My husband and I came here for the weekend. The staff is wonderful and so is the food and drinks. The room was also very clean with great views. The sheets and pillows were very nice, but our only complaint, and the reason why we didn’t stay another night (we were considering) was the mattress- it was very stiff and we didn’t sleep well. This is the only reason I took off one star. My recommendation to the Mandarin would be to get more comfortable mattresses, and we look forward to returning back then :)

For breakfast that is $30 and is offering bagel and lox in a city that has some of the best to offer the Mandarin Oriental is very underwhelming. Generic bagel, poorly cut lox and cream cheese that left a lot to be desired. Seriously, cant you guys partner with Russ and daughters and make it amazing and worth the outlandish price?Otherwise the view is sick and the experience screams luxury... To bad the food was not any of that.

Mandarin Oriental is the most pleasant hotel we have stayed in so far. The guest service agent was very efficient and helpful when we checked in. He even guided us to the elevator and showed us the location of the spa. The evening housekeeping service came by after we checked in to the room and asked us if we need anything or additional amenities. We need to stream Netflix and an IT technician came by to set up an Apple TV device for us to enjoy our favourite shows. All of them have provided us with their professional, courteous and exceptional service. The most amazing thing is their WOW factor. Unbelievable!! They surprised us with a complimentary champagne, macaroons, desserts and a congratulations card for our wedding honeymoon. Love it!! The suite room has an amazing view of Central Park. My husband and I were very thrilled with the design, the setting and the cleanliness of the suite. We enjoyed it very much. Super exciting and relaxing staying in the suite. Not only that, their room service breakfast is surprisingly tasty as well. Their hashbrowns are the best! Staying one night in this hotel has given me and my husband the most unforgettable and memorable sweet experiences and memories. Mandarin Oriental Hotel really deserve to be a 5 Stars Hotel.

We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation and we were spoiled from check-in to check out! When I first phoned and spoke with the concierge about our plans and needs, he was most accommodating. Truth be told, I canceled a reservation we had at another hotel to book here due to his attentiveness and helpful disposition (I hate I didn’t get his name). We booked a suite and two rooms on a high floor with Central Park views at his recommendation and we were beyond pleased. The entire staff here is amazing! When the concierge brought up some balloons, flowers and champagne we had ordered, they also brought up a beautiful little cake they made just to celebrate this special event ~ such an unexpected and delightful touch! The restaurant staff was also very friendly, helpful, and understanding as our photographer was trying to grab a few photos of us from their stunning views of the city. We had breakfast here each morning and drinks and apps in the afternoon and enjoyed everything. The rooms and suites are gorgeous and exceptionally clean, the staff is top-notch and so gracious, and they made our stay most memorable. The Mandarin will be our go-to whenever we are in the city!

We enjoyed our stay immensely. We had a lovely room with a parc view. The staff in the lounge restaurant was very nice and took great care of us. The food we enjoyed at the restaurant was excellent. Our only disappointment was that 2 Continental breakfasts ordered through room service on our day of departure cost us $105. Rather a steep price, we felt, even at the Mandarin Oriental, for just a light breakfast, before our early departure for the airport. Yet, we do hope to return to the Mandarin Oriental someday for another luxurious stay in NYC.

I have been enjoying the lounge facilities here for over fourteen years and have never been disappointed. The spectacular views and amazing facilities are abundant. The staff is uniformly polite and friendly. The concierges are knowledgeable and helpful. An excellent experience overall and it all continues... Ironically, the lounges are now filled with locals and the staff are foreigners. Fascinating times.

The hotel itself is quite nice. There is no denying that. This was a bucket list for me. Super high room with a view over central park and that delivered.I would say if you are younger there may be other options for you if you are looking for something fancy. This is certainly more an atmosphere for much older clientele. I felt very out of place in this location. Thankfully it was just the hotel that i just went back to in order to put my feet up and sleep in.I would typically give 5 stars for the service provided and the quality of the place but for the price paid I had to knock a star. I went to a different location on my same trip that was cheaper and honestly far nicer.

This hotel positions itself like a high class 5 star hotel. However, dont be fooled by the brand name; the service is like in a usual middle class hotel. I was there and every time I ordered in-room dining I had to wait more than one hour. If you ask them when your food is going to be ready they never give you the right answer. The waiters in the lobby are not paying attention at all and you had to shout your request to be heard. Furthermore, my friend shared with me absolutely same experience. He also had to wait about hour and a half to receive his order. For money you pay, you only have nice view from the lobby which you cant enjoy because you are annoyed of waiting your croissant. Mandarin hotel, while is ok, absolutely doesnt worth the money you pay.

This review is solely for the bar/lounge:Weve visited the lounge a few times this year for drinks and are always left with a meh feeling. That meh feeling is well masked by the INCREDIBLE views of Columbus Circle and Central Park. It really is a knock out experience. While everyone is pleasant enough, I find the service lacking. Every time I go- its almost comical at this point- I ask for a glass of water (because its 90+ degrees outside) as I order my cocktail and it never comes. I ask again, it never comes. Its near impossible to order a second round of drinks because every time, somehow, we seem to get a waiter who doesnt want to attend to our table. Im aware we arent dining in, but with enough attention we would usually order a few rounds of drinks. Either way, we are polite and dont take up a table for hours on end. Usually our stops were pre or post-dinner drinks. On our last visit, we brought family who were in town. I made a reservation months in advance, requesting a window table, and even called to emphasize my request. I know its a request and not a promise, but I was led to believe it wouldnt be a problem- especially with so much lead time. When we arrived, we were put in a table far back from the window. When I inquired about a window table, I was patronized and given the rudest of responses. We stayed for our drinks, and 25 minutes later were moved to a window table. I suppose this worked out because it took that long for our drinks to arrive. As you can guess, we never saw the waiter again until 40 minutes later when we flagged down a busboy asking for our check. Wed given up on another round. As we were waiting for the elevator to leave, the waiter runs up to us and tell us that he ran one of the credit cards twice, instead of splitting the bill 50/50 between the two cards given. What. A. Mess. We decided to just leave and take care of the financials amongst our group later.Between the meh service and the attitude, we wont be back. There are equally fabulous bars in New York with a much better and extensive cocktail menu that we continue to have fantastic experiences at. Mandarin will no longer be a place we bring guests, which is a bummer because we live so close and truly that view is awesome. But not awesome enough.

I stayed in Mandarin for more than two weeks and can surely tell it doesnt worth its money. In-room dining was taking too long. Once I waited for my order one hour twenty minutes, and my order was just a few croissants. The staff in the lobby barely pays attention on you. I literally had to shout out loud Excuse me!! to get an attention. It might sound like a not big deal, but it is one for amount of money you pay. But they have a very nice view from the lobby.

Service of the rooms was immaculate. Really outstanding.People are very nice and very helpfulEngineering services could be better. Our room had a problem where the tub was running at full water output and wouldnt shut off. It took over 90 minutes for engineering to come. Happily, the drain was good enough that there was no flood. There is just one restaurant which is expensive. There is a bar/atrium which requires advance reservations. It has a great view of Central Park. From the 3rd floor you have access to the Shops at Columbus Circle where there are some great restaurants (Per Se, Masa) and some good casual places too.10 minutes walking to Lincoln Center.Book directly with Mandarin Oriental and you may get some better terms (unless your company has a corporate deal)

This is specifically for the Aviary. Was quite disappointed with the drinks specifically the wizard staff. This is the most expressive drink/s. It serves 4 and is quite a show when they serve it. It is 4 separate drinks to share with the table; the disappointing part was that all 4 seemed to remind me of college. It tasted like cheap juice mixed with bad liquor. I understand this was mostly about show but at the price and how well know this bar is, the most expensive drinks on the menu should not be this bad. Other drinks were quite good but this really left a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively and literally.

We were here at the Aviary for a window seat at breakfast on Thanksgiving Day with a fabulous birds-eye view of the annual parade sponsored by Macys. All organised with the brilliant assistance of the hostess, Julia, with many thanks. The views over Central Park early that morning were breathtaking. We had the best seats in the place and settled down for the parade with some tasty pastries, juice and cawffee. The Parade passed (due to high winds the balloons were very close to the ground, and not at their best), but the excellent cooked breakfast hadnt appeared. We arrived a little before 8am and it didnt arrive until nearly three hours later, with free cocktail and many apologies in the meantime. We werent particularly bothered - we had ho no conflicting commitments - but we were more than a little peckish by then. One expects more from an establishment with this reputation, but it was the only blemish in what was an unforgettable experience.
