Kim altered a formal gown for me. She was very fast and did a great job. I will definitely use her services again.
Although she did what she said she was going to do to the dress I brought in, I am giving her 1 star because she was extremely rude to me for absolutely no reason. She was very difficult to understand as well, which probably added to whatever she was frustrated about, which was seemingly everything. Id much rather her have told me she didnt want to work on the dress than complain to me about how much work it was and then get snippy with me when I went to pick it up. She was also very pricey, but reviews made me think she was good so I went with her over others. I will never recommend her to others.
This is my go-to place for alterations, button replacements, everything. Great work, very pleasant and quick service, in a nice location (Montgomery Square). Cant say enough good...even did some emergency same day work for me.
This was the worst interaction I have ever had with another human being in my entire life and unfortunately, it was centered around my wedding dress. Let me start by saying I like to keep the peace - I smile when I speak to people, I say please and thank you, and I have never really been involved a confrontation. She was recommended to me by Yours Truly, Kelly which has since shut down. Kim was rude from day one, batting my hands away from my dress when I tried to touch it while I was wearing it, grunting as a way of saying hello, and discarding any of my questions simply by saying, Ive been doing this for 20 years, take my word for it. She cut the hem of the dress before I asked her to so now I have to wear flats. I could have ignored all of this had she done a good job with the rest, but after about 6 visits (I cant remember exactly how many), I left with a dress that still didnt fit and was poorly patched together. She was still trying to charge me full price for my alterations. The bust was still too big and when I tried to pay her for services rendered (which was short of the original quote because she didnt do everything she said she would), she started yelling at me. And I dont mean she raised her voice, I mean she started calling me a god damn B**** over and over again among several other scathing names. She was pointing her pen in my face while I sat back in shock. Finally I wrote her a check for my original offer and handed it to her and asked my mom, who was holding my dress, to head towards the door. Kim ripped up the check and leapt out from behind the counter screaming NO! and lunged at my mom. I had to jump in between the two of them while Kim slammed into my back over and over again shouting, You cant take the dress until I get my money! I had to guide my mom to the door while essentially boxing Kim out basketball style and when I reached for the handle, Kim smacked my hand away and locked the door. SHE LOCKED US IN. She started saying the f*** word a lot and shouting that she was going to call the cops and make me try the dress on for them. I decided that was enough so I called the cops because it is illegal to lock someone in your business (its called unlawful restraint, as the cop reminded her when they got there). As we were waiting for the cops to come, my mom and I sat down while Kim guarded the door and shouted at me. She cursed my wedding, saying that she prayed it f***ing fails and that my marriage fails. When the cops got there, they ended up mediating for us (which they did not have to do because the issue of money was a civil suit so for that, I am grateful). Kim ended up taking the money I initially offered her as long as I didnt press charges.Kim told me repeatedly that it was impossible to make the bust on my dress smaller. She said it was impossible, absolutely impossible to remove the cups. She told me over and over again that she knew more than me and when my mom asked, she said, You do it! If you know so much, why dont you do it! Since this whole encounter, I have gone to another seamstress who removed the cups within minutes of me being there without batting an eye. The new seamstress also redid Kims bustle because it looked terrible. Not only is Kim incredibly rude, but she is also an incompetent seamstress.
Kim is so great! Very nice and accessible. Prices very reasonable.
I have been going to Kims Alterations for about 5 years after having issues with another company - I live in Batavia and I have no problem driving 30 minutes to Kims - She has always always done a great job - I only trust Kim for all of my alterations
Kims does a great job at a reasonable price. She is very friendly and has completed many minor jobs at little or no cost.
Kim is a friendly & knowledgeable tailor who was very honest with me when I asked her opinion about 2 evening gowns for our daughter’s wedding. Her pricing is also fair.
Miss Kims alterations are flawless & her prices are reasonable. We have trusted Miss Kim with all of our alteration needs for many years.
