This staff is THE BEST and the owners care and do a great job! Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I just had my first pool installed and I’m definitely a novice. The staff here got me everything I needed and walked me through how to do everything. Matt in particular is a rock star and truly cares about the customer! Nowhere else to go for my pool needs!
First, is this a daycare or pool supply company? Second, the folks at Aqua-Rite in the Publix plaza down the road, or any Leslies store honestly, are just plain nicer. If you dont want bottled chemicals (that you are selling) placed on your check out counters, put a large, clear sign on the countertop. Many people would assume you need to scan the barcode, hence placing them on the counter. The curt attitude is unnecessary.
The staff here is very very helpful. They try very hard to satisfy. They will answer any question you have about pools. I moved away and still drive to this specific store because of the staff.
It’s convenient but expensive. Don’t know if there’s a lot of staff turnover, but they’re not particularly helpful and lack much knowledge.
Ive been loyal to Pinch a Penny for 20 yrs. They have always been courteous, very helpful and have always answered my questions with patience. I wouldnt think of going anywhere else for my pool supplies and reasonably inexpensive repairs. A real family Business and everyone there treats you like family!
Very knowledgeable and courteous. Very clean store and numerous products.
UPDATE: I asked for someone to come out before ending the call. Daniel said no. His reason being pinch a penny did nothing wrong. Your response is deceptive and still does not resolve the problem.Do not patronize. Run, and quickly, away from this Pinch A Penny location. I have received nothing short of extremely poor customer service interactions from the management and repair technician at the Suntree location. After an installation, Daniel (whom I presume to be management) became hostile on the phone about the damaged controller that was installed. I requested that the damaged controller be switched with the new controller I have on hand. He continued to make excuses and talk over me. I hung up the phone because I was overwhelmed by his disrespectful tone and attitude. There was no resolution. Moreover, Carlos (the technician) has been to my property twice. The first time, he essentially stated he didnt know much about our Jandy operating system but still charged us the call out fee to diagnose a problem that he didnt understand and could not fix. His second visit was to install the controller. My husband had questions for him but he rushed through installing the controller and left without talking to my husband about any of the equipment. The workers in the store seem great and helpful. Sadly, management has a nasty attitude and would prefer to argue on the phone over making a situation right for a customer. Were highly disappointed. Unfortunately, this situation has soured me on Pinch A Penny in general.
Easy way to maintain your spa. They analyze your water and tell you what to do.
Great service experience with Matt!!Pinch a penny thanks for having very knowledgeable employees like Matt!!
Great Pool Service company! Weekly service is done efficiently and without fail. They always have kept our pool sparkling clean for many years. They even program our pool pump when needed.
Extremely Inflated prices! You can get almost everything much cheaper online, and delivered to your door. They wanted over $100 for filter that I purchased online for less than $40.The owners seem proud about not wearing face masks to protect their older customers.
Quick service and they are open on Sunday!
Stay away from this location. You will have a better customer experience at one of the other franchised locations.
They are fantastic great help especially when you know nothing about your pool.
Go to the one on Lake Washington. The one on North Wickham, I was told one thing when I paid for work to be performed. I did not want the work perform when I found out that it did not include certain things. I was misled so I said stop everything, dont even start. At the time I had my conversation no work had been started. Id already paid like an idiot. I was told they would do something to make sure all work was done like it was supposed to be. I said if it cant be, then I dont want it done. I was assured everything would be as it should be. It was not. Again, I said dont touch anything if it cannot be completed 100%. They went ahead and touch my items. I arrived home from work and they had done what they said they could only do. And left me in a bind. I would have gotten a refund and going with someone else if they had not started my project. I do believe this is why they did that so I could not get a refund. Because technically I have their equipment. I will make a trip to Lake Washington to get any items I need and have done so.
Mega Kudos to Pinch-a-Penny! These guys talked me through removing and replacing my pool pump motor. They saved me about $125-$150 on having it done by someone else. They were helpful while I was taking it apart, on the phone, and while there. They were quick and knowledgeable. My go-to folks for all things pool related.
I take my pool water to test weekly to the one at Wickham. They are nice and courteous. I can find the honest advise if any adjustments is needed. They do not try to sell something; rather, they ensure right thing is done. Happy to do business with them.
Always want to shop local but when you’re consistently treated like your business isn’t needed, it changes. Being the only game in town, they make up astonomical prices on everything. Obviously, we expect to pay more at a local business (supporting local is so important to us) but not as absurdly high as they are charging. Researching products online only to realize they’re a fraction of the price... it really makes you walk away with a bad taste in your mouth. They’re clearly insecure when it comes to their prices so when you ask about it, expect to hear a snarky reply. It’s too bad, the workers are very helpful... the owner and his son are indifferent about their clientele. They lost three homes in our family now.
You will not find a more professional or nicer staff in the pool industry. Recently installed pool automation system is great!
The new owners here are awesome! They really helped me out in selecting a great salt/chlorinating generator system. He even called me at home the next day to inform me that there was a $50 rebate form I could fill out if I came back to the store. And now they are even opened on Sundays! Great place!
Stay away from this place. They are crooks.I brought my pool cleaner in to be warrantied because it was not working correctly (pentair rebel bought at pinch a penny may 2017). Dan told me there’s nothing wrong with it so I went back home and hooked it up and it still wasn’t working. Just spinning in circles. I took it back in and told him there is something wrong with it. He was extremely rude and told me he works on these everyday and that it’s perfect and that I must have a clog in my system that’s affecting the suction power. So they said they could send Carlos out to blow out the lines and that should fix it. Carlos came out and blew out the lines and told me there was nothing in the lines and that he saw the pool cleaner and said here’s something wrong with it. I told him I’ve taken it in twice and they said it’s perfect. He said no there’s is definitely something wrong with your pool cleaner. So he took it back to the store with him to get repaired. They fixed it and Daniel brought it back and said they didn’t see that one of the gears was worn when they looked at it the 2 times before and that was the problem. He hooked it up and it started working perfectly. Then Frank (the owner) calls me and said I owe them $158 for the house call to blow out my lines and that Carlos replaced parts on my pump. I asked why am I being charged? I never authorized anything other than the lines being blown out. And I only authorized that because after two times of bringing my cleaner in he told me the cleaner isn’t the problem it’s my system. But we know now that it was in fact the cleaner like I said to begin with. Frank was also extremely rude when I was asking him about the charges and said “here’s what we’re going to do, we’re going to put this in the system as refusal to pay bill and you’re going to leave and never come back”. I asked if this will go to collections and he said “we will send it to who we need to send it to.” The entire time I have been very polite, but concerned, never raised my voice or talked with any form of disrespect. I feel like they are taking advantage of me and instead of fixing my warrantied cleaner for free, like I asked, they blamed it on my system and then came and “fixed” my system, that was never broken, and then told me it was my cleaner that was broke. And then they sent me a bill for $158 for work that never should have been done if they would have listened to me and correctly diagnosed my cleaner the two times i brought it in.
Nice clean store all employees go above and beyond to make sure customers are happy they also have great pool service
I have had Pinch a Pennys pool care service for the past 5 months. Everything was fine until the last 3 weeks when our pool guy became a no-show. We contacted the office to inquire about this and the fact that they began debiting our account more than what was originally contracted. The company indicated that the pool guy had, in fact, been to our home, because he said that he had. Customarily, they leave a receipt of the services they provided with the date they provided the service at the home. Which of course had been the case except for the last 3 weeks. The supervisor was rude and condescending and refused to reimburse us for the amount charged. After we adamantly informed that the pool guy had not been to the home in the stated time, he hung up. They were completely unprofessional, rude and do not understand the common core of the customer is always right. Very disappointed!
Dan and the entire staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Cant say enough about the quality service I always get from water issues to pool repairs. Highly recommended!
A very good owner who runs a very good store. The owner and service folks are honest and helpful. They are always straight fort and you can trust them.
The store is good but had a bad experience with their weekly pool service. They were always reacting versus staying on top of any issues. Never again but I’ll go back in for pool tests and chemicals.
Nice guys working to help w your pool needs. Price is high on filters.
Pretty knowledgeable about pool issues (better than the Pinch a Penny farther south on Wickham). Customer service is very good and we are now absentee landlords of our Melbourne property and they service the pool. We have had no issues and are happy with them.
Their staff is great. Dan treats everyone with great knowledge and customer service. They never try to upsell products to you.
Helpful staff. Thank you !
Ordered a part almost 2 weeks ago. I stated to them that my pool could not run without this expensive part. Was told it would be in 3 days later. Called 5 days later and was told they would check on it and call back. Called on day 6 told same thing. Day 7 Same thing and that I would have to wait till Tuesday since Monday was a holiday to get answers. Needless to say its Wednesday and I still have not heard from them. My pool filter has not run for almost 2 weeks so not only do I have to purchase this expensive part but also spend extra money on extra chemicals. Thanks Pinch a Penny.
