The front desk staff immediately welcomed me into the store and professionally inquired how they could help me. The glass repair technicians took me out back to view the new windshield before they installed it due to it having a couple of very small permanent smudges on the outside surface and offered to overnight order a brand new windshield with no cost to me if I chose. The couches in the lobby were comfortable and the atmosphere was very relaxing while we waited for our repair to be completed. My teenage daughter even had a great nap while we waited. I would MOST DEFINITELY use Portland Glass of Bangor again and again for ALL of my glass needs! They are a must have in your address book or rolodex! :)

This is my first time here, great customer service

Portland Glass of Bangor, Maine did a nice job, a very fast job, getting us a simple but perfect sliding glass shower door for our newly installed shower. It has obscured glass and the tried &true track system for the framed glass panels. The fellow came to my home to measure within 18 hours of my call for an estimate. Got the quote Oct 6 and placed order. Installation on Oct 26 despite extremely busy fabricators and slowed shipping. I had priced similar OTC doors at local hardware stores but no one had them in stock. I could have installed it myself as I did in the past but I gave myself a break and hired professionals. For the roughly $150 I spent on installation (over the cost of the materials) I didn’t have to fret over an order I would have to transport myself, I did get a warranty, a great shower door and a weekend not spent goofing up the new shower with my messy caulking technique. It’s a relief to walk in there and see how nice it looks and not have to wince at the mistakes I’d have probably made. Go with the pros, you will be glad you did.

Very expensive and a long time to get my window back

Very helpful in figuring out what I needed to replace some older single pane glass with some sealed double pane panels. Only negative was the lead time for custom glass was 3 weeks, but I was told this from the very beginning so not a surprise.

Portland glass helped us make custom windows for our box bay window in the front of our home. They did a beautiful job making the windows, talking about the design with me, measuring etc. the installation was quick and easy, even tho we tested positive for lead. My only complaints were that u wish they kept me more updated on the progress of the window making. I felt like I had to be persistent. I also wish they wore boot covers when entering our home. They got my new rug all dirty and my floors were filthy when they left. I have two babies do that is super important to me. I would highly recommend them to someone!

It took well over 3 weeks for 2 small pieces of glass for 2 cabinet doors. I was told when ordering 7-10 business days. Whenever I called to check on the order all staff could do was complain about how busy their automotive department was and they would get to it when they could. Also, the timeline for the ordering changed to 3 weeks because of their vendor. The ordering process was a little shady as the person at the desk just wrote down my name and number on a piece of paper and gave me nothing, no receipt or anything. Just unprofessional. I wont use them again. Please note we used the Westbrook store, and after 4 calls and an email, no action has been taken to expedite my order.
