Had a wonderful time on the water with friends for my birthday! We got a large 12 person pontoon and loved it! Easy parking and walking to the boat. Everything was clean and easy to use. Make sure to bring your own speaker. Only thing that would have made it better is if they allowed dogs to come. My pup loves the water.
I take my dad all the time to saguaro for fishing and I love the people if you know the hours they are open and know that they stop renting at 3:15 you shouldn’t have an issue, like all businesses they got rules and stipulations but compared to most businesses they are lenient for instance no cancellation fees. The view is beautiful and best time in my opinion is February. The prices are reasonable.
I rented a 20 ft pontoon boat at canyon lake and had a great time. I was a little scared at first because of the reviews, but we honestly had such a smooth time and so much fun.I called to make the reservation the day before, it was super easy. The phone rang a few times but I didnt have to wait too long. They took my info and card info over the phone and explained when to pick up.Pick up of the boat was quick and easy, the longest part was probably signing the contract. They explained the rules multiple times and did a thorough job explaining the rules and how to work the boat. The boat was in good condition and came with life jackets. The gas was full and everything was in good condition. We honestly had so much fun boating and fishing even if we didnt catch anything. We cant wait to plan our next return trip. The cost also was super affordable.
I was apprehensive because of reviews left about this business. We rented a 20’ pontoon anyway. The day was perfect. The guy at the counter explained deposit and cost as well as taking his time going over the contract. We did the inspection on the boat and were shown how to operate. We spent a day on the lake, brought the boat back with no issues and were very pleased with the overall experience. The deposit on the card was refunded and the correct charge wasPlaced on the card. Rates were reasonable and we would rent again. Thanks!
Ive had my boat for about 15 years now. At first I took it for service at a couple shops in Glendale, but I learned that I can get better, faster and more honest service at lake saguaro! Who would have ever thought the lake would be less exand higher quality than in town? Brad is awesome! Several times hes helped me fix dumb things like a missing pin or screw, but they are always willing to help!
FRAUDS!!!They told me that there would be a $500 deposit that would be refunded to my account. They charged me $900 and REFUSE to give me my receipt and continue to hang up on me when I call and keep telling me that the Manager will call me, but the manager has not called. This is a fraudulent charge on my account. I should have only been charged $400 and tax. They also never gave me back my credit card, which I had to cancel. I called to see if they had my credit card and they lost it.SAVE your money, they will overcharge you. I have never worked with such a shady company.
Beware even if you put scratch on the prop when you rent a boat from them they will try to charge you. I have own boats before, but this is just trash. You think normal wear wont happen. You want charge $400 bucks a day and then say there scratch on the prop and charge you another $200 on top. This why take copy your cc and Id so they can charge you what ever you want after that. So beware and if you decide risk it bring spray paint.
We rented in January and had a wonderful time the people were very professional and the equipment was flawless.
Weve rented a pontoon from Precision Marine twice. Both times weve had great experiences with the people who work there. They are always polite and helpful! Today they were very efficient at the checkout and outside with the boat. We had a wonderful time! The boat was perfect! It ran well and very clean! Thank you Precision Marine!
My friends and I rented a pontoon boat at Canyon Lake. Smooth experience and the boat was in great shape! Craig helped us out with everything. Highly recommend!
Customer service??? What a operation. Hey you know why business fails??? You will find out..do yourself a favor dont rent here
The boat rental was easy and the people were friendly and service was fast. They also ensure the boat are clean and sanitized I love the experience overall
Drove 2 hours from Tucson to come kayak here with my brother and sister, arrived at 3:26pm, and was told by a middle aged woman working in the rental shop that we were past the time to rent, and that it would take too long to set up the kayaks for us. No where does it say there is a time to RENT by, and we believe we were turned away by her not wanting to be bothered with setting up a few kayaks. It was a waste of a day for us and was severely disappointing. Lake Pleasant has much better service and employees. Listen to these reviews, theres a reason Precision Marine only has 2.6 stars.
Have tried calling so many times for the saguro lake location to make a reservation and no one ever answers. Voicemail is full so I cant even give my info and receive a call back. The only one I was able to get an answer from was canyon lake, so thats why I rated it a 3. The guy helped me was very nice and explained everything. Answered every question I had. So the canyon lake precision marine.
Took my son fishing for his 10th birthday. Fishing wasn’t the best so we decided to rent a boat at Saguaro Lake. Unfortunately, 30 min into the rental the boat broke down. Some nice folks towed me partly back in (can’t thank them enough! Wonderful people) once I called them they sent someone out and fixed the issue. Headed back to the Marina and paid $60 to rent a boat that broke down. If it were my business I would have waived all charges (the gas needle didn’t even move) and hope to get a repeat customer, I’ve been here before and rented. But now instead I’ll never come back and tell everyone my story. Oh well...
We rented a two-person kayak at Canyon Lake a couple months ago. We had called in the morning to see if we could reserve and were informed we could not, nor could the staff guarantee kayaks would be available, however we decided to risk it and drove out. We arrived sometime shortly around 10:30 and were easily able to secure a kayak. Parking at that time was already quite full, so we felt fortunate to find a spot. The staff were helpful and professional and we were quickly off to explore, having been given some very useful hints about areas of the lake to check out by one of the staff. We ended up spending about 3 hours exploring on a beautiful warm day. It was clear that business picked up as the day went on - by the time we turned in our kayak, there were a number of families waiting and trying to figure out how to get out on the water as quickly as possible, given the random nature of the boats being turned back in. We had a fabulous time on the beautiful lake. Fellow kayakers were friendly and everyone was respectful of keeping distance. Motor boatists were attentive and careful of other craft. A great day!
We have been taking our boats to Precision Marine at Saguaro Lake since 1998. These visits have been for both regular service and repairs. During this time, weve experienced great service and attention to detail. We’ve used other marinas in the past and did not receiving the same level of care and service that we receive at Precision Marine. Paul, Brenda, Brad and Jeff have always taken great care of us and have gone above and beyond to make sure our service or maintenance seeds were met. I would recommend, and have recommended Precision Marine to my friends.
Beautiful lake. The guys renting boats are probably great mechanics but terrible at dealing with the public. Need someone to run the rental desk with good public skills. We would rent again but the whole experience would be better without bad attitudes at the start and finish of the trip.
Greg and Andy went above and beyond! Inexpensive rates, flexible returns, and the boat ran great!
These guys are awesome. Thanks to Chris and his teamwork.
Do you guys ever answer the phone??? Tried calling for days and never an answer. So ridiculous that I cant get a hold of anybody. Called the restaurant to see why they dont answer the phone and there response was that they typically do that, you just have to keep trying. When it comes to renting or getting into contact with them you may as well find some other spot to rent at cause there customer service is terrible.
Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and kayak rental outfit! Upon arrival the rep was completing paperwork, when he finished, he didnt look up to make any sort of eye contact. Yet, while in the middle of our transaction, another person walked in & they were assisted directly & with eye contact; it was as if to dismiss our presence. After completing our rental paperwork, we were shown to the dock where the kayak was placed in the water many feet below the level of the deck without any kind of assistance holding the kayak or a slip to launch from. I nearly dislocated my arm trying to hold onto the dock & the kayak while getting in. Additionally, the dock itself was so hot, I actually did burn my hands & knees in the process of loading/unloading the kayak. The condition of the kayak was deplorable. The rental did not include the use of dry bags. The kayak did not have any bungees to secure gear with & no attachments to secure gear to even with my own bungees. The paddles were two piece with a pin in the middle & had too much wobble in them making paddling/steering extremely difficult.Canyon Lake is great! But if you have to rent kayaks, get your kayaks someplace else & save yourself the hassle. Or go to Lake Pleasant - their kayak rentals are spot on.
Wish had an option for NO stars. Had an awful first (and LAST!) time experience renting a pontoon boat with my family (with younger children). There were no clear information in regards to places to avoid. They had no maps or any sort of guide to let us know that there are several areas of potential hazardous rocky places (shallow water). You are on your own out there… unless you have someone with you who had experienced riding on a boat around the Canyon Lake remote areas. Noticed that the bigger boats (faster ones) had gone there, so we wanted to explore the remote areas around the canyon as well. Had to pay for an extra hour of boat rental due to a slow, but functional; broken propeller. Everyone was safe, but it left a bitter taste on our “dreamed boat ride”. Unfortunately, there are no markings on areas of shallow water where we were cruising along. They don’t tell you (and expect you to pay for a new propeller!) where those rocky areas are. Be wise! Be prepared to pay a hefty price for a propeller replacement, or invest on your own “boat GPS” that could survey the area before you go! Better safe than sorry!
I don’t know why people are saying the customer service was horrible. The service we received was great. The two young men were helpful and answered all of our questions. We rented a run about which was clean and worked just fine for us.
Heads up: they do not rent kayaks at their Saguro Lake Marina location. Only motor boats.
They keep your card info and charge it saying it was a new employee when they get caught.Brenda the manager was so messed up on pills and morphine patches she couldnt even walk straight, or was that the beer ?
My family and I rented 2 boats for Fathers Day, we had the best experience. We are amateur boaters (if thats a word) but it was easy to use and the employees explained everything we needed to know. John was awesome as were all the employees. Thanx for helping make Fathers Day memorable for my husband and the rest of our family.
There is really nothing else that needs to be said except for extremely rude rental staff. Also their website doesn’t say it, but you must be 21 to rent a kayak... a KAYAK. Not a boat with a motor, but a little plastic boat that goes only as fast as you can paddle it, and no you cannot have someone who is 21 sign for you (therefore taking responsibility for the liability), unless they are coming with you. The location is beautiful and rules are rules, but the least you could do is apologize or look us in the eyes or treat us like humans. I don’t know, maybe that’s asking for too much.
Operating a boat is my absolute favorite activity. And saguro lake is a great place to spend a day enjoying an open bow boat.
Their gas pumps are rigged totally jumped for 10 bucks to 12 Dollars. Be careful when you rent with here it’s a scam!
Website indicates that reservations for boat rentals need to be made at least 24-hours in advance. No one answers the phone, and the mailbox is full so you cant leave a message. There is no way to reserve online. Terrible customer service. If only there were a way to give this place zero stars....
We had a great experience renting kayaks and exploring canyon lake. The views are beautiful and the service was very helpful.
Amazing lake!
The employees are dirty and do not know what theyre talking about. Upon instruction of boat rental the person started the boat without the propeller in the water and did not know what he was instructing. Upon returning our pontoon after a careful day on the water the employees flocked to our boat to state the propeller was damaged for an extra fee of $95 although we never hit anything in the water and were very cautious. These guys make $10.50 an hour and are looking for a quick payout by charging people extra. As the poor reviews and outdated website suggest this is not a place to do any kind of business with unless you want to be taken advantage of. Its too bad dirty people have to do dirty things for an extra dollar.
Upon arrival to te establishment the employee that was supposed to teach us how to operate the boat didn’t know what he was taking about. He turned the propeller on above that water, which is something you are not supposed to so. After a joyful day on the lake, being very careful, the employees immediately went to the propeller and said it was damaged. After asking why they know they said they inspected it before we left. After asking if they took any pictures they said no they just know, even though it wasn’t the same employees that pushed us off. After confronting the employees they said “aren’t you the one that drive (insert vehicle here)I will tell the sherif that you are drunk and get you pulled over”. To which I replied I didn’t drive. He then replied we have our ways. I would not recommend renting anything from this company. I would rather buy my own boat and take it out in the lake as opposed to dealing with this untrustworthy staff. If i coins give them negative stars I would!!!
Rented a canoe and did not get my deposit back like i was told...
The guy at the front desk was learning but very gracious, we (3 old ladies) took out a roundabout had a wonderful day swimming and exploring... Well do it again.
Rented a pontoon boat today. Staff was super helpful, courteous and we had an amazing time!
Top notch service and great experience at Precision Marine. We rented a 12 person Pontoon boat for my daughters Sweet 16 birthday and everyone had a blast.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!. This company placed a hold on double the amount of the posted deposit, and refused to release it. Employees reeked of pot, great for families with small children. And, best of all admitted after the fact that they had knowingly neglected to inform us of dangerous areas in the lake that would damage the boat; their finishing remark was yeah that keeps happening, youre the 4th person just today that had this happen. So, they knowingly direct you to safe areas of the lake, only to after the fact inform you that those areas cause damage to the boat that they can profit from. And the most reprehensible part of their operation is that they claim the charge is around $300. and then pull $1000 from your card, and since they have your card info there is little you can do to stop them. the management and owners are rude and belligerent, and make no attempt to amend the situation or compromise.Once Again, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. This company turns what should be fun on the lake into a nightmare experience.
Be Careful with this marina. They will let you reserve a boat and when you get there, they will gave already given it away. Never mind that they took your credit card. Their policy is get there by 9AM or else they give it away. I Dont try any sort of logic with this group of clowns. They dont give a d_amn about you. After all, their boat was rented.
Great experience every time
Showed up at the Canyon Lake Prcision Marina store to pick up a boat on the 4th ofJuly for my family and a few friends. According to the attendant, there was no record of the reservation. I explained that there must have been a mix up and that the reservation was changed a couple of days ago from Apache lake to Canyon Lake. The precision marine location for some reason didnt transfer the reservation after they assured me they did. The attendant after being very combative with two other customers, told me I was SOL and would have to wait to see if there were and no shows. I asked him to call the other location as I was confident they had documented my reservation. He wouldnt do anything to help me. He just told me to be quiet and there was no options. I got mad at him and he began to threaten me with his little manager complex, telling me that he may not rent me a boat at all. When people make plans and are spending 500 for a days rental, you would expect that a company goes over and above to ensure your happy. Not this obnoxious attendant at Canyon Lake. This guy should never, ever be put in a customer facing position. I will make sure I never rent from these guys again.
Had my tilt motor on the outdrive lock in the down position so I couldnt get my boat out of the water. It was 30 minutes before the massive monsoon storm on 7/9/2018. Ran to the boat repair and had to ask 6 people for help before I found the elusive Rob, who runs the shop. Told him my problem, and that is was bad because my wife and two small kids were waiting. He looked at me with a blank look and said, better lash it down. I begged for someone to advise me what I needed to do so I could get it out of the water to safety. Again the blank stare and no response. I had to drag the boat out of the water with the outdrive down in the middle of the thrashing storm with my kids crying in the back of the truck. And when I went back again after the storm to now bring the boat over and get the outdrive up, a guy in a cart informed me that everyone left when the storm came even though it was only 4 p.m. and they close at 5. This place and the Rob who runs it, are the worst! This line about, its not our responsibility from the robotic owner says everything about this place. Their reply came months after the original posting and right before prime boating season. Avoid at all costs.
I literally cried in the office, it was that bad.Ive rented from Precision Marine before. Got a good boat. No issues. However this last time I rented a pontoon, the experience was shockingly different and extremely disappointing. Id buy a boat before Id ever rent from them again. Heres the story...Upon signing the contract, we were warned that we must have the boat back by 4:30pm sharp or there would be a late fee. Fair enough. We hopped in our boat and took off. I noticed that the motor was a little funky. Im not a boat expert but Ive rented from them before so I could tell the difference. When I tried to increase the throttle, sometimes the boat would speed up and sometimes it would just make lots of noise.Anyways, it was my friends birthday and we just wanted to cruise around and swim. We werent out there to race around the lake like speed demons so I wasnt too concerned. Had I known how much trouble this misjudgment would cause, I would have went back immediately.Anyways, we spent majority of our day docked at a public dock off Saguaro Lake where we swam and picnicked. At 3:50pm, we got back in the boat and set off by 4pm. 30 minutes to return and were, at best, 4 or 5 miles away. Shouldnt be a problem.Wow, did that boat motor take a turn for the worst. At full throttle, it took us 45 minutes to get back. By 4:30pm, we had a search & rescue boat from Precision Marine following us. The man driving the boat even drove up next to us and waved at me as if to say hurry up. At which point I yelled, this is as fast as it will go! I was maybe going 7 miles an hour, and even that is generous. PS. none of the gauges worked so thats why Im doing the math. The whole time Im thinking, they wont charge me the late fee, this isnt my fault. The motor is clearly struggling and were lucky it even worked enough at that point to get us back to the office.Nope. The employee back at the office said the owner called him and told him that he MUST charge me the late fee, no exceptions. I calmly tried to explain myself and about the motor breaking down and us struggling to get back and he said I needed to pay and get off the dock before he called the sheriff. Cue tears. I was not yelling or doing anything to warrant that kind of response. Once I started crying from the build up of emotion that came with struggling to get the boat back in 120 degree weather, being told I would be charged a $135 late fee for being 15 minutes late when it wasnt my fault, then having an employee threaten to call the sheriff because I tried to explain myself, the employee apologized and said he wished he could do something and he was heartbroken for having to charge me. He tells me hes just an hourly employee and he has to do what his owner says. He promises me that he works the next day and he will personally see to it that the boat is taken out for some kind of inspection and if there really is an issue, they will refund me the late fee. Great. Thats all I wanted. There was no doubt in my mind that there was something wrong, that they would see that and like good, level-headed people, they would refund me the late fee and I would continue to go back there for years to come. He told me to call them back the next day at noon. And, the story proceeds to get worse.First call: owner isnt in, they need to take a message. Second call (2 days later since she never returned my call): no one at the Saguaro office is picking up, Canyon Lake employee tells me to call back later. Third call: everyone is out of the office until Thursday (4 days from now). Hmmmm... says their open 7 days a week online. Now, Im sure theyre just giving me the run around. I flat out ask the employee if the owner will actually call me back and he says to be honest, I dont know.Im literally dumbfounded. Ive always been an easy going, will accept the faulty boat, happily eat a messed up food order, never even written a review-type person. But, every part of this experience is beyond messed up. Dont rent from Precision!
Repaired the boat very quickly thank you five stars by me
I would give it no stars if I could. Worst customer service ever...
Best Repair Service Ever.
Ridiculous overcharge for returning a non-motorized boat 6 minutes late. DONT RENT FROM THIS MARINA IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!
The employees were not helpful and did not want to answer any of my questions.
Extremely rude worst management Ive ever seen
