I get the concern of the excessive heat and/ or other weather issues in the context of the safety of the workers/ drivers to miss a pick up on a given day. I would never ask workers to jeopardize their own safety to do this necessary work. But, at least schedule a pick up later in the week or the following day and not just skip a whole week for a pick up. It seems they dont have the capacity to do make up days in a more appropriate timely matter. Especially in this heat, having garbage sit out for two weeks is simply unsanitary and disgusting. This has happened several times in the past years, including with recycle (usually every 2 weeks service) that ended up coming 4 weeks later (imagine a months worth of recycle in this day of amazon deliveries!). Republic needs to find a way to make up missed days in more timely matter (next day or same week) rather than skipping a whole week. The inability to do this is cheap of the company, poor customer care, and unacceptable.

I spoke to Courtney regarding the possibility of providing my elderly parents with the option of not having to haul their garbage & recycle cans out to their curb. My Dad had fallen pushing his cans out so I was hoping for a solution. Courtney drove over for an inspection that day. “Pack out” service was approved with no fee & an exchange for new cans was provided. I am beyond grateful for Courtney & Lynnwood Republic Services for providing this amazing customer service for my folks. Thank you so much for your service & compassion.

I wish they are better... Constantly misses or improperly does pickups. EVERYTIME I have scheduled an additional pickup because they missed or improperly provided service, it gets missed again. Ill call for a status and get some explanation and runaround, which eventually leads to my trash not getting picked up. Ill have to wait for their normal route to get trash picked up. This is happened to me at least a dozen times already between recycle and regular trash in the last two years. The amount of times I have to stress because I dont have the space for trash because they leave my bin more than half full. If only there are other options.

Republic Services is our designated household waste removal company. On Monday Nov 2, 2020 their driver picked up the waste for the other two houses in our group but left mine. The second driver did pickup my recycle. I called Republic early and was told that the dispatcher would notify the driver and they would be back to pick it up. Then later in the day, their truck came back by picking up the opposite side of our street, but again did not pickup my waste. So I called again and was told to leave the can out on the street and it would be picked up by 6:15 PM on Tuesday. Guess what, that pickup never happened. I attempted to log into their web site in order to follow-up and the site is having problems. All in all, very poor customer service. Dont promise things that you have no intention of following through on.

Ive lived in Edmonds for a couple months now and love the service and responsiveness of Republic Services. They mixed up one of my bin pickups once, but they were quick to correct the issue when I called and the folks on the other line are super nice. Im not sure why they get so much hate here, yall realize this is a relatively cheap public service and they support a massive, densely populated area, right? For the rates they charge and the overall quality of service, its well worth it. They also offer a huge variety of recycling services, which you dont get in many cities.My favorite part is that we as residents can get large paper yard waste bags picked up for free on Compost weeks (every other week), you just put them next to your regular compost bin. I think the limit is 7 yard waste bags on pickup days, which is just amazing.

If I could give this company a no star rating o would. I have used them in other states with same repeated bad service. Customer service line everyone is rude and disrespectful. Had an issue this last holiday weekend when I pulled up their national observed holiday list of their website. So we set trash out a day late, due to the fact their national website stated the observance of Memorial Day. To find out at 630 in the morning they where actually picking up. When calling them to resolve was told it was my fault, that I was in the wrong. Then charged me to pick up the load. No where on there website did it say state specific for observed holidays. They should honor Memorial Day nationwide and not just where they choose. Then come home today to a missing can! Horrible. Would have a different service provider but can’t!!!!

Their customer service solution to everything is, Well take a double load for free next time. This is useless. The reason I have garbage service is to remove garbage from my property. I do not want to store garbage for a week, just because they are too lazy to fix their own mistakes. I do not have capacity to store the garbage they were supposed to take for another week.Sending a truck to fix their mistake by picking up garbage that they missed would cost them money, so they never, ever do this under any circumstances. This is extremely lazy customer service, and it does not solve anything. Nothing is ever their fault, and nothing is ever their responsibility. Many, many times I have stored garbage an extra week, or yard waste an extra two weeks, because of a mistake they made.They do not collect garbage when it snows.

Over the years weve lived here, our trash bin has seen a lot of abuse from careless workers. Weve come home many days to find our bin in the street, toppled over. As result it has several holes (probably from getting thrown or hit by cars since its been left in the street).

They are never consistent or on schedule, leaving the 3 dumpsters in our complex to overflow. Their consultant was no help and was rude and disrespectful. Its baffling a company with such awful customer service and work ethic remains in business. No respect for the people who keep their doors open, or for the environment their laziness/negligence litters.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Very poor customer service. Weve had multiple missed pickups without any follow-up to my complaints. Ive even gotten multiple written notes from the workers asking me to put my cans on the opposite side of the street or they wont pick up my cans. I wish there was another option for garbage pickup in Edmonds.

I recently purchased a house in Lynnwood and it took 8 weeks for us to receive our trash can. Each week I called they told me it would be there the following week rather than giving me an accurate date, which made it difficult to plan. I was also told multiple times that I would not be charged for trash services yet they still billed me for a service I didnt use.

I am beyond disappointed in their service. There have been two times they skipped our trash/recycling all together (and yes we were up to date on payments) & just this last recycling they didnt pick up any of it and I found it dumped in our ditch. By the time I picked it all up the bin was full again. I called to complain and gain a solution and they responded sorry must have been the wind even though I went on to explain I had left several times that morning noticing no excessive wind and the lid was closed. Even on the slim chance it was the wind, why in the world would you leave it in a ditch in our front yard. Completely unacceptable.

I mistakenly left my small white wastepaper basket in the big blue recycle container. Apparently it was too much to take it out and drop it on the ground. So I have to wait two weeks to have it taken. The container is heavy and will be worse. My octogenarian husband cannot do the hauling any more. I am not a difficult customer so a little gesture would have been nice.

Terrible service. Skipped garbage pickup for my unit only (somehow my other neighbors didnt have this issue) so I requested a pickup for the next week. A customer service rep emailed me and said they would come in the next couple of days and they never showed up. Consistency and follow through is all Im looking for.

If I could leave negative stars I would. I manage an apartment community in Edmonds, WA and every single week for the past 7 months theyve missed either our trash pickup or recycle. Sometimes both! I call the day of the scheduled pickup or the day after, and they just say oh our schedule is backed up. With no other explanation. They refuse to offer credits or reimbursements when they miss a pickup. They are flat out STEALING by insisting customers pay the full invoiced amount when were not actually receiving the service that we signed up for. Unfortunately Republic Services is currently the only waste company that is available in Edmonds, WA so theyve been able to get away with this abhorrent behavior. Im complaining to the city and begging Waste Management to pick up my propertys trash. Not to mention now that weve had consistently overfilled dumpsters with lids that wont shut, we now have a pest problem that we have to pay to get rid of. So not only is this awful and dishonest company stealing our money, theyre also costing us much more than what they charge.

I called their customer service to ask questions about a discrepancy I had on my bill. I spoke to Doreen to which she had no real answers to any of my questions and instead gave me a generic and ambiguous answer. She told me she would have a supervisor call me and then hung up on me. Super sad this is the only pickup option we have. Doreen needs customer service training. :)

So far, my experiences with Rebublic are as follows:- the first time I called to set up service with them, they couldnt find our house and told us to call Waste Management instead, who I had already talked to and could find our house, just didnt service our area. Second time I called and expressed my annoyance, they found it right away- no cans our first week of pickup, no one bothered to call or email me to tell me where they were, or how to put garbage out properly without cans- second week of pickup, still no cans, but I had called and confirmed how to put stuff out without. They took the garbage, but ignored our recycling, and left a note calling it garbage and telling us to put it on a can,- terrible office hours, closing at 5:00 on weekdays and closed on weekends. Its a pain to even call them about anythingWe have been in our new home for 5 weeks, and at this point Im considering just doing dump runs. If we dont get our cans by next recycling pickup date, I WILL be cancelling our service. Absolutely dreadful so far.

So far of all the companies one needs to communicate with when setting up a new home, Republic services has disappointed time and time again. Theyve promised cans to the house for weeks. They havent picked up garbage although were paying for it. Waiting on hold for 20 minutes plus each time Ive called has been par for the course. When I have spoken with Republic, their workers seem utterly confused about setting up service. Its awful.

MISSED PICKING UP ON WHOLE OUR STREET IN EDMONDS---AGAIN! Were fed up. When we complain were told it will be picked up tomorrow but we wind up waiting until the next scheduled pickup day. The last time it was snowy and supposedly the trucks could not make it. This time, the weather is fine and our garbage is rotting. Its time for another company.

I have a poor experience with this company. I had moved out of a rental property and they sent a bill to collections for months after my lease ended. I emailed them proof that I didnt live there anymore. I will be pursuing a civil suit.

Theyre fine when they come, but cancel whenever a flake falls, even though 2-wheel passenger cars are having no trouble driving the slushy streets. The yard waste truck even made it out the last two times the garbage truck cancelled. Time to look for a new company in LFP.

I live with my daughter on 81st pl w in Edmonds, The gentleman that has the job to empty our garbage cans really needs to learn some customer service.We have gone out there so many times to move our can out if cars are in the way to help him out. I have gone out myself and said good morning to him and all he can do is scowl .I keep telling myself this is the last time but we keep helping him.I hope some day he can break a smile. No Christmas card for him, :(

When ones sole purpose of business is using vechiles to pick up trash, recycle, compost....wouldnt you invest in utility vechiles that can drive in any weather.Double pick up at no charge is not a solution. My bins dont hold double the trash.

These guys miss a pickup once a month. I have to call multiple times to get them to do the job theyre getting paid for. They often fail to pick up even after Ive called and had them send out another truck. Ive filed complaints twice and asked for a manager to call me back. They never do. This worthless, dishonest, craptastic company deserves every 1 star rating theyve been given. If a class-action lawsuit is opened, you can be damn sure Ill be joining in.

I am a senior citizen, thay told me garbage would be $5 a month, I said OK. My bill came to over $40 for 3 months.Thay dont tell you their is no discount on recycling.I got conned into having to pay 3 times the price I was quoted! THAY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SENIOR CITIZENS !!! We have received increasingly worse service over the last year after having their service for years. After calling and promising pickups after forgetting, our street how has to call more often than not. They have never called back in response to a phone call complaint (after saying they would) nor have offered any account credits. They unfortunately have a stranglehold on our community for this service but I would NOT recommend them to any neighborhood.

I came trying to leave a 1 star review because of the terrible customer service and rudeness. They over charged me for 2 service cycles before I realized and when I asked for a refund they told me it would take 20 days. When I asked to speak with a supervisor they transferred me and hung up. I called back and the office was unhelpful and left me hanging. Disappointed this is my only option for service :(

Skipped recycle pickup AGAIN. We have lived here for 4 years, and this happens regularly. They miss our 2x/month recycle pick up and all of the cans in our neighborhood sit on the street for over a week, piled high with trash waiting to be picked up. Meanwhile, people must fill the cans so full they cant close, and the crows come and help themselves, littering the roads with trash that should have been emptied already. I plan to complain to the city about their contract with Republic. Not only is it frustrating for residents to be denied the service they pay for and still have nowhere to put their trash, but the litter on our streets due to this problem is OUT. OF. CONTROL. If the city does not listen, I will simply get more residents from the community behind me. This needs to be dealt with. How can we claim to care about the planet and allow our garbage/recycling services to behave this way with no accountability?

This company is terrible. We have a 16 unit condo and they have forgotten to pick up our recycling many times! Management needs to go as NOTHING has been done to fix this problem and we are sick and tired of calling them. (This has gone on for almost a year.)

My experience is they collect my garbage and other containers as Id expect. These folks work long hours and are on the road a lot and early. Sometimes they miss our small section of the road. 98% of the time they get it right.

The secret to getting good service from Republic is to understand that when you call their number, you are getting a customer care center in Seattle, not the operations center in Lynnwood. 2 out of 3 of my interactions with the Seattle customer care center were what I would call barely adequate. Reps seemed to have a hard time with English and I wasnt sure they knew what they were doing (Sherry, however, was great). This resulted in miscommunications and my trash bin being taken, leaving me without one for nearly a week. HOWEVER: when I made contact in person with the crew at the Lynnwood operations center, they were EXCELLENT! Real human beings taking an invested interest in my problem. They got me the container I needed within 20 minutes or so, while conversing about the ins and outs of the garbage business. I was truly so impressed with Kris, Chris, Steve, and one other guy whose name I forgot (sorry!), that I want to come back with donuts or something. So, in a nutshell, Republic seems to have some issues it needs to address at the Seattle customer center with regards to training and staffing, but the folks down in the trenches in Lynnwood doing the dirty work get two thumbs up from me. For this reason, Im giving 5 stars. Thanks, guys!

Republic dumped my garbage can this morning and when I went out to put the can away I noticed there was garbage left in the can. I called Republics customer service and Doreen argued with me over the phone about the garbage that was left in the can. Basically they can come out again, but it will be an extra charge. Im NOT satisfied at all, but what other choices / companies are there for weekly garbage service pick up?👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼so I guess they dont have to practice or provide good customer service🤔

I called to have my dumpster replaced because the top had been damaged by rodents and they brought me a smaller dumpster and said we are sorry we do not offer the size you had. I asked how about fixing the one you took away and they said they could not do that. So I am stuck with a smaller dumpster and still hit or miss service.
