The two technicians that came were kind, professional, and a pleasure to work with. They took the time to really clean our AC unit, check vent temp on each room, and answer any of my questions. They encouraged us to follow up with them in two days to make sure our unit is cooling better. Very pleased! We will continue to use them!

We found ourselves with a very stubborn plug in our kitchen sink. A quick phone call to the dispatcher got connected to a technician within an hour. The technician arrived within 5 minutes of the time estimated by the dispatcher. He assessed the problem and communicated what he needed to do and how much it would cost very clearly and got to work. Within an hour our sink was flowing again. I was pleased with the entire process. It was efficient and communication from the dispatcher and technician was thorough and very helpful.

We arrived home from a family vacation late last night to find that our hot water heater had burst and flooded our basement. We have used Tingey twice in the last year for emergency plumbing repairs. Each time, they responded within a couple of hours. They were extremely professional. They fixed the both problems. I forget the name of gentleman who came out a couple of months ago, but Jordan came out this week and was awesome.They also did a visual inspection of some of the major appliances, i.e. washer and water heater, and identified small issues that required attention. They fixed those as well. As they were leaving, they also made longer term recommendations for preventative maintenance and system upgrades.

I scheduled at least two weeks out with this business and a few days before my appointment they called to say they needed to cancel my appointment and move it a few more weeks out because they’ve had emergencies come up and they also need to add on a travel charge both ways that before they weren’t going to charge me before. Or they gave me the option they could refer me to someone else which is the option I chose. This just doesn’t seem like a way to run a business. Not only not keeping my appointment but trying to get more money out of me too. Stay away

I have worked with Tingey Plumbing for the last year as a landlord of apartment buildings and single family residential properties in Salt Lake City and Park City. I am also a licensed general contractor in CA and UT, so Ive worked with many plumbing/HVAC contractors in my lifetime. Tingey is one of the best plumbing/HVAC contractors Ive had the pleasure to work with in 20 years. The most important quality they have is honesty. Lets face it, most dont have the technical expertise to know if their plumber is doing the right thing when it comes to repairs. I have found that everyone at Tingey (Ken, Jordan, Jared and the entire staff) to be trustworthy when to comes to the repairs and pricing. Tingey (especially Jordan, Ken, and Jared) were all so helpful in getting our massive plumbing issue fixed. Before calling Tingey we had tried to work with half a dozen other companies who would either not call us back, or would come out and charge us for their opinions but not work.Jared was always so prompt, professional, and informative when I worked with him to get our plumbing fixed. Not only did he call me back when he said he would, he would also follow up quickly if any of the times changed for the team to come out (which they only did once by 30 minutes).Jordan spent a whole day at our house fixing our septic issue and during these crazy times of COVID he made sure to wear a mask, gloves, and sanitize everything thoroughly. I have used Tingey Plumbing for years. Mr. and Mrs. Tingey run their business with integrity and I am delighted to have finally found them. I am writing today to praise my most recent interaction with the company. Years ago, I had been told by another plumbing company (large starts with a M and its on the top of your google searches) when they installed my soft water conditioner that the soft water was plumbed to go everywhere including to my cold water line in my kitchen sink. Not able to afford replumbing those lines, I have been using bottled water and a water cooler for the past five years. Its been quite a pain. Today, the Tingey plumber Jordan actually tested the water coming out of various taps and gave me the welcome news that in fact the soft water is not piped into my kitchen sink. No more plastic water bottles and lugging heavy water jugs! Jordan is also fixing some connections and piping that were installed with inferior parts and materials by another company. Again I am grateful to have found Tingey Plumbing.

I called Tingey Plumbing & Heating for a furnace tune up and they scheduled me for the next day. Not only did they actually show up when they said but, they called to let me know the techs were on their way. When they arrived, they put on shoe covers and went right to work. They did a great job of cleaning out the furnace and he even adjusted the gas intake because I live at a higher altitude, it doesnt need as much gas. Now the furnace is quieter and more efficient. It was the best experience Ive ever had with a Plumbing & Heating Company. I would recommend Tingey Plumbing & Heating to anyone looking for a company that will do what they say and take pride in their work.

We were having new counters installed in the kitchen and with an appointment they came out first thing to disconnect the plumbing and gas, and then returned in the afternoon (same day) to hook up the new faucet and stove. I was very impressed with the honesty of the AC technician. He came to service my air conditioner because it was dripping water all over the floor of my furnace room. I had heard horror stories about other AC companies. Even though Tingey Plumbing and Heating was highly recommended, I was ready to be told about an expensive repair. The technician thoroughly checked my AC, even climbing three stories to the top of my condo building to check the unit on the roof. I have been using Tingey Plumbing for over 10 years. I have an older home and Ken is always knowledgable about how to fix things and not just replace it. He recently repaired my shower faucets. Remember this is an old house. The replacement parts were still available, and we even got a history lesson from the part supplier on why the part looked the way it did. Had to do with metal shortages during the the war way back when. I am sure they spent more time than what they thought it would take, but they did it right. They also guarantee their work. We are moving out of state and Tingey Plumbing is one of the business I will miss the most. It is hard to find a good, reliable plumber.

My AC motor went out and I called Tingey Plumbing and Heating to see if they could come out fix the problem. They came the same day and arrived on time even though my house is in southern part of Utah County. Their technician was professional and new his stuff. I had to have a wall heater removed out of my house that used to heat the place before we got HVAC. It was a very unique situation, and the guy that came out showed up quickly, and was super helpful and nice about it. Really fair and upfront about their prices and just all around great to do business with.

Im appalled by this company. I needed work done and they bumped me back a day and a half from my original appointment. I waited so long that I no long had the choice to find someone else. After 4 hours of work they charged me $1000!! I couldnt believe it. I was sick to my stomach. A complete rip off. There were two guys who did the job and the older one was so rude to the younger one. I felt so bad for him. My one and only time ever using this company. The biggest rip off ever!!! Stay away! Come to find out the older guy who did the work is actually the owner! Never gave me a bid and just did the work and refused to work with me on the price. The lady I talked to on the phone had no customer service edict at all when I tried to call to resolve my issue. Was the work done? Yes. Was it fair? No!I had two other plumbers come out to look at what it should have cost and they said these guys over charged me by $450 at least!

Ive had Ken over to my house on both plumbing and HVAC issues and cant recommend him enough! Not only did he teach me about the improper and dangerous install job on my furnace from another big name local company, he fixed it correctly and capped off my roof vent. The other thing he fixed was a water pressure issue that no one else could seem to figure out. I know and trust Ken completely. Some of these other comments stem from not having enough staff thats available 24/7 to drop everything. Im fine with that! Ken only works with the best to represent his company and its super hard to find good folks. Either way, you should call and use Ken because he only does things one way - the right way! If your house is flooding or you blow up your furnace and Ken cant get there in 5 minutes, dont panic and freak out! It may take an extra day but Ken does it right and thats what counts.

I cant say enough about my experience with the Tingey team! Pricing was great! Everyone was professional. Admin team worked hard with my claim and took the headache out of it. Most impressive though were the servicemen who treated my home and family with respect. Many unforeseen circumstances arose, and rather than string the project out for a week they worked from 9am - 8pm and WOULD NOT compromise their quality standards. After working hard all day they cleaned every bit of their mess and most of mine that was there before they arrived. I have recommended Tingey many times and will continue to do so, they are like family now, as hokey as that sounds.

Scam Alert!!! This company is a total rip off and has the worst customer service of any company I have ever worked with in my lifetime. Called four times and left a message for Ken Tingey always told they were short handed and he was on a job. Never called back about the heater not working. Had to call another heating company and I was told I was sold a wrong size unit for my condo and it is now burned out and trash. So after buying a brand new heater less then 3 years ago it is now junk and I have to buy a new heater. The only way I could get a call back from Tingey was to tell them if I did not get a call back I was putting up bad reviews. Got as call back ASAP and was screamed at by Candy and then hung up on several times trying to resolve the situation. She then sent me a text stating Reviews go up we are done and I wont even look into it Beware of this nightmare company so you dont get scammed like I did. Also they threatened my with a libel lawsuit if I posted the truth online.

I contacted Tingey due to the high reviews, but unfortunately I didnt have a good experience. The technician was very nice and after the initial bid worked with me on reducing the scope of work to a point that would fit within my budget (he said removal of certain things on the bid would mean the cost would be about 50% less).When the technicians came to do the work, they came and told me that they wouldnt be able to install the vents where they initially planned to because the main structural beam running down the center of the house was in the way--though they did drill up into it with a spade bid--which about gave me a heart attack. I am no structural engineer, but my basement ceilings are fully exposed and I couldve told them not to go through that. They also preemptively cut drywall openings for the spaces the vents were initially going, leaving a mess in the carpet that they didnt clean (happy to send pictures) and not leaving me the drywall squares intact to patch. So now I have a drywall patch job to do.Lastly, when I was presented with the bill, the amount was $100 more than the initial estimate. I communicated with the technician that I was shocked that he was coming in above even the first estimate, and he didnt have that estimate on him, so I pulled it up and showed it to him. I wouldve assumed that a company that was told they could only proceed with work if it fell between a certain budget would be careful to refer to that and respect my constraints.Their customer service person called to get my feedback--which I appreciated, but only offered a credit for their membership. I refused this and found it disingenuous as I had already received this same offer as a new move-in into the area. I said I would like to speak to a manager, and never heard from them again. I feel that a remedy shouldve addressed the problem itself, being that they exceeded the budget.I am aware that sometimes projects take longer than anticipated. Again my ceiling was fully open and no mystery... but even still, I believe it took longer than they anticipated. I was never informed that before work was completed. And knowing my budget constraints, and that I only proceeded with work when I was assured it would fall within said budget, I feel that it wouldve only been good customer service to stop work and speak to me when they had indication that they were going to go over my budget... or at the very least give me the discount I wouldve gotten as a member and reimburse me for the time spent drilling into my beam and into my drywall.Update:While I wish the remedy would’ve brought the cost below the initial estimate and closer to the second one (as I would not have proceeded with the work knowing it would it be that initial cost), they did refund me the amount above the initial estimate, a compromise that I agreed to. I am sure in the future communication about costs and unexpected work will be improved and made more explicit.

Very high priced. The estimate that they gave me was more than double the price of the plumber that I hired. Six hours of work, $4400 for parts and labor. The parts were no more than $200. Seriously.

No one wants to meet their new plumber for the first time at 10:30 at night but Tingey Plumbing and HVAC came to my rescue and will forever be my plumbing company of choice in SLC. They were top notch in response time and able to address the backed up sewer in my Canyon Rim home in a few hours.After a home warranty company assigned plumber who failed to respond to my request for immediate assistance with a sewage back up I called a friend who sent me in the direction of Tingey Plumbing, HVAC. I called them at 8:30pm and explained the situation and that we had sewage in our basement and that no other plumber was available for at least 36 hours. Tingey Plumbing dispatch noted it would be a nominal after hours fee, and they were true to their word, they showed up ready to work at 10:30p.m. Troy, (the plumber assigned to handle our issues) was incredibly knowledgable and efficient. I expected to be there all night. He arrived and had us back in business by 2:00a.m. He even cleaned up the initial ick to get us through the night until disaster clean up crews could be called in.Troy was professional, compassionate and ethical to a fault. This guy could’ve taken me to the cleaners and I would’ve been non-the wiser but he kept his time to a minimum and did a fantastic job. Called Tingey Plumbing in Sep 2011 because I had a leak in my stop and waste valve. Spent $1900, ya - Im stupid, to have it fixed. It was actually a leak in the pipe before my stop and waste. But the tech suggested that I change out my stop and waste to an industrial model, which I agree to. Then he recommended I put in a back flow preventer valve. I agree to all of the above and he complete his work and was on his way.May 2013, a leak from my stop and waste valve was discovered. I called Tingey and there reply was we only warranty the work for a year. I asked if there was anything they could do to help out with the cost if I had them come back out. Said no! Said it could cost that much again to fix the problem.Called another company who came out and discovered the the new pipes they used underground were galvanized and were rusted through. They also said it looked like some of the parts, including the stop and waste, could of been used parts.I wouldnt call Tingey to flush my toilet, let alone work on anything in my house. Shame on them and buyer beware if you use them. Wish there was a poor-horrible rating.
