I am the father of a recent hire and I am appalled at the way the HR department is treating her. This woman has verbally abused my daughter several times in the few days she has been there. Telling her that she isnt dressing the part and that she needs to do something with your hair and makeup I am absolutely disgusted by this behavior and will report her if this abuse continues. My daughter is absolutely stunning inside and out and for this woman to say the things she has said is beyond tasteless.

I had a color specialist do my hair and she could do anything I really wanted with my hair except go silver because I have darker hair. I was gonna go lighter but ended up going darker and was going to do blue undertones. Instead when she washed it out the black dye mixed with the bleach and turned it silver so I loved it and kept it that way. But my hair color specialist was amazing very friendly and fast and even gave me a neck massage while shampooing and conditioning my hair so that was very nice and I needed it. It cost me almost 200 but I also gave her a 30 dollar tip. Its a very fancy and relaxing place to get your hair done. But it was well worth It. Her name was Alyssa.

First and foremost I love the atmosphere of the salon. I went to Rayeann for waxing and she did such an amazing job. She is truly a gem and is very kind. Went in for my first Brazilian wax and I dont think I could be happier! I was really nervous but she took her time and made sure I was comfortable. She talked to me the whole time and did a good job distracting me. Walked out feeling confident and sexy! Definitely going back!

I gave 3 stars for only one purpose. I have gotten my hair done here once & she had done an amazing job! A+ for the hair styling department at this place. Due to the fact I enjoyed the service, I decided to try out the massage department. I took my boyfriend here for our anniversary to get massages because we work a lot & never have time to properly rule out muscle pain. We had paid for massages that were $50 a person so I was sure it would be a great experience. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the fact that for the entire duration of the massage all we received was a back rub with lotion & warm rocks. It was nice but there was absolutely no muscle relief involved, just flat hand rubbing. I wish they would have mentioned that it wasn’t a deeper tissue massage or else I would have went elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Brittany for my Brazilian waxes for over a year and I am very pleased with her services ! I am also pleased with this establishment overall. I am treated with dignity, respect and empathy. They are kind and demonstrate excellent customer service. Very clean and professional environment and I love how each appointment makes me feel like I had a spa day experience because Brittany takes her time and is patient and caring. It’s not like a wax bar where you’re in and out. My appointments always start and end on time and I am always 100% satisfied with the services I receive! I highly recommend this place!

This place is great. Always the best care and customer service.

I went here for the very first time after relocating to the area. I just wanted a haircut. They paired me up with a stylist who must’ve been brand new as she was 18. I sat in her chair for about an hour and 20 minutes. I tried to have her correct my hair while I was there and she really wasn’t understanding me so I decided to leave and after I left I called and let them know that I wasn’t happy with my cut and they Scheduled me for a correction cut the next day. I just left from my correction cut and that was an awful experience. My stylist was visibly upset and took very little time to understand the issue I sat in here chair for about 15 minutes before she pretty much said good and rushed me out of her chair. I’m very upset and will be making the drive into GR design one to have this fixed. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

Those postings were inaccurate and misleading, and I retract them. First time went there and had exyensions pit in and a viking formal braid done. Annie was the best that Ive ever had do my hair. Called around to 16 or more salons and all them said what was that. Annie knew what i wanted and what it should look.like. she my new stylist will be going back again. Thanks Annie.

Extremely unprofessional. Left the salon after a basic hair coloring and realized when I got home there was dye literally surrounding my face around the hairline, and a huge smudge on my cheek. Stylist (Jordan) told me she had worked there for two years, so they clearly don’t care about hiring professional stylists. Talked to two managers. The first one lied to me and said the second one could provide refunds and I would have to speak with her. The second one also lied and said they had a no refund policy and I had been informed of this (I had not). So I paid $90 to have my face died. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Called to get in and they couldnt get me in for a few weeks. Places like this usually have room for walk ins, disappointed

Five star service, lovely, calm, modern interior. My only disappointment was that the gal got A LOT of dye on my forehead. A bigger stain than Ive ever had. I was bummed that I couldnt show off pictures for a few days, until it finally came off. Overall I will be going back but sheesh, how embarrassing to walk around with dye on your face for several days

My wedding party and I made appointments at Salon 297. They were FANTASTIC! They handled 9 of us, all of us needing different services. The salon was beautiful and great for photos. We were out the door on time. Could not be happier with how things turned out.They made a great suggestion for buying the lipstick used on my make up, but they also didnt push me. I didnt feel like I was being up-sold.Grateful for how this turned out :)

Got a Brazilian wax done at Salon 297 by Brittney. She made sure my experience was worth coming back for. Such a soft-spoken young lady. She kept me distracted as we exchanged in dialog. She even said I did a good job, even though I flinched on the inside 😂😂😂. Great experience. Affordable $60.

Great salon and spa. Very clean and relaxing. Went in for a Full Yume and it was one of the most relaxing experiences Ive ever had. My scalp and hair feel great. The staff is very professional and great at providing top notch service. This is my go to place for all my spa needs.

My husband booked me a 1pm appointment on a Saturday which was canceled day of at 8:00 a.m. only to still not happen. After being promised to be squeezed in on the Saturday that I originally booked I was inconveniently reschedule for Monday at 5:30pm. Well when I arrived I was told my appointment was cancelled because I was 15 minutes late and that I was suppose to come at 520 pm. This was absolutely not true and the workers did not even try to accommodate wasting my time.

Lisa was absolutely amazing! Not knowing exactly what I wanted, we talked and she cut my hair perfectly!!! I have found my new salon!!!

I see Kim for my manicure and pedicure service every month. She always listens to what I want no matter how many times I change my mind. The service is calm and relaxing. The atmosphere is inviting. I enjoy the massage chairs and the tempter is comfortable. My complaints are:• There is an older lady who works at the front desk that needs to improve her customer service. She is very slow and not exactly friendly most of the time. There are times when I call to make an appointment, I have to get off the phone and call back later because she is way too slow.• The water tempter when I receive a pedicure is always cold. The nail technician does everything she can to produce warm water, but the water is always cold.Overall, I enjoy every visit. Quality service and a relaxing atmosphere.

Always a great experience at Salon 297!!! Im always greeted warmly as I enter the salon by the ladies up front. They are sure to check me in, take my coat and get me a drink if I want one. If Im early, its fun to browse thru the cool products that are on display. They always have so much more available than just shampoo and conditioner. And if I dont feel like browsing, I just settle into one of the huge comfy white chairs to wait. I dont know about anyone else, but I could probably take a long nap in one of these chairs...Except my stylist, Alyssa, always comes to get me before I can get my nap on. And thats okay, because I adore Alyssa. Ive said it before, and I will continue to say it. Alyssa is a genius at color!! Shes a great stylist too, but shes a total whiz at color. She has given me so many special color jobs, I cant even describe them all. She has given me mermaid hair, peacock hair, rainbow hair, pink hair, green hair, purple hair. Ive never not been delighted with the color that shes created for me. That goes for the cuts too.Alyssa can do amazing things and Im thrilled and so happy that weve become friends and shes willing to create such fun things on my head!!Id be remiss if I didnt mention how nice everyone else is at Salon 297 also. Ive had pedicures there and interacted with other stylists. Everyone is super nice and professional. I cant say enough good things about the place. So what are you waiting for? This salon is absolutely unprofessional. I’ve never been more disgusted by a salon. I booked my hair appointment two weeks in advance and was very specific on what I wanted done to my hair. I go in and the girl tells me that she has me booked for something else (never heard of such bs) and that she doesn’t have time to do what I booked my appointment for (which was balayage and bleach). She told me that she could start on my hair but couldn’t make any promises on finishing it. The whole situation was distasteful. Y’all have been shut down for three months and this is how y’all treat your customers when y’all finally open back up? You’re better off just shutting back down.

I had a great experience here. Grace gave me a great haircut tonight. I have very thick hair and she was patient with me and listened to what I wanted. She took the time to accommodate me. Theyre supposed to close around 8 PM, but when I got to my car, I realized that it was 8:45 when I left! I had no idea and Grace showed zero signs of rushing. Im grateful for my time there.

Very friendly professional. My stylist, Samantha, does a wonderful job listens to what I want and makes appropriate suggestions. Place is clean and elegant looking. Only thing Ive had trouble with is scheduling appointments, they have had errors in my bookings 3 times. So, just make sure you repeat back your scheduled date and time and if youre at the desk get a copy of reminder slips that they can print out.

I have been going here for many years (to the same stylist) and dont plan on going anywhere else, ever. I never leave dissatisfied. Anna always listens to what I want and does a fantastic job every single time. My bridal party and I went here and my girls looked beautiful. I got my makeup done for my wedding as well and couldnt have been happier (Anna made sure I was booked with their best make up artist). I have also had a few massages and my nails done here (Kelsey is great, super friendly and nice to talk with). Overall a great salon and exceptional service.

Ive been on the hunt for a new salon to call home, and my search will stop at Salon 297! Mikell did a fantastic job on my hair. Im so happy with the cut. And she also showed me some tricks on styling it that I hadnt known before. I especially loved that, after telling them over the phone they I have a macadamia allergy, everyone knew when I got there and Mikell checked every product before using it on me. So impressed with the service and professionalism! I will be back for sure and cant wait to try their other services.

My husband and I come here for the couples massage. Their upgraded and larger facility is fantastic! The service is impeccable and the couples massage teams and the rooms are fantastic! The price is pretty good for a couples massage for an hour or an hour and a half. Keep up the great work!

Have been a customer here for years. When they were smaller the service was better. If a stylist was running late they let you know. I had an appointment today, one that was booked a month in advance, and was made to wait 20 min before I went to check how long it would be, and told another 10 minutes. I had called a half hour before my appointment to make sure they were open and the stylist was on time, I was assured she was. Unfortunately this was just the end of many appointments that I waited more that 10 minutes for. I will go elsewhere for my future needs and that of my family. Hopefully I will be able to find a salon/stylist that respects my time as well as their own.

Ive always had a great experience here! Great ambiance, staff caters to you by bringing you a drink and they have cool comfy furniture. The lights are very cool, its always clean. Ive had a couple of massages and a haircut here. Staff is very friendly. They make you feel spoiled and pampered, putting your feet up for the hair washing, massaging your neck and scalp, asking how youre doing through the process. I will definitely go here again.

I love love salon 297 amazing staff, Beautiful place, and best of all they talk to u about what hair cut u want and give suggestions on how they think u should get it cut because u may think u want that hair style but in the end hate it. They also give u tips on how to do your hair also. They also give a small massage while talking with u on how u want your hair cut and they massage your head while washing your hair. I will never go to anyone else but them anymore. I am a person who dont trust many people to cut my hair but this place I will.

Beautiful place and everyones always really nice but Im not fond of the brand [opi, I believe) of shellac polish the nail salon uses. My last mani, 3 nails were chipped within less than 2 days. They happily redid those 3 for free but others are starting to chip and its only been a few more days. Just a little frustrating looking down at a chipped $44 plus tip set of nails.

My daughter LOVED going here to get her haircut at a Professional hair cut place! They worked with her really well to make sure she got exactly the style she wanted! Only reason for 4 stars is that somehow our appointment got mixed up with a bride/bridesmaids party and we waited over an hour after her appointment time to be called back.

I was very excited to get a gift certificate for christmas, I finally made an appointment to get my nails done. I got a same day appointment which was nice, but it just seemed for the price the attention to my nails and hands was rushed. I got my nails done on thursday afternoon and by Saturday night I already have chipping and what looks like tiny cuts and cracks going through my nails. I dont usually get my nails done and was looking forward to the experience its just a little disappointing that my nails are already looking bad.

My 1st Brazilian Wax was with the lovely Ms. Whitney! Whitney made my experience not only comfortable but pleasant!! When She introduced herself to me, I instantly said, I like her! I knew that I could relax although I entered their salon scared of the unknown. Whitney knows her job and its very apparent that, she LOVES what she does and that made my experience worthwhile. She was very personable and easy to talk to. I made a new friend today! And for all of the ladies at check-in; Thanks for being nice, professional, and not afraid to engage in friendly convo!! They discriminated against me cause I’m a male and black. They refused me service stating they don’t feel comfortable. My feelings was hurt and embarrassed. They didn’t even try to see what my hair type was or how dense of facial hair I had. I can’t people go here.

Edit for recent experience(6/2021- 3 stars) my hairstylist was not very personable.. I know they do not have to be but I like when they are and she just made the experience blah.. my sister and I got our makeup done and Isabel or Isabella? Did hers and she felt rushed the whole time. Her eyebrows were very unevenly done and she did not blend her face with her neck.. it looks like an amateur did it not someone that you pay 40 dollars plus tip.. I would not let her touch my face or any of my friends faces.(8/2017- 5 stars) They did my hair and makeup for our wedding and it was amazing! It went so smooth and everyones hair looked great!! I would definitely recommend them to all of my friends!

Ive never had a bad experience here. Obviously Aveda products are incredible alone, but everyone that works here is talented and sweet. I started going here three years ago, moved away, moved back and was pumped that this salon is still the same and feels like home.

Its a beautiful salon with a lot of newer technology and the modern feel. How ever, I was not impressed with my services. Upon being checked in, the woman at the desk had me spell my name four times, couldnt find my reservation and asked me over and over who I was supposed to be seeing - I was never given the details of my appointment. Finally, we found my appointment and I had a short wait in the lobby in a big chair - very comfy! My nail professional greeted me and we got started on my appointment. It took over an hour for her to apply gel nails and give me a manicure. I had several concerns about my appointment - she never cleaned out underneath my nails and left the other gunk and dirt from my daily use. Several of my nails have chipped and are broke two days after my appointment because she didnt want to cut my nail shorter even though I requested them shorter. Most of the time she talked about wanting another job because of compensation for her current position and not enough consistency of appointments. Once I was done, checking out was a nightmare. The woman never spoke to me until she gave me my total for the visit. I handed her a gift certificate in which she took and after several minutes told me to have a nice day. I didnt know how to tip my nail professional or even the names of the people who helped me. Customer service here is poor and the beautiful salon can not mask it unfortunately. I will be going back to my local nail salon that provide a strong gel nail that lasts me 2 and a half weeks, not two days. Will not be back.

I will say that the prices here are sometimes steep, but the service and care that I get from my salon professional, are worth every penny I pay. My hair has never looked better and its all to my giving it over to the care of my professional color specialist, Alyssa, at Salon 297. Shes an absolute genius when it comes to color, and of course shes great at cutting and style and all the other stuff but Ive never had so much fun with all the great color schemes she has done for me!Ive also had a pedicure at Salon 297 from Kim and she did a fantastic job. It was a treat for me and of course felt wonderful and the results were a set of beautiful feet and toes. If I could afford it, Id be there all the time just for the foot massage.Salon 297 offers so many different services now, from massages to makeovers and they sell Aveda products which have to be some of the best smelling products Ive ever encountered. They are also very environmentally aware so I know they are made of nice herbal/cruelty free ingredients.If you are in the market for a new salon, you should check out Salon 297. Theyve been around in Muskegon for a while and now they are out in the general area of the mall, not downtown where they were years ago. I definitely recommend them, as going there is always a nice pampering experience, and who doesnt deserve that?
