L and J Motors has been servicing my Volvos for over 20 years. The quality, diagnostics, efficiency and pricing are the best of any repair shop I have used. They take a caring attitude about my cars, looking for any warning signs that could lead to a problem. My cars are older and they need a little TLC. I was services by John, been here once before my second and last time. I dont know if its the season that is making them go crazy the labor cost more than the parts my parts cost about 55 dollars my labor was $314 for a fluid change and hood cable.I thought that was crazy. tHE PURPOSE OF WHAT HE TOLD ME THE FLUID WAS FOR AFTER I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE THE LIGHT CAM BACK ON WHEN I WAS 5 MINUTES AWAY FROM THEIR SHOP .(drive train light in case anyone is wondering)

Greedy theives! After spending $476 for a tuneup, I brought my 5 series back to this place to get $10000 worth of work done through my warranty. My deductible is $100. This guy tried to charge me almost $700 because the warranty company is exempt from NJ taxes so he wanted me to pay taxes on repairs that I’m not even paying for! And the warranty company doesn’t cover the diagnostic which they charge $205 for! I had to pay for the diagnostic and remove my car to B&F Auto in East Orange who did great work and only charged my $100 deductible.

THEIVES! They will charge you highest market price for ANY PIECE they purchase to put in your car. But will find the cheapest part to put in your vehicle. THE OWNER LEE EVEN ADMITTED TO IT!!!!! And I even left with a new problem that costs me another $1000 . I will be taking them to court for sure

They do good work but will not let you supply your own parts, They give the excuse that there insurance company wont allow it. I buy genuine BMW parts, I work for a dealership. They want to charge top dollar for parts.

My coworker told me the story of his Mercedes benz cutting off while driving and of him subsequently towing it to one of the many CROOKED DEALERSHIPS they told him he needed X Y and Z and it was going to cost him somewhere in the neighborhood of around $1200.00. Because he had used L & J before he called them then had the car towed over to them. The out come, he needed a fuse!!!! Greedy Lawyers and crooked mechanics belong in the same hell! In Maplewood, NJ, Lee and John Doumanis run perhaps the most reliable, competent, efficient (predominantly) imported car diagnostic and repair shop in the county, L and J Motors.If it were a restaurant, youd have Lee training and presiding masterfully over a team of talented young cooks, in the kitchen and John running the front of the house with his Maite d, Sam at your service. It would be a 3 Michelin star establishment (⭐⭐⭐). Yes the French tire company is world renowned for rating restaurants.From Benzes to Bemers, Volvos and Audis or anything else you may own or lease (even my lowly 01 VW Passat GLX) all get tested, treated and rejuvenated at L & J. Not cheap but always competitive, thorough and honest. If they CAN save you a buck, they WILL.You got a car in need of maintenance or repair, especially a foreign badge, you need to get over to the S.E. corner of Springfield and Boyden Avenues in Maplewood so Lee and John and their crew of young techs can make a fix.jimmythesafe
