This was our 4th time renting a boat in Marathon. It was our first time renting from Underdog. I can tell you if youre looking for a boat that is set up for fishing, look no further. The electronics are top notch, the equipment is in great shape, and the boat itself is clean and well taken care of. On our day to return the boat, the wind was very strong and a small craft advisory was issued. I was concerned with going out in the choppy ocean, so I contacted James. After hearing my concerns, James came and picked the boat up from where we were staying, and took care of filling the fuel for us as well. Ive never had such great service when renting a boat in the keys. You definitely get what you pay for here. Thanks again for the great service!! See you next year!

We had the ‘31 Contender for a week and had an absolute blast. It cruised very smooth in nice weather and handled the waves very well on the rougher days. If you are a die hard fisherman this boat is a must. It will get you wherever you want to go. Best boat rental in Keys for people trying to do serious fishing.

Rented for five days from Underdog. Weather was rough, but the service from Capt. James and Underdog was fantastic. The boat was in fantastic shape with excellent electronics and gear. It was ready to fish. Will definitely be back to Underdog for my next boat rental in the Keys.

Underdog Boat Rentals is the absolute best business in Marathon and the surrounding areas to rent a boat. We rented the Pursuit 2470 (white) for a week and it is an incredible fishing boat. The livewell worked flawlessly, the onboard coolers are well insulated and will keep the catch iced down well after you get back to the dock. Dual screens on the dash make it much easier to find a good drop site also. And the 300 Suzuki on the back purred and roared all week. Im a Yamaha guy but Im starting to think about Suzuki now if I ever repower. While the boat was great, Fuzzy is an incredible owner, operator of Underdog. As a retired Army officer, I place a high expectation on honesty and dependability. Underdog nailed it. I have rented boats from a few other places in Marathon and Underdog is by far the best in regards to their boats and customer service/interaction.

Fuzzy and James were excellent. The boat was clean fueled and ready to go. Everything worked and we had nothing but fun. No complaints nothing but praise.

We had a great experience renting from Underdog! A last minute trip to the Keys for Spring Break meant extremely limited boat availability - all of the major companies were booked solid. Lucky for us, Underdog had a Pursuit available, which fit our needs perfectly. The boat was clean, well equipped, and ran great. James met us at the boat ramp, went over everything with us, and gave us some great local advice. We have rented from most of the “big” rental companies down there in the past, and couldn’t be happier that we stumbled upon Underdog. We will definitely be back. Thanks guys!

What a great week in Marathon, Fl fishing (feb 13th - 21st) and it would not have happened without the wonderful 2470 pursuit that we rented from Underdog Boat Rentals. First off Fuzzy was wonderful to work with and went out of his way to accomadate us after learning our dock at our home was not going to work. The boat was well maintained and equipped with everything you need to fish inshore or offshore. The boat ran flawless and is also very fuel effecient. We were also privileged with meeting Capt James who is a great guy and gave us some local info on fishing the area. I would definitly call these guys if you are looking for top notch equipment, which is rare in the boat rental business. Underdog Boat Rentals is now my go to when renting in the Keys.

The 31ft contender is by far the best boat to rent in the keys!!! That plus the fact underdog boat rentals is the only rental down there that allows you to go 40 miles offshore instead of 25 miles makes underdog top of the top!!! That extra 15 miles they allow you to go out is the game changer for bringing home a box full of fish. Thanks again guys yal are awesome!!!

We decided to rent from Underdog after having horrible experiences with several other boat rental companies in the Marathon area last year.The 31 boat we had rented from Underdogs competitor turned out to have a nonfunctioning engine, so they put us in a different boat. Which turned out to have serious electrical issues. The competitor then credited our rental to a sister operation and we ended up in a 28 boat very different from what we had paid for, which had no electronics and one engine that didnt trim properly. Suffice it to say, we were not impressed and the constant shuffling throughout the week we had to vacation basically ruined our fishing.So we had high hopes after conversing with James about his rental and boat maintenance philosophy for our trip to the keys this year When I picked to boat up, James was very thorough and helpful in getting me out on the water safely, AND headed in the right direction to catch fish. The 25 pursuit we rented was immaculate. It runs perfectly, and sips fuel. Having a large sonar/gps touchscreen makes navigating the complex channels of the keys substantially easier. I was also impressed with how well the boat handled rough water.The only issue we had was when we clogged the drain line of the livewell with bait, and james was over within 20 minutes. He helped us fix the problem.If you are renting a boat in the keys, learn from my experiences and spend a little extra money to book an Underdog boat. You will more than pay the difference with lost time, inconvenience, and lack of safety with the other operations.
