On behalf of people who are New to Vallejo call first an find out when you need to check in & check out.I do not encourage anybody who have to take daily meds to stay here. Even if you dont have any health issues, where are you suppose to go, if you have to check out each morning by 5or 6 am an return by 4 or 5pm.Without family or friend a homeless person would be unsafe walking the streets..Lets hope Miracles happen for the Homeless.Better health care.Housing etc.

Does someone know the werabouts of Linda Austin?Ive been phoning and I just get answering machine.Today July 29, 2021 at 2:50 PM someone finally answered the phone. I asked if I could speak with my friend Linda Austin. She said,she died a year ago ok and would not give me a response to my question and hung the phone up on me. I found that very cold and disheartening. She couldnt give me a few minutes to talk to me about my friend who passed away. This has to be the most heartless organization that I know of.I cant see how anybody could be supportive to this organization if they cant be supportive to someone in time of need.

I volunteer here in the kitchen, cooking for the homeless. These people provide a valuable service to folks in need.

An older blonde haired woman whom opened door for me and looked me up and down while asking what I wanted. When I said shower she said You must be here by 4pm! I explained that I had just gotten off work and had too walk. She was very rude and a little hostile towards me all the while looking me up and down. And said You arent from around here are you? I said well yeah Iam from around here! This sort of attitude will not deter me in taking care of myself. This attitude is not one of a God fearing person as a Christian you are to do uinto others as they would do into you and have respect for people period! Not very Christian at all

Ive been here for a few months now and the experience here has been life changing. God is restoring my life as I apply the the instructions Im being shown in his word. Somtimes its a battle but life is changing for the better its a daily walk with Jesus I have support here theres daily classes, bible daily study afternoon power hour and a 6 am proverbs if I want to join in.God bless these people for truly caring..

This is a wonderful place! If youre trying to make ends meet I definitely recommend stopping by. You can get help from signing up for food stamps to signing up for medical care. You can get help with clothing for kids and adults, toys for kids are giving out at Christmas. Thanksgiving and Christmas time you can receive full meals for your family turkeys or hams included. In two days a week you can receive free food for your family. And best of all you can receive the word from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Love the Christian Help center. The leaders are wonderful, and this is the only center in town that preaches the gosspil and renders aid to the homeless.

I came there with my kids over a decade ago. The intake woman was very rude and said she knew I was going to be a problem when I hadnt said or done anything offensive. I was in a bad situation as everyone else who comes through their doors. She took me trying to remain positive and upbeat as problem behavior. Do they think that just because someone is down on their luck that they dont have a right to try to make themselves feel better? Also I did not care for the sleeping arrangements. Because my son was 8, he had to share a room with grown men. 8 is not even preteen! I bet they dont even screen people to see if they have a history of sexual abuse against children. I stayed for one night. I would rather spend money in a motel.

Doesnt even deserve one star. I am being violently, menacingly, relentlessly and verbally abused on a regular bases and called to see if there were any beds because the first two times I went down there they said they didnt have any beds and that I needed to call first, so I did and this is what happened. I called and one woman answered, she told me to hold and got someone else. This someone else, woman #2 well call her started aggressively asking questions then asked me am I on drugs, when I applied no she then spiteful asked then why are you homeless!? So apparently you can only be homeless if youre on drugs. She then started yelling then spitefully and aggressively said NO ID NO BED!

The Pastor & his co-partner wife running this place is delusional as to his importance in the Vallejo, CA community. The City has made several attempts to purchase this but Bernardes has refused. He likes his ego stroked hes making a differance. Hes still living back in 1983 when this sort of place could be helpful. All it is now, is full of vindicative, hateful rumor mongers and cheats. Hes hired these people to work at this place, there are no excuses to their cruelty he looks the other way about since hes passive/aggressive. Shameful. The place has had many violations its remarkable the Christian help Center is still in business. The Staff used to openly steal from the residents on food donated, putting it the trunk of their vehicles to hand out to relatives while blaming the residents for stealing until the nutcase helping out installed cameras! What a pack of lies. Thats the thing at this place. They all lie, all cheats all the while using Gods name to perpretrate these frauds. Christian help Center should shut itself down.

They are not Christians.Christian,means you belong to Christ, therefore putting forth an effort to be Christ like. Not there, Its blasphemy,even criminal,the perpetual shady daily operations. You have to be there,to live it,and experience it.You must always watch your own back,as well as have Your A game on.The junior staff,with emphasis on junior,are indeed a nasty lot,are constantly gunning to run good people out.They have an extreme dislike towards those whom see right thru their plastic personna,as well their illegal activities.

The place does take good care of he people

Bed bugs, child labor, scam, never saw a pastor, the scam is take a position there, work for free and you can stay forever, but if you work, your kids work and your trying to better yourself and life, the head person in charge threatens to call the police in you if you stand up to themand remind them of child labor laws they are breaking. All the homeless people that live there are all related, mim, grandma, kids, cousins, auntees. The program has no case management, structure, and homeless people there were depressed, and starred into space. They had no direction in life to get a job, or get an apartment. I called for weeks to get beds for me and my family and was told everyday there was no beds and finally i had United Way call them to get me in, and was told to show up at 4 to have an intake done which never happened until a 5 hour wait for the case manager show up from her real job at 9pm. So being threatened by lead because i reminded her of child labor laws and the bed bugs bites my daughter received frim their facility .Me and my young daughters were being kicked out, The big 71 gay girl said hurry and leave so I can have my area back. So now I know why we were told there were no beds, they gave priority to the gay girl giant to have a four bunk bed area to herself. 71 41 year old butch threatened me and my child had all staff, lead, and case manager team up against us. Reported harassment and told the story of what happened in the case manager Lori still did nothing. That place is a scam and they all are related who live and work there. Read this and do not even think of enter this establishment, BED BUGS EVERYWHERE.!!!!!!!

This place is a fraud and scam to get donations and government money, and tax write offs for the personal benefit of those that run this pseudo religous company.It is not very Christian to throw a disabled senior onto the street in rain during the holidays. According to the person in charge of the shelter, this was done because (1) a service dog was not kept on a leash; (2) he did not participate in a 15 minute group chore to put food in bags.(1) Federal and State law require that disabled seniors and veterans be allowed to have trained service dogs to assist with my disabilities, and the dogs can be off-leash for the purpose of assisting the disabled person.(2) Staff intentionally did not alert me that it was time to participate in the chore. I wanted to assist, even though I was in a lot of pain (at 7:30pm after being on my feet for more 14 hours -- in violation of medical restrictions) but no one came by to let us know that the room was available to do the chore. Of the six people in the dorm with me, none were written up for a violation except me and I am the only one with a medical restriction. They wanted to make it appear that they were kicking me out on the street for something other than my sevice dog because of the legal implications and the civil rights and the Disibility Act violations.I was then told to leave and the pastors refused to return my calls, denying me an opportunity to respond to the baseless allegations of wrongdoing.They did everything but hang me up at the cross for being disabled (injured in the military), and having difficulty walking and standing. I stood up to them when they attacked me because of my service dog. I was assaulted, threatened and harassed, in a very unchristian manner by a group of felons and thugs, who reside in the shelter and are used by the pastors to carry out acts of torture and abuse against those that speak up or refuse participate in or endorse illegal, harmful and abusive tactics against both disabled and non-disabled individuals.The pastors lie. I have personally witnessed the lies and dishonesty. A pastor who is this dishonest and spiritually and morally weak should not be in a position of trust, and should not be trusted with donations, government money and tax exempt status.

I donate a lot of clothes, kids and adult shoes the homeless in the area frequent this place so I leave things they could use when I have extra, blankets, back packs travel toothbrush and paste, sometimes when Im there and are low on bread at home I pick some up there kinda like an exchange.
