is fantastic. Ive had nothing but good experiences here. The fabric options range the spectrum of affordability, and Sam is always willing to provide suggestions when necessary. I plan to continue using Wazin going forward.

I have a silk Paul & Shark jacket that is the jacket I wear almost daily. Though it is a classic Paul & Shark, they decided not to make it anymore (they had been making it for over thirty years) and mine really needed to be replaced. I hoped it could be restored even though I knew that would mean taking it completely apart, replacing parts of it, and then putting it all back together. An incredibly difficult job. Sam Wazin did exactly that, and I now have a brand new jacket for the next ten years! He did such a fabulous job, you cannot for a moment tell that it isnt a brand new jacket. I cant tell him enough how much I appreciate what a fantastic job he did. After this, I know very well that there is absolutely nothing in the world of tailoring that Sam cant do!!David Morton

Mixed experience. Back in June, they tailored a dress wonderfully for me and pants for my husband last minute and had it all ready by 2pm the next day. I was very happy and grateful, so when I needed a brand new $2000 dress taken in and hemmed for a gala, I came two weeks before the date of the event for tailoring. BEWARE: When I picked the dress up two days before the event, I was handed my silk dress crumpled up in a ball in a bag (not hung up as protocol). When I got home, there was a huge spot right in the front of the silk dress (that was most certainly not there before as I tried it on for the tailor and it was brand new). I was SO disappointed and furious, not to mention desperate to have it cleaned ASAP and had to pay 150$ at a special cleaner to have it done. Wazin offered to pay the cleaning bill, but that doesn’t make up for the time lost or frustration. I don’t know what type of tailor does this to a dress. Needless to say, I will never return.

I was in New York on a business trip. While walking over to the clients office on the first day, as luck would have it, I incurred a large rip on the side of my dress. I frantically googled nearby tailors, and noticed Wazin was fairly close by, with very positive reviews. I stopped by, and was greeted pleasantly and promptly. They fixed my dress on the spot, and with no charge! I was in and out within a matter of minutes, and able to get back to meetings, and making the right first impression. I had an event that I bought a beautiful white jumpsuit for, but it was too tight. I was sure that I would have to return it in exchange for a bigger size, but Sam was able to alter it and give me a full inch. He did it in a timely manner as well. It was perfect.

Amazing tailor, was recommended by a coworker who always dressed impeccably and I brought all my suit jackets and cots for alterations and Wazin made them look brand new. Really knows how to make clothes fit uniquely to your body.

He used to be much better and more careful when he actually used to do the alterations himself. Now he has his inexperienced staff mostly do all the measuring and pinning. And even when he is able to help on that rare occasion, his attention isn’t really there as he far more interested in selling his bespoke clothes.One time, while working on an alteration for me, he stopped mid-work because someone came is for bespoke clothes, and he had some random woman finish the alteration. Still guide charged the same high price, regardless.

The best place to be for any alterations. i had a tuxedo that was my favorite since i gain a little it wouldnt fit and didnt want to let that go.Sam did a great job fixing it back for me for my brother wedding. he is amazing tailor and amazing person too. highly recommended!!!!!!!

Do your research, but these guys are well known for quality and working with high-end clothiers.Given the background of the tailor and the quality vs. price, this is the place to go when you need something done well and have no regard to price.As an example, I had them tailor a vintage Burberry trench coat. However, I would not necessary approach them for more mundane tasks.

I learned about Sam Wazin through blogs and reviews online, so while visiting New York in April I decided to book an appointment to order a custom suit. I was pleasantly surprised to find Sam in the shop, busy assisting a longtime customer who promised I’d enjoy my experience. Sam was very attentive and detail oriented. He explained the cut and slope of each suit he offered, and provided the expert advice I needed to select the right fabric and style. The suit took about a month to arrive from NYC to DC but is pure perfection. He absolutely nailed the fit, which is impressive considering I only had one fitting. When I put it on, the suit feels like I can play ball in it and not feel restricted. Quality on this level is hard to find at Sam’s price point. Because he’s a master tailor, Sam is an expert at crafting a suit that fits your body. Next time, I think I’ll commission a bespoke suit. I highly recommend Sam Wazin if you’re in New York and in the market for a custom suit.

I was happy with the fix to the shoulder seams in my North Face shell jacket. I had burst the shoulder seams in a couple places by wearing a bulky sweatshirt underneath.
