I went to Monty’s for three years before moving out of state. Each time the service was excellent, the barbers were friendly, and the price was fair. Monty himself is a great guy with a lot of skill at his profession. I highly recommend this barber shop.

I have been coming here for a few years now, and its a great place. The staff are all friendly, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. (Special shoutout to my boy Lane for a long track record of great haircuts!) Its also one of the few technically-optional places I have felt safe attending during the COVID-19 pandemic, because the staff has taken safety regulations seriously, and I trust them to place their own and their customers well-being first. Highly recommended!

The barbers were nice and all, but I could have definitely had a better haircut experience! Had quite a wait time (~20 min) than promised, which I can brush aside. But felt like the previous customers bad tipping despite a meticulously done haircut clearly affected my hastily and sloppily done job! Ended up with a very uneven cut all around, that I realize after showering. I didnt want to be nitpicky and delay further, but I clearly was not happy for the rest of the day, so maybe I shouldnt have been as polite. Doubt if Ill want to go back 😕

Finally. Ive tried out a few places in the dt/Germantown area and this was by far the best cut and experience. Sam made sure to double check length and style and gave me a great cut. Also really appreciate a barber that does the hot shaving cream and straight razor for the neckline. No frills, great cut, efficient process, right price, exactly what I was looking for.

Best cut I’ve got in years and at a fair price of $25 for short style. Not like $45 down the road that’s just a cash grab. I arrived a little late because of traffic and they were still nice and took their time which is cool.

Im from out of town and tried to walk in around 10:15am. One person was getting a cut and two barbers sitting on there phones in chairs. guy in the first chair tells me he can’t get my hair cut until 12:30pm with no one waiting. I’ve never seen a business turn money down so quickly. Listen... I get you’re more like a salon, having to make an appointment and all... but not when you have two chairs open.

I came here for a simple haircut with very clear instructions. Instead I received the worst haircut of my life in which the barber cut all my hair incredibly short except maybe 2 inches of my frontal hairline. It made absolutely no sense and looked terrible, 2 months later it still looks ridiculous-- a true dumb and dumber haircut. Wont be coming back again

Walked in no appointment. Told me they were booked up. Two barbers had empty chairs. Told them just needed a quick 2 minute buzz cut. Tons of attitude from the guy who acted like the owner or manager acting like I was bothering them. Ill never go back.

I had an appointment at 5pm I walked into the store at 4:30 there were total 5 men 1 is working and all are taking rest and when I ask them do I need to wait he said yes because you have an appointment at 5:00pm that is obsolutely fine for me.I showed one picture to the barber and I want a hair cut like this and he did it in completely different way if you saw my hair style it looks very awkward and I dont feel good because I love my hair a lot and am particular about it if you dont love your hair you can go to this store but if you love your hair and you want it to be perfect dont go here.And waiters were so arragant and I feel very bad for it and I respected them saying sir with smile.Tryst me if you go there you are going to have a very bad experience

Ive been going to Monty since he was in a previous barber shop down the alley. Monty is the only guy in Nashville that Ill let cut my hair. He does an amazing job, and surrounds himself with talented and fun people.

Came out here from Denver got a cut by Eli he did a great job I highly recommend this place!

Decided to walk in one day and got turned away since I didnt have an appointment, called a week or two later and they had something open that afternoon so I took it. Didnt get anyone famous from the other reviews like Drake or Monty. My guy took me down to 1/2-3/4 on top when I asked to leave 2.5 and let me leave the shop with my shirt collar still tucked in to my undershirt. The crew cut I did get looked pretty good and only required a few minor touch ups when I got home.

Haircut was fair but they really dont know much about clipper cuts and fades. 2 stars because of sanitation, one small sink for 2 people and they cant wash their hands and tools between customers.
