Since we have moved in, we have had multiple leaks. Just last week our sink leaked and flooded our master bathroom and now this week our hot water heater has leaked into the spare bedroom closet. These aren’t the only two leaks. We had one prior to moving in and one, two weeks after. We have only lived here six weeks. We put in a call to the office manager and she never returned our call. You’re paying for the amenities and that’s it. The gates don’t work half the time either. These are definitely WAY overpriced for what you get. I have lived in apartments before and never experienced so many leaks. I wouldn’t recommend living here. The only reason I’m giving a two star is for the nice pool, playground, and friendly community.

Moved in a week ago, AC didn’t work the first night at all, maintenance has came out 4 times to “readjust the vents” and add freon. Management seems to be negligent and doesn’t want to fix the AC and just temporarily fix it. Bedrooms were hitting 78 degrees with the rest of the apartment was at about 71 when it’s almost 90 degrees outside. Maintenance says the same thing every time they come out. Do not recommend.

We loved our stay at The Charleston Apartments. They are beautiful and up to date. The grounds are always clean and the maintenance team are awesome. Thank you Sarah for all your help! Would definitely recommend this complex to anyone!

Sarah is the only person that is even helpful and maintenance has always been great. The only two positive things about this complex. The first 3 months were great but after that their attitudes QUICKLY change. Apartments are loud and the stairwells are not kept up. In the instance that you can’t give a 60 day notice... they don’t care if you’re in the icu with a breathing tube! They don’t wanna hear you out as they simply do not care about your well being. They’re gonna add $200 on top of the rent you’re already paying. $1200 for a 1 bedroom during a pandemic. Highly unprofessional and management is awful. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

These are hands down the nicest apartments in town. And on top of that the staff are really pleasant and do a great job at making sure all of your needs are taken care of. When I move back Ill definitely be renting from them again.

The apartments and grounds are so beautiful. It almost feels like living on vacation. The pool and clubhouse are so nice. Its great to live in such a pretty apartment and have an equally pretty pool to escape to outdoors. I recommend these apartments to everyone!Also, the management is the best! They take the needs of the tenants seriously and go out of their way to help in any type of situation.

Great place to stay! Office staff is super helpful and service requests are taken care quickly without delays. Amenities are maintained nice and clean. Additionally, management communicate quickly on any ongoing activities and events. I would highly recommend this apartment complex if you are looking for a peaceful and secure place to stay.

Parking and parking enforcement is only issue.Other then that they are great. Best swimming pool, future gathering spot coming in area hands down.They do social partnering events within guidelines and still awesome.Back to parking Let’s pay a higher price parking pass to maintain.No pass no park, get towed..thanks

I love living here! Everything is so beautiful. The grounds are well maintained. Upon entering your apartment at night the stairs are well lite, making it a safe place for you and your family! Sara is the best! She is so kind and helpful, She guided us through the whole paperwork process. If you decide to check the Charleston out ask for Sara!!

Lived here for a year and a half, staff was always really friendly and helpful. Community activities/engagement was top notch, not what you’d expect in a city as small as Mobile. Maintenance was always quick and gave you a heads up. Pool is really large and always clean. If you’re looking for a nice apartment and this is your best option for West Mobile.

I’ve lived at Charleston for over 4 years. These are amongst the best apartments you will find in Mobile.The location is great with easy access to the interstate and West Mobile. Being on Sollie, traffic isn’t bad and there’s never trouble getting out like some other apartments I’ve been to.The staff has always been friendly and went above and beyond from the front office to the maintenance. I greatly appreciate that on the rare occasion that we have a need to call maintenance, that they are quick, but take the time to make sure it’s done right.Even the other residents I have met have all been friendly. Everything is always clean and well maintained and overall it’s been a fantastic place to live over the past few years. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to live.

Mixed review here. First off the office staff is Nice, they are always polite and willing to help. We fell in love with the layout of the apartment, Unfortunately it’s hard to fully enjoy it. I get apartment life is not going to be completely quite, but the level of noise that comes from the master bedroom next door is ungodly. The walls literally shake. They have a surround sound set up and have it on full blast all day and night. I’m never able to go to sleep or take a mid-day nap until they decide to. It’s literally made me miserable, it’s like living next to a nightclub. I’ve called multiple times but nothing has helped. I appreciate a good sound system, I have one in my living room but I’ll always be respectful of those around me. If I hear a knock I’m turning it down, period. Guess it’s just me. I was planning to stay a few years but unfortunately I plan to move as soon as the lease is up. If that problem was solved I would love to stay because the neighborhood is beautiful.

I love coming home to my beautiful apartment! It feels upscale, but is still warm and homey. There are also tons of pros to living at Charleston, including the biggest pool I’ve ever seen. I’ve been pleased with the office staff and haven’t had any issues. I plan to renew my lease!

I love it here. The staff is amazing and always very prompt in responding to different matters. The staff is constantly having events to get the community involved. Glad I chose to live here. It is also a quiet community and also have courtesy officers on site and it just make me feel a little safer.

I havent moved here yet. My review is based on my experience with them so far. I am moving here from out of state, i am currently down here for a few days looking for an apartment. From the moment I walked in Paige greeted me with a friendly smile and welcoming vibe. She was very patient with me and answered all the millions of questions I had. The community is beautiful and they offer 3 different options for your apartments (floor and cabinet colors), I have never seen that offered before. I love that it is gated and only accessible for residents. I look forward to this being my future home.

I signed a 13 month lease at Charleston. For Mobile, they are nice, updated, and spacious. When we first moved in, we were extremely satisfied with the place: great customer service, nice grounds, and quick response to maintenance requests. However, after three or so months, an up stairs neighbor moved in with two kids. We could hear EVERYTHING. For the price, you would think that the walls wouldn’t be so paper thin. I could hear conversations, the garbage disposal (not to mention it would even rattle the ceiling), I would hear when they vacuumed, their kids would sound like a marching band all hours of the day/night. I’ve lived in apartments before, but I have never experienced anything like that. Even cheaper apartments never sounded like that. I had a new born and only wondered if my neighbors could here him cry at night. Towards the end of our lease (month 12-13), we started to feel stuffy in the master bedroom and ended up discovering black mold around the windows (in both the master and guest bedrooms). I wish I would have gotten a picture, but between the move and living with my parents for most of the last month, I forgot. Lastly, upon moving out, we were told that we did not owe anything after a walk through inspection. the girl who assisted us, I think her name is Sarah not sure, only requested that we check the tubs (which are super cheap and hard to clean) and the oven. After we checked those and cleaned those, we signed a paper stating we did not owe anything. A week later we received an email stating we owed $468.26 in carpet damages. The girl who did our walk through tried saving herself and told the manger that she told us about the carpet; however, she only mentioned the oven and tubs. I believe I could have gotten the carpet clean (only 4-5 little spots). Just very disappointed with the entire experience to say we spent OVER $12,000 in rent to be charged almost $500 for carpet in ONE bedroom.

I am only giving two stars for the indoor maintenance team, which has improved greatly lately. Otherwise, I would give a one star. One word to rate this place is trashy. Trashy people and trashy grounds. My husband and I have lived here for about nine months now, and the standards for the kind of people management has allowed here has gone down. Not sure of change of management or not, but we have been sorely disappointed with the people that have been allowed to moved in, not to mention loud as well (we have to constantly listen to loud music until 11:00-12:00 in the night and have filed complaints on separate occasions to no avail). Random pieces of trash that have been purposefully left by residents are just outside the surrounding areas of my apartment. The stairs and walkways/hallways are also in desperate need of cleaning (have not been cleaned in months) and are so disgusting that I am embarrassed to have guests over. To say the least, the only thing going for this place is the excellent and prompt maintenance that came a day after I called to fix some things. Do yourself a favor and live elsewhere, unless you are alright with trash in all meanings of the word. We are not renewing our lease and do not feel safe here anymore.

It was a wonderful place to live until the management changed the standards to accept new residents application. They lowered the standards so they can get more people in. The diversity of this community has changed significantly since then. It is not worth it paying this much of money no more. You can pay way less in other communities with same level and class of residents. A lot of old residents moved out because of this issue, and thats why Im moving out in couple of weeks myself.

Charleston is the best Community Ive ever lived in. It is super quiet, gives lots of options to the tenants. The amenities are always cleaning and working which is a huge improvement from what I am used to. My repairs have been completed quickly and the property manager has returned my requests promptly and professionally! I plan to be here awhile

We loved our stay at Charleston! The staff is great!! I loved the pool and gym. Both are very clean and nice. The grounds were always well taken care of, and maintenance always took care of problems quickly. Haley, the manager, is very sweet and helpful along with the rest of the girls in the office.

Was a part of this community for 3 years. While there were occasional issues with maintenance, the office and maintenance staff were helpful and efficient in resolving any issues that arose (usually within a day).Been around a few apartment complexes in my time; this was by far the best. They may be on the pricey side... but you get more than four walls and a roof you get so many other amenities as well as another family.

Mixed review, unfortunately. Quite nice property (especially for Mobile). Renovated units are in terrific shape. I never experienced any issues with noise or unsavory characters. My neighbors mostly kept to themselves but were friendly. The maintenance team went above and beyond for me time & time again (including two water leaks and misc minor problems). However, the office staff was consistently unprepared, disorganized, error-prone and very unwilling to admit or apologize for mistakes. Service and attitudes were so poor that this is my first ever Google review -- it was that bad. I had a great experience with Hayley, the GM, but shes also ultimately responsible for her office staffs issues. Just keep expectations low on the admin aspects involved and youll enjoy the property.

This is one of the best apartment complexes I have lived at. The staff is always friendly & when I had a few minor problems the manager spoke with me herself & fixed things quickly. I really enjoyed the beautiful pool & cabana area. It’s perfect for grilling out & I took full advantage of the slushee machine. The clubhouse is great with a gym & tanning bed. For my nights in I’d have friends over & play pool. It’s a pretty cool place!

Very rude, condescending, and forgetful staff. Tried to call me back months after I tried to set up a tour of the complex as if I was going to somehow forget the poor customer service I received months prior. The rent is WAY too high to be dealing with their poor levels of professionalism.

I have a friend who lives here that I visit often. From what I can tell its a great spot to start out in Mobile. Its in a very safe area. The apartments are clean and have patios. The space in the apartments is well used. Parking is a little tough sometimes but Ive never had to park more than one building away. Somewhat more expensive than other options but you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend living here.

The staff is super nice and friendly. one of the best communities Ive ever been as a resident. still there are some idiots who park their cars in a handicap spot without having a decal or walking their dogs without a leash, but come on guys, there are idiots everywhere. this has nothing to do with the staff and maintenance team. This is the place to live.

This place has been awesome. Decent location and very nice apartments. The quality of apartments is good and they are well maintained. The staff can be trained better so that they are more knowledgeable but otherwise I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone who would like to move in here.

My boyfriend and I have lived here for almost 3 years and we love it! The one bedroom is perfect for us to share. Anyone complaining about the thin walls just arent meant for apartment life - thats all apartments!They also take great care of the property.

I have lived here since Charleston opened its doors for residents . For the most part it has been a delightful experience. The girls in the office have always tried to keep me happy and when they couldnt it wasnt them but the big whigs who own the property. But the fact that Im still here proves that these office girls are tops . Love the maintenance guys always on the move and working to do needed repairs.

BED BUG INFESTED! Dont move here!My mother returned 3 months after surgery to come home to bedbugs. She contacted the management about it and only to be treated poorly while barely able to walk. They said they would treat it but bugs are still alive. She hasnt been able to return to her apartment in over a month and living at a hotel. She wants out of the lease and they agreed but only to give her 5 days to move out. Her furniture and apartment still have bedbugs and she is unable to return to even get her things. Its absolutely ridiculous they are treating one of their tenants this way! Looks like nice apartments but poorly managed and way over priced!

The apartments where nice on the outside, and OK on the inside. Most certainly over priced for what they were. Walls and ceilings are paper thin, which resulted in multiple noise issues. I complained a few times, but nothing ever happened. Parking was also an issue. I had to rent a garage just so I had parking. Management is aware of the issue and they added a few spots toward the back, but those also filled up quickly.Overall, these are way over priced for what they are. The property and pool area are nice, but there are other complexes that can easily compete with what Charleston has to offer at a much reasonable price.

Do NOT recommend. Terrible living experience. Property manager is very rude and is not concerned with your happiness as an occupant. Blindly accuses residents of not picking up after pets when there is dog mess ALL over the property. Promises made about apartment fixes and not kept by staff. Apartment not 100% ready on move in. Very overpriced for what you get. The only upside to this place is that the maintenance crew guys are very helpful.Previously lived in Cypress Cove and was consistently 10x happier with my home and would recommend them ANY day over this place. Needless to say - will not be renewing lease.

Very disappointed in this apartment complex. First few years were great living there. However, the last couple months prior to move out was terrible and even now 4 months after moving Im still having problems with them. I paid all my final cost when I received that they have did final walk and my bill was posted. I paid it. So months later there was a glitch in there system with took money out account without my permission and I noticed today that they have sent the same amount that was glitched in their system to collection. Still no one has contacted me nor have tried to corrected the issue. I will be contacting the better business bureau and my representative because this is not right for a tenant that was faithful to a complex for years with no complaints or issues. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

***If Youre Not Crazy Now, You Will be When you Leave!!!!***Used to be good. Now they have remodeled with plank flooring (mimics wood) and these apartments were notdesigned for that. If you move here you better get an apartment on the top floor. Even before with carpet I could somewhat hear my neighbors upstairs and next to me due to the walls being paper thin, but now its 100 times worse. Now it sounds like a zoo above me. Even the new neighbor above me stopped me and asked if the noise was bad. I guess he heard me banging on the walls because it was driving me crazy. They woke me up at 2:30 am the other morning and Im sure they heard me banging the walls and cursing at the top of my lungs. They do have a new baby that constantly runs all day and night. The sad thing is I read reviews of others complaining to Management about this and when I asked about it on two separate occasions, two different members of Management lied to me and said they havent received complaints when I know for a fact they have. With these new floors, its not just noise thats bad, its miserable because you can feel the vibration as they walk around. Its nerve racking and when I complained one response I got was well its no different than when it was carpet. Trust me, its different. Typical BS... staff taking it personally and dont want to take a complaint seriously.The next issue I have which, seems very minuscule with the noise issues, is that about 8 or 9 months ago they had the fire alarm company doing some maintenance work. Several of the apartments required them to actually come in and cut hole in the ceiling in the living area. They said that Management had a list of apartments that required this and they would be coming back around to fix it. So, not only was there a hole the size of of an iPad, the contractor was a klutz and dropped his drill, hammer, and other tools a few times, and caused the pipe to leak from the ceiling onto the carpet, which I handled my self. When he dropped the tools he scuffed the walls, and put a few noticeable dings in the sheet rock. He stated that it would be all fixed. Well a couple of weeks go by and I asked staff about it and they acted like they had no idea but they would come out and fix everything. That never happened. A month or so goes by and I ask again. Finally got someone from Maintenance to come by and at least patch the whole in the ceiling so i wouldnt have to look at pipes and worry about a rat or some other creature falling out of the whole while Im watching TV. Well after he patched in the ceiling, thats the last I heard from them regarding this issue. The hole never got smoothed out and never got the ceiling textured. I went to look at a model home with the head manager and I asked about my ceiling stuff and she said she would have someone come out. I asked if I needed to put in a maintenance request so they wouldnt forget but she told me that was not necessary. That never got fixed and I just got tired of asking about it.Ive got nothing negative to say about the maintenance crew. On the few occasions I needed something theyve always been prompt and resolved all maintenance related issues.So basically, Im paying a thousand bucks a month for a two bedroom apartment and Ive got to look at a hole in my ceiling and dings in my walls. But nothing tops the noise issue. It is terrible. Im miserable every day and its driving me nuts.

Beautiful when you see them, then you move in walls and ceilings very very thin, also extremely expensive for what they are.Also any complaints to the office are ignored, I have lived in college dorms that were quieter Will not rate because I feel sorry for who moves in here,don`t say you werent warned bring your earplugs..
