Overall a decent place to live IF absolutely nothing goes wrong.... If you tour here I would recommend asking about the water damage on the 4th and 5th floor to ensure you dont get a damaged apartment. The turnover of staff members is extremely fast; sometimes the staff members were helpful but most of the time the front desk would tell you what you wanted to hear then proceed to NOT resolve your problems. I had to request to talk to the property manager before any real action was taken to replace our microwave (due to the delay they did take $20 off our monthly rent so that was kinda something). Our apartment suffered water damage due to a careless upstairs neighbor the week before Easter. I am writing this review in August(2021) and the water damaged has still not been repaired (no drywall on the kitchen ceiling, no kitchen lights, no kitchen floor). WiFi was reliable, the view was great, and you cant beat the location. However, the price is not worth the stress this apartment has caused me. **The picture with the green tape is our kitchen floor and the other is the exposed kitchen ceiling (the light seen is one we had to provide ourselves).9/13/2021 UPDATEThe management staff saw the above review and decided to refund my roommates and I each $500. Better late than never I suppose
Decent place... I lived in a studio at Sydney Hall for about nine months in 2020-2021. The unit itself was pretty nice, but there were many issues with the building and community spaces that were never addressed, or didnt make sense. Considering what I was paying to live there, these should have been dealt with:A) There was a locked fenced in area to store bikes in the underground garage, but the lock was broken, and there were no cameras pointing at this area. My bike was stolen, and there was nothing that could be done for me (I had a U lock).B) There was a weight room, but the only machine in the room was broken the entire time I lived thereC) There was a phone number for the front desk that typically wasnt answered during business hoursD) No designated area for temporary parking with a U-Haul during move in... I had to park in a ramp two blocks down the street and wheel my belongings over one cart at a time
Worst apartment experience so far. Washing machine broke, faucet broke, dishwasher broke, mold growing in shower after we cleaned it 3 times, mold growing on the windowsill. Worst of all I subleased my apartment for 3 months and for the first month my sublessor moved in I was charged their rent. When I asked for it to be taken off I got a late fee even though it wasnt mine to pay. I tried to email 2-3 times but didnt get a response so my girlfriend called them asking and they responded in a very rude manner basically telling us that they are glad we arent living there next year. Would NOT recommend to anyone. They are also saying if I do not pay the late free then they will add another late fee which seems totally unfair.
Unresolved and Widespread Cockroach Issues -- Would not recommend living here.
Sydney Hall has a great location in Dinkytown but that is about the extent to the appeal of the apartment. My three roommates and I each had our leasing contracts and security deposit checks lost twice before moving in, having to submit multiple checks each. The people at the leasing office seem to care little about the people living in the apartment, as mail and packages get lost regularly. When we moved in, we recorded damages that were already present in our unit, but they still charged us for those same damages at the end of the lease. It looks like East Bank Communities has no intention of ever fixing damages, and charge people as the years go on. There are certainly better places to live on campus for similar or lower prices than Sydney Hall.
This is a terrible place to live. All they care about is getting money from you, and will charge you with unnecessary move out fees even if you clean the place perfectly. The only good thing about sydney hall is the maintenance staff. They are out to scam people and get your money.... do not live here. Also mine and my roommates bedrooms had no windows even though on the tour they show you an apartment with multiple windows. Wifi almost never worked in my apartment as well.
I can’t explain how excited I am to be moving out of here. I could’ve saved so much money and grief if I had lived somewhere else. Management doesn’t care about you, they care about the money in your pockets. Maintenance has entered my apartment while I’m either sleeping or showering. Over the past year my kitchen sink overflowed and flooded my entire kitchen while my roommate and I were on vacation, my ice machine hasn’t worked this whole year despite reporting it twice, and many other things I could I write a book about. It’s all fun and games until your lease is up and you see the move- out checklist. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
This building is a visual train wreck; they dont keep anything clean. The hallways constantly smell, and the floors in the hallway are always a mess. There has been a huge puddle of broken glass/red wine stained on the floor in front of the 6th floor elevator and it has been sitting there for almost a WEEK. Nobody has bothered to even blink an eye at it. I honestly am embarrassed when people come over to my apartment and they have to walk through the lobby and hallways because they are so trashed all the time. I dont think management walks the building to see the state of things.
Renter Beware! My son and his roommate were shown a model of the apartment they would be living in. The actual unit looked nothing like the model! The bedrooms have no windows, my sons room (much smaller than his roommates) is nothing more than a walk in closet, the breakfast bar is non-existent and the furniture has been completed trashed (chairs have nails coming up through the bottom, wicker is badly broken, couch has dinner plate sized holes in it), walls are thin. The only advantage to this apartment is its location to campus -- just steps away from the East Bank. But hardly worth all of the downsides!
I dont even know where to begin. East Bank Communities is a disorganized, unprofessional mess. Its almost impossible to get answers or any accountability from management, because there is such a high turnover rate with staff you rarely can ever talk to the same person to get an issue solved.
I chose Sydney Hall because of its excellent location and price, which I continue to think are worthwhile and a bonus. However, I have been disappointed to see that predominantly negative reviews online are true. I have had maintenance (which is generally very responsive and helpful) let themselves into the apartment when I did not come to the door because I was changing. My check was lost by management, and the resulting $35 late rent charge is still on my account three months later despite my repeated requests to remove it. Packages are left on the floor for anyone to steal because there is rarely if ever someone behind the desk to take them. We were told we would be sent emails when packages arrived, but none are ever sent. Managements idea of an official declaration of whether or not residents were resigning was taping three pieces of paper to a wall and asking us to sign them. I was very hopeful that the new management was going to turn things around, but I am disappointed by the lack of a change I have seen thus far. I am very excited to move out of Sydney. The convenience of the location is second-to-none, but it is in no way worth the hassle of dealing with poor management.
I have lived at Sydney Hall for almost 3 years and I really like it. The appliances are up to date and I love having laundry in my unit. My studio has an unbeatable view and the large window makes the space feel bigger. Maintenance is prompt and office staff is friendly. The best part is the underground heated garage-especially in the winter! I can walk to many stores and restaurants and there is always something interesting going on in Dinkytown.
I would definitely not recommend this apartment for university students. The floorplan is nothing like the one we were shown, the bedrooms have no windows. We were told we would be able to move in at least a couple of days early to get settled and instead, they had everyone in the building move in within a six hour window on September 1. It certainly doesn’t bode well for the year.
I moved to Sydney Hall after living at the Radius for 2 years. I truly enjoyed living at the Radius, had overall good management, very clean hallways/lounge areas, and nice amenities and fitness room. Once the University bought Radius, I was forced to move out as rent prices for my room had absolutely skyrocketed. Sydney Hall seemed pretty nice upon move in, and although rent prices were more expensive than what I had at Radius, it was cheaper than if I had stayed at Radius another year.To be quite honest, the only nice thing about living at Sydney was its proximity to campus. Other than that, most everything was not great. My roommates and I always had issues with the A/C breaking. While maintenance was friendly, they would fix our A/C and then it would somehow break a few days later. There was also a very unsightly, poorly done repair on our bathroom ceiling that maintenance offered to fix after we had brought it up, but said it would take a week or two to fix and we would have to move everything out of our bathroom during that time. The furniture in our apartment also seemed dirty and had stains upon move in that wouldnt come out. Also, the fitness center is very awkward and has very little room for more than 3 people to be in there comfortably at once. While these werent the worst of my issues, the most frustrating thing for me involved the money I was refunded from my security deposit check, which I still have not received from my August 2018 move out. I had many emails exchanged between myself and the property manager at the time, Beth, about her doing an inspection for myself and my roommate who I shared a room with. My other two roommates were transferring rooms, so they were staying in the apartment longer than we were, and we wanted to make sure that we were all checked out/good to go and would receive out security deposits back fully.Beth had checked out our room and stated that everything looked good and that there wouldnt be any charges for me or my roommate. For the common areas, she stated that anything still remaining from my other two roommates would not be taken into account, she would just look at our areas. Basically when it came down to it, she stated that myself and my roommate were good and that we would not get any charges.Flash forward a few weeks, and I get an email stating that I am only receiving $124.89 back from my $250 security deposit. When I tried calling and emailing, I wasnt able to get in touch with Beth and was told that I would have to go through some sort of appeal/dispute process, and with working full-time and having no more energy for this horrible apartment, I just accepted it. Meanwhile, I am STILL waiting for my security deposit check from the new manager, even after countless emails and phone calls. She stated it would be sent out about a month ago, but here we are.Overall I can say this: dont live here. It is not worth the price and the anger/stress. Also, from now on I will be requesting something signed in writing stating how much I will be refunded for my security deposit!
Lived here just for a summer, but it was a positive experience. Management in the building was on top of things, helpful. Location was great. Really nothing negative at all in my time there.
Great location, staff is great they let you know immediately if you have a package. Maintence comes almost immediatley if an issue arises and are super friendly. They also seem to keep the building very clean. The only con so far is that they promoted that the rooms all have walk in closets when I signed my lease which is inaccurate.
After our first year at Sydney Hall we all decided to renew our lease which can speak for itself. Specifically the location is great with a couple minute walk to the heart of campus and also on the edge of dinky for all our needs. The apartment rooms are great with some killer views (for some) and reasonably priced. Any issues were taken care off quickly and the management was friendly and helpful. Would easily recommend.
ONE star is too high for Sydney Hall! Please go elsewhere for student housing. My daughter is still waiting for her security deposit back and getting the run around by management.....she moved out in August of 2018. The refund is due...and was assured a refund would be sent in December with the previous property manager and now the new Manager Shelley has yet to refund her money and that was over a month ago.Very dishonest management & time for small claims court!Ridiculous that this is being pulled on students who pay rent in good faith!
You paid a ton for the rent but the management is awful. The manager comes and goes, so you have no one to take care of the general issues. Always short staffed, so you have to wait WEEKS to have someone fix anything you need. Please do not move into this building if you have a better option. I am moving out as soon as my lease ends.
It looked very nice and clean and competitively priced with similar buildings. I would be a good 4.5 stars, but my only concern is that the bedrooms in the 2 bedroom units on the second floor had no windows or doors that go to the outside. Im pretty sure thats against code and to be honest it would be terrifying to wake up to a fire from your door, youd be trapped. Im curious how this passes code... (will change rating if this is addressed)
I was amazed when I entered my apartment for the first time. The quality of the rooms is worth the price. The staff are so friendly and they host some events every now and then. The location is almost on campus, and it takes me four minutes to go from my bedroom to the physics labs at Williamson Hall. The Dinkytown area is also full of restaurants and interesting places to explore.I would definitely recommend future gophers to check this place out.
Great experience getting lease agreement signed
During my residence at Sydney Hall, I thought that it was a nice place to live. However, after move out, my roommate and I were hit with a large sum of move out charges. We received only $27 back of our $250 security deposit. My roommate and I ALWAYS kept our unit very clean and ALWAYS immediately notified management when there was an issue that arose. We lived in the smallest square footage 2 bed 1 bath unit. We paid $220 for an additional cleaning service provided by Sydney Hall and were then EACH charged $80 for extra cleaning charges. Additionally, we were EACH charged $145 for painting our small apartment even though only minimal normal wear and tear occurred. This has obviously deeply upset my roommate and I, so I emailed Sydney Hall to provide written documentation of my desire to contest move out charges on August 29th (10 days ago) and have still yet to hear anything from them. I have either called or emailed again and again every single day since then and, again, have still not heard anything from them not even an acknowledgement that they received my email. Every time I call, the manager, Beth, is conveniently gone, sick, or unavailable to take my call. My roommate, and especially I, are extremely frustrated with this situation and lack of professionalism and respect.
See reviews for East Bank Communities, the parent company.Update - On the 1st of August, they prorated my parking, and then decided to change their mind on the 2nd of August, and left me an eviction notice for the balance due.Avoid any properties managed by East Bank Communities. Theyre nice buildings in good locations, however the property management is absolutely appalling. At my current building, exterior doors are constantly broken, with the door handle unattached, or locking mechanism not working. Garage door has shut on top of my vehicle, and the elevators routinely malfunction (state inspection certificates are expired). The list goes on and on. Recently, they didnt give reasonable notice before entering my apartment unit. Also, my roommate transferred her lease, and East Bank Communities refuses to furnish the unit properly, despite the fact they advertise as Fully Furnished.Avoid East Bank Communities. If you choose to lease with them, read all binding documents carefully, and be prepared for the management.Update: another missing door handle. How many times does this need to happen before it gets fixed properly? Ive never seen anybody with problems keeping a door handle attached.I called them right after the garage door shut on top of my vehicle, and they refused to pay the cost for residents to park elsewhere while repairs were made. The bed was provided after I had a discussion with the leasing manager about what good customer service means.
Ive lived here for the past year and the only thing good about this apartment complex is its proximity to campus and other spots in Dinkytown. Its totally not worth what you pay for; the rent is too high for the actual size of the apartments. No one ever answers the phones and management gives usually vague answers about subleasing. They just dont seem to care about the place they run to be honest. I issued a work order to repaint a couple spots on the bedroom walls and they told me I have to pay for it and the only size the paint comes in that they use is 5 gallons. Also there are locks on the bedroom doors but the doors only lock from the inside and so I asked to have the bedroom key. They told me I have to pay for my own key, a spare key for them, and for them to install it. Im moving out asap once my lease is up. Dont waste your time and money here.
Tons of hidden fees-- they want to take advantage of you! Its a normal place to live as far as comfort of the actual building, but it ended up being far more expensive than we were told and they were not accommodating at all. Be careful, they are trying to get your money!
Manager does not answer voicemail - very difficult to receive help when water is dripping from apartment. Property damage - was told, in the fine print of the lease, you are responsible. We paid $912.00 for the month of August, but told to move out by the 23rd. When I asked for reimbursement for the final week, I was told it was in the fine print. I was also told that we should have been told that when we signed the lease. That is a joke. No one was at the desk to answer questions, much less give information. The quote we receive for any question is You have to ask the manager. The manager, Tara, never answers her voicemail or will address any concerns. Meanwhile, the kids on duty apologize.DO NOT SIGN A LEASE WITH THESE PEOPLE!
Lived here for one year, I thought the spaces were very cheaply made. Water would leak through the window during the spring. The walls arent even drywall, its like painted cardboard and was very weak. The walls in the hallway were cracked and the paint was all smudged and lines between colors were not even clean. Sometimes the trash chute room smelled up the entire hallway. The main front door handle breaks all the time.Paid way too much for a space shared with 3 other people. They didnt even prorate the last months rent in which I paid full rent for 16 days.If you want study spaces outside of your actual apartment there are only two small study spaces (with bad wifi) in the entire place. So they are usually taken or pretty dirty. The only good thing about this place is its proximity to campus, bus stops, window views, and good restaurants.
Do not do business with east bank communities! They will tell you that you have the best deal then roll out better deals the next month. You can’t trust people that do business like that. On top of that, the units are disgusting, management is bad, and they will blame you for a lot of things. I highly recommend signing with another company. Avoid east bank communities at all cost!Update 05/6/2018.The only reason I signed is because I was told by leasing office that it would be the best rate and it would only go up, and I have proof of that!I’ve been calling on a regular basis to get prices of units to make sure and it really pisses me off that the units have lower rates with better specials even though you told me that it would not go down during the time I signed.
This is definitely one of the worst student apartment choices you can make around the U of M. The rooms look modern and nice, but everything is clearly built as cheaply as possible. Its also very expensive compared to similar apartments. The only reason we chose this place is because we did 2 people per bedroom to cut costs. This was a mistake. Some of my biggest complaints:Rude, dismissive staff that are rarely even around to answer questions, address problems, or even answer the phone. I had a very hard time picking up packages while I was working full time during the summer since the desk is only staffed 9am-6pm. They claim you can make arrangements to get your packages outside of that time but they ignore your emails, and then complain when you cant get your package within 48 hours. Ive also seen numerous packages sitting outside the locked door or on a desk in the lobby, unattended and just waiting to be stolen. They sent out an email once saying theres nothing they can do about it. How about staff someone in the lobby like literally every other apartment?Garage doors, hot water, the front door, and the elevator (!) all broke several times during the past year and maintenance was slow to fix it, despite what the owner had claimed in responses to similar reviews here. Theyd rather argue with their residents about complaints than do anything to help them (see the owners replies to other reviews). Expect the elevator to break down every month or so, and dont be surprised if you get stuck inside every once in a while. All shared spaces (hallways, lobbies, etc.) are frequently left a complete mess for weeks. Stained carpets, trash in the elevator, all ignored by the building staff. The internet situation is a mess. Everyone has to bring their own router, so theres dozens of interfering signals and the result is spotty and extremely slow WiFi.Moving in and out is a nightmare because its always impossible to find a moving cart. Unlike most places that have tenants give their IDs to use a cart, its just complete cart anarchy. People end up hoarding them in their rooms and management does nothing to handle it.My roommates and I were charged about $500 in cleaning and repairs upon move out, even though we left the place in excellent condition (with photo evidence). Im still waiting for them to respond to my request for a better explanation. If you move in here, take pictures of EVERYTHING on move-in and move-out so you can avoid getting scammed.Stay away from East Bank Communities.
I moved in as a Sub-leaser and it was a great process. All the manager worked with me to get me moved in and settled with parking and when to pay my first rent. I love living here because not only is it close to everything in Dinkytown and the U, but all the people in the building are nice, the building is kept nice and clean, if I had a maintenance problem they always fixed it in a timely manner, and the security of the building is great.
Really great staff, and super nice location
Horrible amenities, the wifi is super slow, and management sucks. You cant even order stuff online because there arent any places for the delivery person to drop it off. Just live at the Marshall. Has all the same price and location just way better everything like a computer lab and yards and outdoor grills for the same monthly rate.
DO NOT LEASE AT SYDNEY HALL. Management is incredibly careless, unprofessional, and uncommunicative. Staff turnover is continuous and it is impossible to have a continuous dialogue/relationship with those at the leasing office. Dena Costello, the corporate manager, is horribly uncommunicative and does not respect the tenants in the apartment. I had maintenance and communication issues all year long and my apartment ended up flooding towards the end of my lease. It is has been 10 days since the food and little has happened to fix it. Dena offered a $250 rent credit for my issues which is extremely small for the many problems I have had during my time here. Avoid this place like the plague!
I really hope that the management is taught how to act and speak properly. They are the rudest management I have ever met. You will not even be able to talk with them. One time, I was out of the country. Without any emails or notifications, my friend (who also lived in Sydney Hall) told me that there is a notification (written on the wall of the elevator) that told us to move out all cars from to garage for cleaning or the car will get towed with the owner expense. That is the only notification, no email, no phone, nothing else. When I came back from my vacation, I asked them that they should have at least sent an email to me regarding this issue. Their answer? We are allowed to just put notification on the elevator door to notify our tenants. It is your own fault not to tell us that you are going to leave the country. Really guys? Im really wondering how can you guys are able to become a manager. When Sydney Hall was managed by Doran, this never happens. I would say you should really reconsider your decision if you are going to live in this apartment. Rude management, unreasonable price, bad outside noise isolation, and your car will likely get towed without your knowledge.BTW, our current two persons two bedrooms apartment is going to be a four persons two bedrooms apartment in order to milk more money (We paid $900 per person = $1800 total and when it becomes four persons, it will be roughly $600 per person = $2400). I do not see how four people will fit into the apartment.
I was very dissatisfied with my experience living at Sydney Hall. As a naive first-time renter, I feel that I was taken advantage of by the rental company. I paid hidden fees that I was not aware of before I signed my lease. Rooms are very much on the small side (except for the model room, of course).Do not live here if you think there is a possibility that you will need to sublet your room.
Great company with a staff that is very helpful.
No one answers the phone ever. I’ve called so many times and left messages and they don’t actually call you back to answer your valid questions. That’s not surprising because the complex itself looks like it was designed to cut corners and make the ac bill ac bill go through the roof. The doors literally don’t end so you hear absolutely everything, in the hallways and everyone in your apartment. The worst place I ever lived and not worth a penny. I liked my dorm that I shared with 3 women better and that says a lot.Soooo you can respond to my review but you still haven’t answered my last email. Also my damn is Lizzy not lizzie
The price is very high. i once tried to take my 1st born son and his dog and they took the dog and too this day we still havent gotten him back its been two years. please give him back we miss him. #freebobbyshmurda.
All in all, it was a pretty great experience. Sure, it was a little on the pricey end, but basically the same cost as living in a dorm. I had very good experiences with the management once we were all moved in and they were accessible whenever I needed. There were only a few negatives.1. The couch cushions were horrible and were always shedding. However, management did have an order in for replacements so Im glad they were on top of the situation.2. The garage door would be broken once in a while but I never had any issue from it and theres not much they can do about it. They took every step to notify us quickly.3. The cable quality was pretty bad. Definitely not HD. Really only impacted us when it came to sports.4. Wireless Internet was unreliable. However, Im not sure what the cause was. It couldve been our router. It couldve been configuration settings. All I know is I used Ethernet and it was top notch.5. When we moved in, they were having a lot of difficulty with whatever company was helping them set up, so our apartment was still dirty and there was only one bed, not a bunk bed. However, when we talked to a manager, it was resolved immediately and she really did help out a lot.6. Over the summer before moving in, they were difficult to get in touch with at the office. To some degree thats understandable because they were really busy during that time. Also, I was able to get in touch with an employee through another phone line. Can you handle those faults? I could and I had a great time. Sure, it can be a little costly, but the location was great and it felt like home quickly. Never experienced distracting noise, online payments were easy, staff and management were accessible, and every fault was reasonable. There are far worse places to stay and I dont know another apartment that Id recommend over Sydney when you factor in location, cost, and management.
I have been at Sydney hall for 2 years and will soon be moving because I have graduated. I will first start with what is good about the building;- It is close to campus- The staff is friendly- Fairly thick wallsHere are my issues with the building categorized by severity:Small Problems:-The AC/Heating constantly broke down-The furnishings provided were poor quality and (in my opinion) not properly cleaned before move in- Wifi was spotty-Hallways and stairways were not in great condition, e.g. stains, smells, etc.-Any notice given about things being broken, repairs being made, windows being cleaned were hardly ever mentioned 48 hours before hand as is the standard.Medium Problems:-It seemed one of the elevators was broken every other week (I got stuck in an elevator 3 times for around 5-10 minutes)-The parking garage would break making it impossible to leave with my car, or park it if stuck outside- If you get locked out of your apartment you have to pay a massive fee, something around $50 I believe- Overcharge for building, you could honestly rent a one bedroom downtown for what I pay to rent a one bedroom here.- Due to the poor quality of the furnishings, The couch cushions quickly started cracking and peeling. When I inquired about a replacement cushion they said they only do replacements twice a year, and so were unable to help me.Large Problems:- I and several other people were completely locked out of the building late one evening because due to clerical errors with new fobs, all our entry keys were deactivated.-While you only live in your apartment for half of the first month and half of the last month, you still pay full price for both months. This is not advertised anywhere and it essentially means you pay for 12 months, and only live there for 11 months.-Furthermore the EMERGENCY HELP line number listed on the website AND the helpline number visible from the entryway went to the main office, which was closed, and some other office that was closed. The only number that does work is one posted on the front desk, which is not visible from the entryway, and you cannot get to the front desk without using your fob (which again was deactivated)I would also like to add that whether it was being locked out, having to park my car somewhere else (due to garage failure) or not even being able to get my car out, no form of compensation or apology beyond a mass email was ever offered. To conclude this rant. I recognize that as students we should not be expecting to have luxury apartments on a students budget. However this building advertises as luxury accommodations while woefully underdelivering for a frankly exorbitant price. I have not heard of even half of these problems at other buildings built by the Doran company, so I must come to the conclusion that it is singular to this structure. I could overlook the high prices that are borderline collusion among the buildings around here, if this places wasnt so frustrating to live in. I HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere.
Excellent menu, great price. I loved the lingonberry cream cheese.
Overall weve had a very good experience living in Sydney Hall. The only issues weve had were a long wait to finally be assigned an apartment, killer dust bunnies (particularly on the laminate floor in the common area and the vents), the apartment not being particularly clean at move-in, and a refrigerator that is a little worse for wear. Aside from that, life here is pretty good. The location is excellent; DP Dough, McDonalds, CVC, Target Express, and the rest of Dinkytown are all just a step outside the front door and getting to class on Northrop mall is only a 5 minute walk. Taking quality and square footage into account, we are getting the best deal on campus. Not to mention, our room up on the top floors south corner has the best view of the Minneapolis skyline anywhere on campus, bar none. You cant have it though because weve decided to renew our lease for another year :P
I lived here for the school year of 2014-2015 and had a not so hot experience. Upon move in, our apartment was very dirty and the couch cushions looked like cats had been using them as their scratching pole for months. We brought it to managements attention and they were able to get new covers for the couch... a few months later. I was surprised there was no warning or notification of the state of our couch prior to move in and it was just assumed that we would be fine with unknowingly getting new couch cushions in November. The Air Conditioning went out 3 times within the first 2 weeks, internet problems, maintenance issues here and there, and then finally not having power beginning Friday afternoon up until Sunday morning. The maintenance guy first said hed be there Friday night, then Saturday afternoon, then Saturday night, and finally late Sunday morning he came. Not having power was apparently not too big of a deal to them.I created a huge list of problems we had dealt with and went downstairs to give it to the managers. They were very apologetic, though they didnt have solutions for much.I ended up subleasing my apartment for the summer due to military training in which I had no cell phone use, email, or any contact outside of our base. When I got to the airport at the end of my training, I had an email saying I was late on my rent because my subleaser didnt pay the total amount owed because he moved out early. I was told I had until the 15th to pay and then I would be sent to collections in an email sent a few days after rent was due. My roommates let the manager know what I was doing and I why I was unable to respond. I received another email a few days later, on the 11th, that said if I didnt pay by the end of the day, I was being sent to collections. The timeline for getting my payment in had somehow been bumped up 4 days for no apparent reason. When I got to the airport, I called the leasing office and explained my situation, in depth, to Jeremy (I believe the manager at the time). He showed little to no concern for my situation and said I needed to submit payment by the end of the day or I would be sent to a collection agency. I was, at this point, at an airport on the other side of the country. I asked if I could drop a check off when I got back the next day and if the late fee could be waived because of the extenuating circumstances, because I had never missed a rent payment prior, had no write ups during my stay, and because of the whole situation with the subleaser. I was once again told no, I needed to pay that day. My only option was to pay online using a credit card, which was an additional fee of ~$40 on top of the late fee.Prior to leaving, I received an email telling me I had a package that I needed to come pick up otherwise it would be sent back to the sender. I had since moved back home for the summer. I wasnt expecting anything, but didnt want to risk not getting a package that I must have ordered. In the email, it explicitly stated that I, by name, had a package. After driving an hour and half to get there, they told me that it was actually a mass email sent to all residents just to come check to see if they had packages because they had a few that hadnt been picked up in quite some time. Nice.I then experienced problems again with them trying to get my security check back and CRP tax form.Long story short, the only employee that really seemed to care about much was Flavia... who didnt work nearly as often after the new management took over and I believe doesnt even work there now.Wouldnt recommend.
No working AC in Unit and was told that it isnt an emergency so maintenance would not expedite our request and still do not have working AC 3 days later!. Boxes and packages that are ordered are left in the lobby with no staffed front desk to monitor who receives it. Horribly managed. Weak facility security.
I never lived here but terrible customer service. I found an ad on craigslist for them posted 679. I went all the way over there only for the lady zita to waste an hour of my time showing me around. I left an hour before the office closed and was ready to apply next morning and they said its 779 for the same room or 889 to move in august because the offer they had has been taken. I asked them to take the ad down as a result since it would trick others. Its still up there after a week. Dont get fooled and save your time. The apartment isnt all that and its definitely a scam to young adults who are looking for an apartment within their budget. No apologies nothing. They couldve atleast informed me they gave the room away, no?
When you sign a lease with them, be ready to pay for a full months rent in August even though management makes you move out by the 20th. What a waste of money - especially because the rooms are overpriced as is. Also, communication with management after move-out is nearly impossible. Management never answers the phone, even during business hours, and they will not get back to you. Worst management ever!
Live here if you want to be continually let down by management. They will continue to amaze you.
Ive been living here for 4 years. But, after the management company was changed, the customer service becomes horrible. The manager and staffs are unfriendly and unprofessional.
Funiest show dude
