Whenever you need and affordable nice car, Fox is a Good choice, they are not tricky like the guys across the street, unlimited miles and you can use your own SunPass. Today I met the future Manager of the Business, returning the β Great American Jeep Wrangler πΊπΈβ, COLBY!!!!. This Guy gave all of those arriving such a Great Customer experience!!!! He even knew Spanish!!!!, itβs so hard to find Nice People in Miami, but Colby is those 1 in a million with the right attitude to deal with customers, NICE JOB MAN!!!! Thanks FOX keep working on having a Great Team!!!!
STAY AWAY !!! Where do I begin, if I can give this place zero stars I would. I just rented a vehicle about 2 hours ago I when to see my recited and notice that 3rd party liability insurance was added to my reservation. I booked DIRECTLY on their website to make sure that I know exactly how much I was going to pay. I had requested them to take off any additional insurance and he said that if anything happens then I will be liable and I said yes I know. Then later on the road in said that this was a requirement. This is stated NO WERE in the original reservation stating this. I explained to them how am I supposed to know of this insurance requirement if you donβt say it on your website? Or on the reservation? If it is a requirement it should be on there. I was about to cancel and leave the car but unfortunately, nothing else was available. Then the car I told the girl that the car has a big ding on the trunk and she said that ok and I said market down but decided to take a picture of the proof and posted it here to make sure they dont tell me that I did it. That is how sneaky they are. We will see how this goes when I return the car in four days. I would recommend going somewhere else the prices might be good but they will get you once you arrive.
This wonderful and Iβm being sarcastic Rent-A-Car company will take your money from a third-party and say that you need a 24 hour reservation and then on top that theyβll except walk-in and tell them they have cars available but not you that you already paid for your car!!! beware stay away the rating is a two for a reason... Furthermore there was a party returning a nice looking jeep saying that it had a family of cockroaches in it while I was waiting
Horrible rental car service!!! Please, there are so many other rental car places in Miami. This place is a scam. Upon arriving from the airport, we were immediately told our vehicle we reserved was not available (I reserved it a month in advance). The only options we were given were upgrades which cost $30 more per day for our 10 day trip to Miami. I had no choice as we were shuttled to an off airport site location and we were tired from our 10 hour plane ride. Then we were told Miami has lots of tolls and we needed to purchase the toll package because there is no way to pay for tolls with cash or card, so that was additional money...during our ENTIRE stay in Miami we did not pass one toll!!! Then we get to our upgrade it was a basic model charger with stains all through the seats and it smelled terrible. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!! they did it to two other customers that came on the shuttle with us.
These 5 stars are 100% for employee Sam Cris. Super helpful. I had no faith in this company until I dropped off my rental car and Sam was incredibly helpful and accommodating as I would have missed my flight and been very frustrated about fees if he hadnβt explained & got me to the airport on time. What a star employee. Give this guy a raise!
The hidden fees are unreal. But that wasnt my main issue. This place is running a scam and every single bad review is accurate. I was told i was going to get the $200 deposit back and they are refusing to give it to me now. They never disclosed to me that the car had to be returned with a full tank of gas. Do yourself the favor and avoid this company by any means necessary. I called to get my money back and they say that there is no way and were very rude and asked me if i had ever rented a car before and that returning it with a full tank should be common sense. I cant imagine how bad the experience might be for someone who gets into an accident or something. Oh and by the way the car was absolutely filthy.

I will never rent from here again. The cars are super old. Also, the shuttle is taking over 35minutes and we are still waiting. I came early to get to the airport and now we are at the mercy of the rental company to make the flight. I also waited for over 30mins for the shuttle to take me to the rental place. This is not located at the airport. If you are going to rent your car here, make sure you return the car super early. Probably an hour earlier than other rental places... Otherwise, you might miss your flight.

The bad reviews are accurate. I rented a car through Expedia and when I arrived they told me they did not have that car (Jeep or similar, several in the lot). Instead they try to upgrade us to something else that cost more. Now Im left stranded and with no refund. Avoid this place at all cost. It is a real shame since I had such a good experience with the Vegas location. I will be avoiding this company from now on. For those wondering if its worth trying despite the bad reviews, dont do it! Thats how I ended up here. As for the company. DONT RENT OUT CARS YOU DO NOT HAVE!
Over the past 73 years of my life I have rented a car at an airport probably in excess of 150 times. Never in my life have I had a worse experience than at Fox Rent A Car. I stress this, STAY AWAY FROM FOX RENT A CAR. I was set up, I was lied to, I was overcharged. I walked into their office and asked if I had to have a reservation and a man by the name of Will said no. I left the office to get on line, only four people were in front of me. 30 minutes later I am first in line and I gal invites me in. She said to go to window 3. On her way behind the counter Will calls to her. She goes over to Will and he whispers into her ear. As he is whispering, she turns her head to look at me, then turns away when she noticed I was looking at this scene in front of me. She then tells me Will is going to help me. I talk will Will and he tells me the rental for the car I want is $80 a day and I said the company across the street is out of this car but they only charge $70 a day. He said he would lower the cost to that. It takes another have hour to fill out all the paperwork, I do and then notice he is charging me $80 a day for 6 days. Will said he will make an adjustment and to trust him, they are so busy he wants to email me the correction and said please take the car. I did. No email so the next day I get on the Fox Rent A Car website and there is their rate for this car I have and it is listed at $70 a day. I call will and tell him I am one unhappy person. He tells me to bring back to car and he will give me a full refund. I take the car back. He then tells me at his office he does have to charge me $110 for the day. I tell Will charge me, and let me get out of his office as fast as I can. I have have to file a fraud claim with American Express because he charged to my card $913. STAY AWAY FROM FOX RENT A CAR. I went to Advantage Car rental at the airport where I rented a beautiful Nissan sedan for $59 a day.
I rented a car for around $16 a day with this company through Priceline. I didnβt read the reviews before I did so, I did when I was on my way to pick up my rental. I really got so scared when I read all this bad reviews because I thought I was going to have a really bad experience but Iβm the type of person that likes to make the difference and not let others decide for me.Once I got there to pick up the car I made it clear that I have my own insurance, that I didnβt wanted the sun pass because I wasnβt going to use it and even if I wanted it I believe itβs only $28 or so. Anyways, I had a pleasant experience. The shuttle was at the airport when I arrived, the driver was really nice he even helped with my luggage.YOGI was the person who took care of my rental he made sure that everything was taken care of, he listened to my concerns and he really did a great job on making me a satisfied customer. I didnβt even spent 10mnts there and my car was ready. When I returned the car there was someone already at the parking lot ready to take the car. Shuttle was there fast also. Good deal and good company to rent a car, based on my experience.Just ask questions and let them know what you want or donβt. Communication is the key.I will rent from this company next time I travel and also will recommend it to my friends. Ps I had to leave a deposit and it wasnβt on hold for more than 24 hours after I returned the car. Thank you!
First time renting here and last time. They wanted to give me a car with the front tires completely worn out!!! Rear tires were like new. It just shows you that when they change the oil they do not rotate the tires. I Made them give me another car, it had 70,000 miles. i rent a lot and i never have received a car rental with more then 30,000 miles. The car smelled, this was the Miami location.
Firstly, the location is off airport. You have to take the train to the rental car area, then take a shuttle bus to this shady location. In all fairness, they had disclosed this on their website.Weβve been waiting for quite some time to get to the car counter. I donβt know whatβs the holdup, but as I am writing this, I will likely end up canceling our reservation and go with another rental company.This right here is not how one wants to start their vacation.
Buyers Beware! They up charged me to $29 to bring back the vehicle with 1/2 tank; the vehicle only has 1/4 tank when we received it. They are also located in the boon docks far from the other rentals and is difficult to find when returning the vehicle. Also, we waited in line for over one hour before we were able to pick up our reservation. The reservation was canceled 4 hours before our flight was scheduled to arrive.
Let me send a big old middle finger to fox! Reserved a car weeks ago and flew into Miami tonight only to be told by the shuttle driver that they literally had no cars. Waiting for the shuttle I read the reviews and got a little nervous, believe them. Rent from Hertz, thereβs a reason fox isnβt inside the airport

Be careful with this company. The price you pay online is not real. We rented a car for 12 days at around $400 and when we arrived to pick up the car they asked for a $700 extra fee. They didnβt have the car we rented available. We ended up leaving and when we got back to the airport we realized they had kept our license and they didnβt even bother to call us. It was a waste of time and money. They said they had cancelled our reservation but actually we spent days calling the company to get the refund. Also, they lied about the gas price.

I had an awesome experience here! The young lady that helped me was super efficient and fast. We were in and out in 10 minutes! My flight was delayed and they still had the car I requested! Great rate and great car. Will definitely rent from them again. Not sure why there is so many bad reviews. This place is worth it!
I rented here once before and had no issues so I recommended to a friend and made a reservation. It was an exhausting, appalling, and frustrating experience for my friend. My friend waited in line for over an hour after finally getting there via their shuttle service. They refused to honor the rates and information provided for the reservation. My friend called me to confirm the information provided for the reservation and I could hear Mike in the background arguing with my friend. Mike was very unhelpful as well as unprofessional. I will not use or recommend this car rental company ever again. 1 star for my 1 positive experience I had 3 years ago.
The vehicle was nice, however there were hidden fees that I wasnt aware of when I rented though Priceline. I ended up spending nearly $500 even though I only had the care for a few days. Wish they were more transparent and more reasonably priced.
Was not the same price a reserved it for. The price went up almost $250 more that what I had already paid. This was such a lie. He tried to charge me more for things that were already paid for. His response was, well online is a different price than here in person. Horrible lie. And car was dirty and smelled funny. Like a smoker car that tried to clean it over and over and over. This should be zero stars!!!!! Horrible organization that does not issues refunds for not picking up vehicle when reservation was cancelled four days before pick up. Stay away from this location people are rude and do not care. Awful customer service. This is the most harsh review I ever given of any organization, they outright thieves. Nothing they can say on this response would make it better. Taking peoples money is wrong on so many levels.
Honestly donβt even bother. Rented a car knowing that I had insurance that would cover the liability but the guy at the desk said that they didnβt allow third party insurance. Just go ahead and book with a better company if you are going to use your own insurance because in the end it doesnβt save you any money and will be a big time waster having to take the shuttle from the airport. The car had scratches and dents all over it.
Friendly and helpful staff. We had to wait for an hour to get our vehicle, but lines were long everywhere when we arrived. Their prices dont include mandatory state insurance, so youre guaranteed to pay more per day even when using a collision waiver through a credit card. Their toll coverage costs extra as well, and they charge an insane fee for each toll without coverage. Drop off is smooth. Shuttle to airport is frequent.
The price was amazing that we were able to get. Short shuttle ride which was also lots of fun with our driver. Line wasnt very long but super slow. They didnt have the size of SUV we requested so we got a free upgrade. It was an older version but worked great for what we needed. The Staff member we worked with was super nice and gave us helpful tips for the area. We would book through them again. Had to take a star for the long wait, but it all worked out.
I rented a vehicle here for my stay in Miami and I loved everything about Fox Hunt! The staff was great and so was my rental. Theyβre a little pricey but worth it .
Its long but please read so your trip will be easier. Dont think you getting a deal when you book through their site. We wanted a wrangler for a drive to Key West. I searched around and found fox for $326 for 5 days, they list it all out with taxes and fees as if that really will be your total cost, I thought sweet, what a deal! This was obviously too good to be true, as you can see with the many 1 star reviews and I wish I would have read them first. Ill admit I agreed to pay for the gas up front so thats on me, didnt want to have to find a place in Miami to fill it just before return. They charged $66.60 automatically even if you return it with half tank. That wasnt really explained, but oh well they win on that one. Here is where I get upset, the rental agent at the time, Caleb, said there will be a damage deposit charged to my card that will be returned 2-3 days after we bring the car back that is why the charge is over $500 now. That seemed fair, I agreed to that, as long as I get that deposit back. I attached my receipt for viewing, I have received no deposit back, I dont even see a deposit listed. I was charged 5 slp for $85, whatever that is. It shouldnt be insurance because Caleb asked me if I wanted it, I specifically denied it, and Caleb told me you are waiving the insurance and will be responsible for any damages to which I agreed. So what is this charge? Its a very non descript fee that they clearly didnt refund as a damage deposit. Just a charge, you pay it, too bad. Im sure its illegal in some way and I could get it back if I tried, as could thousands of other people but nobody wants to go through the hassle and they know that. It truly is kinda sketchy. Add to that, a very very dirty and stinky 3 year old thrashed jeep and a long wait for the shuttle to come get us at the airport while we are hounded by cab drivers I would truly recommend you just pay more up front for a better experience at the airport.
DO NOT RENT FROM FOX! I will give you a few reasons:1) Location: they are not at the airport. After you are done walking and walking to get to the Rental Car Center, you will still need to wait for their shuttle.2) Wait: when you get to their offices, you will still need to wait in line. It took us over an hour until it was your turn in line. I thought the lines at the other rental car companies were bad...3) No control of people in line: in spite of the fact that there was only ONE long line, an individual skipped it, went to the front of the line, and they took care of him ahead of everyone else.4) Weed smoking outside: while we waited, there were two groups of customers smoking weed in line, in spite of being surrounded by others with young kids.5) Reservation cancelled: compounding a mistake in estimating our arrival time, the time it took to get to their office, and the wait in line, it was over three hours, which they said was the longest they could hold the reservation. Not surprisingly, they could only offer options that were 20-100% more expensive.6) Bathroom stink: while in line, it was hard to shake the bad smell from the bathroom. Not surprising, considering they were clearly understaffed.
Absolutely horrid experience! Give them a call and listen to what their hold music/loop says there goal is and what their commitment is. I can assure you that they come nowhere close to fulfilling either.For starters their shuttle driver who picked us up at the on airport rental car center to take us to the offsite Fox location was literally actively browsing Facebook while transporting myself, my wife, and my two young kids. Donβt believe me watch the attached videos? It was shuttle #150 at approximately 2:40 PM on 12/11/2020.On to the actual cars; we rented 3. Tires were severely worn and leakedβvery unsafe. Had to add air in all tires on 2 of the rentals.Their billing is downright fraudulent. They charged for toll pass and insurance they never even asked me about. I will never rent from this company again. The worst car rental experience Iβve ever had. The price you pay online doesnβt match what you will end up paying upon delivery. The car I rented wasnβt available, so they provided me a different vehicle. The customer service representative when I was picking up the car was disrespectful and kept laughing at my questions regarding my rental. There is no drop box if you need to return the car during after hours. Fox wouldnβt refund me my one day that I lost because they didnβt have a drop box. If I could give this rental place 0 stars, I would. Avoid Fox rental!
Leaving one star because itβs impossible to give negatives. Quite honestly the absolute WORST experience Iβve had. We are currently waiting OVER AN HOUR for our rental. They have us standing OUTSIDE in the blistering heat. They seem to be severely understaffed and those who can help are waiting for the βpriorityβ members that are few and far in between. Itβs not made clear that the rental place isnβt even at the airport as itβs advertised, you have to walk around and guess until you find the shuttle with the name of the company. I am currently STILL waiting in line. And call wait times are excessively long so you canβt really get in touch with anyone. Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT with this company. The low prices are simply not worth the service and I will not be returning.
Stay away from this company, mainly in Miami. I got scammed. Made a reservation though cheap tickets for one day and my total was $28.42. When you get there, they tell you that you need a toll pass, but they dont tell you how much it is, they disguise the charge the same amount as the cost of your reservation, this is how they get you; I got slapped with a $28.73 and didnt even see it. If you ever get a rental from this company in Miami, which you shouldnt after reading this, ask how much it is the toll pass. it will cost you $28.73 even if its one day, 2 days or a month. I ended up paying more for a toll pass than the actual vehicle and coalitions insurance; REDICULOUS!!!
I have never in all my years of traveling sense 1992 been ripped off like Fox Rental Car. My trip was totally paid for including the rental car. However at the end I paid for the rental car twice. They know you are a long ways from home so it is like what can you do. Also the car I paid all this money for was dirty inside and out. The car was like something they got off a tote the note lot. This place is very shady and I bought a Big Cup of Experience. There are too many bad details to go through . In the end that raggedy car cost me $620 for 4 days and only 2 of the days were full days. Dont let any of the travel sites book this place for you. Also the place is located in the boondocks down the street from a junkyard.
Horrible experience! Had to wait for two hours to get our car. First hour outside, exposed under the sun, the line did not seem to move at all! Once I finally got inside the room was air conditioned, they only had two counters open and took about 15 minutes for each customer, unacceptable! The beginning of our vacation is spoiled, avoid this place!!!
You do have to take a shuttle to this location, it is hard to find the shuttle at first, but once know where at is easy to use. I found the staff super helpful and they upgraded my car from combat to midsize. Drop off is easy and the shuttle quick and efficient. I found the car great, a little more used than some others, but hey for the price totally worth it! Great place!
It was such an easy process and the people were friendly and the shuttle was waiting on us to take us back to the airport. Javier Albreu was our driver and he was very sweet.
This place has such a bad rating for a reason. The person at check in stated 4 times that Im getting FULL to FULL tank, when inside the car it was only 3/4 full. The car had a distinct smell and was pretty old for a rental. At check in they dont waln you to your car, but believe me next time make sure to go and take pictures and mark all the disks on the car and check the gas level before taking the keys!!!!
Horrible when we reserved online it said about $400, when we got there with all the fees it was over $1000. Also when trying to call them we could not get through to anyone. If I hadnt come from such a long and tiring flight I would have picked somewhere else. Would not use again.
No real issue with anyone at Fox. The issue is convenience and location. Drop-off is close to Airport, but not easy to find and it is in a questionable part of town. I would not go to that area after dark. Shuttle to Airport was good. Driver was super nice.
First time going to miami, first vacation and first time renting a car. Website noted the place was 24/hrs but due to pandemic they close from midnight to 5am, Flight delay caused the arrival to be around 3am, original booking for renting a car got cancelled, and w/ the help of a friend we ended up arriving at 5am to see what to do. Ended up going from the original car I planned on renting to a jeep. Employees was nice, the business itself probably Never ever would I ever try to rent from again. The idea was that I would be paying around 350, but I ended up paying around 600, cause I was tired, wanted to get to my hotel, and have a car so I could travel around on my first trip away from home and budget some money. Unfortunately money-wise I didnt get what I wanted. The jeep wasnt that bad though. Good luck to whoever else goes with this place.
STAY AWAY! NO signs for Fox Rental at airport so we wasted 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get to a car! For the record, a van picks you up outside of the airport and takes you to rental building. Location is in a very rough and shady area. Not enough employees to get customers in and out in a timely manner. Received rental car, got to hotel and parked car. Later that evening we went to leave for a GRADUATION PARTY and car would not crank. Held on for roadside assistance for over 41 minutes just to leave a message. Had to WALK .5 mile, at night, to get groceries and CARRY them back to condo. Never received a call back from roadside assistance. Called again the next morning and was told they could come look at the car and exchange if necessary. We had PLANS and had to cancel them ONCE again because no car to travel. I wanted to just cancel the car at this point and book with another agency but was told that I would still be charged $20 per day plus fees! Im on hold AGAIN right now, in TEARS, because I feel like my trip for my girls and myself has been ruined. We have been stranded since we arrived at our condo! My only feasible option is to wait on Fox Rental to bring us another car and PRAY it doesnt break down during the rest of our trip. The customer service lady was rude, talked over me and non-empathetic! I would NEVER do business with this company again and if you want an UNEVENTFUL trip, Id advise you STAY AWAY too!
Terrible! Avoid Fox Car Rental!It is located outside of the airport! We waited for a shuttle bus for about 20 minutes. Another 10 minutes ride in a overcrowded bus (have fun during the pandemic) and you end up in another overcrowded office located in a shady area. The office was packed! And only ONE employee was at the shelter! People were waiting for 2+ hours for their reservation with no chance to sit down! ONe employee was serving that crowd! Terrible! Avoid at all cost! Never ever again!
Had a long walk to the shuttle, only to see it drive away with very few if any people in it. Had to wait in the heat for the next one 20 min. later. Got to the off site store, which is very small, to find a line waiting out the door. 6 people ahead of us, took over an hour to get to the counter. Had to stand in a hot - not covid compliant line listening to Fox employees chit chat with customers.Once at the counter, we were basically forced to buy the daily toll plan which was a rip off, they strongly attempted to get us to purchase extended coverages etc...and we had to repeatedly say no.Finally get to a car 35 min later - so now we have wasted over 2 hours from the airport to Fox, in line and getting the car.The car has dents, dings scratches all over it. takes another 15 min to find someone to confirm these exterior issues with car so we wont be charged. Get in the car to a not so pleasant odor...but wanted to get out of there - Other than the smell, the car drove fine. Thankfully we went to FLL to return it, it was at the airport and a much easier experience.

I canβt even put no stars on this but I would like to warn you. I highly recommend you never use fox car rental. They secure you over. We first show up off sit from the airport to pick up the car rental we reserved then they tell me well your window time is over and that vehicle was given to someone else. So then they tell us the only thing they have that can accommodate us is vehicle that is cost way more than what I had originally. So now we are paying twice as much then they advertised. They are rude they donβt care how you feel and they just you need to pay the fee and move on. I felt as if I was trapped because we couldnβt go back since we had to get there offsite from the airport. Not only did this happen to me but every other person who was inline I heard complaining this place is a rip off and false advertising. This company has no customer service. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR CAR RENTALS!!! Renters be very aware..

Just imagine, 25 guest waiting in line to get their rental and there is only 2 worker checking everyone out. There is no sense of urgency or organization. Our flight from MN was faster then checking out.I will NEVER EVER rent from this company again. FYI to save everyones time, FOX rental is NOT on site of MIAMI AIRPORT...its off site and they have a shuttle coming every 40mins...40 MINUTES!
My family was going to a trip and came to get a rental here. When my dad went in, the girl at the register was pretty rude. she had some attitude. She tried to talk fast to get it over with.My dad asked how much it would be. She was I dont know, Ill tell you when i know. It was $180.56 at first. Then there was insurance that was like an extra $50. And then it was $36 a day which was and extra $102. And some more things and it came up to a total of $500. If we werent Florida residents. It would be about like $1,000. So all the reviews that are bad, are true.
Excelente experience..... I canβt began to explain how helpful Sam was . He went above and Beyond to help me with my car rental. I had a long flight and things just seem to get more complicated.. traveling with 5 kids was already hard enough. He made everything so easy even when It wasnβt and made sure to get me the car I needed and was super fast, understanding and kind . Thank you So so much Sam ....
My family showed up with a reservation on time and the representative told them they had no car ready for us. They said they would hold our reservation for 24 hrs and my family could come back and get the car.So they took public transit to their hotel and had to walk a little under a mile with their luggage. When they went back the next day, the representative told my family the reservation was cancelled since they didnβt show up. No refund. No car. It wasnβt until my dad lost his temper that they finally gave him a car.Today weβve been wanting to talk to customer service about tolls since no one told us about it at the car rental place. 2 hours on hold this morning, we finally had to hang up. 2 more hours on hold tonight. We were the first person in line for 30 minutes. Then they said their call center was closed and hung up on us.Iβve never been so annoyed with a βour goal is great customer serviceβ hold mantra in my life because it has been SO contradictory to our experience.
Showed up within the grace period. Line was long by the time we got up to get the car grace period had ended by 4 minutes. Couldnβt do anything about it for some reason even though we were there and Apparently the only other car available after that was one that was more expensive.once we situated and paid more we had to wait another 20 minutes to get the vehicle. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. Never coming back.
Quick, easy, and affordable experience. Tulip, the person who helped us was soo great! Much better than Vegas Fox off offsite location where I had to wait over 1 hr in line to get my car. But hey thatβs Vegas.... busy again busy. In fairness the lady that helped us in Vegas was great too! I forget her name
The people there where great very quick and helpful. Also very caring. But when it came to customer service roadside assistance it was the WORST HORRIBLE experience. We wasted 6hrs of our trip waiting for them to send 2 different tow drivers which never showed up. We ended up calling our own tow service.
Use the big name agencies. Despite what they advertise as the price, theyll charge you more anyway. I would have given NO stars if able. 1st of all I was told the car had a full tank of fuel then they handed me the keys so I just walked outside and found the car. No one did a walkaround with me so I took the car and left, while driving away I realized the car had less than a 1/4 tank. I tried to call but it was impossible to speak with anyone and I was already late for where I needed to be. I brought the car back on time and the guy who took it said that I was good and could leave (again no walkaround) now I have an additional $137.00 charged to my credit card. I tried to call to get it resolved but like I mentioned before its impossible to speak with anyone there. I waited 15 minutes on the phone listening to annoying on hold music before I decided to give up (Im confident thats their plan). My time is worth more than that but rest assured, I will NEVER rent another vehicle from them again and Ill tell all of my friends, family, co-workers, customers and anyone else who will listen to avoid them as well.
I made a reservation for the Miami location through Expedia for a Jeep Wrangler or similar.Β When we got there, they didnt have THIS Jeep Wrangler available, so we had to upgrade and pay more for a Jeep Wrangler. Ok. We were headed to Key West, so we didnt purchase the plate pass as the person assisting us assured us it would be less than $20 in tolls. Great. We get on the road in our Jeep Wrangler and 20 minutes in to our trip, the jeep starts shaking while accelerating, and the check engine light starts flashing.Β We pull off the highway and call the roadside assistance # and any other Fox # we had only to sit on hold for over 15 minutes to get someone in a call center that couldnt help us. So we decide to take the risk of turning around and going back to Fox. We are now an hour past our trip arrival time by the time we get back to Fox and they give us another Jeep Wrangler.Β We explained how we had already gone through tolls and didnt want to be charged for them since we had to come back and return the almost broke down Jeep. The manager tells me he would give me a $20 credit to cover all of the tolls. Terrible offer considering what we had been through to this point, but fine- get me out of here! Back on the road we went, this Jeep was filthy, but worked fine. Great.Β Fast forward to this week in June, and Ive received $15.64 in toll charges along with $105.00 in administrative fees.This is a joke, RIGHT?UPDATE- this 3rd party company they use to bill tolls reduced my payment to 47.96. Gee, thanks. The 14.30 in tolls I actually owe would be more accurate.
Your agent was super proficient and helpful! I was in and out in less then 5minutes! I made a reservation at the place next door,waited for ever, and decided enough is enough. Luckily your awesome agent was able to help out, and I was able to make it without being late! Iβm not really sure what his name is, but he is Turkish/Iranian! Thank you again!!
Picked up my rental on Friday and noticed the tires were almost bald, on Saturday I noticed this spot was so worn the wires were exposed so stopped driving it. Since there was a flood warning I didnt feel safe driving this with my kids in it to return it. Returned the vehicle Sunday morning and the guy said he would waive the fees for that day and Saturday, but when I got my receipt they still charged me for those days.. if this is what they offer to people as in good driving condition then Id avoid this place. Had to rent another vehicle from another place that was half the price and had good working tires. I will not be recommending this place or going back and I would suggest you read their other reviews, this place is well on its way to 1 star with their service and quality vehicles.
This place is an absolute rip off.The price your credit online is not the price it will be. I was charge over $130 more than the price I was quoted online. It specifically says online that you do not have to use their insurance but they do not tell you that if you do not use her insurance they will charge you anyway. You are not allowed to use your own insurance.On top of all that the jeep we rented was a piece of junk. It pulled to the right and the whole car would shake. It had zero washer fluid in it so I had to keep pulling over at gas stations to wash the window due to bugs. It also stunk like cigarette smoke so we had to drive with the windows down most of the time. To be honest I donβt even want to give them one star. Terrible company
Pretty much all the previous reviews hold good.Their customer care sucksTheir ability to understand the trip plan of customers over phone sucksTheir cars are moderate...But still I prefer to give the starts solely because of the from desk folks. I have more than one reason to give away the stars.They were helpful especially with our case and offered good consessions and supported our Florida trip.
The services was horrible and itβs very different from the California office, I had several rental experiences with Fox before but never have such a bad experiences . The prices were over charged and I canβt use my insurance due to the companyβs policy and got charged some unknow passes since itβs my first time here in Miami. I trusted the lady and it turns out it was a waste of money .If the office is already NOT inside of the airport, perhaps more customer derives and more selection of cars will be more competitive but one thing for sure, I will NOT rent from this place again .Very disappointed and perhaps when the rating is so low the Corp needs to find out the reason .
Made a reservation for $170, total came out to $300+. It was 5 in the morning and we didnt really have the time or energy to go somewhere else. As many other people have pointed out this place is shady as heck. Go with someplace more honest at the airport
The common theme here seems to be, lied to, overcharged. Girl at the counter said they donβt have the compact SUV I reserved so she would have to give me a standard one. Sells me insurance after I said I didnβt want it, at the end gives me the keys to a compact SUV after charging me an extra $100 for a standard. I asked for a list of my charges before paying and she said I donβt have anything to show before you pay. Saw 4 customers leave before my eyes. One girl was told these guys donβt carry change so she had to leave these guys extra cash. Worst rent a car experience Iβve had in my life and I rent cars pretty often, and have never written a bad review in my life regardless of how bad the place was.
I rented a minivan from Fox Miami from 3/16/21 to 3/24/21. I was very leery especially after reading all of the bad reviews. I did pay upfront when I booked and I did know the place was off site from the airport. My flight was in the evening so I arrived at Fox around 10 PM. If I was to complain about anything it would be that they only had 1 person working the counter. I had about 6 people in front of me when I arrived. It took about 40 minutes to acquire the vehicle. The guy behind the counter was very courteous and processed my paperwork quickly. He did ask if I wanted the insurance and the sun pass for the toll roads which I declined. There was no pressure from him to purchase any of it and he finished up the paperwork. (Make sure you bring proof of insurance with you if you donβt want to have to purchase their insurance).After receiving the keys to the rental, I went to the garage area to pick up the vehicle. After reading the reviews I was very skeptical about what condition the vehicle would be in. To my surprise it was in very good condition and only had about 20,000 miles on it. The vehicle ran great and we had no issues with it. While returning the van the process was quick and the airport shuttle was waiting for us as soon as we dropped off the vehicle.I waited to write my review until my $150 deposit for the vehicle was reimbursed to my credit card. It only took about 4 days for the reimbursement. Which I think is very acceptable.All in all my experience with Fox was very good and the money we saved by using them was substantial!I am even going to try and use them again for our trip to Fort Myers at the end of June but they do not seem to have a minivan at that location at this time, Which is a must for us!If you use them, I hope it works out as well for you as it did for me!
I have dealt many times with Fox Rental in Orlando/LA but I had only 5 stars for those locations. Honestly Miami Fox Rental is the worst one. I will give negative 10 stars if there is an option. Stay away from this location like plague. They charge you if you talk (LOL). This was my dealing with them on July 28, 2021 rental for 6 days. Luckily I didnt proceed in renting the car as I had backup reservation at on-site Airport location. Only gripe for me is I wasted 45 minutes of my time as well as I could have saved another $60/- extra for my rental if I had booked with Costco for the same car! They keep adding charge like forcing to rent the toll pass (I had taken mine from ILLINOIS which works in Florida) and used it with my Thrifty Car Rental without any issues. Also, other charges like $90/- or so. I walked out. When I was trying to get back to Airport I met this poor lady who had booked for $500/- SUV rental and she told me she ended up paying $900/- for the same. I hope State of Florida investigates this location and shuts them down permanently.
Left my speaker in the trunk of the rental. I called and a front desk lady helped me find it in under 15 minutes. She offered to ship my speaker to me as well because I am from Texas which saved my life!! Definitely recommend renting a car from here!
If I could give 0 stars I would. We had this rental for 10days in Miami. The car itself was fine no serious problems other than it shook a lot at stops. This place needs new management or something. My family of five including 3 toddlers waited nearly 3 hours in the hot sun just to get into the building and still had to wait about another hour to get service. The place was tiny and seriously packed. Only two workers, and one finally came back from lunch. They were extreme slow! They didnβt have the car we reserved and their inventory wasnβt correct. The staff got into a small altercation about booking cars wrong in front of us. She changed my car 4 times because they didnβt have what was truly in the system. Finally we were done checking in and had to wait about 30 more minutes for the car finish being washed. Oh and itβs my fault because I shouldβve did more research but the facility is not in the airport or walking distance. There is a complementary shuttle. If it wasnβt so far we wouldβve gone back to the airport to choose another company! The price was also $400 more than what I booked on orbits!
Please read all the reviews. I got a discount price for a rental for a week that was too good to be true. Well it was. They are a scam - making you take their insurance and you cannot decline their insurance - Plus you get a ton of misc. fees. I had to pay $11 a day to drive on toll roads that I only used one day. My $250 rental turned into a $585 rental with their fees / surcharges and misc. They tried to tell me I could leave the car and they would fill it up cheaper but they charge you for an entire tank of Gas. That is not saving $ until you somehow perfectly run out of fuel in their parking lot.I should have known if when I got on a shuttle to leave the airport I would in trouble. PLEASE DO NOT RENT FROM THEM- They will scam you and your rental will be more than the other places. Worst rental experience of my life and I hope others will avoid the scam.The worst part is they have you - you cant walk away because there are no other counters because you are off site. they may look attractive with the price but read the reviews!
We arrived to this location to pick up our car and thought it was going to be a miserable experience but since we was only going to stay for a few days lets just see what happens. We ended up getting a sonata which was pretty decent since we reserved a full size car then we extended our trip for another 4 days but had to return the car. After searching for another car rental and realizing that fox was the cheapest we decided to rent from them again. We reserved another full size car and fox was going to give us another sonata we told their representative Mohammed that we just had that car during our trip and he upgraded us to a brand new Mitsubishi outback sport with no added charges. We were very thankful and will continue to do business with fox whenever we are in the Florida area.
This is by far the worst rental experience I have ever had. This place is away from the airport in just about the sketchiest neighborhood I have ever been in. It took about an hour to get checked in. Then, magically, I was paying nearly triple the amount my reservation showed. Talk about bait and switch! It was super late at this point and I needed to get on the road with my family, so I didnβt fight it. I will NEVER use Fox again and I will warn everyone I know to stay as far away as possible.Even though Hertz looked like more up front, at least I know they donβt mysteriously start tacking in extra charges and your car is ready and waiting for you to pick up. I would have saved over $100 if I had just booked though Hertz.
Very disappointing! Waited almost 2 hours to get to counter just for them to tell me they had NO SUV or jeeps Regardless that I had booked and paid weeks ago. I paid for a SUV and got a small Camry. Also you are charged 2-3x more than rental amount in fees at counter. I spent 3x the original amount and didnβt get the right size car. Have called and texted to see if they now have a vehicle with no answers. I should have read and believed the review! Donβt rent from them. Never again with Fox rental!!!
This place is BS, I walked across the whole airport, finally arriving at the place where you wait for their shuttle. Waited 30 min for the driver to tell me we are closed come tomorrow and drove off like nothing when I had told him I had a reservation and I was waiting for the shuttle for the past 30 min!! Donβt waste your time ! TIME IS MONEY.
Booked a car from Fox through Priceline and paid in full prior to visiting. When I came to get the car they said there was an obligatory additional $25/day insurance charge for people with Florida drivers licenses, even though I have coverage through my credit card. Rude service, super shady business. Next time Ill gladly pay more for a reputable company.
Do not rent from this place. Horribly ran. This place isnt at the airport. I was told per their instruction to take a shuttle. Even though their recording say the Shuttle to them is 24 hrs. Its not. I arrived to them at 1:05. Was told I couldnt get a car, that I already paid for, because they closed at 1am. 5 min was too much for them. It was me and other passengers who was on the same flight. Outside told we couldnt get cars and that we had to come back at 5am.I booked this through priceline. It was apart of a bundle package. I never heard of Fox rental car. Went online to make this complaint saw they had 2 stars. Make sense.
Quick service and a clean car what else can you asked for. The guys got my husband and I a great car and save us money with the Sunpass for the tolls. If you driving down to Ocean drive or on the feeeway period you will need it. THANKS FOX
We rented a car from 3/28-4/2. We were worried after reading the reviews but decided to go in with a positive attitude. Mohammed was very professional and explained any of the extra fees. He also recommended fun activities and sightseeing for our family. The shuttle drivers were just as courteous. Would definitely rent from Fox again.
Be aware of additional βrequiredβ charges at pickup. They ask you to pay for insurance even if you already have one. The cost nearly doubled!!!
I am so dissatisfied in this company. We went through Priceline and it said $376.79 for the total we get there and they charged $1,100. Thankfully we got the $400 deposit back but I am so disappointed with this company. We waited over an hour just to see someone and when we were trying to figure the cost out the man that was helping us was giving us a complete attitude for no reason. They upgraded our car just to find out they charged more to us. We got a Jeep Wrangler and although it was nice it was dirty on the inside, smelled like dirty socks pretty much the whole time, and THE PASSENGER DOOR DIDNT WORK FROM THE OUTSIDE. The only way to open it was from the inside. First time renting a car and NEVER will again from this company. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
Aweful service. Promise a certain car then give to someone else...whats the point of reserving. One attendant, so youll be on your feet standing in line waiting for another 45 minutes after you get a cab for 12.00 to go to miles from are quickairport. If you end up here, dont be held hostage, go across street. Much better and they arr quick and at least have a drink and snack machine
Stay away from this company. Bunch of scammers. They charged us $500 over the price we had reserved & we had to wait half hr for the rental to get ready. The rental van was an old junk with low tire that we had to fix, not to mention the steering wheel shaking and wobbling sound. The office is away from the airport, save yourself time and money and stay away from fox rent a car.
We were told when we booked online through Expedia that the rental car would cost us $270 for 4 days.When we arrived at the airport, we realized that the rental was an off-sight rental even though we had booked for an at-the-airport rental place. We figured out we needed to take a shuttle to get to Fox Rent-A-Car, so we waited 20 minutes for a shuttle to take us.Then we waited in-person in the heat for 60 minutes to pick up our rental car. The line only had about 5 people ahead of us. The guy at the front told us it would end up being closer to $510 ($150 deposit put back afterwards). We did pay $45 extra for the SunPass, but even then the most we should have been charged once the deposit came back was $315. We also filled up the tank at the end and they charged us for a tank fill-up (did they not see the FULL gauge on the tank??). At the end of the day, we ended up being charged $345.And to make things worse, they told us when we asked about returning the car that shuttles start to run at 5:00am and we could just drop our car off and take the shuttle to the airport, and that it would be enough time to make our 6:50am flight. We got there at 5:00am and waited until 5:10am for an employee to show up. Once they did show up, they acted all annoyed and disgruntled that we were in a hurry (of course we were - we expected to be able to do a quick drop off and head to the airport and we expected them to be open when they said they open).When we finally returned our car, they said the shuttle would be there shortly. After waiting 10 minutes, we asked again and one of the employees rudely said that the shuttle was running late and maybe we should get a cab. A cab ended up pulling up for someone else right then and we were able to share that cab with two other people to the airport and make our flight.Fox did take $15 off the price of our car to pay for the cab, which I appreciate. Overall, however, the location is so far from the airport, in a sketchy area, the customer service was terrible, the wait was long, and the price did not match what we were originally told, so I would not recommend Fox Rent-A-Car to anyone.2 stars for a car that met our needs and for them giving us $15 back for the cab.
Charge more than expected. States that there is 24 hour service but that is NOT TRUE.Had to take our car back the day BEFORE our flight because they where not open like they said they where. Headquarters didnβt even know they had a drop off. We had to order our own Uber to get back to our house and to get to the airport the next morning even though we where promised free shuttle threw 24 hrs. Worst experience ever.

I returned it on 05/12/21 in the same conditions, I left a deposit of 500 dollars, they never returned it to me after they charged me 163 dollars more. and trying to communicate with you has been impossible. Would give 0 stars if I could. Didnβt have the car we requested on site, but that wasnβt even the worst part.They had NO cars. The same guy working the desk continuously left customers there to run outside to see if cars arrived so he could rent them out. This man fought with every single customer. He harassed a guy for βbeing late for pickup,β saying thatβs why they didnβt have cars.They told our family to call to request a refund. We find out 3 days later that they denied our refund despite them being the ones to tell us to call due to their lack of vehicles!Our travel was delayed and we had to rent from another company that same night. Unbelievable!Do NOT rent here

Mohammed at the sales desk was rude when I picked up my rental car. He was so rude I may never use Fox again. He gave me someone else receipt and when I came back he tried to, without looking at the receipt, tell me I was wrong. I watched his interactions with his co-workers he was also rude and disrespectful to them as well.
I wish there was an option for zero stars because that is what they would get. The business was absolutely filthy when we arrived. Waited in line for two hours while observing corbel customer service going on. Due to it being late and no other option for a rental car we stayed and ended up getting a rental car that I assume smelled so badly that they put the copious amount of freshener in it that gagged us. Only to try their customer service line for information the day before we were taking it back and weβre on hold for an hour just to get to a customer service representative where we were immediately disconnected. Would absolutely never use this company again and highly recommend no one else using it.
Now I remember why I cancelled last time. Got to the shuttle bus with three babies and as I walk up the guy shakes him finger no at me and shuts the door. No what? No information on how to even get to this shuttle or how often it passes. So I approached the door to ask when he would be back ? 10 mins? 1 hour? He got mad to open the door and tell me 10-15 minutes. No respect or customer service for a woman traveling alone with three babies. Treating their customers like farm animals.Wonβt be back.
Iβm not sure why there are so many complaints. I always use Fox when in South Florida . Probably 6-8 times a year. They are typically the least expensive, they have fairly nice vehicles, they are always polite, and I pay what I was quoted. Those complaining about the insurance add one and the like need to do research. Itβs your responsibility to figure out whether your insurance and credit card covers the vehicle or whether you need to purchase theirs.
Another non transparent rental car company. Expect your bill to be about double what you see at time of pick up.Update: after emailing the company they agreed to refund part of the additional charges. It could still be more clear at pick up when signing the papers.
I was charged twice for my rental- once from Priceline and again when I arrived at Fox with no explanation. They do not answer the phone and have not provided a receipt. I want a refund for the charges. The vehicle was paid for previously with Priceline!
