Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had. Our reservation time was 930am. There was only one person working the counter and taking people to the car lot. 10am rolls around and we finally get some help only to find out they don’t have the kind of car we RESERVED weeks in advance. They scramble to find us another car and when they do, we have to wait even longer for them to clean it since it was just returned. We also were told we would have no additional fees since it was not our fault. I look at my credit card statement and what do I see? You guessed it… an additional charge from Budget. We even filled the tank up before we returned it and everything. This whole ordeal took 90 minutes way from our vacation. Highly disappointed and do NOT recommend.
The girl from the agency literally saved our vacation. We tried to rent a car with Hertz Convention Center but they cancelled our reservation last minute. So we called Budget and they found us a good and cheap car right away, ready to go! Thanks again!
I had extremely great service and on a very short notice (twice). I would definitely and have recommended others to rent a car from them. I am going to rent one again soon for vacation. The price is just right and the vehicles are very clean and full of gas when you receive them.
Dont rent from here! Very dishonest business practices. We returned our car with a full tank of gas to this location on the day and time we were supposed to per our reservation. When dropping off the vehicle, we asked if there was a check out slip or if we needed to sign something. We were told by 2 different employees that we just had to give them the keys and we could leave, as they didnt provide a check out slip. We gave them the keys and immediately walked to the pier and left on a cruise. When we returned, we saw on our bank account that we were charged an extra $219 (in addition to the regular rental fee). We called and were told that we returned the car one day late with an empty tank of gas. We believe an employee took the car and drove it around for a day after we gave them the keys. It took us several phone calls, and emails where we provided proof over and over again that we returned it when we were supposed to with a full tank of gas. This took us weeks to get cleared up as they didnt believe us even after we provided proof. One customer service rep told us that if this was found to be an error on their part, not ours, they would refund the extra charge and the regular rental fee. However, after the investigation even when they were found to be at fault, they were not willing to refund the rental fee as we were told. Very poor customer service with dishonest employees! Dont get scammed like we did, rent a car elsewhere.
I rented a vehicle from the airport (great customer service at the airport location) and dropped it off at the Poydras location, since it was closer to the pier. I asked for an invoice, but the lady there told me that she would email it to me, b/c she couldnt print one. I immediately left to go to the cruise pier to leave for a cruise. While on the cruise, I checked my email and I still didnt receive an invoice. Upon my return, I went back to airport concerning the issue.I explained that I didnt receive an invoice, but a payment posted to my bank account for an additional $120. The lady at the airport printed me an invoice, apologized for the inconvenience and they directed me back to the Poydras location, since they are the ones who closed my invoice out. I contacted the Poydras location and the lady on the phone was argumentative and rude. I then contacted Budget customer service and they immediately corrected the issue. Poydras location waited 3 minutes past the rental agreement time to close my invoice; which made the rental late. If you have to rent here, DEMAND an invoice before leaving this location.
Havent even followed through with my reservation and theyre already displaying unprofessional behavior. Asked to speak with a manager and was told by Shawn that there was none. I made my reservation online and asked a simple question about changing a pick up time. If this is the behavior thats exhibited, Budget/Avis car rental will never get my business again.
Very DISHONEST business: I have been using budget rental for many years, and this is the first time I found some one tried to put optional items on my bill without telling me. When you are with your family during vacation, you are excited and wait for the car to take them out. But take a look at the bill carefully before you put initials, they will sneak in the options you never ask for and have you pay!!! I eventually had to dispute this with my credit card company.DISHONEST and STAY AWAY!
Slow, confused and doesnt have suvs. I paid and reserved an suv. Without notice they set me up in a small car. They have you sign the damage waiver without even looking at the car. I had to go back inside after discovering the rental was not an suv. Then they informed me there were no suvs. They refused any discount so i had to pay suv prices for a car when i saw the car online for 30 less. Feels like a scam.
Visited NOLA without transportation so have been using Lyft to get to nearby places. So on the day we needed the car to go somewhere where there usually wont have Lyft/Uber available, we made reservations online and got charged the night before but went the next day and there were no cars available! So we had to call other available car rentals in the area and then get rides there instead. So we essentially WASTED MONEY AND TIME to travel from to here and from here to another car rental because they couldnt tell us beforehand when we were making reservations. When we requested refund on the charges in front desk, the lady said she cant do anything so we had to call and requested refund ourselves.We even asked if they know other places available that might have cars but they werent even trying to be helpful and just said no. Probably not their job scope but services are just as bad.
Zero stars!!Dishonest place, rented a car and and the person added basic coverages even though I didnt want any.. I was told to initial about 7 spots right before they closed at 2 on a Sunday afternoon . They wanted to charge 380 for a 3 day rental on an economy car. I Decided on tuesday I didnt want the car anymore so I called the general line and was told I could teturn early and save the 100 dollars for the extra day. I was so annoyed with these people that I returned the car and leftwithout a receipt .. big mistake! I just look at my bill and they charged me 340 for 2 days! Stay away from this place.. i had heard that budget was bad but I didnt think they would actually deliberately act rhis way.. this place is full of dishonest and rude people. Stay away. You dont need a car in NOLA.. uber or trolley
They were quick to have my car ready to go and even quicker to receive it when done.
Firstly they gave me a car without cruise control for a 6 hour trip.Secondly they added insurance to my booking without discussing it or mentioning it to me. I unknowingly signed it without reading it over presuming it was as per what I had booked. Ended up having an additional $100 charged to my card. Absolute deception.
After telling me there would be no extra charge when I dropped off the car, I received a letter informing me they would be charging me extra for cleaning -- after I cleaned it.

The rental or return is right in the Hilton Hotel if you know its easy to find otherwise its quite a challenge to find it ...
