Ive spent several years at Columbia and Im well acquainted with many of the spaces. Faculty House is elegant, beautiful, quiet, and reasonably spacious to host anywhere from a few dozen to a few hundred people. It can be difficult to locate the entrance so obtaining proper directions is critical. Sometimes the Morningside entrance can be locked and there are a couple of ways to get to the front door. Ive given it a 5-star review because it is by far best spot in the area and has a nice view from the upper floors and we have always had a pleasant and excellent experience.

You will likely only go here as a faculty guest for lunch or a Columbia University program or outside rental. Food is delicious. I am a big fan of the buffet lunch And the service is excellent and tips are built into the pricing. I was a professor at CU for 20 years so been there countless times. Their AV setup is pretty good for the campus and there are plenty of rooms of different sizes and configurations. I still remember the day my associate dean, the late Steve Isaacs, brought me to lunch on my first week as a member of the faculty. Even though I was low man on the totem pole, I felt like I’d arrived. In late April and May, you’ll see plenty to hear-end celebratory lunches with students and faculty.

This building is on the Columbia University campus. The building is named based on its function but receptions are held here for orientation of masters degree programs. This is a nice building.

Columbia university runs great free programs and feeds you well after.
