Loved the house and wanted to resign. Tried to resign in NOVEMBER and they notified us that they already signed OUR house to someone else without notifying us. Tried talking to them about it but they just wanted the extra money from the next tenets. AMAZING properties but the landlords do not care about your business and dedication at all. Completely disappointed and made sure we signed with a different company because we didn’t want to give them business. Claim to be a christian business but show completely different morals. Would NOT recommend.

Every experience is different and mine was 5 stars!I lived at the Ephesians in Circle Pines. Property was well maintained and Scott and Molly took great care of me.Side note: their team seems to mostly work in the field/ away from the office, so the best way to communicate is via email. Communication is key! Thanks Dinkytownrentals!

Absolute worst living experience of my life. My review would exceed the character limit if I listed every aspect of how terrible these thieves are. Shame they have a monopoly on DinkyTowns rental market. If only students had the financial and legal means to fight for themselves; they not only violated multiple laws but they were literally the most toxic people I have ever dealt with.

This company let another tenant move in while my leasing terms were still in place even though I paid for the entire months rent. I was not evicted nor did I break my leasing terms. They took away my access to the building after receiving my payment and let another person move in. 10/10 would NOT recommend!

Came into the apartment game in 2020. Got my first apartment. Everything was going great. Had some repairs that needed to be done, but werent. Sink was backed up and they took over a week before i had a working faucet. Then when I moved out. I notified them that im going active soon and need my deposit if possible. They said I would get it. Today is the 21st and I still dont have it. I leave Monday and now I dont know how im going to get that money into my account. They wouldnt allow me to come pick it up as I have asked before. I do not know the deposit amount. Hopefully it will be accurate, due to the fact that no new damage was done to the place. I put no nails in the walls. NOTHING. SO WELL SEE. Dont rent from them. Security Deposit is a 0/5 stars, Maintenance 0/5, lease is 5/5, customer service is 3/5. They operate only by email. Good luck getting anything done over the phone with them.

Cheap and greedy landlords that do not take care of their properties. There were mice and walls literally caving in upon move-in. Take photos of everything and dont trust them because they will do everything in their power to screw you out of your security deposit (light bulbs, dirty floors).I would not suggest anyone renting from them and hope they go out of business for bad practices and lack of maintenance. They showed the home to future tenants WITHOUT prior notice. Overall, I would do everything possible to avoid dinkytown rentals.

I love Dinkytown Rentals. I lived in The Endurance Apartment Building on 8th St SE and it was great. The building was quiet and the parking was off-street and the property manager was nice to me. It was a great experience.

It’s taken me approximately two years to know how to properly review this company. To start, I agree with everyone who rated this company one-star. They are textbook definitions of slumlords. Although my house had the typical issues DTR houses have - mice, frequent broken utilities, and ignoring tenants requests - there were two main issues that leave me infuriated two years later. To start, the house, in a dangerous area, did not have proper door locks to keep tenants safe. After requesting proper deadbolts for two months (while condescendingly questioning my request), they finally installed dead bolts - on INTERIOR doors. Secondly, in January, the heat went out 5 separate times, every time the company made temporary fixes. We requested a new boiler and they refused until one night the boiler leaked carbon monoxide throughout the whole house. The fire department red flagged the boiler, and THAT is the only reason the boiler was replaced. After expressing our frustration with the fire chief, he took the liberty to send an examiner the next day. Many new safety installments were made because of this city inspection. The safety of their tenants are the LAST thing on their mind. Money is their front focus. If you want to live in a safe home, don’t rent with DTR.

Rented from them for 2 years. Definitely saw a lot of positive changes in how they treat their tenants. The staffs are super friendly and helpful. And they respond to maintenance request pretty fast. (The one time when they didnt replace the broken fridge in time, they gave me enough gift cards to replace all the food!) Oh and I even got a Christmas card from the staffs the second year!Keep up the good work :)

I wish I could rate this less than a one star. This company is very unethical. They have six college students, one being my daughter living a a rental house and the limit legally is 3. My daughter and one of her room mates live in the basement with mold and flooding and they admit they know it has those issues but will not fix it but have no problem taking rent from them for $3,000 a month. Last week a building inspector came and Dinkytown Rentals LLC came with a moving truck that morning while my daughter was in class and removed her and her roommates bed so the building inspector would not see that people lived in the basement. On top of that, they never returned her bed or anything in her room until the next day so she had to sleep on the floor.

BEWARE! Lowlife slumlords who only care about making money. TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU MOVE IN AND OUT!!! EVERYTHING!!! When you move in the place will be a disaster and dirty with lots of broken or missing items. (My daughter didnt have a rod in her closet for 3 weeks after moving in...among a list of other items too extensive to list.) Yet when you move out, they will charge you outrageous rates to fix, clean or replace things that you never broke or took, even if you leave it clean and in better condition than when you moved in. Its ridiculous. They will try to take as much money out of your security deposit as possible when you leave, and they will fight you tooth and nail to avoid giving it back to you. Very slow to ever fix anything...if they even do. And forget ever speaking with anyone...and if they do talk to you, they will treat you like dirt. If this sounds like the place for you, go ahead, but I would never allow anyone I liked to live there again. And they do it under the guise of being Good Christians, which is truly reprehensible.*** Addition to my earlier review...Not sure why after over a YEAR this company decided to respond to my review, but I find it very amusing. I guess business isnt so great and they felt it was time for some damage control. IMO, this just emphasizes the lack of response from anyone at this company in general, since it is indicative of how long it takes them to respond to requests and concerns from their tenants and get anything done. Point proven.Everything they said in their response are total lies. We never saw one photo and it is well known that they are known for keeping the security deposits of their tenants, regardless of the condition when the tenants move out. Furthermore, they treated me with anything BUT respect when I interacted with them. Everything I stated above, and more, is true.

DO NOT RENT FROM DINKYTOWN RENTALS. If I could give this company less than one star, I would. The staff will come across as very kind and helpful when you are signing your lease, but after youre locked in, it is an entirely different story. First of all, they do not take care of their properties. The first week we lived in the house, there was a gas leak coming from the basement that required emergency dispatch of the energy company. The house was INFESTED with mice the entire year that I lived there. When informed, Dinkytown Rentals sent maintenance to set up a few measly sticky traps, which obviously did not resolve the problem. They never offered to send an exterminator or even set up effective traps. The walls are not sturdy and the floors are bowing and uneven. The toilet had a piece that was duct taped in the tank, submerged in water. When the toilet broke, they fixed it by adding more duct tape. TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING WHEN YOU MOVE IN. They took over $1,400 from our security deposit for damages that were not caused by us. We were charged for replacing window screens that were obviously old that the rental company shouldve payed to replace years ago. We were charged for missing keys that were returned to the rental company upon move out. We were charged almost $900 for cleaning even though we left the house cleaner than we found it. Finally, they did construction in the unit while we were still living in it without discounting rent or allowing us to say no. They walled off our living room from the rest of the house to create a new bedroom for the next tenants. These people are thieves who are taking advantage of students with no other choice.

Price for my unit is $3500 for a 5 bedroom, which is steep but I understand because of the location. Scott, the main man in charge, provided great customer service before signing the lease and TERRIBLE service after. They only want your money. I went in today just to ask some simple questions regarding move in times and he made it seem like I was not only wasting his time, but he seemed aggravated that I even stopped in. Terrible experience and Im sad that I got into a contract with this company. On another note, when I asked to give me a break down of all the payments for the security deposit, Scott said well cant you ask your Roomates? Umm.... no. Your job is to give me the information.

Take a picture of everything. We moved into a house with an innumerable amount of damage disgusting floors, a over that didnt work, a dishwasher that didnt work and a circuit that was improperly wired. These damages were used to collect our deposit on move out. Despite being on separate leases we were threatened with eviction when one of the other Tennants was late on their rent. We were charged for late move out because a sub lease, who we had no say in leasing to, didnt move out on time. Beneath their pious exterior are greedy, petty people willing to screw you at any opportunity. They are a terrible group to rent from. But if you take pictures of every piece of damage when you move in I guarantee you will see a significant portion of that deposit. Life lesson learned. I will be treating future land Lords with distrust.

You’re probably desperate for a place to live right now and are thinking of renting with this company. DO NOT. As another reviewer said, they will be super kind to you while touring but once you are stuck with your lease they literally do not care. My house was filled with mice and I got money taken out of my security deposit for an oven that I never used once and was charged $35 for my ceiling fan not being cleaned! It probably took 10 seconds to dust it and I just happened to forget to do so before leaving. One of my blinds broke, just 1 single blind because they look like they haven’t been replaced since the 80’s, and I was charged $50 to replace that. They are scammers and the properties are so gross and crappy. They apparently don’t believe in “normal wear and tear,” they will rent you a house that is falling apart and use YOUR money from your security deposit to pay for it when you leave.
