At this point Im not sure rating this property even a 1 star. Property is beautiful, well kept,, but Im being refrained from living life here as if it is my home. Pet friendly!! Wat exactly does that mean? If dogs cant bark, dont allow pets. Every apt has regulations. My little one only barks when she see people from the patio. Its not continuous. Rules only apply to people who work outside the apt. What rights do these people have? Me being one of those. I feel like Im being harassed daily. Im not comfortable. So, if anyone wants to live here, treat it as a senior assisted living quarters. Some people are rude here & management is one sided. Only cator to some people. The rest of hard working people apparently have not any rights. I dont recommend living here. Apparently we all have to work from home to have our rights. I feel discriminated against. I dont recommend these apartments.

Nice apartments, but the customer service was sorely lacking. We applied for an apartment and we were assured we would be kept apprised during the process. I had to call multiple times throughout this month-long encounter and often our agent was unavailable to speak to me. He did tell us that our application was nearly complete and to go ahead and give notice to our current apartment. We did so, and over a week went by with no phone call or email. I call and he is not available, but someone else in the office looks up our application and says we are “just under” the income requirements for that particular unit and basically, good luck. So I would be VERY sure you’re leaving your current accommodations before applying here.UPDATE:After posting this review and a week after being told no, we suddenly received an application approval letter. However, in response to the reply below...if you would truly like to elevate [the] customers experience, you can start by refunding the $200 application fee, since we are not going to be moving forward.

We recently moved out due to a cross country job transfer, but had this not happened we would still be residents of this community.I want to give a personal shout out to Caleigh and Sarah. These two ladies have always been friendly, professional and always communicate back in a timely manner. We havent experienced a single negative encounter with the office staff or the maintenance team. I personally believe that this team works with you, if you communicate with them in a timely manner. They have always treated us with respect and consideration.Caleigh went above and beyond during Covid lockdowns. We had a minor issue with our fridge and during after hours (11PM) she took it upon herself to call the maintenance team to have them come out and check out the issue, to be fixed that night. That is something most would have waited till business hours to address. This was something that made us feel acknowledged and valued within the community. Our neighbors are also great. We lived on the third floor, and while yes you can hear others when you are walking the hallways, we were never bothered by our neighbors at all.Our experience has been amazing, and if you are looking for an opportunity to have community interaction and opportunities to build friendships, this is the place. The apartments are modern and have plenty of space and storage. We loved these apartments and would gladly if we found ourselves in the New Braunfels area, we would rent here again.

If I can give Mission Hill 1000 stars, I would. I want to start off by saying the staff is absolutely amazing, kind and quick to answer any questions I have. The amenities are like no other, my kids are obsessed with the hot chocolate machine and lazy river pool, which provides you with tubes so you can float and hang out😳. I love the gym and yoga/spinning room. The place is very family friendly and we were quick to make tons of friends, we now consider family. I have never had this kind of experience anywhere else.We originally lived in the apartments and now at the townhomes. The backyard is perfect for my kids to play soccer and throw the balls around to our 2 dogs. They are very pet friendly and provide stations around the area for clean up assistance. There is an amazing dog park and we were even provided a tag so if in the event our fur babies get out they will scan back to this location. How amazing is that.Lastly, Let’s not forget the Events. OMG the events. Before Covid there were Brunches, Mixers, Food Trucks, Community BBQ’s with Food and Drinks. This really made the Community feel like Home and friends like Family. Post Covid they work so hard on still hosting Events for us like Grab and Go Food, To Go Mixers and Live Music. The best decision by far is making this place my home!

Horrible apartment!! They charge $2,500 a month for a 3 bedroom townhouse. You can buy a $300,000 home for cheaper!! Anyways, we decided to fill an application out here since they have a small private yard. I make more then enough to afford this payment, but I do not to their standards and would not accept us even with a co signer. The staff is rude, and none of them seem to know what’s going on. We were told multiple different things throughout the process. They have 10 vacancies, and we were told that they opened in 2016 and still have some townhomes that had not been lived in. (Maybe we should’ve taken that read flag and looked elsewhere) but then stated they couldn’t tell us which ones were new? Anyways, I’ve absolutely had it with this complex. Had a previous terrible experience with them 3 years ago with them changing our move in date constantly to the point where it wouldn’t be ready until after we were supposed to be moved in (this went on for a month!!), and now this. STAY AWAY.

Horrible customer service. Very bad communication!! I applied on a Friday late afternoon. I was told several 2/2 apartments were coming available and I liked one so I applied. The guy who showed me the apartments was so personable and I was initially very impressed. Since he was on vacation early in the week, I heard nothing from the apartment complex until he returned. There was a mixup on their part regarding the unit for which I had applied, but they fixed it. However, it took them a full day to respond to my many emails and calls. After a full week, I’ve still heard nothing about the status of my application. I’m out $200 and if I’d read all the reviews about their deceitful practices, I would not have applied to this complex. I applied today to another complex and was approved in 2 hours!! Incredible that one apartment took 2 hours and the other has taken one full week and I’ve not yet heard anything. Not one email or phone call. Don’t lease here!!!

This is a beautiful complex full of activities and amenities. When I brought my client/daughter over, we had the warmest reception. I am a new Realtor and was made to feel at ease and was helping my daughter move to New Braunfels from the Houston area. Kathryn went out of her way to be accommodating. At the time she didnt have anything available but went to work searching for upcoming possibilities. Kathryn is an asset to the customer service industry. At 56, I have worked many sectors in customer service, now as a Realtor, I consider my standards high. Kathryn went above and beyond what I was expecting from an apartment complex. I have suggested this complex to people relocating and will continue to bring clients, as I can.Thank you!Lisa Lambert

Very unethical and deceitful company and especially new management. The apartment complex is beautiful, move in, enjoy, but never complain about anything. Be very careful when you move out. I moved out in September, after living there for almost 2 years. Was told I was good to go.A week ago I started getting suspicious calls from debt collectors. They appeared to be a scam until I called the apartment complex and they confirmed they had reported me to debt collectors and emailed me a summary of monies owed (most of them were from June). Never in my life did I not pay my bills on time, Id rather not eat than not pay my bills. They had my phone number, email, forwarding address and never sent me anything or called me about any money owed to them. How can one pay a bill, without even knowing it exists? If you ever complained about anything, please be very careful when you move out or the management will personally screw you over.

My eyes were very satisfied but my noise was not so much but just in the office. The office was busy when my friend and I arrived but Pam and other staff members greeted and welcomed us. The apartments were beautiful. The bathrooms were lovly as well as the kitchen! The bedrooms are a little small my king size will take up the whole room in the cheaper units. But hey if your just going to sleep why not. For the area and competition the pricing is fair especially having so many amenities at your disposal. I will definitely be putting in my application soon!!❤ I definitely will be asking for Pam!!

Been here for a month now. Its a nice quiet area besides the occasional inconsiderate motorist revving engines. My only complaint about the apartments is the thin walls and windows. We lived in their apartments for a little over a year. WAY over priced. Paying $1,400/month for a 2bd2ba on the third floor. The lease was up in March and we were getting ready to move into a new home that my girlfriend and I were having put on some property my dad gave us. We were not 100% sure when the house would be ready, but we agreed to pay by month for a couple months until it was done, which is even more money. In February, my girlfriend told the lady we were talking to that we would be out most likely by May 1st. Word to the wise, if you plan on moving out make sure to be careful how you word things to these people. We moved out exactly on May 1st, but because my girlfriend said most likely, it was not definite and are expected to pay another months rent. They only want more money, as if they arent getting enough from their overpriced, tiny, poorly managed apartments. Also, a few months before this my car was vandalized. The front driver side fender had a giant dent in it. We contacted the office to try to see if they saw anything on the cameras and they said they dont have security footage on that part of the property...in FRONT of the apartments! I am so glad to never have to step foot in that place again, and I hope this review helps someone decide to choose a cheaper, and more secured location.

I moved in here almost a year ago with my two boys and I loved it! Very quite and family friendly. There’s some comments on here saying the walls are “too thin” the only times i could hear my neighbors were if I had all my electronics off and my apartment was totally quite. The leasing agents are super nice and always wave to you if they’re out and about in the complex. They always throw community gatherings (pre covid). I would say that I did have someone try to break into my vehicle, but that’s not the complex’s fault for people not having a good moral compass. Sad to be leaving this apartment complex. Would definitely recommend for anyone who has children to move here. Best apartment complex in NB in my opinion.

The office staff was very pleasant up until after I signed my lease... into month 2 they were very snooty and always tended to have an attitude. I just got out of my year lease and moved elsewhere because I couldn’t deal with the office staff. There is one person in the office who is awesome, but that’s it and unfortunately I never really saw that person when I went in there. The property is really nice, everything is very functional! The apartments themselves are nice, but the walls are paper thin. They lost 2 of my packages in a 4 month time span and told me there’s was nothing they could do about it when UPS had confirmation that it was dropped off. I also didn’t live in my apartment for the last 3 months of my lease and both my electric and water bills were higher than when I was living there all the time.. The maintenance crew is awesome and is what keeps that place running!

I have lived here since June, and I have very much enjoyed living here. My move in date was initially set for the beginning of June, but due to construction it was pushed back. The office was very prompt to alert me of this, and assured me that the rent would be pro-rated to reflect the days I would have to wait and offered to reimburse any lodging costs until the unit was available. What could of been quite stressful was handled professionally. The staff has always been incredibly accommodating, any issue I have had has been resolved with one trip to the office! The pool is always clean and available, with plenty of seating in the shade! Also landscaping looks very nice, I always see the groundskeepers out early and theyre all friendly. The apartment complex goes out of their way to get residents involved with each other and the community (love that they support HSNBA). The pet fees are all affordable and moderate compared to other complexes. Plus the dog parks they provide are actually parks & not just mud boxes! Theres also a neighbor walking their dog, or going for a run, it just feels like a nice area to be in.

It’s a nice property, amenities are great when they’re working/available to use. Although I wish there was more of a sense of urgency to clean or maintain, especially when it comes to animal excrement. 3 times on my floor in my building have I seen and called about someone who let their animal relieve itself and didn’t clean up after them. While I understand it’s difficult to do something about it when there’s not a good idea of who it was, it’s gross to continue to have to walk by it every day (sometimes with our child). If the animal owner won’t take responsibility, the least that could be done is send someone to clean it up sooner than later. For reference it’s dog poop scattered throughout the hallway and staircase. It shouldnt take almost a week to get it cleaned up, its freaking disgusting

It has been one frustrating issue after another here at Mission Hill. First, they told us our apartment will be ready on a certain date, but we received a call a day before our moving in date to inform us that our apartment was not ready. Whats more, they placed us in a model apartment (while our personal belongings were in a garage), and charged us a daily rate, even though the delays were not fault of ours. They would also not release us from our lease even though it took over 3 weeks for our apartment to be ready. As a result, we incurred additional fees as we had to rent a moving truck twice, and hire movers to move us from the model home to our apartment when it was eventually ready. Then, more recently, one of their leasing agents told us the amount to pay on our bill, which apparently, was the incorrect amount. Days later, we receive an email indicating that we were being charge late fees for not paying the full amount on our bill. And when we told them that the amount we paid was given to us by one of their leasing agents, they said the late fee cannot be waived, and that we will still be responsible for the late fee. We asked to speak with the property manager, and apparently, she is never available. We sent the property manager an email but never heard back from her. We also reached out to the regional manager but never heard back from her as well. So if you ever have an issue with management while living here, be prepared for it to not be resolved. There is no recourse available because none of the managers nor HQ care enough to respond to a simple email.

Even when we had someone below us with a barking dog, it wasn’t loud enough to bother me.Never had a problem with maintenance, the few times i’ve had problem they have come to fix it within 3 days or less. The maintenance employees are always super nice and quickAnytime there’s an inspection for the fire extinguishers or pest control will be coming, they make sure to leave a note on everyone’s door so we know they will be entering your apartment and when. The pools are great especially the new lazy river. There’s a few employees in the front office who never seem to know what’s going on. Maintenance is great. There hasnt been an issue with pests aside from the bat that was dying on the balcony the day I moved in (which they did not remove).Events OK: One burner for pancakes for the entire community is what you should expect. The coffee tastes odd on occasion and is ransacked by kids in the evening. I dont know that there is a courtesy officer--they havent responded to me or a few of my neighbors. Several of the apts have an odd smell that we cant find a source for. Some apts were not cleaned and were missing items prior to move-in. The storage I rented was not cleaned either and was full of leaves, dirt, and bugs. No acknowledgement. When I signed a new lease, because Im too busy to move this year, I requested they clean the carpet since it wasnt done before. I moved all my furniture but no one came. When I called, it was simply a miscommunication and they reminded me to sign some paperwork...They dont vacuum prior to cleaning. It took them about 15 minutes and I was told they would be turning on the heat to help it dry...Sounds like a great way to breed mold. The carpet was so wet it was running into the kitchen.I have never received a full 24-hr notice prior to having to move all items off the patio/balcony, or in the apartment for pest control. They claim that they dont have to. In the contract they have the right to enter whether youre home or not without prior notice and break your window to enter if you are home. They also claim to have the right to request you get approval for any outdoor addition or you are in violation of the agreement. Office mgr lied to me saying that they do not approve of the type I had but two weeks later neighbors have the same up. You can receive a fine for not bringing in your trash can on time, not cleaning the apartment to their specific standards, day-late payment, or for not cleaning up after your pet. However, you will not be reimbursed for cleaning the apt when they dont or when your trash is not picked up. There have been times that the gym equipment is not available or the gates remain open for months. There is an unreasonable amount of dog waste left around the community. I dont know that they are fining residents for the one thing they should be because it seems unlikely that anyone with that kind of money to blow would be living here. They dont take preventative measures to keep the birds from nesting on your patio/balcony so they evacuate all over anything left out.Several residents have reported hearing staff talk about other residents who complain. Those who have had a complaint have found the assistant office manager is condescending and unhelpful, yet she remains--a lot of sidestepping, blatant lying, or ignored messages. This is the only apartment Ive lived at in NB where the dishwasher leaves a thick white film over the dishes that is difficult to scrub off. We are told its the water. It may help to dump a bunch of vinegar in the washer prior to EACH wash. They wont be reimbursing you for the vinegar either. Because of the questionable water, you will need to purchase water bottles or water system. You cannot attach filters to the style of sink here.Expect to park a building or two over if you get here after 1700. Parking space was taken up by garages for additional charges.I can hear when my neighbors shut their doors. I can hear a neighbor shut the microwave and cabinets, my other neighbors alarm (who likes to hit snooze a lot) and their phrases of excitement when they play video games. I could hear my upstairs neighbor walking all night, dropping items, opening doors, playing music..I lucked out and they each made an effort after I let them know how loud it was but others have gotten into altercations. They will move you; for a high fee, of course. Same for phase II.They are aware of all of these issues so any response to call into the office to discuss it is for show. I have already requested to speak to both managers--no response.I suggest having an attorney look over the contract.

All Stars go to the maintenance staff! They are the ones who go above and beyond at this complex. I wish I could take them to my next apartment, they’re all great and know their jobs and do not hesitate to fix what ever is faulty. Id give more stars but youd be fooled and not read the rest of this! As far as the rest of the staff in the front, they’re unprofessional and do not understand what professionalism is and how to speak to residents. If you have any issues, be prepared for nothing to be done, gate has been broken all year, we get solicitors, theft etc. Had I not been in a recent accident I wouldve moved, but being my current physical condition, I cannot and stuck here for another year. I definitely dont recommend this place to anyone. We pay for extras at the apt and they stopped with the pool concierge, no drinks in club house, nothing is ever prepared for the events they throw. The pools are used by everyone else, Ive literally seen a van of 7 people hop out and swim here and leave hours later. This place is a joke and I have no been more motivated to move Into a house more than ever.

The maintainance crew is amazing! I have never lived in an apartment complex where they were so on top of it. And really everything I have called for was a preventative maintenance thing, like an air or water filter which they provide. They saw I was having car trouble and popped on over to save the day! I lived in an apartment in town once where the roof leaked so bad every time it rained that my ceiling was sinking and the ceiling fan was basically raining. I could not even fathom such a thing happening here. The front office is just as fenomonal! Always smiling and always approachable! I love that they have a community garden! I think it really sets them apart from the rest! Not to mention that they are also very active with the humane society! I don’t think that I can say enough good things about this place! Beautiful apartments, but we never got the chance to live there. We had signed a lease contract, paid the $237 for the security deposit, application fee, and admin fee. We were originally supposed to move in the very beginning of October. That was the date the contract was signed for. We get a call a few days later letting us know that our apartment would not be ready until October 14th. That was fine, since our least at our other apartments wasnt ending until the 20th. We had almost finished packing everything, my fiancé had arranged his work schedules, and we had cleared our very busy weekend to be able to move in. (We are getting married in 8 weeks, which is the most stressful weeks and the most busy weeks). We get a call FIVE days before move-in day to let us know that our apartment would not be ready... AGAIN. This time, not until after our lease at our current apartment ends. This was not doable for us, since our lease was ending, we would need somewhere to live and also somewhere to store all our things. We cant just check-in to a hotel with all our stuff, and it is senseless to rent a storage unit. We go to the apartments to see if there is anything else available that is move-in ready since we really need a place to live and the 14th is really the only day we can move-in, especially since my fiancé is on-call for his plumbing job. The only things they had available were $65 more dollars a month, and for a college couple, that is a lot of money. We couldnt afford the extra money without being way too tight. We asked them to refund us the $237 since we cannot move in, to no fault of our own. We had to back out due to them not having the apartments ready.. not for any other reason. We figured that since we cannot move in because of something they did, the right thing for them to do is refund us the money. Instead, they told us it was non-refundable and are keeping our money. After all the stress and inconvenience this apartment complex has caused us, on top of not giving us the money back, I would not recommend these apartments to ANYONE. The staff seems friendly enough, but not after they have your money. They will literally kick you to the curb. The apartments really are beautiful, I just wish they had more morals and manners. We did find somewhere to live, and the staff there is just lovely and after hearing about what had happened to us, have been more than accommodating and have helped us out TREMEDOUSLY. Steer clear of Mission Hills Apartments. Someone told us that before we looked here, I just wish we would have listened.

I couldnt be happier with the staff here. Lot of friendly hard workers in board and that is awesome. I want to make sure I stress A+ staff! However the corporate/ managerial direction seems entirely focused on opening the new wing of the complex at the compromise of the current residence. The fountain in the dog park has never worked, holes in many of the tiny dog parks around the complex, and it took my entire first lease to open the pool which was finally opened up at the end of summer. A lot of amenities that were toted in the walk through are either broken or simply dont exist and as far as I can tell they will get no monitory attention until the new stage of the complex is open. Im not optimistic about the future being that stage 3 began essentially the day stage 2 started. It would be nice if retention of residence didnt fall completely on the staff who is handicapped financially due to the expansion of the property. Im can see this being a 5 star rating with just a bit of adjustment, however today I feel a bit jaded to have made 12 months with half the amenities and no compensation was even considered.

The office staff and treatment when we had to break our lease due to a job transfer killed our experience here. Would not recommend it to any one. We lived here from August 15 until November 16.What you need to know... We renewed our 12 month lease in July 2016 to continue until August of 2017. At the end of October, we got the very unexpected notice that my husband was being transferred due to his job, and that he had 3 weeks to be moved to another city. We let the office know as soon as we found out, and had to begin to deal with Devon. She told us that because we were breaking our lease, and that there is a 60 day notice required to break your lease, we would have to pay those 2 months, plus a reletting fee of 80% of one months rent. We let her know that it is not realistic to give 2 months notice when moving due to unprecedented circumstances. We were going to have to pay Novembers rent (fair, since we would be living there for half of November anyway), December (what?!), and a $1000 reletting fee. All in all, about $3500 just to get out of our contract. This is where our issues began, and the way we were treated by the office staff began to deteriorate. Devon told us that she was pretty sure that she would be able to get our apartment leased before December, and that shes never had an issue reletting an apartment there. That made us feel a bit better about the situation. We gave her a definite move out date of November 12, so that she could have it leased as early as possibly, by November 13.Fast forward 3 weeks, and the apartment is not leased. We have called every other week to check in on the process and how the leasing is going on our apartment. Each time, we end up fighting with Devon because she treats my husband and I like children, and she gives stupid excuses as to why its not leased and that she cant do anything about it. The last time we called, which was 2 days ago, Devon said that no one has leased it, and that the apartment is not even READY to be leased (not painted, or cleaned) 3 WEEKS LATER. I told her that made no sense because if the apartment was ready, whomever walked in to lease it could move in immediately. She (of course) argued and said that they dont get apartments ready that arent leased. I also asked her efforts were in leasing our apartment. Her response, we dont do anything. We just wait for someone to walk through the door and want your apartment. I cant make someone take your apartment when theyre looking for something else! When we moved out she said that she would do everything in her power to lease our apartment. Never said to make anyone take anything. Just make any sort of effort to let people know that it is available. Too much to ask from someone so inexperienced and not willing to put in minimal effort. My husband called her later that same day to remind her of Texas law, which is that the apartment will do everything in their power to try and get the apartment leased so that you are not stuck paying rent on an apartment that you dont live in. She then accused us of harassment for calling her *once every other week* to check in on our apartment. She then went on to threaten us by saying that she could purposefully not lease it and sit on it for the remaining 30 days just to inconvenience us. Whos harassing who? She takes everything personally, and cant woman up to situations while still being respectful. Now it is December 1st, and we are stuck with paying rent for another month. Very, VERY pissed off at this situation, and with Devon. A horrible position to be in with the most unfriendly of people. Do not recommend at all. Do not live here, and if you do, steer clear of Devon. Also, It should be known that the other reviews below were written by either people that work there now or have left. Drucilla was a good employee, but was let go and Raenn answered the phone two days ago.
