After a long while trying to figure out what was causing our Minnie to have Lesions on her body, after a day of blood test and results . We had an answer! It was Cushing’s disease .Now Minnie can be treated correctly. Dr. Ramos was very passionate and caring . Didn’t make us feel rushed . We will currently bring all of our dogs to VSGNO / Dr. Ramos if ever they have skin issues . Staff was friendly and caring .

I cannot say enough good things about VSGNO! The entire team is so dedicated and compassionate when it comes to our four legged family members. You can tell as soon as you walk into VSGNO that your pets are in good hands. Dr. Ramos has been treating my weimaraners Louis and Zoe for a little over a year now. Louis had a medium sized mast cell tumor located on his inner upper thigh. Dr. Ramos treated him with a new chemo injection which did the trick. Louis has been in remission for over 4 months now. Zoe suffers from an autoimmune disease called pemphigus which causes soars and lesions on her paw pads. Dr. Ramos passion and determination in finding the appropriate treatment has been the world to us. After some time, we believe we have found it and Zoe has been in remission for a few months now. We will continue to bring our pets here for any dermatology issues. Yes, they are on the expensive side, but youre getting what you pay for, high quality, reliable care for your pet. No price tag is too high for your loved one. Highly recommend VSGNO to anyone looking for a high quality, passionate dermatologist in the Louisiana area!

Dr. Ramos is a fantastic dermatologist. She has a world of training and experience that goes beyond most vets. She gave me so much information that I was able to make a very informed decision on treatment and spent as much time with me as needed for questions. She also knew from experience to ask questions that saved us unnecessary treatment, which was incredibly appreciated. She is a kind and extremely confident vet, and I dont say that easily having had some who were horrible over the years. Her staff followed up to see how my little guy was doing with the treatment that she prescribed and she got right back to me with a question that I had. I recommend her 1000%

Three months out! My baby was better off without surgery. I wanted to increase her quality of life running around instead I a dog in more pain. Do NOT agree to surgery with hardware and expect a better outcome and with NO pain medication post-op. NO pain medication and interactions with off label medication that required more useless treatment at SMAH. Get a second opinion from your vet!

I work in rescue and picked up a tiny little pup from the shelter who was supposed to be transported to rescue. We discovered she was a sick little girl and needed multiple surgeries. Because she was so tiny, our vet referred us to Veterinary Specialists of Greater New Orleans.Everyone was so amazing and compassionate. Her surgeries were a complete success and Minnie has remained as a part of our family. Because of the incredible work they did, she is a very happy and healthy little girl who continues to thrive.I could never thank them enough.

Dr. Mauterer is the best surgeon and has mentored some of the best surgeons. He is not only skilled but compassionate with owners and pets. Consider this an expert opinion because Im a veterinarian as well. When he is not hard at work in surgery he is teaching and heading up charity projects from home to all around the world.

Theyre the best in the Greater New Orleans area, and theres not a close second. Dr. John Mauterer performed TPLO surgeries on both my English Bulldog Franks knees at the same time, and his recovery has been fantastic! He literally walked out of the office afterwards. Of course he had the typical recovery time, but since then hes been back to 100% of what he was, its remarkable! Dr. Mauterer and his staff were extremely compassionate and caring at all times for my dog who is more like a child to my wife and I. They constantly checked in on how he was doing, frequently asking me to bring him in if he had any issues or complications, and were legitimately excited to see him every time I brought him in. My wife and I cannot express our gratitude and thanks enough. Its extremely comforting to know that we have specialists in this area with this level of skill and compassion for animals. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for getting our furry son back to normal again!

Yesterday afternoon I was in tears thinking my cat was going to definitely die but The Cat Practice Dr. Cousins on Magazine, after x-rays, realized he needed surgery right away. He sent me to Dr. Julia Coutin at Veterinary Specialists at 1937 Vets Blvd and he was operated on late in the afternoon. They called me when he was going into surgery, they called me after the operation and they corrected what I was told was inoperable AND the herniation caused by the inoperable problem. These folks in both these places are amazingly caring and more than competent. My cat who is such a lovely guy is now going to have a lot more years of health and happiness and so will I. I cant recommend everyone enough. All the staff, the doctors and the speed with which they took Winston in and made his life longer. Thank you, Drs. Cousins and Dr. Coutin and everyone at The Cat Practice and at Veterinary Specialists.
