The reviews you see are unfortunately true. This place never has any vehicles and you can’t trust the hours of operation posted on here because they never hold true to the hours. I have Booked vehicles, got confirmation, only to arrive and be told there are none available. I am a president circle member and drive hertz vehicles 75% of the year for work and this is by far the worst I have experienced. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else even if it means a drive to Knoxville. This place should probably close it doors.
Do not rent a vehicle from these people. I should have known better after standing in line 15 minutes hearing other people in line before me . But I had a reservations and needed the vehicle so I went with it worse mistake in my life. They doubled the price they told me that it was going to be my bill went from 498 to $861 .boy did I get screwed. I could have rented a car anywhere else for $87 a day but not here. If I could give this location and company a 0 star rating I would. Initially I rented a vehicle in St. Louise and was dropping it off here at the Morristown location. My charge was going to be $1,070.28 with a $200 service charge with a total of $1270.28 that I would get back after I dropped the vehicle off. Right before I went to drop it off I took the vehicle through a car wash and cleaned it exactly how I received it and fueled it back up the same way. Upon arrival I found out that there was no workers at this location and its supposedly a drop-off station. I called them and they stated that they wouldnt be able to pick it up until later that evening and I needed to leave the keys in the drop off box. 15 minutes after I left this location, I was charged another $166. I then proceeded to call and ask; one, why would they lie to me and say they wouldnt pick the vehicle up until later that evening and two, what is this extra charge for (I was supposed to be getting $200 back). They then stated that I didnt fuel the vehicle back up all the way and that I trashed and smoked in the vehicle. I then told them I could take blame for the fuel, but I DID NOT smoke in that vehicle. I let them know there was no way I could have smoked in that vehicle because of health conditions and I wanted to know how they came up with those accusations. They then said there was ashes and char stains on the interior and I let them know I needed pictures. They sent before and after pictures and you can clearly see no such thing and that the drop-off pictures were much more detailed and they called the small crumbs that were there before I picked up the vehicle evidence of smoking. And on top of this I found out that they have a third party come and pick up the vehicle (this third party gets extra pay for cleaning vehicles after picked up). Because of this its my word against theres when trying to dispute these extra charges. And when I called trying to dispute the charges, they then said every charge is final and everything is undisputable. I will never be renting for myself or recommending Hertz to anyone. This is an awfully ran company and they will do anything to get extra money from there customers.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I made a reservation, received my confirmation, and when I went to pick up my rental car was told there were no cars available. I could have booked a car with a different rental agency if they had the decency to inform me of their little issue. Appeared to be an HQ issue but the local staff member did nothing to help me at all. Left me completely stranded.
Hertz requires a $50 hold for a rental car for an insurance claim. Won’t accept a prepaid card. Won’t accept a credit card that is not on insurance policy. Won’t accept cash. Leaves poor people up the creek without a paddle. Never using Hertz again.
Very rude, unprofessional. They would not let me have a car because I was paying with a bank card, even though it was a Visa card. Any card with a Visa logo on it is considered a major credit card, and I have used this same card several times when renting from elsewhere. This location is terrible, as well as being run by morons.
EG is amazing!! My car has been in the shop for over a month, the last 2 weeks because of Covid. EG was very compassionate/understanding regarding the situation and did everything in his power to help me. The world needs more people like him! I highly recommend this company!!

Second time using Hertz.Have always used enterprise when needing a rental. And was going to use them again because a online search had enterprise as cheaper for a 1 day rental. Booked online.We needed to meet our daughter and grandson at UT Chattanooga by 11:00 to help move grandson into his dorm. I received a call from enterprise 1 day prior to confirm reservation and they informed me what I needed to bring (Credit or debit card, bill with your name on it) We have no credit cards just a debit card in my wifes name. We arrived at enterprise at 7:50 the morning of rental. We have rented from enterprise maybe about 8 times over the years. Never had a problem like we had this time. They would not rent to us because my name was not on the debit card. Will not go into detail except to say neither the manager or the person who was completing our reservation gave a S__t one even had a smirk while saying Have a nice day. Drove to Hertz not expecting that we could get a rental on short notice. Michael (branch manager) was very helpful and even upgraded our economy car to an impala. Very positive experience as was our first time we rented from Hertz.
I was incredibly impressed with the service provided. I usually use Enterprise, but due to having a wreck and the auto insurance I have they recommended hertz. If I only knew then what I know now I would have used hertz in the past. Thank you hertz for the wonderful experience. Will definitely use again in the future!

They went out of their way to make my rental experience a great one. They actually picked me up from my location and brought me back to the rental store to do the paperwork, and after a few quick questions I was on my way in a clean low mileage new car. Toward the end of my rental agreement, I needed the car for one more day and all it took was a phonecall to them and I was good for another day rental without hassle. I would definitely recommend Hertz to anyone looking to rent a vehicle. They have a price category for any budget, and the autos are all very nicely equipped. And to add, the staff is friendly and helpful, which is more important than everything else combined.
Michael was great to work with. Very professional and great prices for such good quality vehicles. It only took five minutes from the time I walked in to the time I was in the car and driving off.
The manager has been very helpful every time we have been there. They had a good selection, and if they didnt have what we needed, they got one in for us. Good clean vehicles.
I had a pickup at the Morristown location and the guy asked me where I was going. I said “to see my girlfriend who recently moved to Arkansas.” He responded with a sarcastic “How is that working out for you?” Really dude? Mind your own business and do your job.

I have always rented from Enterprise in the past. Thought I would give Hertz a try. Never again! They needed a 2 day notice for the drop off service to my mechanic where I was getting my car repaired. Then I find out that I have to return it in a clean condition. I am not a dirty person, but Enterprise tells me not to worry about the garbage and such because they have to clean the vehicles up before the next rental anyways. Hertz evidently expects the previous customer to clean your vehicle for you. They were not very friendly and seemed more interested in making sure they got every up charge and fee they possibly could than good customer service. I felt like just another number not a customer. Live and learn.
This is where I will be renting my cars from in the future. I had been a faithful customer of Enterprise Rentals in Middlesboro, Ky, but the last 3 times I rented from them, I had issues. Once it was over the credit card policy which up to that point, I had never had that particular issue. The second, they were 3 hours late getting my car and having it ready with no apology or anything. Third, was issues with me trying to use my debit card, which i had used there several times previously. I contacted Hertz the day I was supposed to leave after having the last issue with Enterprise and within an hour and a half they had my car ready. No issues with my debit card, no hassles, no rings to jump through last minute. Exceptional customer service.
Rented a car a coulle weeks ago. Had an accident. The road side service was extremely helpful and had me back in the road in a jiffy. Will definitely be using them again the next time I need to rent a car.
My problem isnt with Hertz exactly, but with this particular location. For the past year and a half my husband and I have been renting cars from Hertz almost on a monthly basis. We recently moved to TN, and have needed to rent cars again. We chose Hertz because we have a Gold Membership and accumulate points. The time before last they said we picked up the car almost a full day before we did and when we dropped it off we were charged for smoking, we dont smoke, for mileage, and for 2 more days because it was after hours. This rental went from being $130.00 to almost $500.00. This past time we rented a car and used our points to get a free day. We were never told when we picked up the car that they did not have an after hours key drop off, and if we did leave the car we would be charged until the next business day. So our one day rental turned into a four day rental, and went from $32.00 to $101.00. I feel cheated and so incredibly disappointed with the customer service. Regardless of the great points system and prices, we plan to only rent cars elsewhere from now on.
First and last time with Hertz. Sorry but I definitely get better service with Enterprise.
The Manager on sight was outstanding in helping us book a car for a trip home when all other rental competitor locations around the area gave us the run a round thanks again for saving our vacation from be a nightmare.
The Morristown location.is the worst experience of service I have had in my life. If you are needing to rent a car avoid this place a all cost. They dont tell you that there are extra charges they just hit your bank account with unartorized drafts. And when you call customer service about it they are the rudest people you could deal with. I would recommend Empire car rental they are excellent and Hertz could stand to learn more than a few things from them.
Made a reservation 2 months prior for a car, when i got there they unapologetically told me they didnt have a car for me but if i wanted to take a 12 passenger van i could. When i refused to pay extra for the van or more for gas they pretty much told me it wasnt their problem.

We always like renting from Hertz in Morristown, have used them for years. Love the fact our car is ready for pickup, no fuss- & same with drop off. Its very easy. Never problems with any vechicles, & they off military discounts. Harvey has always lead a great team - thats why we continue to use them.
Truck broke down had to wait 3 hours for them to send someone out to repair the truck. Which added 3 more hours to our 12 hour drive home. Next day turned truck in got nasty look from owner at baton rouge store off Florida Blvd.. due to us needing him to leave his home to help us with another problem we were having. Customer service is horrible. Never again will we use them
Hertz cars from this location have been great both times I have rented from them. The employees are professionals with a sense of humor too.
Bad service. Wont help you get any good savings like the bigger stores like at the airports. I do not recommend this office.

Approximately one month ago my son and I were looking for one way trip to Tennessee to help my wife returned from her vacation. I looked around at various car rental agencies and each one of them had a very high drop off rate. Except for Hertz I discovered that hurts is corporate-owned so you can take their vehicles and drop them off at any destination across the United States. Example is Enterprise Rent-A-Car although their daily rental included unlimited miles example $45 to drop off rate was 250 so at the end of your journey you will pay almost $300. When I rented my midsize vehicle from Hertz and dropped it off at one of their agencies that only cost $145. This included the insurance that I took out on the vehicle. So if youre looking for a one way trip say to any part of the country I would highly recommend Hertz car rental. Their staff is friendly the vehicles are clean and the rates are excellent.
Worst place to rent a car. If you need to rent a car, go somewhere else. They tried to changed me a $400 cleaning fee. I proved to them that the dirt would wash off but they said it would cost $400 to detail the vehicle. I’d like to know who details their vehicles because they are making a lot of money. Hertz Morristown, TN is a bunch of money hungry idiots.
Rent a car that had damage. A month later they came after me accusing me of damage to the car. If I hadnt kept the prerental agreement. I would of had to pay $1500.00 for damage I didnt do. They didnt even check their own records. They just sent collection agencies after me. Poor poor unprofessional customer service.

Well my family and I rent a car for about 10 to 11 days. Well the Saturday we was to leave Richmond, In mind to say at 3:15 pm we had a fla. So we called the roadside assistance and they tell me to pay to have someone put the donut on ( $75.00) mind we just had Christmas and then she tells me we have to drive it to indy airport with is 87 miles or so on a donut with 3 children in the car and it 5° but fells like -5° to - 8°plus it just snowed about 3 to 5 inch there. So I thought of Dayton airport...So we end up driving to Dayton airport witch was 47 miles but still had to drive in the snow and some ice to get there! Took a total of 3 hours from the time we got the flat and drove the car and got another rental before we got on the road to go home... Then we returned the car back and to get a call that not only everything that has happened to us but they are changing us 45.00 to put a new tire on. We will not be back the a Hertz place again!! Our business is goin elsewhere.
Morristown location is bad service and unprofessional customer services, so rude and unhelpful at all, first time and last time, please don’t go this location.
Worst customer service ever and not the least bit friendly! The car was nasty and full of dog hair when I picked it up! They tried to tell me there were scratches on the door, which was wet gravel dust since it was raining the day I returned it and he continued to argue it was scratches even after I wiped the “scratches” off. I have rented with enterprise multiple times and never had an issue actually they were great, I would have used them this time but my insurance company sent me to hertz and I’ll never use them again!
