What can I say... Ive never had a worse experience with a well known brand like 24 Hour Fitness before. Due to their incompetence at cancelation of my account, I lost $400over the course of the past year and a half. I had gotten my account cancelled before I left the country during covid, and upon coming back it seems like they didnt really cancel it. I cant even write comprehensively because of how agitated I am. Thanks for the $36 refund tho lol, waiting on the $400 Im still owed!
The Sauna was set higher than 180 deg F. I informed the front desk personnel about it since that is what the poster on the door said. Front desk personnel said they dont know how to adjust it so they will just let their Manager know. After an hour, it was still not set right nor a sign posted to advice users it is not ready. Apparently the report was ignored and no action was done to address the situation. There is not even a sign on the office rooms who the Manager is that clients can talk to. The lax attitude of the staff maybe the reason why this facility is less frequented and so far is the worst among the 24 Hour Fitness Gyms in the Bay Area.
Nice gym with pool, machines, a lot of cardio machines, classes and free weights room in the back. Haven’t been crowded since there’s another 24 hour fitness nearby, so can get work done. Nice and friendly staff as well.
Its big and much less crowded than the other one nearby. The row machine screen doesnt work. There are pads missing on machines. And why are all the clocks wrong?!?! If youre looking for a place to get a good basic workout, this is great. Its not a five star epic gym though, be realistic!
Worse gym ever, parked my car right infront of the main entrance, someone hit my front bumper n damage my number plate, i spoke to the assistant manager that I have a police quote and showed it and if they can check the camera, came back saying the cameras are not working.
Hidden fees and lies. Can’t cancel. Do not join this one.
Not a bad experience, I travel a lot so not sure the new standards with the west coast gyms. I will say i feel that making an appointment to workout is a bit much, bit it was nice that the place was not slammed with people. The time slots are 1.5 hours so plenty of time to have a good workout.
Recently went in yesterday. If you go to workout the treadmills, ellipticals, stair master, bikes are all blocked off. There are only weight machines available. I noticed several people were not wiping down the machines after each use. Be aware of it so when you use the machines to clean it before you use it. Also the womens locker room had blocked off lockers, and showers blocked off as well and its only available for toilets. I still had a good workout.
Updated Review (2021-07, 4 Stars)=====The staff was partially replaced which is a good thing in that case. In addition, they started to do maintenance on the broken machines. But the machines are still in bad shape, to be clear.I would still like to see that the staff is more strict regarding making sure all guests are following the rules. I do not want to confront rude guest (e. g. occupying several equipment at the same time) myself.Original Review (3 Stars)=====Pro-----Its good to do an old-fashioned workout with weights. The guests mostly follow the Covid-19 protocol including the staff. Not crowded at all (September 2020).Con-----Sadly, I can understand the complaints of most of the other reviews regarding the motivationof the staff. I had problems with the app for example and none of the staff members was willing to take a look at it (I was the only customer around at the time I have asked). In addition, the place needs some maintenance, e. g. the insulation of the roof falls off!
No longer 24 hour worst part they charge you for 24 hours only got time to workout late night don’t wast your $$ better gyms out-there. Way cheaper and better equipment always run down and broken !
Went in for a 3 day trial. Waited at the front desk for 5 mins till someone came up front. Honestly I could have just walked in. Than was unable to get a 3 day trial since I have a NM license? Okay weird I live here now for school and dont see the point to get a CA licence. He let me work out for today, and this place is absolutely disgusting. The hot tub did not look very clean and the steam room was being serviced. This place is rundown, and looks disgusting. Do not go here.
I inquired about a membership, and for some more details about the gym. The man in the office told me, Its a gym. It has the things a gym would have. He told me I couldnt look around because I could get injured, and to go to the website for more information. He seemed annoyed.I pressed him more on what kind of equipment the gym had, and he mentioned it had a pool and a sauna. I told him that I would not have known that. He responded that only four of the locations do not have a pool.In any case, I felt uncomfortable asking any more questions and I said Ill look at the website and come back if I decide to join, and the man said Okay you can do that.Looking at the website now, I see that there is a 3 days free offer. The man did not mention this either.
The staff is perfectly fine. They always are friendly enough and say hello and goodbye. I’m not sure what people are so tight about. It’s a good gym for people who really just want to work out.
I do not recommend this place. The staff members are rude and reaching to members inappropriately aggressively and disrespectfully. I will never ever use this location. Especially that man is offensive and completely rude that walks around a lot.I recommend 24 hour fitness for everyone but not this location and their staff.
Its a bare bones 24 hour fitness. If you found the staff rude, I imagine you must fall over during light breezes and cry. Its no frills, theres no towel service, its a gym and thats it. You can shower, you can swim, you can take classes, there are 2 squat racks. If you want 5 star service, maybe find somewhere that doesnt cost half the going rate of regular gyms.
So sad 😕 reading all comments about the gym. I was looking for the nearest 24 hours fitness. I never been there but people in this world just focus first in negative things. That’s why our world is like that cause we don’t learn how to appreciate the beauty inside the ugliness. ❤️
Extremely rude and incredibly unprofessional staff. I am a former 24 Hour Fitness member and just moved to the area for a job. Im looking for a new gym and so I thought Id check this one out. I go online and they offered me a 3-day free pass. Sweet, I think... Ill be able to try out the gym with no strings attached. NOT.I showed up here. There was one chick at the front desk on the phone for 7 minutes while myself and three others waited. Then some dude comes out from the back, smacking gum, and says Can I help you? I show him my 3-day pass and he asks for ID. I show him my ID and he says, Sorry, you cant work out here. It needs to say Los Altos or Mountain View. Not only did the pass NOT say this was a requirement, but it would be impossible for me to have a new ID within the first week of moving to my new home. I explain that I just moved here and they tell me, I cant help you. I have too many people trying to slip in.So, I try to get my roommate to send me proof of my address. In the meantime, I dig up my old ID that shows I lived here before. I show this to another guy who tells me that he cant help me either. To the staff at this gym, I wrote you a poem:Forever, I will tell others howUncool and howCareless the staff here was to me.Kindness is not in their culture. You would think theyd want my business.Or at least to honor the offer they made me.Unfortunately not.
Staff are nice, the place is clean enough etc. Price is about the best o could find in the area. However, there is a slowly increasing collection of broken machines which makes for a frustrating workout sometimes, so far there is no evidence of anyone fixing any of them.
This place is literally right next to another facility. Its smaller, but seems to be more secret. There were far less people in here when I took a look. No lifting platforms, but theres a Power Rack and that will suit my needs. The layout is...strange, but its got all the basics. Locker room is a touch small, but its not an open-bay like some of the other places Ive been checking-out. This little next-door place actually gets a better review than the much bigger one RIGHT OVER THERE.Id go in here first to see if I could get my Work done. The place is smaller, less people, but somehow nicer than the other place.
I think I should have read the other reviews. The management sucks. Firstly the 7 day pass is a joke. I recently moved here and they want my drivers license to have my newer address. That is the only thing they will accept. Or thats what the really rude guy in the management told me. Worst ever management I ever talked. I was planning to join the gym, maybe i need to find a better one. 😝
12/12/2018Yeah so theres a lot of equipment out there and thats nice but the management gets a big fat 0. Went in to redeem a 3 day pass, find front desk to be incredibly rude, antagonistic and manipulative about the rules. Her manager who happened to be there coincidentally (they dont have 24 management or customer support), also unable to help despite her senior status, was quite confrontational, belittling a future customer, citing reasons why I shouldnt be afforded a trial pass hmm. Oh by the way 25 dollars for a day pass is pretty ridiculous when often the gyms offer a deal at 30 a month ouch thats price gouging economics. So yeah, equipment alright, employees and management = utter cow dung. Customer facing experience so good, youll be facing your phone as you walk in.
This is for the Super Sport. Lots of new cardio equipment. Very good selection of weight machines and free weights. Great classes. Good site layout, all on one floor. Smallish locker rooms. Has co-ed pool, sauna, steam. Convenient location.
Nice gym management could be much better and respectful. Machines can get to be fixed more than a year. The only alternative nearby if the Supersport and it is more crowded.
Poor Management Customer Service, especially the current acting manager whos running the store this month May 2017. Front desk Female associate name Gris doesnt know anything To help us client / customer just to activate a 2 year membership from Costco instead of helping asking customer to move out the building and transfer / inquire across 24 hour sport . All male associates was really nice, accommodating and helpful except to the Manager whos assigned running the store . He dont deserve to be a manager !
Bad service (reception not friendly, dirty, sauna always under repair!!! I hope they will close it.
I have been a 24 hrs customer for around 20 plus years, had the chance to try different locations around the San Francisco Bay area, even I have full access to any 24 hours to the higher end locations, I feel very happy with the regular club location at the San Antonio Shopping Ctr.Along these years the attention I have gotten from the front desk employees has been great, I like to work out solo for two hours at the most twice a week, usually avoid the crowded times sometimes I go late at night when I feel like having my private gym because almost nobody is there.99.5% of their equipment is in great condition, maybe a machine or two are out of service on a given day, cleanliness of the club is above average, and much of this is due to the type of customers that use the facility. As always never fails to show up, the users that are pigs and like to trash the place, the ones that just sit on the machines busy texting on their phones, the ones that disregard the gym rules of no picture taking, no gym bags on the workout floor. All in all I like this gym and the people working in them.Great job!
Convenient and decent equipment. Not the latest but fine for the price that I pay.
No free weights or dumbells. No soap in the showers. Equipment is never fixed when broken signs are on them. Locker room is very small. Tvs get no channels but CNN - worthless news!! Terrible gym.
I love & really enjoy coming to this facility. Been here for almost a year. Staffs are very nice, but I do have an issue with one particular staff member name Steve. Twice, Ive approached front desk about an issue I had with my membership & Rob who was helping was very patient, genuine about my situation & was very helpful. He needed authorization from a manager & Steve came to take a look and was very RUDE. This is the second time i was being treated this way by this man. He shouldnt be a manager if this is how he treats his customers. I refuse to have him help me again from now on. Scott, is a wonderful manager.
The phone number to cancel takes forever. I listened to the music for 50 minutes then I decided to hang up. The online contact method couldn’t click “send” on the website after you fill up every field. I tried again later in the night on my phone and it worked.I remember 24 hours used to allow members to cancel/freeze account online by themselves, very handy, but now it disabled this feature. This is a greedy move but very unpleasant.Be aware of this when you sign up.
I signed up with 24 hour fitness early 2018 @ $50/month, within the first weeks I noticed that the clubs’ maintenance & cleanliness are very poor. And every day at least more than one machine is broken/ out of service. I didn’t complain but simply brought it up to the front desk’s attention. A few months after, I came across human feces in the men’s locker room (several times) & I was charged a hidden annual fee that the sales rep did not mention! This time I was annoyed & complained to Customer Service. We settled for a permanent ongoing monthly rate discount of a few dollars off $50/month to accommodate for the multiple ongoing issues of this company. Then, without notifying me, this company hikes the rate back to $50/month behind my back! Their customer service & management are as poor as their qualities & services! I don’t understand why they would cheat their customers like this?!
Incredibly rude staff. Tried to get a 5 day or 7 day pass cant remember and they literally laughed and said no we dont do that here and said we only have x day free passes. Cant Remember if it sad 3 or 5. Took 30 minutes before they could get someone to the front to sign me up, cause evidently those people at the front desk cant... After my free pass expired I went to upgrade my membership to full. I work night shifts at the hospital and came in early around 5 to 6 am. I Walk in the guy at the front desk never makes eye contact with me. I ask if I could ask him a question he Says ok. I say I had a free pass and wasnt too upgrade to me a member. He says cant help you still the guy hasnt made eye contact with me, he is folding towels or something. I ask ok... When would I be able to do that... He says maybe if you came back during the day they could help you. He still never looked at me. I said thanks and left. Will never be back, I advise you to not join this gym. They are just careless people doing a job they must not like.
I have always had an extremely pleasant relationship with always everyone at every 24 hour fitness location but had a very unpleasant encounter today which was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. I recommend other locations and I will never return to this particular location again. I can only speak very, very highly of other locations but not this one.
Great place with super helpful people. Eddie is really nice and theres a lovely lady at the front desk. Good vibe
Got a 3-day free trial at my local 24 Hour Fitness. Couldnt register because I wasnt able to prove my residence. Had my internet bills, copy of the lease and my passport as a proof. Really? Is that how you attract new clients?
Some of the rudest people that I’ve seen in my life work in this facility!
Worst 24 fitness i have been -_- ;;; plz dont go here
Everything is run down and crappy here. There is actually a weight set I’m pretty sure they bought off Craigslist - it’s an all metal set from the 80s that’s all rusted out. Pretty bummed because I signed up for membership after seeing the 24hr fit in the city and that one is pretty nice.
Great equipments and nice size gym, as well as easy to get to location. However, restrooms always look very dirty and messy. Needs more maintenance! 👍🏻
I work out here after work because its the only one in the area. Its always so crowded here and I dont like how the weight room it in its own little hot box. The sun is blaring into this room after 6. Some shades for the windows would help significantly with heat and with being blinded when youre trying to workout. The weight room is very inadequate as well. Only one squat rack that isnt a smith machine. No seated calf raises, calf extensions, or donkey calf raise machine. From what I can see only one place to do pull ups. Theres never enough benches available. I end up bouncing around spending more time trying to find open equipment to use than necessary.
The best place to go and work out 😍😍💪💪👏👏
Good gym. Enough equipment. Gets packed around 5-6, like every other gym I know. They have nice free classes. The only quirk is that you have to book some classes in advance, and even pay for them.
Dirty omg I dont like, they dont clean, mens shower omg.
Reasonable gym. Lots of modern equipment, good pool/hot tub/sauna/stream room. Unfortunately, they dont have towel service. Expensive for single visit ($20).
Very Pathetic service. They do not have a straight forward answer for any question asked by the customer. Normally I try to e very kind and fair when it comes to writing reviews or critiquing, but this is the worst worst service that I ever experienced in my life. Either you go in person or on phone they were never ever able to help me and they have me do this unlimited number of trips to help me with my issue.

This is a horrible place is you are serious about working out. 1). Users do not remove weights. Having to removed 4-45 lbs weights from each side of the one adequate leg press is unacceptable. Further it is impossible to do super sets the limited equipment offers. For calves they use to have a sitting calf raised that they removed. Now on a couple of below machines remain. I pay monthly and just signed up for Golds where I can actually work out and not always be upset when going to gym. If you are serious about working out -- suggest you try American Barbell Clubs (rebranded from Golds gym).
Not a bad gym. Looks smaller than it is from the outside. Lockers arent available until mid-May.
Ive asked multiple times to switch from my plan to my brothers plan and everytime I am told the time a counselor will be available once its the time I am told and I look for a counselor NO COUNSELOR is ever available! Staff is absolutely no help!
Have heavy equipment you can pick up and put down. Not the largest facility but clean and manageable. BTW free weights are in the back past the locker room.
I am calling now to find out the operating hours and no answer. I am holding 10 minutes. To add more, not very clean place.
This is nice place with full of equipments. This place has enough parking space. this is opposite to Walmart shopping center located at Showers Drv
Dont come here.. 2.7 rating says it all.. its horrible.. please dont waste your time or money. I want to throw up and die..
Worst place to work out. They treat you like crap. Go with a different gym at better prices.
This team absolutely doesnt care about the people only about their money. After 6 calls and an in person meeting they just promise and never take an action for you. Its overly disappointing. They get 1 star but I would give 0 if that would be possible.
I received a 3-day pass on 24 hour website and went to this gym to try it out. The clerk tells me that because the address on my ID is not Palo Alto I cannot use the gym (I recently moved to PA). But he told me I still might be able to use it but have to wait for the manager. Waited for 10 mins and he didn’t show up, and I ended up leaving. Is this how 24 hour fitness is attracting customers? Cause I sure as hell not going to spend a dime on a membership here. I was going to, but not anymore.
One of the nicer Sport 24 hour fitness gyms I have been to.Interesting that a super sport is in the same plaza however
So upest with the management. He was so rude and disrespectful. I dont know how anyone ever hired him let alone even works for him. Ive been here b4 and had great service. But JASON has made me never wanna come back to 24 hour fitness
Great equipment but every single member is paying a different monthly since the sharks (sales people) are trying to up-charge at all times. Why not be more honest and and transparent and have a set rate. Also a bit dirty and crowded.
The lady during the early mornings is great; and everything else is terrible! My membership was about up and I asked 2 days ago when it was to expire, and the man told the 15th of this month. Today, I go and am not allowed to workout as it has expired! The place is very dirty and towers all over the place and many machines are always down. I would not advise anyone to join.
Compared to most of the other super sports in the area, this one is a little bit behind, but it is generally clean and has nice equipment. The newly added turf area has been a huge improvement. The only downside to this place is the locker room as its a bit small.
This SuperSport is decent, and is nicer than the Sport in the same parking lot. Some of the machines are a little older, and the locker usually has a wet floor at peak hours. The highlight is the aquatic area, which has a pool, steam room, sauna and hot tub. The showers also have doors, which seems to be uncommon in lower-tier 24 Hour Fitness locations. At the CostCo price ($650 for 2 years), the membership is worthwhile over the Sport price ($400 for 2 years).
Plenty of equipment. Lots of space. They just brought in a bunch of new cardio equipment to replace some of the broken pieces on the floor. Overall a really good experience.
Please install hand sanitizer in locker rooms and in addition install .disinfectant bottles and paper towels to help decrease spread of germs.
EDIT: the staff still is a bit slow and unresponsive about fixing problems, but theyre getting quite better. Theyve also improved maintenance on their wet area, kick out habit squatters more often, and revamped their locker room. However, their schedule for fitness classes is inaccurate. Still, gets an extra star from me.Old review:The lack of front desk clerk at midnight has lead to dangerous things. This includes extremely rude nonpaying squatters sleeping in the wet area. Even at daytime the clerks know nothing about basic information about the place.Bad regulation on lots of things -- half the time that I use the Mens locker room bathrooms there is no toilet paper, and the weight setting on machines dont get corrected often at all. It took them many months to fix only a selection of their broken showerheads. On the subject of the locker rooms, I think itd be great if the TVs were not there-- although that might be a subject for elsewhere.Having no security at midnight is completely unacceptable, and may even get them in trouble. The exact overall management of this place has dropped fast in recent years, and just too many things are wrong with the whole thing. For its convenient location and hours, I would very much like to see some improvements, for petes sake. The wet area is very decent, I spend a lot of time there. For the record, this review is for the less costly non-Supersport.
Half of the treadmills have broken emergency stop lines, and nothing got fixed for months. The management does not care about customer safety.
Last night, we were discriminated and disrespected at the Zumba Studio in this gym. My Zumba instructor and a group of 8 students, all Hispanics members of this gym were kicked out of the studio by this arrogant guy who was rude to us and asked us to stop the music. We were recording a Zumba video for youtube when he came in the middle of the video and said You guys can practice dancing but without music. I believe he disrespected our Hispanic community in this gym and instead of helping and supporting us, he decided to attacking us by stopping our practice. Shame for this customer service guy that doesnt care to run customers away from this gym. Blessings anyways.
Came here for about half a year. The facility itself is pretty large and has all the equipment you would expect. They have an okay swimming pool. If you come in before evening its not that crowded. Having a gym thats open 24/7 is VERY convenient. Only reason I left is to join Planet Granite.-1 star for sleazy business practices. When I signed up I felt like I was being pressured into signing up for personal training even though I already had a personal trainer where I work. Also, you cannot cancel membership online, you must call by phone and wait on hold to cancel.
When this SuperSport opened, it was nice. Since then, it seems to be heading into disrepair and apathy. The front desk staff is friendly with greetings, but when trying to discuss maintenance issues with them, they dont seem to be as interested. At one point, there was a shortage of collars for the Olympic bars. I asked if they had extra and their reply was yes, you just have to look for them. Another time, a cable machine was missing a clip to attach the various handles. Their solution was to go find it yourself (which seems like an odd reply when Im asking them).
Terrible service here. I came in person to learn about the membership and they told me to go check it online. They only talk to me if I want to enroll right away.
Generally, I work out late at night. Less than half the time, there is someone at the front desk. So, if you need help for any reason, you are generally out of luck. Also, they play the music very loud at night, so if you want to watch tv or your own headphones, it is not easy. Management does not seem to care. I cancelled my membership.
No wi-fi that i know of. Always have to wait for dumbells. Havent checked basketball scene yet. Good amount of machines > newark 24. Double thumbs up for punching bag; still waiting for newark 24 to add one.
Was looking for a gym nearby my company so I can get a workout in before work and decided to get a 3 day trial to 24 hour fitness.I was told that 3 day trials are for LOCAL residents only and I was not able to use it, I called 24 hour customer service to ask for some help because I was not going to get a membership to a gym I haven’t even tried out.. (note: I’m from San Jose... is that not “local” enough to Mountain View?)
Shockingly rude and offensive man working on reception. I came to take out a membership but was so horrified and upset by the way the receptionist spoke to me that I just walked straight out. Intimidating and disgusting.
Nice people, but the facilities are terribly outdated. The mens showers are consistently out of order, or the drains are backed up, or, right now, theres a hug hole in the wall. The bikes and treadmills tend to be on their last legs - squeaky, wobbly, not providing the resistance they should. Its embarrassingly bad. My guess is they want to drive everyone to the more expensive Super Sport plan. Thats probably where they get all of their equipment - the new stuff goes to Super Sport, and the old stuff then goes to this one. Honestly, the worst maintained club I have ever seen.
Theres a lot of red flags here.. that raises some serious questions before getting a membership.
Very nice place. I go here three times a week.
Customer service was absolute trash. One of the employees had the worst attitude Ive ever experienced. He literally yelled at me and told me to get out of my gym after I was upset about the 3 day policy. Me and my friend from out of state moved here for the summer and couldnt use the 3 day trial period to check out the gym because we werent local residents even though we moved here for the summer. Would never walk in here again.
Worst service Ive ever experienced, even worse than spirit or allegiant!Highly disrecommend that place! They wouldnt cancel my contract although the manager who set up two contracts for me and already canceled one of them was present because there was no manager around. Even when I told them I saw the manager they still argued there was no manager around.I hope Ill be able to get rid of them soon, still trying to cancel my contract.
Dirty, Smelly and Under-equipped.. for what they charge it was a complete letdown. Also the people that manage this store are incompetent and rude at times
You get what you pay for. super cheap but the downsides are its too crowded and theres no wifi
Very slow service, and tons of upselling. Be wary, your time will be wasted judiciously.
There a a couple of excellent instructors but classes are mainly awful many instructors have poor form. Dictorial inflexible management style.
No hot water in the womens shower, and water with very low pressure.
Great place to go during the day because it is not crowded. I like that the free weights room is separated in the back.
If only I could give them a -5 stars. They arent even a gym if they nag you to upgrade WHILE WORKING OUT.
For the facility itself, its actually a little better than before (as before the Super Sport opened), as fewer people uses it now. The equipment is all beat up, but adequate. The problem is the service. People there, from manager to the staff running the front desk, act either like used car sales people and/or jerks most of the time. Do staff get training on how to be predators against customers at 24 hour fitness? When you try to enroll or cancel, membership, the staff there always give you a hard time, and most of time they are wrong. I pulled out the their membership policy from my iPhone and showed to them, and they still gave me crap.
2016 Membership fees are higher than ever! Qualitty is very LOW!! Showers room and swing pool area closed for the last 3 month. Drains are not working at all in this building from the restroom to showers and etc... That is NASSTY! Nothing has been remodeld since, which i was told when i was paying for my yearly membership! Im member since 2005, and this is the worst it can get, and we are in year of 2016.Equitment are old and dirty!! Cant touch nothing and nowhere you can step. I also was told by the support team that a chinese company bought 24hourse fitness. This my last year as member, defently it is wrong to suport such a dirty and nassty place, which supposed to be a place to relax and enjoy! PAY MORE AND GET LESS!!!!
Says it opens at 4:00am but half the time they open when they want. Not professional!
$20 for one day pass, $55 for one week pass, is just ridiculous. Equipment are way too outdated. Seriously Considering cancelling my membership.
Extremely poor service these days, the steam room timer still in daylight saving time as of today 11/12/2015 and stopped at 10PM! It should be adjusted to normal time and stop at 11PM as company notice shows no steam 11PM-4AM for water saving.
Front desk is very very rude. I went to join the club and he forced me to give money without giving details
Just moved to the area and using free passes to try different gyms before I commit. Their web page to load a free pass kept getting stuck after taking my info; it would never actually load the pass. When I called to ask them about it, the woman basically said, Sorry, theres nothing we can do about that and we cant issue you anything here. Guess Ill go somewhere else.
I dont have any problem with this location.
Great customer service
