They send out an email to all customers trying to get us to go give positive reviews but let me tell you, they are terrible. Although mildly responsive, they decline coverage for every little thing. They wanted me to get A/C inspected for coverage, so I did and it cost me $400 for an inspection plus $1200 for a home warranty. Well that is $1600 because we have multiple a/c units. Then, when the thing fails they didnt want to cover anything. If you want this onslaught of bad reviews from all these people to stop, perhaps try actually providing coverage. There should be a class action lawsuit against this company. It is always declining coverage for every little loop hole it can find! Then asking customers for reviews that are good or providing an alternate link to contact them if the review is bad is completely assinine. I did not use my real name in this review because I fear retaliation of not covering issues from future repairs but they probably wont cover them anyway. They will not be renewed and I will instruct my card company to decline any renewal because other people have had problems with them charging them even when they cancel. Good riddance to this company soon!
Tried to use them to fix a issue on the home, only to be told no, no and no. Instead learned that there is a 30-Day Grace Period to use there services and only then I would be allowed to get help. I have never heard of any company not allowing paying customers to use their services right away. Not to mention I was never told that if you request help within the 30-Days and they can’t help you, they can’t delete the request and instead they make you pay out of pocket. Not willing to help and not professional at all. STAY AWAY!
I had to have my AC and Heater replaced, they covered nothing. I did not want to renew my 1 year contract. They charged me again for another 1 year contract that I did not agree to or authorize. They stopped communicating with me once I requested them to refund and cancel the contract. Had to go through and dispute it with my bank and still nothing from them. Do not use this company they wont help when you need repairs and will charge you after you request to not renew.If you see attached they want to say I dont have an account but :) Just be aware.
Best home warranty company. I have used several home warranty services and they are best. They allow you to choose your own service people and reimburse you for the cost less the deductible. You dont need to contact them. Just submit the receipt after the work. Very convenient. They also sometimes reimburse you for an uncovered cost as courtesy. Im very satisfied with the company and would highly recommend them.
Purchased the warranty and then read the fine print and it is not worth the paper it is printed on. Asked and directed to cancel next day and not the first response to date, 14 days later thus, went to the CC and refused the charge as fraud. Careful
We purchased our home May 2008. We are the original owners.With the exception of 2020 (Covid-19), we have had our HVAC system inspected every year since 2015. Our HVAC system worked perfectly until it didnt!With that stated: Dont waste your money and time with AFCHC. I purchased the Platinum package over a year ago. My HVAC system went out, contacted AFCHC only to learn I would be given $200 toward the repair or the same amount for a new unit. Mind you the repair for my unit was estimated to be $2200.The calculated deception used was mind numbing. I spent 2+ hours on the phone, I have a call scheduled with the Division Head to discuss my issues and my refund.Take your money, put into a savings account, use it to pay for your items you think AFCHC would cover.Youll thank me later.
They were very professional. My refrigerator broke and due to Covid was having trouble finding someone to service it. AFC went above and beyond and contacted the manufacturer to have a service man come out and fix it.
I left American Home Shield for this warranty company and they are no better. Wouldn’t pay to fix or replace commode due to it being “cracked”. Then hot water heater needed replaced cost me 1200.00 of which the company paid a measly 200.00. ( after the years of depreciation). And I haven’t received that and it’s been 6 weeks.
We have not had to use the warranty company yet, as we just became their customer today! But Zack Myers has been very professional and has took a good amount of time over the last 4 days (even on the weekend) to stay in contact with me and answer all of our questions! I am very pleased with his customer service and am hoping to give great reviews in the future if we ever have to use the warranty! Thank you Zack for all you have done this far!
The representative on the phone today was VERY nice and helpful. I am just upset with how I had to do all the running around to get this claim handled. A manager, Jason, informed me that I would need to get a letter in writing from GE stating the refrigerator was not under warranty, which I did after MUCH hassle and waiting on hold twice for over two hours each time. Then I submitted the letter and receipt for the repair and got several emails from AFC stating that a rep would call me regarding the resolution, which they never did. So I called today to find out the resolution for myself and the rep originally told me the same thing that was told to me before I did all the work, which was that it was that the repair would not be covered because the refrigerator was under warranty, which is was not. When I informed her to take a look back at my documentation, she found the letter and put me on hold so she could again talk to the resolution dept. When she came back, she told me I would be getting a check for the repair minus the $75 service fee, which I was thankful for. I am pretty aggressive at fighting for something that I think is fair, which is why I did all the work I did. It just makes me upset that I had to do that and that I have had to do this with almost every claim I put threw AFC. I tried to cancel the policies because of this issue but when I realized I was only going to get a fraction back minus the repairs AFC had paid out, I decided to keep my two policies. I most likely will not be renewing once they are up though. I hope your company can be more user friendly for their clients. Thank you for listening.
Worst experience with a home warranty company Ever! Do not buy a warranty from this company. I’ve used different home warranty companies for over 15years and this is by far The Worst. They DO NOT have the service providers necessary to fulfill their contracts — it took them 8 days to find and send an HVAC contractor for a totally broken AC in the middle of summer. I’ve never waited more than 48 hours for any other warranty company to send a contractor for a critical home system. Their Service Manager (Jason) is rude and could care less about their customers. There is no support or escalation process when a local dispatcher can’t find a contractor - they just tell you to go find your own and ‘maybe’ they will reimburse you something. We waited 8 days for their contractor only to be told there is a clause in our contract that means they will only pay $200 of a $7,000 repair. And only if we send them a years worth of preventative maintenance invoices. At this point, after all the time spent on calls trying to get them to fulfill the contract and send help — they should be paying me. They can keep their $200. But I will be sure to let people know everywhere I can, what an awful company this is to do business with.
I switched from American Home Shield to Americas First, because AHS upped my monthly fee by 30% out of the blue. But over the last 5 years that Ive used Home Shield, they at least covered all the claims I put in, and I put in probably a dozen. Since switching to Americas First just over 4 months ago, I have put in 3 claims, and theyve all been rejected. Im not sure what Im paying for if they wont cover broken systems. Most recently, my home AC had a leaking valve causing the freon to leak out. That particular part isnt covered? Ok, seems to me thats a pretty regular part that goes bad, since ive had the same issue on my other unit, which Home shield DID cover.
As a Real Estate Broker - it is imperative for me to know how a Home Warranty Company operates and how much value my client would get out of having a contract for same. I am still a new customer with AFC - and learning through the needs of their service how it works and if there is value. AFC and their customer support team has been very professional and responsive to my questions and service call requests. I hope to have the opportunity at the end of my service year to say that I will renew and reuse and recommend their services to others. So far - so good - but it all requires a deeper understanding on how this all works. Read your contract! is my first recommendation before you buy HW. And ask ask ask - with professional responses you should find satisfaction.
They promise one thing and then always find a way not to come through.
This company pays out for even older appliances but do not think they will pay even close to 1/2 of the unit cost if it is unable to be broken. They may offer $100 but that is about all.. untimely I do not feel nor see where this company service is needed as you are paying more for their service then they cover for repairs/ replacement.
I felt very comfortable talking with Zach and then Everett the next day. Both were very professional and addressed my questions. When speaking with Zach he didnt come on like some smooth, fast talking pushy salesmen. I appreciated their informative help and the detailed information.

I bought 3 policies for $500 each on 3 different properties. 2 months after I had a coil go on a $10,000 AC unit on one property. I had the best policy they had which also gave me the ability to hire my own contractor and then get reimbursed minus the service call fee of $75. The repair with part was $1800. I sent them all the paperwork required and they said they would give me a check for $300 because that was all my system was worth. I was confused because I paid $10,000 for the whole set up only a few years before. I called and they told me we do not repair your appliances but give you a VALUE BASED AMOUNT toward a new one. WTH? So I paid $500 for the policy to repair anything that breaks down and needs repair ( it was after all salvageable) but they dont do that I am being told now....Funny thats not what the sales man said. So I say fine send me the check and cancel all my polices...I am going to a different company that I know fixes the items. after 2 months I get a $200 refund on that policy.
The Cambria has always been our choice to stay in Pittsburgh. It has a great location and has been very nice in the past. This stay was not nearly as great. Our first room smelled like smoke so we asked for a different one. We were upgraded to a suite, which was nice. Overall, the rooms are just starting to look worn. There are stains on the carpet, there were ranch dressing containers left in the fridge, the body wash dispenser in the shower was empty, and there wasn’t a hair dryer in the bathroom. Little details, yes… but when you’re paying $150/night, I would expect those things to be taken care of. We’ll be trying another hotel next time.
VERY MISLEADING! I purchased a 12 month home warranty. NOTHING is covered in 1st month. Only $150 is covered in 2nd month.They DO NOT clearly explain this until after you try to make a claim.So DISAPPOINTED! I recommend you choose another company for your home warranty.

AFC has responded both timely & professionally to issues that have come up with my rental. Recently, the A/C unit needed to be replaced, & their contractor was able to get it replaced, just ahead of the heat wave that has hit the west coast. Additionally, I appreciate that AFCs representative sends me a reminder when its time to renew.
I’ve had some smaller experiences with AFC since obtaining my contract 2 years ago, with great service. Just recently, my 2 appliances stopped working basically at the same time. What a relief to have this coverage. I didn’t realize that the money reimbursed was based on depreciation, however, that amount was money that I still didn’t have to come up with. Working with Ciara and Jason made my life so much easier. I live on a fixed income, so this was a Godsend for my budget. Thank you for your patience and diligence and keeping me on track. This situation could have fallen off the rails!! This business and service is exemplary.
BUYER BEWARE!!! I really debated purchasing a home warranty because I felt that they would try and find a way not to help when I needed them most. My worst fears were realized after my water heater failed. I quickly checked my Gold plan and it clearly indicated water heaters WERE COVERED. When I called file a claim for repair they said it would NOT be covered because my tank was an 80 gallon tank and their plan only went up to 75 gallon!!! Absurd!! Its a water heater in my home and should be covered. I feel like AFC buried this detail in the fine print and if it wasnt this they would find some other way to not pay the claim. TERRIBLE!!!3/9/21 I read the response from AFC and it only proves my point that they will promote covering water heaters and then bury something in the fine details to make sure they have plenty of ways to exclude coverage if needed. A much better response would have been if AFC would realize that larger homes will commonly have larger water heaters like an 80 gallon and change their terms to include up to 80 gallons instead of up to 75 gallons. Your contract details strategy for not paying claims may win you the battle but your going to lose the war!
Our Account Manager, Patrick Gainey, was fantastic. When our contract failed to renew because our credit card expired, he gently but persistently reminded us until we got it taken care of.
Ive had AFC for about 8 months and this was my first claim. Representatives were excellent, walked me through the process and answered all my questions. Problem resolved in 1 day. Awesome! I had AHS for 8 years previously and was never treated this well.

Never covered anything, always some lame technicality. We had purchased the most expensive plan. We called two times for two simple things to be repaired. Oh ya Im sorry we dont cover that part. Seriously! Its all we heard this company is a joke. Dont waste your money.
Very bad and unfortunate experience with horrible customer service experience. When I placed a service call for my heater not blowing hot air the first tech claimed that there is nothing wrong with the unit, i called for him back and he came back did a full diagnosis as he claimed, as he claimed AFC told him the first time to just leave the unit alone because its old, he stated the same that the unit is fine while t was still blowing cold air. I had to pay service fee for another company to come for a second opinion. The tech did not do a full diagnosis and claimed electric failure and unit in poor condition. the total opposite of the first company. AFC refused to refund me the second fee for service call and claimed that the units has to be replaced and my contribution will be around 9k!. I insisted that my united have no electric failure and they do run, i asked for a thirst opinion that i said i will pay for but they chose not to because now they dont have to cover my A/C unit based on the claimed that i refused replacementSecond issues was with my garbage disposal. I called a then and they claimed that they approved me for a replacement and i have to pay 65 dollar. 3 weeks later they send a tech to my house and clamed that my replacement is denied!! I called and they claimed that the tech stated that there is a crack on my garbage disposal, the unit is in a poor condition and not being maintained properly! I was shocked because the tech never said that to me nor that he opened the garbage disposal when he showed up. I reached for the tech later and asked what he told AFC he claimed that he said the its normal wear and tear and the unit needed to be replaced and leaking. I called back AFC and reminded them that i was already approved for a replacement 3 weeks ago and that the tech never stated what they have noted in my account. The answer was that the decision is final and the replacement is denied.Next day I got a call from a supervisor that i requested to talk to 2 weeks ago. she stated that they go based of the tech diagnosis. I asked her to call the company in person and hear the truth. After she called the tech she then find out the truth and claimed that she will approve the replacement!I asked for my contract to be cancel and a full refund to be issues. the second supervisor claimed it will be prorated !Very bad experience!
We secured the Gold Plan just today. We spoke with Dave Dodge. He was very helpful and professional setting up our Plan and answering all of our questions.
First time submitting a claim with this company. After receiving a call regarding the issue AFC stated I could call my own servicemen to fix the problem, pay and then get reimbursed. I expect a home warranty company to take care of that for me so that made no sense. Then when the serviceman did arrive he was on the phone with AFC for over an hour before corrective services could begin. AFC stated there may be additional fees in order to diagnose the problem. This will be most likely the first and last time I use this home warranty company.
Worked with Patrick, he really served me well. Glad to say I will probably be staying with this company for a while. His honesty, guidance, and ideals of putting the customers first really shown, highly recommend!
I have had to use their services twice. In both instances, it took days to even for them to find a contractor to come diagnose the issues. The first time, the contractor could not fix the problem. The second time I needed their service, the repair person took the deductible and never returned to fix the problem. In both instances, I finally, I had to go find my own people and take care of the repairs on my own with over $1000 in additional expenses that were not recovered. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Not worth the cost of the paper it was written on. The Technician was outstanding, however the warranty company was next to worthless. I contacted them when I had my AC serviced and was told I had a couple of problems with components that were out of tolerance and a compressor that was not only out of specs, but failing. The warranty company dispatched a technician, of course after I paid the deductible. It took a while to get an appointment and then the technician replaced the one part under warranty, but he said that he had to word the work order in a certain way to have it covered. He had to get their approval to replace that part. The cost would have been about what the deductible was. As far as the Fan motor and compressor, that was way over amping, out of tolerance and could fully fail at any time. The warranty company considered this for over a week, closer to 10 days, and when I finally chased them down and talked to someone, they said that it was not covered as it had not actually failed. They do not call you back to let you know the decision, you have to chase them. They would not even tell me if it would be covered when it does fail. They said I would have to pay another deductible, go through the same process and then they would let me know if they would cover it. This is not worth the paper it is printed on. It seems like they use every excuse and every angle to NOT cover anything. I got this when I purchased my home and did not renew after all this happened. They continue to annoy me with contacting me to renew my policy and to do reviews. OK, so here is my review!
Signed up for a three year plan and had several claims. They do not repair or replace anything. They only prorate and tell you whatever the component has an issue is worthless and then try to do you a favor by giving you a courtesy good faith payment of $200. It maybe in the fine print, but the sales team purposely leaves that out of their pitch. Never again!
The worst!! Don’t let all the hidden fees fool you! Can’t make a claim for 30 days and THEN from 30 to 60 days they will ONLY cover up to $150 worth of repairs. Instantly asked for my money back! Very poor warranty company. So if your a/c goes out all summer don’t expect it repaired till fall.
Best not to do deal with this company at any cost, they would cheat on your waiting period, and they would hit you with deep depreciation value on the unit. If you have new unit dont waste the money on monthly premium, if you want peace of mind; go with most trusted, reliable, professional company even if you have to pay a bit more.
The cost of the coverage is a better value than a previous company I used. Responsiveness is also far better as previously I could be on hold for greater than 1 hour and the online service was limited. We have a dedicated rep to go to partially because we have multiple properties on contract and she is simply outstanding. If I go through someone else there are hurdles to jump as far as how much of the replacement or repair cost is covered due to depreciation. Generally we are expected to find our own vendor. This has advantages and disadvantages as there is a limited stable of vendors with AFC and sometimes finding someone to take a call is difficult. Overall I am extremely satisfied.
They scheduled one technician to come out who took my service fee but didnt return to complete the job. Then sent another technician but didnt communicate with them so they wanted me to pay another service fee. Hold times take forever. When you respond to the links they send, they still send messages as if you didnt already give the info. Really doesnt seem they want to cover anything. Requested a copy of contract & still havent received it. Still waiting to get my service request completed.
I was a memmber of afc for years and called them multiple times for different services during that time, to request services such as for repairing toilets, fixing broken heating system and each time they said they are not covering that request! I became a member because I specifically checked with them if they cover such repair services, and they said yes. Then while I was a member, they never helped with any request! Dont sign up with AFC! Not worth your monthly fee at all.
CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH! BUYER BEWARE!My case has been escalated to the top management which is not true either.I purchased a home, all systems were green per the licensed home inspector for our state of TX. NO WHERE in the marketing materials or on the phone did anyone tell me that if you dont have maintenance records from the previous home owner... THE WARRANTY IS VOID. Our a/c went out a few months after moving into the home and they rejected the warranty.Taking up case with consumer protection agency but want to ensure other families avoid the wasted $s of a classic bait and switch. Using words in marketing like AFC will request previous records is different than Attention: AFC will REQUIRE previous records even if you just purchased home and no maintenance was due and the certified and license home inspection didnt show any issues.
Patrick Gainey from AFC was very professional and explained all the particulars of the home warranty policy. he was even able to take off some items from the policy that I dont have in my home and add other items and keeping the same price. I would recommend for any homeowner to look at a home warranty program and speak with Patrick, He will guide you thru the whole process.

What a great experience we had with AFC Home Club warranty. We got the warranty when we bought this house we had some high end appliances in it. Our dishwasher died a quick death. I called and got quick service and found out we were able to replace it since it was a older model. I received the check the next week via email. We purchased a new dishwasher and couldnt be happier!
I have had a great experience with Americas First Choice for my home warranty. I just renewed my warranty for 3 more years, which was a great savings. I always get an immediate response with professional and friendly customer service when I place a service order. The companies that come out to solve my issues have been prompt, experienced and friendly professionals. My issues have been resolved with ease and in a timely manner.
I will never do business with this company again. They did not disclose all of the details of their service up front. Then at the end of my contract they renewed their service and charged my credit card without authorization! Just amazing.
The quoting and setup process for our home warranty was excellent. The company was extremely responsive and friendly.
We tried to work with this company as a contractor and 1) They never paid us for work performed despite us following all of their billing rules and 2) They denied pretty much everything the customer needed fixed and, in fact, told the customer to choose between fixing two entirely different things because they were only going to pay for one or the other. We work with other home warranty companies and there are FAR FAR better ones out there. Do your research and dont pick this one.If you dont pay your contractors who is going to help your customers?
I had a plumbing emergency and attempted to place a service request from 8:45am (CST) until 9:10am and could not reach anyone, was placed in cue and no one ever answered; also tried pressing “0” for a call back.* Follow up…. I finally spoke to Customer Service Rep later that day who told me plumbing valve that broke was not covered. I had to call a plumber and paid $200. *Someone from AFC called back the next day. I’ve had AFC membership and never filed a claim. AFC membership is not worth the money you pay monthly or yearly. Items that you need covered are not covered. Very hard to speak with Customer Service. Total rip-off!!!
I do not like to rate and specially give poor ratings, but I believe this one deserves it. They promise you they fix anything that goes wrong with your home, but when something does go wrong, they make any excuse to get out of it. Primarily, they refer to their contract which is written so ambiguously as to justify not covering any repairs. Additionally, you must pay a deposit to have a technician go out and inspect the problem. This deposit is not returned to you if they identify that the warranty does not cover it, which is pretty much anything. Honestly, this type of behavior should be illegal. I do not recommend this company.

I had my 1st claim and they turned it down it was my pool pump I paid for it to be fixed myself and they refused to cover it, which was covered by their policy. My second claim was a busted water line my home owners insurance cover everything except fixing the water line well AFCHC, spent months coming up with reasons not to reimburse me. My 3rd claim was my Garbage disposal so this time I asked them to send someone out they told me for a Garbage disposal they just give you $95 I told them the the disposal was $110, and who was going to install it, they said I could hire a plumber. That was when we ask to cancel the policy which was only a few months old and got back less than $200 for a policy that cost over $700. I would never recommend this company. If you add up my receipts without the warranty we would of been ahead.
One needs to read the fine print closely. This company does not replace at replacement cost but at depreciated value. Definitely not worth the annual fee!
Originally I was with AHS ( this location is my Rach House) they had just replaced my water well pump that I had several years, but it was hard for them to locate contractors in that area and AFC home Club tells me I can get my own contractors and they can directly pay them or I can get reimbursed and i was sold by a sales manager he gave me his direct phone line well ok, a few months later my AC unit to the upstairs went out so I located a AC company at a nearby town and he went by and diagnosed the problem the compressor sorted out so he called them and told them and they asked him if there there thunderstorms near by and he said yes, so them they call me and tell me it was an act of God not covered and I told them they were crazy the storms were 10 days ago and so every time there was a storm all the ACs would go out so they said will waive that but the unit was also old so by the time we take depreciation you wouldnt get any thing so in essence in a house that is 9 or 10 years if anything breaks down you wouldnt get anything, so I then tried to call the sales manager by the name Patrick and another one Dave their recording now said their box was full and it could not take a message this sounds like scams and I am now in the process of my lawyer finding out who is their legal rep in Texas to accept Process Service Will meet in Court BEWARE
Signed up with AFC today and if the phone call was any indication about customer service, WOW!!! Very professional on the phone, information explained thoroughly and could clearly understand the person on the other end.
The plans appear to be a great value, but the deception is in the details of their contract(s). Unfortunately, this home warranty program is not member friendly. When you request a service, normally you would expect to pay the service charge; the parts and other simple/normal particulars are not covered. This home warranty program is NOT contractor friendly. I would advice going with a different service, or not having a home warranty at all(the manufacturer warranties are better). Good luck!
This is an awesome warranty company to contract for. They are very professional and quick with response times for the customer and contractor/tech as well. One of the best that our company has done business with.
Bought 2 policies for my prosperities for total of $1,100, and every time I call for repair they provide all kind of excuse not repair, such as they cant find the model of the stove, your AC is old we dont have part for it, your swimming pool pump is old even though I showed them I changed it 3 years ago. After lengthy, fight thy decided to compensate me with $150/- curtesy. Pleaaaase dont waist your money and time in such as scum scam

Never call me back, never send me a written resolution but has call me like 10 times to try to sell me a second year warranty. If I could give negative stars, I would. I had to replaced my electrical panel and sub panel, clearly covered on the terms of the warranty and they didn’t covered for unknown reasons because they haven’t bothered in give them.
Waste of money and time. They take several days to schedule someone, and when they finally send someone, then nothing is covered. It’s faster and less expensive if we call directly to a local service repair company. I do not recommend them.
Terrible coverage. Happy to sell the warrant agreement but had to fight to get anything taken care of. Dryer and A/C problems and wouldn’t cover. Worst ever!!!!!!

Extremely bad experience. The very first time we tried to use it we had 4 days of no show by the repair company they use. Then he ordered a part, had us pay someone to move the dishwasher, he then decided it needed another part,. The company decided not to pay for it and not replace, repair or even compensate close to the value of the product. Not to mention they acknowledge that during the current housing crisis and covid household appliances are on a long backorder.Do not purchase anything from this company. Its a rip off. My husband did it behind my back.
Should have read ALL the fine print! My mistake. Indicates coverage on such things as water heaters, heating units, etc., but the fine print excludes most of the major working components.Dont waste your money for coverage that doesnt payout.
I needed a plumber for a water line leak in the second floor wall behind a bathroom faucet. It was on a Saturday morning. The Customer Service person for AFC Home Club gave me the okay to use a plumber if I could get one out on a weekend, and said that I might be reimbursed for at least some of the cost after paying the amount that would represent the non-refundable service call of AFC.I got a plumber and the repair was made. What I didnt like, was the fact that AFC couldnt provide a list of plumbers to recommend; they left me on my own with an emergency condition on a weekend; and they would have had to send someone out to evaluate the leak the following week before authorizing it to be fixed. Thats bizarre with a water leak insid a persons house.These procedures arent logical for what amounts to an emergency repair. They did quickly reimburse me $332 of the $605 bill, which would have been just about the entire cost of the repair if it hadnt been on a weekend, and the plumber adding a $250 service call to the bill. Im giving them a generous 4 stars for the no-hassle reimbursement of my expenses, although they didnt give me much service.

AFC Home Club listed as a recommended home warranty company. What sets them apart they do outsource claims and you are assigned an account manager.
This is a better run insurance company, in my own real life Experience, for the first off..AFCHC dose not use the national appliance Deperciation. 2nd they come out and diagnose your situation, as the same as other do, but if they replace, they also order and install as well!!! yes there trade fees is a few dollars more, but this is worth it in my own words!!!!Jerry

I cannot recommend AFC Home Club at all. I purchased a 3-year Gold Plan in August 2020. In December I called them because my HVAC was not functioning. after paying the $125 service fee, they sent the recommendation to AFC and it was denied. They said because my HVAC was 20 years old that they only valued it at $200. The unit itself costs $6500 to replace.Everything in my home is of around the same age. If every thing in my house went bad, my AFC policy wouldnt even cover the $1050 that I paid for the policy.I sent several emails to AFC requesting the cancel and refund my policy. Most went unanswered. Over a month later I finally got them to agree to a refund. Six weeks went by and there was no refund.After several phone calls and emails, today I finally got a refund, but for only $799 of my $1050.I cannot recommend this company at all.
I switched to AFC hoping it would be better than some of the less-than-stellar home warranty clubs, but it is just the same as the rest. They look for every way possible to not cover something. I have two of their top-tiered plans for the record. To date, Ive put in two claims. The first claim they denied without even sending out a technician because it occurred within the first 60-days. I thought it was 30-days, but they explained there was fine print that, essentially, made it a 60-day waiting period. The second claim they were asking me to diagnose the problem with an oven. I explained that I was not a small appliance repair technician, and they denied the claim based on my incredibly limited input. Luckily, with enough complaining, they sent out a technician who was able to get it working pretty easily. But, I had to pay out of pocket. Apparently, you are not able to use all the features of your oven... if you do, it is no longer covered. Im not sure what the point of having a home warranty really is. They dont cover much, and, when they do, its like trying to pull teeth from an alligator to get anything from them. Im about 99% I will be cancelling this policy. My advice... just pay for the extended warranties offered when you buy something - these home warranty companies are absolute rip-offs.
Its not worth it.. they dont cover most of the items that are needed. And of course they tell you too read the fine print, I wont be renewing. I can save the money and pay someone since nothing is ever covered.
I had the best experience with America’s First Choice Home warranty. My water heater went out literally a week after the policy went active. They were nice, helpful and the plumber they had come over was professional and did a phenomenal job. I will be sticking with them for a long time.
I marked all and gave a 5 star rating because I like to believe in all businesses from the beginning until we have a reason not to like or trust a business. AFC is a good business but However they did take quite a long time to pay us for a job we did for them but thats the only bad experience I have had with them. Out of all 5 warranty companies I work with AFC would be in third place out of the 5.
I GAVE ONE STAR BECAUSE GOOGLE WILL NOT LET ME POST THE COMMENT WITHOUT IT. DO NOT BUY HOME WARRANTY FROM THIS FRAUD COMPANY. THEY ARE HERE JUST TO STEAL YOUR MONEY. MY EVAPORATOR COIL GOT LEAKED AND NOW THEY ARE NOT COVERING THE REPLACEMENT IN WARRANTY. THEY WANT HOME OWNERS TO CHECK THE SYSYEM EVERYDAY TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT LEAKING OR WORKING FINE. BIG FRAUD BIG FRAUD.....FRAUD..... STAY AWAY FROM THEM PLEASE.
I give them a 4 star because I believe the $60 fee is a little high, that is why I quit using home warranty because they were getting more from me than I was getting from them.

I had to give them a star to write this review but I wouldn’t have ! Policy is about a year. We actually left the home warranty co we had when bought the house bc they tried to screw us just like AFC is doing. Water heater needed a repair well discovered it would have to be replaced $1900! AFC only wants to give us $350. The service man felt horrible and waived his call fee. We clearly don’t need this warranty if we are basically paying the replacement of the water oh and the $350 off well we’ve spent that and then some on purchase of the warranty! SCAMMED! Don’t waste your money!
As others have indicated, these guys are world-class thieves. They refuse to cover items that are clearly covered in their advertising, but then turn around and say the contract they have with you - which has a signature page but was never signed by anyone at the closing table after they accepted funds from the title agent - doesnt allow it. Texans also beware - they are NOT licensed to do business in Texas. Their business license was forfeited years ago, yet they still try to underwrite properties here. We had to sue them to get our money back, and then they tried to demand we take down our review because it was unfavorable. They’re crooks. Avoid at all costs.

This company appears to be very proactive when it comes time to charge you. They charge my credit card automatically for the next year service contract even though I did not signed up for any automatic renewal. They took it upon themselves to automatically extend me. Ive been a customer for one year and am lucky that my house is in good shape and hasnt needed any repairs yet, so I have not used their service. But since they are this proactive charging my credit card without my authorization, I can only hope they are as proactive when I need their service in the future. I gave three stars because I have not used their service, therefore I dont know how their service will be. But at the same time I gave this rating because I am not thrilled with this company charging me when I didnt authorize it.
They dont cover anything! Then when something does qualify they try to find a way to not pay. They never covered anything and we attempted to make a claim 4 or 5 times. It isnt work the money or effort to deal with them.
The warranty was presented as repair or replace. This is company provides neither. They are not responsive; provide consistently poor service; and when, pushed will not replace. Do NOT waste your money or a moment of peace with this smoke and mirrors company!
This home warranty company is a joke along with all the rest, we purchased a home 2 years ago and or furnace went out. They sent someone out to look at it and they would not repair it or replace it because there was some rust on the unit ( which of course happens over time ). On top of that we googled the technicians company and there was nothin this company at all. Anyone out there looking to buy a home ......DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A HOME WARRANTY.
I personally would have had a local company, or one with the same area code as mine, come to fix my air conditioning. These guys are 1 hour south.They fixed the problem plus serviced my air conditioning unit. They were early and responded immediately. Therefore, I am having them come 2 times per year to service my a/c.
We have an older home heating unit which our previous home repair service would not touch, unless we first hired someone else to “fix the wiring,” then they would come and repair the heating unit. Your technician had to do quite a bit of research and roof climbing before he finally restored heat to our home. We were so impressed, and most of all “ thankful.”
We contacted them about our wall ovens. They had someone out to our home in a matter of days. He declared it unfixable. We got a replacement offer right away. After we bought and had our new opens installed we faxed the confirmation to AHCH right away. A check was quickly forthcoming. Very satisfied
Service was quick, professional, and done right the first time. Dryer heating coil had burned out and the tech was there less than an hour and fixed it. No complaints.

Donna and the entire crew were excellent as usual. Always very happy with everything ready to go. The room was really excellent and completely cleaned. Coffee and breakfast was great.
I signed up after being convinced by the sales person that there will be great service and follow up - can’t be further from the truth. I have suffered tenants threatening to leave, dispatch taking a long time, weeks between getting anything done despite repeat attempts to contact, company refusing to replace appliances - sending out multiple people for multiple diagnosis of the same thing - nightmare.
