I called at 9:30 am on a Sunday, got an appointment for 10 am the same day, and got a great haircut from Sam. I will come back for sure! I appreciate Sam taking his time and his attention to detail.

The neighborhood will miss Issac. His brother Sam has taken over the shop and I have to say he is better than most of the barbers in the neighborhood. He spends full 30 mins on a proper hair cut and goes about his trade diligently. He remembers what works on you and is very pleasant to deal with. Just make an appointment as he doesnt like rushing with his clients so you could end up waiting for a while without one.

I tried 6 or 7 different barbers in NYC before I found Sam. Havent gone anywhere else in 3 years. I have thick curly hair which can be a challenge to cut evenly... Sam is very thorough and takes his time, always giving me a nice cut and me not worrying about having to go back for touch-ups. I have followed him to his new location. Highly recommended, tremendous value!

Just took my boys for the first time (4 yo and 7 yo). Sam is the best. Quick, great cut. Lollipops for the kids (plus no itchy necks - their key measure of success). Sam’s lovely and the price can’t be beat. Great local spot to support.

Issac’s brother Sam has been my barber for over 20 years. I have traveled to him from as far as NJ to Long Island when he worked there. He recently took over the barbershop after the unfortunate death of his brother. Sam is top notch, never rushes, spends equal time with each and every customer, and always gives a great haircut and quality shave. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation.

I had been getting my hair trimmed up at Isaacs since I first started school in the city in 2016, he always knew what to do from my confusing instructions and was always so pleasant to talk to. His brother, Sam, just gave me my first haircut since Isaac passed, we chatted about what a great person he was, and Im happy to say Sam is just as amazing as Isaac was. A great family, a great haircut, definitely worth your time.

Sam is super friendly and gave me and my son great haircuts at a very reasonable price. The store is a family business that has been serving the Village for a long time. Well be getting our hair cut here from now on!

I have been going to Isaac since I was 15, now I’m 26 and I’ve never let another barber touch my hair. I’ve been with this barber over the many times it’s location has moved. A few weeks ago, I entered the shop and saw someone familiar, but it was Isaac it was his son. Sadly, Isaac passed away suddenly from a heart attack and his son has taken over the business. I fought tears back the entire time I was getting my haircut. Isaac always took you in, was fast, efficient and so sweet. I remember him giving me money for a soda when I was younger in the summer time, or how my mom used to take me to him when I didn’t want to go alone. His son is continuing the legacy of this amazing West Village barber shop, and his father taught him well. Rest In Peace, Isaac.

I have been going to Sam for a couple of years now, and every time he finishes cutting my hair I say the same thing to him, Damn Sam, youve done it again!. He provides such an amazing value, as he states, a $50 hair cut for the price of $25, and on top of that is a very genuine person, I cant recommend him enough!

I dont know how to write this.... Im still so sad... I went there today to get a haircut after pandemic thing... I live 2 hours away from the barbershop and i still going to the same place after all these years. I never think of changing my barbershop just because i live too far from it. You know it’s a man thing. There is a connection between man and his barber. Anyway, i went there today and I saw a young man who does the hair cuts instead of Isaac. I asked where is isaac? He said “my father has passed away 10 days ago because of heart attack. I was shocked. He was too young for a heart attack. Im still so sad. There is no bright side for this situation but i need to say this, his son has the same gods gift as his father. I got one of my best hair cuts today. May the god bless his soul. I see you on the other side uncle isaac. Rest in peace.

Awesome, authentic NYC barber shop! I called up & Isaac answered, letting me know they were available to cut my husbands hair. Arrived 15 mins later, to a wonderful little barbershop, just like you see in the movies. Isaac was confident, very nice, chatty, experienced and extremely skilled. Hes a pro, and gave my husband the exact cut he wanted, in less than 15 mins. I literally cannot understand how anyone would leave a review less than 5*! This place is brilliant, dont believe anything negative! Definitely returning, Thank you :)

This place is wonderful! The prices are affordable and the service is excellent!..it is a great secret in nyc..Andetson Cooper cuts his hair there. You can imagine is a very good spot. Don t miss it!

I was grateful to find Issac’s after going to a nearby barber that was charging too much for the simple haircut I need. Issac’s is no frills and to the point. Great for a quick cut. I was in and out of his chair in 15 minutes and the cut was exactly what I came for. Anderson Cooper is a regular here and the shop is littered with emphemra to prove it. Celebrity or not, Issac’s provides a quality cut at a reasonable price!

Very fast, good barber. Showed him a photo of what I wanted, he got to work and in less than 15min I was out of there with a great cut. Has a loyalty program as well. Was friendly and it was pleasant to be there. Anderson Cooper knows whats up!

Small shop, and near work so I figured I would give it a shot because it was cheap. HUGE MISTAKE. The guy wasnt paying attention while buzzing my hair, answering his phone, adjusting the radio, basically anything except his job. He took out CHUNKS. Didnt even try to fix it. There was a full bottle of Glenlivet ON THE COUNTER, and probably an empty one in the garbage. Didnt even give me the cut I asked for, but I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Then he tried to give me punch card good for a cheaper haircut after seven punches, and a discount. Discount I took, but the card went straight in the garbage. Im going to need to get a haircut later, just to fix the haircut I got today!!

Been going here for 10+ years; through two store front changes. Solid place. Never a bad cut. I’m pretty sure the Anderson Cooper thing is a well perpetuated urban legend, but marketing. This is the kind of small business this area needs more of.

Wanna know why its two times cheaper that everything else around? Because a cut + shave lasts 25 minutes ... The cut was passable, the shave was terrible. You get what you pay for, which in this case I would not recommend unless youre looking for a quick cheap haircut.

Sloppy trimming of beard. Shaving my head was directly unpleasant, and my head was left with a red rash. I even straightened up my beard when I was home at my hotel, and my head got a good cream 😞 I cannot recommend this barber.
