Why isn’t 0 an option for a rating?Let’s just keep it short and simple.DON’T.1. He is it that I’m reading through these reviews and I agree to ALL of them? How is it that this property company is nothing but INDENIAL & DEFENSIVE?They don’t follow their own “lease” so be prepared to be threatened to be evicted - from a “landlord” who isn’t even following the law themselves.Poor Communication? LIVE HEREPoor Maintenance Repair? LIVE HEREWant to get put out with your children because you demand a healthy, clean environment THAT you pay for? LIVE HEREUnprofessional? Live here!!!!Pramol or whatever that “landlord”s name is, NEEDS TO GO.I refused to sign a lease until the unit was cleared for mice & other rodents. I mean everything was horrible. Pluming, mold, rodent infestation, you name it our unit had it.The landlord new I was staying there (my family had lived there for years prior too. NEVER LATE ON RENT. NO DISTURBANCES. NO POLICE CALLS. NOTHING)It was up until I chose to call the health department because the maintenance requests weren’t being fufilled and my sons stuff was getting eaten by rodents. I had no other choice. After that, the landlord decides to “evict me” through a 3rd party because I called the health dept, she got in trouble, and we were “violating our lease terms” by me being there without signing a lease.LOL. DO THESE PEOPLE KNOW THE MN TENANT LAWS? DO THEY EVEN KNOW THEIR OWN?LANDLORD WANTED ME GONE BECAUSE I DEMANDED A CLEAN SAFE ENVIRONMENT AND SHE GOT IN TROUBLE FOR IT.Long story short? Save your time. Save your money. This management company isn’t worth it. They don’t care. Simple.I’m not even going to get into the neighbors, what goes on, and the stuff we see here. Just sad. Me and my son get “evicted” for no reason, while others sit here and are loud, disruptive, and violating their lease day in and out.Truly, I’m happy to leave. This company needs to be shut down or evaluated, straight disgusting behavior.
Worst place I have ever rented from.Although I had some pleasant encounters (It was not ALL bad. I had great neighbors!), I was often either 1) Not responded to in a timely manner or 2) Told to fix things myself.Other problems:- During my first visit, I was promised my unit would be freshly painted upon move in. It was not. When I asked on move-in day, I was bluntly told Why? You think it needs it? Yes - it did need it. It was very obvious where the last person had hung photos because of the dirt/dust outlines on the wall. But, they never did come back and paint.- Upon move-out, it seems that my move-in check list was not even considered.Would not recommend to anyone unless you want your money taken.
We worked with Josh in finding our new place to live and are blown away with how helpful he is, answering our dozens of questions about the property, speedy at answering messages, and eager to update the property we moved into. They really do treat their tenants with care.Really appreciate renting from this company! Would recommend them to a friend.
I had an excellent experience working with Candace from Urban Enterprises for the last 10 years!Candace & her team managed my condo as a rental unit from 2006 - 2016. I live in CA and the property is in MN so I was very disconnected, having to rely solely on Candaces management and communication. Also, my property was quite old and had many leaks and random breakdowns over the years, from things as mild as a faucet dripping to as serious as the boiler shutting down in the middle of winter.Urban Enterprises was truly incredible throughout. They stayed on top of issues and got things handled immediately, from the minor to the major. Communication was clear and prompt and I felt very involved in the process, but felt that ultimately it was being handled. We also went through several tenants over the last 10 years and Candace always had my unit rented - we never went a month without a renter. Pretty fantastic. When I finally sold the unit last month, Candace communicated regularly with my realtor and tenants and everything went as smoothly as you could imagine. If you have a home or condo you need managed in Minneapolis, look no further. Candace and her team are fantastic and will help you go to bed at night knowing that your property is well taken care of!
If only I could give 0 stars. STAY AWAY! Stephen Bartley is a joke. The whole company is a joke. We rented a house for 3 and a half years. Cleaned and patched the walls before we left. Patch work was actually done by someone who renovate homes. They stated it was done incorrectly and that the whole house had to be painted. It was done correctly and the house should have been painted anyways. They charged us 750 bucks for something they should have done. Only a slumlord wouldnt paint all the rooms of a rental property after 42 months of use and not get it ready for the next tenant. I also requested a repair the last month of living in this home and it was never fixed. So we couldnt even use the second bathroom toilet. We signed with a different management company with our lease and the company was switched mid lease. If you dont want to get screwed like we did, AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!! I also requested a walk through prior to leaving, since I was moving to Texas from Minneapolis, and they ignored our plea. We wanted to make sure we got as much of our deposit back as possible. Now I know why. If you rent a house from this company make sure you request lube and get it in the lease.
One of the best companies I have had the pleasure of being a tenant my experience with Urban Enterprises was remarkable. All it took was a call and maintenance repairs were done with in 24 hrs by extremely professional and knowledgeable vendors. Can’t say enough of the staff and Candace Cobb for always putting tenant needs first and going the extra mile on safety...I always feel great about referring Urban Enterprises to the people I know and care about.Outstanding company 🙌🏽
I contacted Urban Enterprises one year ago to find a good renter for my condominium and manage the property because I took a job a moved to California. Urban Rent found a wonderful renter for my unit. When questions or issues come up they are on top of it. I dont have to worry about my property from hundreds of miles away. My renter has taken good care of my property (I stopped over to check on it a couple of months ago) and they signed another lease! Hire Urban Enterprises to handle all of our rental needs. They are a smaller business that will give your property the attention it deserves. They are really nice people and are knowledgeable.
Always had excellent customer service with Tony! Unlike other rental companies who only want money and don’t answer maintenance calls! THANKS TONY! I really wish the landlord didn’t switch to MSP Home rental. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM! Keep up the excellent work at Urban Enterprises!
I would definitely recommend working with Candace Cobb at Urban Enterprises. When I was looking for a place to rent Id just come out of divorce and was struggling financially (credit) and she was so helpful and understanding.I could always count on Candace for quick responses to rental questions/concerns. Even 2 plus years after being under rental unit with Urban, I had to reach out to Candace for some tax information and she helped me right away! Very responsive and again, SO helpful. Thank you Candace for being a great agent, I know if I ever return to MN Ill be reaching out to you in looks for an apartment!!Sincerely,Previous and much appreciated renterNikki
Working with Urban Enterprises has been the most pleasant experience of my life. The rent is decent and every maintenance request of mine is solved quickly. Josh Limberg, the property manager, is very attentive and understanding of my hard situation. Highly recommend this company for anyone who needs to rent or a property manager.
Ive had a great experience working with Tony Welman. Hes very reliable, communicative, and trustworthy. I really appreciated that I could always reach him easily, and that he would listen well to whatever needed attention. Hes very mature and diplomatic, and I was impressed at his ability to mediate a couple of issues between my housemate and me.Ive had landlords who are a little more supportive in terms of helping out with maintenance issues--there was a slight tendency to quote a list of legal reasons as to why Urban Enterprises isnt responsible for such-and-such. Fair enough, but its nice to feel like were all in this together. But overall its been a pleasant experience. I would work with him again.
I had a great four years with Urban Enterprises - communication was clear and prompt, maintenance requests were attended to, and there was flexibility with roommate changes. Candace Cobb was a wonderful property manager! Highly recommended.
Urban Enterprises is a great company filled with capable and professional staff. The property managers strive to maintain excellent relationships between their owners and tenants. They provide great service for all property management needs including quick and thorough responses to maintenance concerns.
Marcus Paden is a wonderful agent. He is very understanding and they have handled any issues I had very promptly. I Definately give them 5 stars.
Urban Rent have managed our 4-Plex for nearly 8 years and they have looked after us very well. We dont live locally, so its great to know that both Eric and Candace have our best interests in mind at all times, look for the best tenants, and look for the best rental returns in all market conditions. I highly recommend Urban Enterprises.
We rented from Urban Enterprises for 2 years and had no trouble at all with them. Actually, theyve been the best landlords weve had after a string of bad ones. For context, we rented an apartment in a 4 plex with each unit owned by a different person, so Urban Enterprises was our property manager. Any maintenance requests were responded to quickly (especially when the boilers all needed to be replaced and our fridge died in the same week!)We just moved out (although we probably would have stayed had the owner of our unit not decided to sell it!) and our deposit was returned in full very promptly, including our pet deposit.I dont know if things are handled differently if the company owns the property, but our experience with them was great and I would rent again from them!
Worst rental experience of my life! Infested with cockroaches and mice, moldy smell in stairwell below a damaged roof, the keys they gave us didnt even match the locks and it took them an entire month and a lot of pestering before they changed the locks. But my favorite part was how all winter long our third floor apartment was 80+ degrees, I repeatedly asked them to do something about it and the excuse I got was, we dont know where the thermostat is. Seriously, you manage this property and you dont know where the thermostat is! Turns out the first floor residents had control of the thermostat and they had to crank it up in order for them to stay warm. Its hard to say how much of the fault should be put onto the property owner, but either way in that house the renters got the short end of the stick.
Worst landlords ever. Theyll only pay attention to you if youre trying to send rent money. Wony honor any maintenance requests, wont follow through on any promises made at the beginning of your lease. It took them two months just to return some tax paperwork we needed. It all starts optimistic, they seem nice, but once theyve got your signature on a lease, all that matters is that they collect on rent. Avoid at all cost.My worst disappointment as that Googles minimum is one star, I would give zero stars if possible.
As far as Im concerned this place is a scam. Dont be fooled by their commercial properties if you are in a residential complex. Where does my 290$ go every month? I could not tell you. And neither could they, go figure. Very unprofessional, and have not seen them once in the 2 years they have been my property managers. Not impressed.
They are very horrible, josh is just money hungry he doesn’t respond back to any of you messages unless your talking about money the whole time I was staying in my unit they never came to fix a damn thing !! Steve is very rude when I was on the phone talking to him about what was going on he hung up in my face. Very rude and disrespectful and I wouldn’t recommend this leasing company or apartments to anyone they are unprofessional
Extremely unprofessional. We had bedroom walls “painted”, but they were left unfinished, so we asked for them to finish the work. We waited about 3 weeks for them to come back and when they did, they didn’t do the work properly. Throughout those three weeks we called the property manger and texted himmultiple times asking when they would come to finish up and he would say “tomorrow” or change the date but no one ever came. This isn’t the only time our complainants have been ignored. We had mold growing nothing was done until we sent a doctors note asking them to fix the issue because it was dangerous. When we confronted his “partner” about the unprofessionalism and lack of communication he said we were not welcome to speak to him, and to told us to go away. Extremely upset, and disgusted by the way we were treated.
Got along with management up until we moved out of the dump leaking sealing and mold the whole time we lived there nothing ever got updated or properly fixed wasnt fair between tenants then charged me for the moldy walls and paint only gave me a portion of my deposit back!!!! what a messed up thing to do!!!!!
Dont rent from these guys, especially with a land lord name Andy Dick, unless you like to be miserable. We rented a place near Hamline University. They told us the place doesnt have mice, yet mice are everywhere. It took him over two months and still hasnt fixed water leaked and damaged wall in downstairs, we decided to move away. Doesnt cut grass or weed that are as tall as three feet. I had to escalate that wed call the city if it didnt get taken care of. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone I know.
Please be aware that you will be losing a major chunk of your security deposit when you move out. Though the walls had normal wear and tear and was noted in the move out checklist - they charged me for the painting. They had some logic of splitting the overall charges more to the tenant and less to the owner. Was not provided a split up but one line item with a description and a total cost.
I have had the most unpleasant experince here I have had anywhere else. I have lived in the house almost a year and half. The neighbors that are loud all hours of the day liter in there own yard have broke the front and back gate have the nasty garbage that creates flies and maggots. Do laundry in the middle of the night that you can here. All maintance I have had is half ass fixed/done there has been ants and mice here. The lights in one of the bedrooms flickers from the upstairs peoples noise breaking the lightbulbs and making the popcorn ceiling fall. My car has been broken into the garage has been broken into the garage has had damage on the side where it has done over 2grand worth of damage to my car. They didnt do nothing about it. The bathroom had water damage from upstairs took over 2 weeks to fix and even longer for them to come and actually start fixing it...there is SEVERAL other things I could say but Im sure you get it!
DO NOT rent from these people. I have had nothing but horrible service. It started from the beginning when James Kline toured us around the townhome, there was some damage and was told that he would get that fixed. It has been over a year and nothing has been fixed. Every time I had a problem, I would get no return calls from the landlord, Candace. I took me forever to get a hold of them because their phone lines werent even working --due to my AC that wasnt working. It was one of the hot, HOT summer days, I called right away early in the morning when I found out, probably around 7-8AM. FINALLY, when I was able get a confirmation of when the AC guys would come and fix it (she said she would call my husband to confirm as well and NEVER DID) they called me around 4:30PM and stated that they would not be able to come because he was too far out and stated you shouldve called earlier then I wouldve been able to come I was furious and said Im not stupid, my AC is out, all my food is bad, my daughter has to stay over at her grandmas because its too hot here, its like 90 degrees out AND I DID CALL EARLY IN THE MORNING and yeah--that shut him up. I am so, so so fed up with Urban Enterprises. Never in my life, have I had this much trouble just trying to get good service and communication.
WORSE PROPERTY MANAGMENT you can pick. I tried these folks for 2 months, they cant manage properties nor get their accounting straight. They also work with Vlado Construction Company and do kickbacks to this construction company through what a suggested general cleaning. They told me it would be a Mexican couple who wanted to do a general cleaning and that they suggest a general cleaning before you rent your place out, but when I got the invoice, the cleaning was billed from Vlado Construction company-Sasha, Vlados son. Dishonesty is the biggest alert to me when a company operates this way. Steve Bartley was the worse property manager we have worked with and he was less than pleasant to work with in smoothing communication out between defective work of Vlado Construction Co. I would not recommend doing any business with this company.
Very unprofessional business, you have to be very persistent with this company if you want things done. I would NOT recommend this company to any one.
No where is perfect this place is fine
Dont I repeat dont rent from them they are terrible landlords they dont fix nothing they over charge you for everything they always coming up with something that you have to pay for they never check on they renters they dont fix nothing.
