So happy with renting here. Rented two kayaks for three hours. The staff is friendly, and you can tell they love all things paddle and water. We went through Starweather Creek for a ways to about Washington Memorial Park. Great weather, water was calm and we got some nature in, lots of turtles, birds and otters.

We reserved our kayaks the night before. The process was quick and easy. When we arrived the next morning our boats were ready and the young man at the counter was friendly and able to answer my questions about the lake. He got us on our way without a hitch. There was a nice little beach, restrooms and a beer garden. Great experience.

Edit: the owner replied and said that they had not updated google hours so I changed my review from one to 3 stars because I dont want to knock a local business for a simple mistake like that. Appreciate the quick response, we will try you again sometime hopefully!NOT OPEN at posted hours. We were there with my out-of-state sister to go kayaking and we didnt get to. They had a sign posted saying they were closed due to weather, but the weather is 77 F, the lake is clear as glass, and there is a perfect forecast today.

Great experience. The staff was super accommodating, got us out in the tubes on time, explained everything, the tubes were great, and we had an amazing time at the sandbar. The current and wine were a bit string for us so we called him and he came to pick us up with the boat. Highly recommended!

Renting from Olbrich Park was so easy!! The staff was attentive and friendly and had great recommendations for your paddle. Close to stark weather creek which is a much more calm paddle that out on the lake but the lake was also not too bad either. 10/10 would recommend

Great seamless service to get out on the water. When there was potential for weather complications I got a call with a heads up and options to change times or risk it. Definitely felt like they wanted me to enjoy the time as much as I did.

Olbrich boat rentals are such a gem in Madison!!! Professional & reliable customer service with zero complications! I absolutely love that we have this option in Madison!! It feels like a vacation, paddling and swimming in the middle of Lake Monona! Absolutely epic!! I only wish that Rutabaga still rented boats from their Monona location.

My husband, 9 yo son and I had a fantastic time paddling on the lake and Starkweather Creek! Customer service was SUPER! The folks working at the desk and on the shore were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were very thankful for the recommendation to paddle up the creek as it was much calmer than the choppy lake. We saw tons of wildlife - ducks, turtles, birds, even a heron up close. After our paddle, we stopped for a tasty beverage at the bier garten. Well be back for sure!

Not as busy as Brittingham Boats by a long shot, so they were able to accommodate when we didn’t have a reservation! Equipment was in great shape and easy to use and return.

Very easy: booked online, showed up on time and was showed a boat. Grabbed the boat and had fun paddling on the lake and the creek.

The rental experience was very smooth and easy, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint was that the beach was so muddy and thick with stinky, decaying seaweed that it was impossible to launch without getting our feet and therefore the inside of the boat, covered with it. I would love to see a small path cleared off for people to launch from.

Rented kayaks at Olbrich a few times this year. Always easy and always have a good time. Only suggestion would be a little more information from the worked on routes, how long it generally takes to get to different locations, etc. I am a relatively decent kayaker but see a lot of other folks out there who seem to be struggling a bit. Maybe just quick convo about getting to the Yahara, or heading down Starkweather and what to expect.

What a beautiful place to paddle board! Booked online and there was plenty of options for equipment and times available. All staff was very friendly and helpful while also maintaining social distancing. Check in was quick and easy and returning items was clearly organized and labeled so dirty items can be cleaned between uses. What a great streamlined system!! I will definitely be back.

My friend and I were able to book a tandem kayak on the same day we called in to see about availability. The building is clean and has great restrooms and a beirgarden there too. The staff was friendly and helpful as well as the paddles, life vests, and kayaks were well cared for. The price was very reasonable for an hour.

Very pleased with entire experience. Equipment use was explained prior to going out on the water, sanitized, restrooms were available, they had extra plastic bags for cell phone, and the views were awesome! Great price for 2 person kayak, highly recommend.

Great experience, kayaks were in good condition. Friendly staff let us know that we could paddle to a beach across the bay, where we stopped for a hamburger and ice cream sundae. Perfect day. Also, found the Biergarten that I came back to the night after with some friends to watch the sunset. Awesome all around!

My first time Kayaking and had an awesome experience! I had so many questions since it was my first time and didnt know what to expect and after calling so many different places I ended deciding at Olbrich Park Boat Rentals. The main reason I chose this place was because of Rebecca who is one of staff members who works there, she was so friendly and patient with me. The location is beautiful and the price was perfect! In addition we ended up riding the electric bikes right after, which was really fun. To end our day we got some delicious sandwiches from Stalzys Deli which really close by! I will definitely be back again!!

A great way to take advantage of our beautiful Madison lakes. Enforcement of their masks on land policy (which we greatly appreciate) would have bumped my review up to 5 stars. It appears they spray down their boats, but having them all crowded on the beach makes it near impossible to stay physically apart from the next paddlers headed out.

Our second visit to Olbrich Park Boat Rentals was as much fun as the first. The staff was friendly and helpful and we had a great time. Our party used both single and double kayaks and they worked great. Thank you! Well be back:)

They have great kayak rentals (canoes too, I personally havent tried the canoes), and the perfect location; the area is right in full view of downtown Madison and the Capitol on lake Monona, but the rental area is off to the right of the railroad tracks (if facing away from the city)in an inlet with shallower, much much calmer water. Perfect if youre a beginner, have kids, or just want a more quiet experience. They never seem to be out of rentals, even on busy days, which is nice. In fact, my husband and I came across the place because we had tried two other rental locations that had no vacant boats, and this place did. The employees are friendly and helpful, and the place also offers beverages, waterproof cellphone bags, sunscreen, and other essentials for some time on the water.I highly recommend this place!
