This place is a gem in NYC. Been coming for a few years, Sandra is top-shelf! She is pleasant, always spot on with the cuts. Yet to meet the owner, but will let him know he has a wonderful shop. Prices are just right for NYC. You cannot go wrong. Will try the other locations if in the area one day. Again, i don’t review a-lot - only for a few out there. Thanks 👍

I am using their service since 2018. Great experience so far. Not the cheapest one but service is satisfactory. In 2018, it was 25 USD for a haircut. Now they charge 28 USD for it.

Went to this barber few weeks ago as I was passing by. Asked the barber if was ok with walking and his approach was unprofessional. Asked him for a hot bear shave and end up getting a trim. Sandra goes out of her way to make sure you get all the individualized attention and care one could possibly ask for. She is detailed and is a great conversationalist and can assess your mood if you don’t want to talk. This place also gives drinks and water accommodating those waiting and is equipped with chargers for your phones. Can’t recommend it enough.

The location is always clean, hospitality is abundant, and everyone seems to go a bit beyond to ensure you have a good experience. (For example, not rushing you, offering complimentary drinks, and ensuring your expectations are met prior to finishing)I have lived on the Upper East/Midtown East for two decades - and seen many shops come and go. This is one to stay. The staff there is extremely skilled - especially Tatiana, who I followed to Elegant after she decided to move on from her previous employer in the neighborhood.This is a full service shop: they do great hot shaves, precise scissor haircuts for more complicated hairstyles, to anything really that a customer could want.Again, the difference between this shop and the others is the space, cleanliness, hospitality, and the skill of the barbers.Tatiana is the best in my opinion, so try to call ahead for an appt with her, but, if she is busy, then I still believe you will be in good hands here.

I had a great experience here about 3 weeks ago. I was visiting NYC for a friends wedding, and needed to find a place that could give me a quality shave. Fortunately I was staying only a couple of blocks from this barber shop. It was fabulous. A woman named Sandra helped me. She was very nice, and I was very impressed with the techniques she used to give me the smoothest shave for my head and beard I think Ive ever head. Quite remarkable. It was $25 each I think for both services, but I thought it was worth it for the occasion I needed it for. The entire place was very clean and welcoming as well. If I ever stay in NYC again, I hope I get the chance to come back here.

Elegant has an amazing team fromBrooklyn to NYC!!I found Max 5 years ago just for a beard trim and it took me two years to let him touch my hair (because I had my fancy salon that I was paying $85 for cut and I was with my stylist for 10 years). After getting a cut from Max, I never looked back..... he is talent and he lessons. I’m very fortunate that I have access to two Elegant locations, one by my house is park slop and one by work, so it’s super convenient for me. Give them a try, you will not be disappointment.

I’ve been coming here since they opened. The first two chairs on the left give consistently good haircuts (which is the only reason I’m giving it more than one star). However, if you get in any other chair it is unbelievably hit or miss. Over the last couple of months they have hired more people to fill out the other chairs, and each person that they have hired gives worse and worse haircuts. It’s sad that this place has sacrificed the quality of their haircuts by not vetting new barbers that they employ. If you’re looking for a consistent haircut, I would strongly recommend exploring some of the other options in the area, as I know I will be.

Great experience. Exceptionally great haircut. $25 for a wash, haircut, and a nip of whiskey if you wish. They really took the time to make sure it was excellent. Lots of places phone in a crew cut / crew cut variances but not here.The new go to for sure. Welcome to the neighborhood!

This new location is top-notch, designed beautifully and still with the same great service that I experienced at the Park Slope location. This place is amazing! My boyfriend comes here every two weeks no matter where we are, 5hours away at university or 45 minutes in brooklyn. It is worth the trip. They give great hair cuts for a good price and the stylists are super attentive. Definitely a must if you need to look good for any occasion.

My husband usually goes to the same barber for more than 3 years,but we were on a shopping spree nearby and decided to stop by this new barber shop. it’s very spacious,clean and well designed. Our barber was listening to all our advices and gave a suggestion to try to give the hair more texture. The service was really good. I got a coupon on Groupon (Yes they do accept one) and so i decided to have a haircut here. The hair stylist was professional and often asked me if she was doing it right or needed more styling. They give a wash as well before starting the haircut. This surprised me as i have never been to a hair salon that gives a nice hair wash and then begins haircut. Definitely recommend this place.

Its a hidden gem, which is located 2 blocks from popular shopping center Bloomingdales. Even though I live in Brooklyn and the commute is not easy, but its totally worth it. The subway is just a block away. Those folks are very friendly and they do an outstanding job. What else can you ask for? CheckEm out and you wont regret. Highly recommend this barber shop.
