Nice little boat rental place. Reasonable prices. Staff is very helpful for 1st timers. Even offered me assistance getting in and out of my kayak! Great location to start because the water is calm.

Great place to rent stand up paddleboards, kayaks and more. Great staff, lots of selection of rentals and the best lake scenery in the Midwest. Just try to go on a non-peak time. Summer weekends with great weather sell out fast!

Brittingham Boats offers a variety of boat rentals, including kayaks and canoes. You can use this company to get onto Lake Monona. The rate for canoes was $18 for a 1 hour rental and $10 more for each hour. They were giving out Clif Bars on the day we went, which was a nice treat. Great place to rent from, and the canoe ride on Lake Monona was relaxing with a wonderful view.

We had a reservations for a double kayak and were quickly attended to, were in the water quickly, and out in the bay in no time. The bay wasnt in great shape, but thats the citys issue. We will head out to the lake next time. Will definitely be back out again!

Pleasant service, seamless process. It was not a busy day but we still ended up with a boat that needed maintenance. overall, euipment could be better maintained, but we had a very enjoyable experience.

Ive been going to Brittingham for years and never had a bad experience. I recently double-booked on accident, and they were great about refunding me and getting things sorted out. The staff has always been super friendly, and I love that they allow my dog on the crafts!

One of my favorite places. The staff is friendly and helpful - and nonjudgmental when I clumsily exit my kayak at the end of my paddle :) COVID procedures are in place which makes it feel safe but not intrusive on the fun. Equipment is always clean and in great condition. I come here all the time and cannot say enough good things about Brittingham Boats.

It was our first time renting paddle boards from Brittingham Boats and the staff was all so great! My 12 year old son and I spent an hour paddling around Lake Monona on Labor Day and has a great time.

Very easy to rent. The staff was friendly and good with kids to help them find paddles and life jackets. We rented the megaladon 6 person SUP and paddled around the bridges and went to bernies beach for a few quick swim. Very fun and pleasant way to spend the morning in town.

Worth the $18! It was so relaxing to just kayak and enjoy the day. When you get there, the staff checks you in. The you get your paddle and life jacket. lol They just get your kayak ready :) lots of social distancing. For a firs time kayaker, it was SUPER easy. You will not tip over!

Booked online 24 hours ago. Got to the front desk to check in and was told that we wouldn’t be able to go on the water because they didn’t actually have the SUP that we rented, which was listed on their website, and they didn’t have any other SUPs available for us to use. They offered to reschedule or refund our money (we opted for a refund) but I feel like a call or an email would have at least given us a chance to find somewhere else to go today. I would avoid this place.

I loved it. They even plant tomatoes,purple beans, green beans and peas for you to harvest so you can enjoy them! Such a great place to visit. We traveled from Greenwood and Fort Wayne. We will definitely come back. The paddle boats were awesome!

We rented two tandem kayaks over the Labor Day weekend and our family had a wonderful time! The staff was friendly, courteous and answered all of my questions (including which kayak to rent for a newbie!). The check in process was easy, both online and in person, and the boats and equipment were in good shape. We paddled all around the areas that were recommended to us and enjoyed the beautiful day. I am holding them personally responsible for the fact that I have survived the COVID-19 quarantine and did not lose my mind because I could get out on the water every day!Priceless!

Very friendly and helpful staff

We kayaked here last weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful and we had a great time. The only reason Im not giving this five stars is because our kayak had a rubber edging piece that was almost completely off, so the hard edge dug into my thighs during the entire paddle. I also couldnt find any foot pedals. Maybe we just got the one tandem kayak that needed a little TLC. But Id definitely return.

The staff there were very friendly and knowledgeable. They provide free energy bars too! The day we went was quite windy but it didnt ruin any fun. Reasonable price and you can see beautiful scenery!

We really enjoyed Brittingham boats! Our first trip we rented kayaks my son had his own my daughter and I had a tandem one. We went out onto Lake Monona it was just calm and beautiful great morning the second time we rented stand up paddle boards but wasn’t Brittingham boats fault but the bay was really wavy and it was really windy and we were supposed to do two hours but only did one hour because of the wind! They did refund our money for the other hour because it was wasn’t our fault or their fault that it was that windy but we thoroughly enjoyed it and will do it again soon! I highly recommend it!

I have been renting all summer; my 4-year old and I love it! The staff is great and the process is super smooth. Bummed I only just started this year, but can’t wait for next season! 👍🏼

Im pregnant and had a toddler along for this past trip to Brittingham Boats and even being in a very cautious high risk group, they made be feel safe and comfortable every step of the way! We loved it here so much that weve visited twice in one week. Each time the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Masks were worn by all and I was confident that all items we needed were cleaned prior to us using them. I have a feeling well be back often!

We toyed around with the idea of using your paddle boats as we were worried about our 3 yr old complaining the whole time. We went ahead and paid the fee only being able to use the boat for a half our. The young man was extremely nice and gave us a full refund when he didnt have to. Because of his great customer service we will be back.

Really easy hands-off process in COVID times. Website check-in was easy and they did well at keeping boaters distant from one another. All staff were wearing masks and were still very helpful in getting us on the water!

I had the nicest afternoon of the summer on a kayak, and was pleased by how clean everything was. This is my favorite park anywhere, the bay is lovely and I plan to go out often this summer! The staff was super helpful when I took my kayak, and is in general extremely nice -- eg today I was just on a walk with my crippled dog, and she walked a LONG way from her stroller and then totally ran out of steam. A guy working there offered her water, and then agreed to hang onto her while I went to retrieve her stroller -- it would have been impossible to get home without help, so we were extremely grateful.

Visited Madison from Chicago on July 4th weekend and was looking for a fun daytime activity with some friends. Local sage Ben Lester tipped me off to Brittingham Boats. What a great rec! Great staff, good canoe and kayak rentals, and all for a reasonable price. Make sure to reserve in advance, and dont forget sunscreen!

We had a great time. we rented a kayak and stand up paddle board. i didnt know what i was doing at all, first time user, and the staff was super friendly and very accommodating with directing my husband and i with where to go, what to grab, and how to maneuver. we were very appreciative for the kindness while we were learning. highly recommend madison boat company!

Brittingham Boats is the best! Checking in is speedy and I was able to request a racing paddle board so I could challenge my friends.

Excellent selection of paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and pedal boats. But what really shines here is the service and help from the staff. They have literally stacks and stacks of stand up paddleboards including large buoyant ones for beginners and child sizes. Check out their calendar for the many special events like full moon paddles, ice cream socials, etc.
