Its a great venue security is nice and they give free water woo hoo hurray for free water
Saw one of my favorite bands between the buried and me. I will be back. Great sound and awesome theater atmosphere.
Great show. Saw Steve Hofstetter and 2 more. All 3 were very funny. Many safety precautions. Lots of polite staff. Folding chairs not comfy.
The staff here is so ridiculously friendly!
Listen, Im giving this 5 stars because I saw a podcast I loved and it seemed like all the seats were pretty decent regardless of location and the drinks werent too expensive. So, like, is this a thorough review of the venue? No. But they hosted something I love and thats enough for me to give them a great review. Support the theater and keep it going so it keeps your favorite acts and podcasts and bands and comedians and shows and all that jazz.
Excellent Indeed XO
DAVID ARCHULETAS PERORMANCE WAS A++
Man, where do I even start with this venue. 8t was such an awesome experience for my wife and I. Drove to NYC from Pittsburgh to see our favorite band, Veil of Maya. Didnt have to wait long outside, got right in at 6pm and went to the merch / lounge area downstairs which was such an awesome area. The best venues have separate rooms for the merch, btw. Bought some merch, bathrooms were also VERY clean and then went into the actual concert space and my pregnant wife was so elated to see...SEATS. We went right up and grabbed some seats, got comfy and enjoyed the show. It was cool, comfortable and overall a great experience in that venue. The bartenders were very entertaining, rocking out and also enjoying the music while serving drinks. (Bigger man with blonde hair and a slimmer man with stretched ears, a hat and tattoos) they deserve raises lol. We left very happy and still talking about the experience the Monday after the show. (the show was on 4/19/19)If you live in NYC, visit there or whatever, you HAVE to go here, its a must!
WARNING: Not Accessible. This theater - which I agree is a great venue - says they are ADA Compliant. This here wheelchair user sure thinks that is a lie. Expect to be told that if you want to use the bathroom they need to get security for you (wait 10+ minutes) and then the elevator they use is not in fact big enough for a wheelchair and the operator they require. Best bit was when the security guy said this exact same thing happened last time one of you people was here, the chair didnt fit.. I then suggested that perhaps that was because the door was not wide enough. Anyway - Great theater - NOT ACCESSIBLE.
Love this place!!
This venue had great sound and an interesting layout. There is a raised seating area in the back half of the venue. The show I went to required upgraded tickets to use this seating area, but it was well worth the extra cost to me. The staff working at the venue all seemed very congenial too
Great location in east village. Nice size for up and coming bands. Great stage and sound system. Bar is convenient and well run. Nice basement lounge. Bathrooms are clean and accessible through short staircases.
Its a intimate space that is perfect for music concerts. The space has seats and a general admission area. Bar space on the sides means you can get a drink and still be at the show. Bathroom was clean and easy to get to. Parking in the area is kinda a pain if your driving in. If your hungry there are food options in the area.
Really nice venue for live music. But the drinks are too expensive for a plain selection. Location is nice though and bars are easily accessible right in the area if drinks are something youre interested in.
I love it! best place for concerts! saw some of my favorite people up on that stage!
Easy in & out. Bars on both sides of the floor, plenty of room on floor to move about. Eclectic music. Relax & enjoy the music. Leave the attitude
Went to watch Ryan Hurd perform. The Theatre isnt very big, but thats what I like most. You could stand or sit anywhere and have an amazing experience regardless. The venue serves alcohol and has everything organized as good as you could. Would recommend anyone to go to this venue.
Best venue for its size and cost. Intimate setting. Good ushers. But fallen from 5 star because new manager lacks people skills and 10 dollar budwiser now 15.00.
Great theater, however I believe that the staff and people who work there unfortunately have been hardened by NYC Culture. I have also noticed that its incredibly difficult to get press or photography approval from them, yet they will allow cell phone cameras.. in short, great location, disappointing staff...
Was good last night!!
Great place, small but the sound is great
Went to see Dir en grey live for the second time. Had an amazing time 🤘
Great place to see a show
BRASS AGAINST THE MACHINE!!!
Venue is good and cool. The prices are high inside but that is to be expected. The people and security working there are cool and friendly.
Its new years and their service with Ticketmaster failed, so they arent letting in people who clearly have tickets. They also closed the smoking area because someone tried to sneak in through it. The sound here is great, though
Went there to see Lacuna Coil Live. Despite the storm and being soaked to the bone. Definitely a fun experience. Now for the place itself, felt a bit too small at times; though thankfully there was enough space to stand... just not enough for a quick mosh. Bathrooms are averagely decent, just hard to upkeep when there is a load of people going in and out during concert time.
This is a great theater with historic qualities. I saw brother Ali here and had an amazing time. Highly recommend for small concerts and events— you get to be really close to the action!
Good venue. Saw Lindsey Stirling in concert on 9/5/19, but it was crowded. Definitely try to get the seating area. Good bar and beautiful lighting for Lindsey Stirling show!
Low key theater with elevated seating in the back
Love this venue. We went here for a concert and it was one of the more unique venues weve been to. We love the Theatre style seating in the back with the opportunity to stand in the front. The staff is friendly too.
Ah, saw the Residents here in what, I suppose, will be their final show--right, though no ones ever seen these anonymous eye-balled fellows, one of them is no longer with us. My wife and I saw the Bunny Boy tour and it was, as was the Demons Dance Alone before it, mindblowing! The Gramercy Theatre is right down the street from our home, so its super convenient--and its on a main drag of NYC, so...yeah, very easy and nice place to see a gig.
They need to do better for their performers seriously the concert I attorney yesterday was for now on monitor fact that the theater in second performs accessibility for writing proper lighting sounding... but even then the performer did great with everything that was wrong
Great venue. Every seat in the house is good. History Hyenas live podcast was awesome!
Awesome venue!!!
Lacuna coil concert 😍
Great venue, especially for a more intimate experience with the band! Sound quality was decent. My only gripe was the price of the alcohol. It was kind of ridiculous, but not too too bad. Would have loved to tip the bartenders more, but couldnt afford it after the price of the drink - sorry ladies!
Great place to watch live entertainment. Full discourse, Ive only been there to see marky ramone live, so Ive only seen the stage and mo chairs on the floor. The acoustics were really good, you could appreciate the sound from every point on the floor.
Great little venue in NYC, not too far of a walk from Penn and the venue has a lot to offer for being so small. Includes a seated area, two bars, and GA floor. Security were some of the nicest Ive ever met and I go to a lot of concerts, and how they handle merch lines should be the standard
This former movie theater has become a really cool concert venue. The seats were removed from the orchestra section, while the seating area was preserved in the back, allowing those who choose to sit to have a nice view of the show. I have attended several concerts at this venue and have had very good experiences. Theres two bars on either side of the stage. They allow cameras as long as they dont have a removable lens. They have good security and the place is centrally located near all kinds of public transportation.
