The Ridgedale Y is the perfect place to work out. There are a wide variety of activities, classes and exercise opportunities to indulge in. The equipment is up to date and well maintained. The people are friendly and staff are helpful. I highly recommend it.
Sharon is an Amazing Water Exercise Instructor!! Very personable and she definitely keeps us accountable!!! The Y is clean and the staff is polite! Its an Awesome environment!! Im glad I became a member!!
Friendly staff, and workable schedules to meet as many needs as possible. Always greet and say goodbye. Clean and feel safe there.
I have been using the pool at the Y for about three years now. There were obviously some issues since the Covid outbreak last year, but they have tried to get back on their feet, gradually. I have appreciated the cleanliness of the pool and dressing room areas. I am usually able to swim when I want, even with the new reservation system. The staff has always been friendly. I would recommend the Ridgedale Y.
Great swimming staff. Nice pool for laps. Water temp is usually comfortable for laps. Ive had adult group and private lessons and my kids have also had lessons. I have been impressed with swim teaching staff at all levels. Other areas of facility are well cared for, staff is friendly, trainers are very knowledgeable and strive to help clients meet their specific challenges and goals.
Its always friendly and professional place to socialize and exercise. We are Very Happy with this branch.
Great equipment, lovely staff, fantastic place to work out!
The Ridgedale YMCA is an exceptional, beautiful, and clean facility! Great caring staff with many services for members and visitors alike. I gave utilized the personal trainer program and been so helped and gratefulgor it, as I have several arthritis issues as well as lower back disk and pain issues and the trainer, who is Certified in Physiology, has helped me navigate strength and balance exercises, treadmill use ( with the exciting Virtual Training videos of beautiful places!) and floor work. I have lost 23# and reshaped my flabby back, waist, and legs! Its given me my joy back as well as helped me physically and I am over 65, so thats something! And, bonus, during Covid, when I couldntor didnt feel good about coming in, until fully vaccinated, staff would call, just to see how I was doing? Could they help with Virtual exercises offered by the Y, or advice in any way. That reaching out was very kind and helpful to my spirit. I highly recommend the Ridgedale, Minnetonka YMCA!
New clean weight room with lots of machines and plenty of benches/squat racks
A great place for all ages. They care about your healthy body and mind.
Good equipment; love the running track; locker room facilities are clean and safe
And great staff along with a welcoming enviroment.
Great YMCA, with an amazing Kids stuff staff. I have put all four of my kids in the kidstuff and have never once felt that their safety was in jepordy. There isnt a zero entry pool which is the only downfall. All the adult classes are great however they tend to be full, so get there early! YMCA is large and spread out. YMCA offered me a scholarship and really brought down the price to a reasonable level. This is just an amazing family friendly place.
Feel very safe. Limited people and 12 feet apart. Love the Y.
Great class and clean facilities.
Good place for an indoor walk. Friendly staff. Not overboard on coronavirus restrictions, but not soft either.
I usually go from noon to 3pm Monday through Friday. Pool always has a few lanes open. Clean locker rooms. The machines and free weights are usually wide open so no waiting, Everyone wheres a mask unless doing sets or machines. Im not going anywhere unless it closes.
Rasicst and discrimination goes on if you’re aren’t causation you get looked at as different and treated differently.I get the stare all the time ever time .we are all people we bleed the same blood so respect everyone not simply one race . Be mindful of how you talk to everyone and staring is very rude . Learn if it would make you uncomfortable don’t do it and period it’s rude . And don’t just and assume because of the exterior I can’t do something and etc .I’m 36 years of age it gets old .respect isn’t ageless everyone needs to learn respect and to not judge and assume.
Great facilities and staff. I just wish theyd put the pool lap schedule online by Sunday so I could plan my week.
Nice workout facility. Full complement of equipment, well maintained and clean.
I am such a fan of this YMCA. They renovated about 4 years ago, so everything is clean and up to date. They offer superb fitness classes, including water fitness, which I love. Their jacuzzi is the best in town. It has really strong jets. Ellen teaches great yoga classes. The gym has state-of-the art equipment. It is surrounded by windows, so the room is light and cheerful. Overall, a great facility!!!!!!
Just joined and loving it so far. A wide variety of classes, always easy parking, locker rooms havent felt crowded, and theres a large selection of machines available. The staff and clientele seem friendly and respectful.
The gym is kept really clean and even at their busiest times you can find some space or a machine to go on. The staff is helpful and always around. I love the classes. They have great teachers that really know what their doing and keep you motivated. Theres lots of options for any age or physical need. I would recommend this gym to anyone thats interested
Although we like this YMCA very much, what we canceled our membership the YMCA made us feel almost like we were dirty. While we were members at this YMCA my wife and I paid for my wives 3rd swimming lessons. We paid for these swim lessons in good faith while we were members, over a month ahead of time of the start of the 3rd session of swimming lessons. When I canceled my membership the YMCA representatives told us that everything was fine, that the lessons would continue, no problem because they were paid for, everything continued the same, that my wife could continue with her swimming lessons. A couple of days later there advisor called me and told me that because we had canceled all were membership we were no longer members. I immediately got the feeling that this person was talking down to me, that they were acting like one is a mentally handicapped. We further felt that we were kind of discriminated against because my wife is from South America, and we felt very low, we felt very badd after we were treated in this way. I argue the point that we had paid for the swimming lessons while we were members and that we had actually paid it way ahead of time, but then because were not members we had to pay another $62 if my wife was to continue with her 3rd session of swimming lessons. We werent brand new members, we hadnt a been there for 5 or 10 years, but we werent brand new members to where it was her 1st swimming lessons, this to me felt like bold-faced racism. I felt like the YMCA acted underhandedly, acted coldly and acted in very very bad faith I will not recommend YMCA to anyone and I will not ever join another YMCA!!! Just to sum it all up when I canceled our membership we were assured that everything was fine, that nothing changes, I understand we werent members, but because everything was paid for while we were members everything would be fine, my wife would be able to continue with the 3rd session of swimming lessons. The YMCA really makes a big divide or makes sure that there is a divide between members and just, shall we say the common folk maybe they should make people that are non members put a big N-M on their forehead, that way everybody knows that people are not members when they walk in!!!!
Despite covid-19, I love the Y & am grateful it opened back up!
Its great when children are not over running the place. The gym is constantly fill of young teens, so it makes it hard to enjoy the gym with my young son. The walking/running path is often crowded and the treadmills fill up fast after work. Love the idea of the pool and ping pong tables, but they get flooded when the teen and kids stuff closes.
It’s ok. Management try to make it a lovely place. But there is so much going on, like kids under age in the work out area, sitting and occupying work out equipment while on the phone. This YMCA becomes more welcoming place for minority than for majority of people.
I pretty much grew up working out at this location and by far it is the best YMCA I have been to! If you’re looking for a membership definitely try and talk to Tyler in membership services!!! He’s very professional and caring dude that’ll make sure you’re taken care of.
Great facility, clean and well-organized. Staff and trainers are friendly and knowledgeable but workouts can be a little uncomfortable due to the heat and humidity in the main gym area. Its far and away the hottest gym Ive ever been in, if they ran the A/C a little it would be perfect!
The life guard wouldnt let me take my child who had a life jacket on and who was holding on to me down to the deep end. We do a lap or two to work on distance and endurance which we do all the time. For some reason the rules have changed but I wasnt notified. My boyfriend and I are there at least two times a week.
I love the childcare here, you can drop off your little ones for up to two hours. The body pump and yoga classes are good. Its kind of expensive though. I would expect like $45 per person since its supposed to be community based, but I pay around $65. You can also drop your membership at any time, theres no contract.
My wife and I love the group exercise classes. And I appreciate the Y letting me use the racquetball courts to practice my tennis.
The facility is clean and well kept, and they have a good variety of ways you can work out (lots of classes, nice treadmills, ellipticals and weights, and good sized lap pool). Also, the staff AND the members here have ALWAYS been very friendly and helpful to me here, and I always feel welcomed and like I can talk to about anybody easily while or after I work out. Not the closest one to my house, but still my favorite YMCA.
The basketball gym around 7:00 pm are filled with teens who are always playing full court and some times with there mask off
Incredible 2020 updates with the expansion of the weight room to add more squat racks, benches, deadlift, and an amazing Precor Queenax functional work area. Thank you!
Great gym and friendly Front Desk staff! their student pricing is a good perk too
Very big gym with lot of amenities.friendly staff. Very neatly maintained. Decent pricing and flexible membership plans. Customer satisfaction guaranteed in the first month.
Good Staff. Helpful. A little chaotic dealing with Summer Camp team. But all in all an okay experience.
I love this YMCA. Its huge, clean, bright, staffed very well, great equipment, great class offerings, beautiful pool, day care, programs that benefit the community, easy parking, and a group of regular patrons! FUN!
Its a pretty decent gym, but the weight machines and some of the cardio machines like the NuSteps are old and not the best quality.
The swim class my two year old took was great. Alyssa was very patient and did a great job with us as parents to understand why we were doing the various exercises. Would do another class for sure!
Wow what a place, they have everything you need to stay in shape, just got my membership so Im very excited about working out here :)Swimming pool, sauna, punching bag, all the machines you want, zumba, and it includes a personal trainer for an hour for free, the prices very depending on your income so you might get a discount.
Your typical YMCA. Decent gym, okay track, solid workout equipment.
Great service, clean please to work out
Great new facility with a lot of exercise equipment in a very open and well light workout area. Pool looked nice as well from a distance.
I love the variety of equipment and classes. Zumba is my favorite! I also really like how they have separate saunas in the mens and womens locker rooms. My only suggestion would be for them to get kettle bells.
Clean facility, nice equipment, the staff are helpful and friendly and the kids stuff childcare staff (while I work out) are always welcoming and so kind to my kids.
Great place! Staff is fantastic, classes are fun and their gym area has so many choices.
I love taking classes here when in the cities. Yoga Flow last weekend with Minda was so fabulous.
I really enjoy working out here. The staff is friendly, the new fitness center is wonderful, classes for me are great, and the kids programs are even better. AND I love that their mission is to create healthier kids, families and communities! My only suggestion for improvement is to extend the Kids Stuff programs hours on the weekends.
Impressive, nice layout, locker rooms decent but downtown Minneapolis YMCA should be a model for next upgrade. Ridgedale staffis great and customers get a 5 star rating as well. I left a fairly new Nike sweatshirt that was found by an honest role model and hand delivered to staff. Thank you your integrity is attractive. Overall ridgedale deserves 5
My wife and I love it. Everyone is courteous and helpful. Everything is clean and well organized. Recent remodeling made it even better.
It was clean, spacious, and there are many options of exercised to choose from. But because i am critiquing i can not give it five stars.
Convenient location in mtk. This hottub is the worst! Its like a toy ha! Extremely shallow and impossible to enjoy, also its an odd unapproachable location.
This is a very active Y! They have a large variety of group classes - no need to sign up & included with your monthly membership fee. There are a wide variety of exercise machines, an indoor pool (not great for toddlers - the shallowest part is about 3 ft), an indoor walking/running track, onsite childcare, outdoor playground, personal training & more! My kids love going to the childcare & staff members are caribg & friendly & go above & beyond! My only complaint is parking can be an issue between 9:30-noon.
Its a down to earth place to workout and meet friends. I especially love Ellens yoga class!
This is probably the nicest YMCA Ive been in. Its spacious, 2 locker rooms each, plus a family locker room, and a large workout area.
Always clean with friendly service, but can be busy with of lot children.
Friendly, fair price for monthly dues. Family friendly!
This place is full of degenerate subhumans. They worship the alien god of Gehenna Lucifer over here. Stay away from these cultists!!!
Clean, well kept, and lots of good workout machines.
Nice
Good weight facility friendly staff comfortable atmostsphere
Excellent facility with great variety of classes. The weight area usually doesnt get too busy.
Very Spacious with huge studios for group exercise sessions....Simply the best looking Y facility amongst all the Ys i have been to around twin cities area.
This is one of the best ymcas Ive been to in Minnesota. the basketball court, track, and sauna are pretty legit.
Clean .. Very well used .. Customer friendly..
Swimming instructors are top notch. Facility is very clean and well kept.
Humana Silver Sneakers entree. Yay! Getting my X at the Y. Exercise!
Nice place. Spacious. Good locker room
Sometimes Jucuzzi has a lot of dirt collected over foam which grosses me out.Otherwise a nice place to attend group classes and wortkout.
Great accessibility. Great childcare services.
Just positive and pleasant. Love going here!
Went in to check on membership for the family....membership rep on the phone, off the phone, on the phone again, too busy to take new members I guess. I hope shes paid on commission. Asked to talk to manager, manager apologized but didnt offer to do anything to make it right. I asked if he could show me around and give me pricing. All he said was I can get you to sales girl ( the one who didnt have time for me in the first place). If this is how prospective members are treated I dont want to be a member.
Super friendly. Super facility. Clean. Great place for seniors, families.
Large facility with allot of equipment. Never had to wait for an elliptical. Plenty of free weights. All the common fitness necessities.
Great place to work out
Really a great YMCA super friendly staff always had a nice experience here
Senior program perfect
Great place for staying active at winter in MN
It is a great place and it is quite and easy to get a work out in
Excellent facilities and friendly staff.
Well run, good instructors
Love it. Busy but very clean
Pool isnt huge compared to other Ys but does have a diving board which is a major plus for the older kids! Also fun area with free pool tables, foosball, and table tennis. I like that there is a second floor hall with seating overlooking the pool so I can keep an eye on my older son when he swims without being in the hot, chlorine filled pool area. Locker rooms are all very nice- the 18 plus ladies has a lounge area with tv-- very clean and peaceful-- the family locker room is nicer then other ys I have been to also. No nursing room -- which seems pretty consistent with other ys. I tried going into the 18 plus locker room to nurse my 3 month old as it was more private and comfortable then other places I found and felt like I got some dirty looks for being in there with him.
Clean locker room. Clean facilities. Good workout.
Amazing people and facility.
They need more training in diversity.. civil rights.
AT THE YMCA ITS FUN TO STAY
Great place for people with kids and toddlers. Great selection of new and latest cardio equipment with onsite child care while you exercise.
I am 69. Is it just me or is there something wrong with GROWN, ADULT MEN who have no inhibitions about coming into the sauna in the NUDE and sitting NAKED on the damn benches in there. I think its DISGUSTING. Cant you make these PIGS put a towel around something most of us DO NOT WANT TO SEE! I will never come there again. They are PIGS. WHO wants to sit on a bench where someone had there bare and filthy buttocks and genitils resting. Outrageous.
Big modern . Sauna by pool . Towel service
Wonderfully helpful staff and great amenities.
Friendly staff, clean facility, variety of classes and convenient 🏅
Huge facility! Ample space and well equipped.
Love the atmosphere, always able to get a great workout!
Went here during a visit to the cities and really liked it. Very big building and very spacious weight lifting and cardio room - mainly into lifting. Friendly and welcoming staff; well kept environment and well lit with natural lighting with big windows in the weight/cardio area. Only thing, I was disappointed with there limited free weight area; could use more squat racks and bench-presses. But they have a lot of assisted weight machines and up-to-date cardio machines. Will definitely come here again.
