Struggled during the pandemic still try to evict us. My wife worked for a professional cleaning company and when we moved out she scrub that apartment top to bottom and they wanna say nothing was cleaned it was left in horrible condition and try and charge us five grand for cleaning and replacement fees and all that. Honestly not worth living there management is very sketchy. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
This place is very very very terrible.plz run away run away run away!!!They already charged 600$ deposit!!!They tried to change you any fees in any reasons they could found. They totally got 1000 dollars for all reasons. On our contract our cat fee is 50$ per month. After one month they suddenly changed it to 75$ and require us to drop off one of our cats.We lived two years and we pay rent on time. Then we asked to sign a half year contract, they told us then our rent would be plus additional 200$ per month. I don’t know where this 200$ additional come from. It seems they don’t have any protocol for this, after we told them we would leave they changed the rent to be plus 50$. They have lots of policy come up from nowhere in the mid of your stay especially when they know move is hard for you for the moment, to charge u more money.First we moved in at 10th of the month and this mont is considered an entire month.Second they charge everything they need to rent this apartment to the next customer. The entire carpet changed all pay upon me. We left one roll of unease toilet paper and that is charged 5 dollars for their labor to collect. The wall all repainted even it’s clean and cost on me. The sewer cost on me. Of course the fridge is cleaned and works well but they said it has some minimum scratch and repair for 300 dollars cost on me. I would like to say even you go to a diner and you are hungry this place eats very ugly. And you will see some five star comments, don’t believe it they were written by employees.
Horrible place to live. Bad amenities and even worse management. Screwed up my lease from the start and I am still dealing with lease issues 3 months after I have moved out.
Overall good apartments. Maintenance was very responsive and always properly maintained/salted the walkways and parking lot. Their dumpsters were never over flowing and had plenty of them to make trash removal and recycling very easy. If you’re at Ft Riley, this apartment complex is a great choice because of the short commute compared to some of the other Manhattan complex’s. In addition, it is very the apartment community is very quiet and feels homey. We never had an issue the office couldn’t resolve. Would definitely recommend.
I have lived at this beautiful community for a year.. Everyone I have worked with has been absolutely amazing especially Lainee Ross, She was so helpful and goes above and beyond to ensure any issues are resolved. On the other hand, she seemed angry when I decided not to renew my lease.. I love the location- and the price cannot be beat and not to mention awesome amenities! I definitely utilize the fitness center regularly :) I recommend this place to everyone!
Ive lived here for almost 2 years. I really think the staff here is quick to fix any maintenance issues that come up. If something cant be fixed right away they always email or call that a are part is being ordered. Keep up the good work definitely happy here.
I am a current renter and have been for almost 4 years now. I have lived in 3 of the of 5 bedroom layouts offered. This is a great place to rent in Manhattan. It is VERY QUIET and very comfortable environment, albeit a little expensive. But the great management, well-kept property and pool/tennis amenities, easily-available parking, and exercise facility are worth the higher rent in my opinion.
Was good in 2018. Steadily went downhill in maintenance and cleanliness. I moved out a few months before my lease and the manager said that they had some people very interested in my apartment due to there being a balcony, washer, and dryer. Three months later I got a bill for carpet replacement for pet damage with one grainy picture as proof. No one moved in during that time. They charged more than my initial deposit with a letter stating if I don’t pay up then I’ll be sent to collections.Passive aggressive staff who are experts at deflecting complaints and issues, they will not help you get in touch with their owner - Curtin Property Mngmt in KC.I was initially happy with this property, but the management isn’t helpful, the location is going downhill.
Ive lived here for 8months now and have been very pleased. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The exercise center is modern with newer equipment. There are two clean nice sized pools.Biggest thing to boast is these apartments are QUIET!!! I absolutely love that. I never heard my neighbors around me.Only gripe is the strange narrow parking spots. But I have a garage so its a non issue for me.
Im using a throwaway for obvious reasons. Im a current renter of this property. The apartment is nice, the front office ladies are polite, and so far over the last several months, we havent had any issues. Why the low score, then? The pet policy. The pet policy is insane. They tell you that you can have a dog of any age, as long as it has all of its shots. So, you would assume that that means that as long as you keep your puppy up to date on its shots, its fine, right? No. You cant even have a puppy inside your apartment until its 16 weeks old (date of last vaccine). Im going to have to board my puppy for months, which isnt exactly healthy for it. Not to mention missing out on all of the training time.Second, it has to be spayed/neutered before you are allowed to bring it in. Understandable. Except for the fact that most vets wont even do the procedure until about four or five months, because of the health risks to the puppy.Bottom line? The pet policy needs to be amended to say no dogs under the age of 16 weeks. Because while they tell you you can have a puppy, they dont really understand their own rules. I mean, it really isnt that complicated. Keep the dog up to date on its shots, provide paperwork as its done, and spay/neuter at an appropriate age before it goes into heat and starts marking its territory. Apparently, thats to much to ask.All of this would be a lot less infuriating if I didnt consistently see dogs over the fifty pound weight limit on the property.
Better start getting some better management and better start answering phones I called at least 5 times before someone picked up do not worry though me and my wife will be moving and also better figure your fileing out to because I payed rent and they try to tell me I didnt pay rent even though it says the money was taken out of my account and that I also have a copy of the check signed by who processed it watch your back here because they will screw you
The renting is unbelievable expensive!!with the renting price you can easily rent a 3 bedroom HOUSE!!not a small 2 bedroom apartment....not to mention that you have to pay for water (sewer) and electric bill....other than the free 24h gym there is nothing special about it.
Great apartments! Yes, a bit on the expensive side, and their customer service telephone number is a bit wacky, but they have a very friendly and prompt staff, well managed apartments with monthly pest control, a great website, little aesthetic improvements everywhere, AND they have quarterly socials for residents. Im glad I chose them!
I have lived at Westchester for nearly a year now and have had nothing but good experiences. 1)maintenance is great. they try their best to get the fix done quickly and efficiently and when it cant be done all in one sitting, they are quick to come back and finish 2)the grounds are nicely up kept as far as mowing, landscaping, and especially snow plowing in the winter 3)the pools are great! One of my biggest peeves at my old apartments was loud and obnoxious parties and craziness at the pool. Here, I can go read a book and actually enjoy the day. Lastly, we have NO issues with loud neighbors which is great...it stays pretty calm out here.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL WORST MANAGEMENT/RENTAL PROPERTY EVER!!!This is a lengthy review but I promise it is worth it to know before moving in here. I was living with my friend in the complex for sometime. The apartment rent is extremely overpriced. The MANAGER is rude and acts as though helping their tenants is a chore. When we moved in, we noticed some pest problem and complained to the Management that apartment was not ready for the move-in. Manager apologized and contacted pest control company. Next Day: A person from the management office came with pest control technician and completed the treatment within 15 seconds (Believe me). Since then, I have seen same pest control company along with management personnel is treating the whole building for pest control for approximately once/twice a year but with same DRAMA of treating each apartment for spiders but not more than 10-15 seconds/apartment. I have asked my other neighbors and they pointed out the same thing. The comments about the old windows could not be more true, they barely close properly, the panes are so thin that you have to blast the heat in the winter and thus you are paying too much for the electricity. Also, the management would not ever wash/clean any windows from the outside even if it is full of dust and dirt.Plumbing is terrible, the water pressure is so bad we bought and installed our own shower head. If you are not at home for couple of days, you will get hundreds of black particles in the water. Upon complaining to the management, they pointed out that the building pipes were installed in 1960s and they cant do anything.Safety! Most of the tenants have a huge issue with the management company right now in regards to complex safety. There are no cameras anywhere, not even in the parking lots....Pet fees/deposits are very steepThey will try to keep 100% of your deposit so BE AWARE!!BE AWARE!! You have to pay for Utility base charges, trash, water, sewer, electricity, etc every month.I researched many apartments in the surrounding area and after visiting them all, this place seemed like the right choice - I could not have been more wrong. The management here is terrible and they have crazy price differences for the same unit, its almost as if they pull the number out of thin air. I encourage all to PLEASE think it through before leasing at Westchester Park Apartments/Georgetown Apartment Homes.I think that zero star is truthfully more appropriate.
Run away! Save yourself! Bait and Switch strategy to get tenants. . Large deposit compared to better apartments in the ares. They charge outrageous amounts for move out. I did have carpet stains which I have no problem paying, but getting paid for entire apartment recarpeting and pads seems excessive. Showroom apartment is so nice, lots of light, fireplace, new carpets. In reality, the apartment you get has few windows with little light, no pass thru Kitchen, new carpets with stains, dirty kitchen and bathroom that you will get charged for on move out even when you clean it. Zero views, it is noisy on patio listening to air conditioning units turn on. Did I mention zero views? The premise floods frequently during rain season. Downstairs units flood bad as I noticed during heavy rains, the downspout was backed up for my downstairs neighbors amd they had sand bags amd still had to use fans to dry out their units. I emailed office numerous times due to pools being dirty or closed for long periods of time. Grounds not well kept, and winter time they do not mow nor clear leaves. My dogs found rodents durings walks in the winter due to piles of leaves and long grass being ignored by management. I emailed them December 9th to clear leaves as they do not focus on keeping up the grounds compared to better apartment communities in the area. Noisy. I dont care what they say about thick walls. This place is noisy and you hear your neighbors on the 4 door platform and above your unit. Back yard is a loud and busy highway you can hear from front door. Patio stares into neighbors homes, plus hot and noisy due to air conditioning units so close to patios. We were charged to replace all carpets when a standard steam cleaner would have been sufficient. Possibly some carpet needed replacement, but I feel charging for new carpets in entire apartment was excessive. Carpets had stains when we moved in but we were charged for new carpets on move out. They consistently tried to upcharge us by offering expensive garage rent. Had to go to office for almost all packages and it wasnt to meet amd greet with office staff. My new apartment I actually enjoy going in amd talking with on site management team. Much more friendly towards my wife and I.Overall, I would never rent here again. Save yourself and keep away.Lived here 12 months, would never do it again.Go somewhere nice like Highland Ridge where you will find better management and fast response for repairs and well kept grounds.
This place is terrible, my apartment on the first floor was heavily infested with bugs. the bathroom door lock broke while I was in there, locking me in the bathroom. After i moved out they charged ridiculous for carpet damage for no reason. Their office personnel are not good either. Do NOT rent here, you will regret.
I would give this a 0 star if I could1. They do specials to lure you in but then charge a crazy amount to fill out applications per person. They might say your deposit will be $300 but be careful it will end up being $500-$600.2. The apartments are way over priced for sure. Not worth about $800 a month for a one bedroom.3. Literally on The day before Christmas Eve my toilet flooded and i called maintenance. My toilet literally broke somehow I don’t know how and flooded almost my entire bedroom. The water was ankle deep. And what did they do brought fans but never came and sucked it up. I could puke right now. I had to catch a plane the next day for the holidays so I cleaned it up as much as I could. All of my stuff was nearly ruined so beware there’s probably black mold growing in those apartments now.4. There management staff literally changes almost once a month to two months. So they can’t keep up on anything and don’t know what they are doing half the time.5. When I moved out they charged me $50 for a key and I returned all my keys on the inspection date. Literally returned every single one. And I still haven’t received my security deposit when it was expected which is between 14 days of your move out date - and the end of that monthWorst apartment complex and management in town. They don’t follow their lease either. please please please do not rent from here. And please please disregard what they responded to me in the bottom. They are lies. I only received one key and not two keys when I moved. My boyfriend and I had to share and they keep claiming I had two when I only received one.The only reason they are giving me my refund back as dated now is because I had to inform them that my move out date inspection was July 31st and not August 11th. And they kept telling me it was August 11th and they weren’t going to refund me the money until 14 days after August 11th but I haven’t lived there since July 31st!!!They did absolutely nothing for my apartment with the flooding. Please trust this post. It’s been an on going back and forth dealing with them through emails because they can’t answer the phones. They can literally screw themselves. I never say that but they literally can!
My experience at Westchester Apartments has been unsatisfactory because of their pet policy. I rented a 1 br, 1 bath unit in a non-pet building but when I moved in the unit next door has two barking dogs. I complained to management and they said the dogs are companion animals and there is nothing they can do about it. What they did may be legal but it sure doesnt seem ethical. The apartments are a bit dated, the kitchen and bath are the worst as it appears everything is original from when the units were built pushing 30 years ago. I would give Westchester Apartments 3 stars or average if they hadnt misrepresented the pet situation. However, in this situation, 2 stars is the best I can give. I will move out when my lease expires.
This company has poor procedures for both the application step and the leasing step. Even applying to this place costs upwards of $500 that is non refundable if you are approved. They approve just about everyone and pocket the money so just know that going in. Their employees are incompetent and hostile when you attempt to deal with them.
Westchester Park Apartments is an acceptable place to stay. Its not remarkable, but they do diligently take care of their property. Pricing for their apartments may need to be adjusted lower, however, due to current, local market conditions. Also, in tenants favor, they are not pricks in returning your deposit when you clear out.Routinely, management has ensured their propertys upkeep. I always notice the landscaping being taken care of, the pool being cleaned, gym being cleaned ( a gym membership will give you a wider variety of equipment; however, the gym facility offers enough to keep you in a basic, health condition), stairwells being swept, apartments being visited regularly by pest control (never had serious issues with insects; but, I was on the top floor)... Any emergency maintenance issues were addressed as soon as possible during hours and after hours. In my opinion, I always felt the rent should have been slightly less. Lately, I have noticed quite a bit of vacancies around Manhattan during my stay with Westchester. What I would have liked would have been a washer and dryer inside each unit (there are a few in each building for everyone to use). It seemed some complexes offered this along with competitive rents. But, Westchester did periodically offer rebates for a few months when you leased one of their units; however, the rebates required you to remember to ask for it each month before a certain date. Rebate deals are better when automatically deducted from the rent; otherwise, it could imply hoping not all rebates are remembered and redeemed. The customer service at Westchester is outstanding even when clearing out of the unit. They dont go around with a white glove, test equipment, highly, trained inspectors, magnifying glass, etc. They look for cleanliness and no obvious damage. They were fair in returning the deposit in a reasonable time.Overall, my experience with Westchester was very good. I would recommend it to anyone.By the way, its within 15 minutes to the East side of Manhattan where Kansas State University, Aggieville, malls and restaurants are located.
Good apartments but just if they could reduce their prices a little bit
Ive just recently moved into these apartments. Im a college student, and they are a little on the higher end of someones budget if youre in school, no pets are allowed from what I understood. There may be a an extra fee for having them Im not sure. However, you will find that a greater number of the people renting here, are not here for school. This means less noise, and partying going on since its on the other side of town/aggievile. Over all Im happy with the way Ive been helped, at the front desk and the neighbors are pretty nice. Sorry for the chapter book guys/gals, but I hope this helps! (:
One of the worst places I have ever lived. Would not recommend anyone to live here and am looking forward to the day my lease is up
Westchester Park Apartments is by no means a bad apartment complex. It is simply a mediocre one and having visited many of the other apartment complexes in the area it is simply average and you overpay by a little bit. There are newer better apartment complexes being built to the west.ProsThe management staff is top notch. They will try to help you whenever they can and they do want to make sure that your needs are met. The only issue is that they do not have as much to work with amenity wise. The location is quiet in a college town that is key. Especially if you are military and you go to work at 530There is a gym which is good for cardio in the winter but that is it. It is a very bare bones gym.Maintenance staff is very professional and quick. They will occasionally make a small mistake like after they fixed my water heater they forgot to turn it back on but it took them less than a day to fix it so I can’t really complain.ConsThe laundry facilities here are simply terrible. I have been using the laundromat or my fiance’s machines for about 6 months because I feel the ones the apartment provides are that bad. They don’t use coins for their machines they use a card system which you prepay. Which gets annoying because if you lose your card or it is stolen. You are out of luck you have to pay $25 bucks to get a new card and you lose whatever money was on the account. Also the front office has trouble getting you that new card. I went three separate times in three separate weeks to get a new card and either the system was down or they had to take a check and can’t take cash (which they charge you extra if you pay your rent by check so I have no clue why they take checks at all). Also when the machines do work the dryers take two iterations to even get your clothes dry and the washers don’t really get the clothes that clean. The layout of the apartment and the kitchen is a little dated. And my carpet had a lot of stains on it when I moved in. It was noted on my initial walkthrough, but I was told they would be replaced as soon I moved out. So your experience might differPrice, while I am not going to plug the other apartments because I have not lived there. There are comparable apartments that are newer and have better amenities like an apartment washer dryer, covered parking, better gym, and etc. It can all be paid for by your BAH but ;you don’t get as much of a bang for your buck as you should.Conclusion- Overall it is not a bad apartment complex for either military or grad students. There are better options in Manhattan but if you need a place it could be a lot worse. Also use the laundromat around the corner it is literally a quarter of a mile away.
