I have been here about two years and I have experienced almost every type of infestation their is. First roaches and now gnats and flys. We pay for pest control every month “but have to beg to be put on a list to have our apartments sprayed”, we pay for the dumpster that sits in the back corner of the complex (although we have no say on its positioning). I most recently suffered property damage due to a bursted pipe upstairs, that they failed to assess immediately. I just purchased a new garbage can that was ruined by the downpour also I had to sleep, cook, and walk around in a mask for almost 120 hours in my own apartment. Then to turn around and pay 890$ in rent with nothing taken off for my damages & trauma…. The rent is not worth the nuisances that are neglected by Venterra rent office. If you are considering something nice, look past this establishment and please spend your money elsewhere.
My wife, daughter and I lived at the metropolitan for four years and we loved living here. Keith is an excellent manager and he went above and beyond to resolve any issues that we had. Thank you Keith.
The Metropolitan Apartments are located at a great location close to grocery stores, gas stations, hospitals, and restaurants. The maintenance crew is wonderful here. Quick response, very friendly and professional. The leasing manager is awesome. He is always there to help, and find solutions to make things better . Plus, you can have up to 3 pets, which you won’t find at too many other places.Overall a good place to live !
My husband and I moved to Louisville last December and it was our first time living together. Metropolitan has been an amazing first home. The staff is top notch. Whenever there was an issue it was dealt with quickly. My husband and I are unfortunately moving out of the city to get a bigger place to start a family. If we could take the whole staff with us we would. Will 110% recommend Metropolitan Apartments.
I just moved to Louisville in July, first time living on my own, and I’m so happy here. The management is awesome; super responsive and super sweet. They really care! The maintenance staff is equally as great. They always come as quick as they can and are incredibly nice! It’s also in a great location; super close to anything, really. This is a great place to start out on your own and I’m so glad I chose the Metropolitan!
Great place to to live! This community is only a 10-15 minute drive from any area in the city of Louisville. Very nice units but the walls are thin. If the owners added spray foam insulation to block the noise from neighboring units it would be the perfect place to live. However, the low cost rent and high end finishes definitely help make up for it.
We had roaches for months, the ice maker didn’t get fixed the ENTIRE time we lived there, the neighbors were rude, loud, and nasty to us, my friends apartment had mold in the bathroom, and the water was constantly shut off with short notice. The door to our building was constantly broken so bugs would get in all the time. It looks glued together and the space and lack of amenities is not worth the price of living there. Highly recommend taking the amount you spend here and finding somewhere else.
I relocated to KY from WI Jan 2021 & rented a 2 bedroom here site unseen, I was nervous about moving forward but the units you see on their website is exactly what youre getting. The smart features are nice I can adjust my thermostat & lock / unlock my front door from the app. I also connected it to my Google home mini easily. Evan & Keith were helpful throughout the entire process answering all my questions from afar. Evan even helped me with some of my moving boxes while moving in. Neighbors are friendly. Location is great. Free gym membership is a plus. I was sceptical because I saw reviews that said the walls are thin but I cant hear a thing. & reviews regarding the old management had me second guessing, Im not sure what the old management was like but this new management is great!!! I had a few minor concerns upon move in because Im rather picky, & they sent maintenance out to address all my concerns ASAP! Overall the unit was cleaned thoroughly.
The apartments are great: granite countertops and brushed-nickel fixtures are nice and good-looking. The complex is very pet friendly, including having a fenced-in dog park. I’ve always felt safe here. People are friendly, but also courteous and give you privacy. The patio area is very nice. Definitely check it out!
All in all, my experience at the metropolitan has been better than anticipated. With moving in site unseen I was incredibly anxious about what I was going to walk into. However, Maintenance and management are very quick to respond with any questions or concerns. Neighbors are usually friendly and there are lots of people with pets! My only issue with the complex thus far is how noisy the people around me can be. Conversations, music, televisions, dogs running, etc. are very easy to hear to the apartment immediately around you.
So the management in these apartments are amazing and the apartments themselves are great. My only complaint is the walls which can seem very thin at times. HOWEVER, the majority of the problems arise from the neighbors around you. My advice if you live here get freindly with the neighbors around your unit and set some kind of guidelines or expectations of noise before you move in. Don’t be the person making noise at 11am if your neighbors are trying to sleep. Be respectful and friendly to the people around you and this apartment could be a great place to live. Management is willing to help any way possible and maintenance is always on time and promptly handling issues. That is why I gave this place 5 stars they however cannot control who you live around that is up to the community (you) to handle neighborly affairs after hours. Management is aware the walls are thin but as stated being respectful such problems can be overlooked and resolved.
These people really care. They are friendly and nice. Every problem I have had has been taken care of fast. And when I call the office with a question they always call me back fast and answer all my questions.
Living here has been a great experience! Keith is always a big help& very friendly. Very nice apartments overall& they take care of us here! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new home.
I love these apartments. Keith the office manager is so kind and helpful. Every experience I have had from talking on the phone with Keith before putting in my application to now having lived here for a little over a month or so has been beyond amazing. This is the best place I have ever lived.
I live there for almost two years I love this place they are very nice and if you have any problems they are ready to help you one day my light got off until they cam and fixed it to me at 3 am in the morning. Thank you so much. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍metropolitan
It was a little overpriced for the lack of help, parking, space and wall thickness.Still remember staying up for nights because the above neighbors were loud, calling the on site officer and waking 2hrs for work to get a message they were gonna check it out in the next hour... Lol. But if you got the cash and can deal with the rest its a nice place
We just moved in a few months ago but we love it here! the management is super nice and handle things quickly, its a quiet complex, its very pet friendly, and the apartments are pretty cute!
I love this property I have been here for 5yrs. The office staff is amazing and if you need maintenance things are fixed the same day..I would not live any where else.
Both Cindy and Keith are awesome. Best apartment complex. Thanks for all you do.
I love my apartment! The new management is outstanding! They will go above and beyond to make sure their residents are happy. The maintenance crew are always walking around the community to make sure it is clean and their response time is amazing! Whenever there was a problem in my apartment it was fixed right away. Another bonus is that there are actually courtesy officers who live here and patrol the area. I would definitely recommend these apartments.
Office and maintenance staff are great. I have lived in the community through different management and this is by far the best!
Wonderful place to live. Renovated and clean apartments. Great community and awesome management!!
I moved on November 24 last month and good place and nice people the i meet two guys in the office both is nice they know how the working was people keep up doing guys and my wash broke was secend week and they bring new one after 4day this is the best apartment i see in from 11 years i dont see like this the metropolitan menagement god please u all u have 5start from me and my family >
I was just looking for an apartment to move in and these seem like a nice community for families
Theses apartments are ghetto. Rent cost way to much then what it’s worth, it’s a different price every month. My boyfriends car was STOLEN. Yeah.... stolen from the parking lot. I’ve witnessed a lot of domestic violence every time I come here. I recommend my grandmother to live here because 3 years ago when I lived here it was a great property. But now I regret showing her these apartments and she regrets even signing a lease. The office staff is nice. But just these apartments as a whole. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Been a resident for 3 years at The Metropolitan Apartments Louisville Kentucky. Overall, it’s has a pleasant experience.
I have had a great experience with having my very first apartment here. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. Cindy always makes things easy. If you have questions she is there to help. The maintenance crew is the beat around! Holly and Willy always have a smile and are very good at what they do.I was only here a year and I have no complaints. Moving only because I need a bigger place. Wish there was a 3 bedroom. I am nervous about moving out and making sure everything is on point before I go.
Very nice little apartment community. The people who work here and very nice and very responsive to all my issues. Ive put in several maintenance requests for little things since living here and everything was fixed within 48 hours of my request. Workers are always seen around maintaining the property. Having a dog park and nice courtyards to walk in are great for those with animals. Nice appliances and washer/dryer provided in unit. Very very pet friendly. My only complaint are the people who live here. Many do not leash their dogs and let them run about and dont bag dog waste. Dogs who are aggressive are let into the dog park making it to where I cannot brings my socialized dog inside to play. Many people use the dog park as their own yard and dont even go in it themselves and sit at the picnic tables 20 feet from the dog park. Young kids are often unsupervised outside. Other than that Im having a great experience here! You can also hear everything from residents around you. The walls are EXTREMELY thin.
The Metropolitan team is always very friendly and helpful. Cindy and Keith, are always updated on every detail of the property to help in any matter. Also, the maintenance crew are really efficient and professional, giving a good quality service.
The Metropolitan Homes are great. I have been here for 1 year now, and have had absolutely no concerns, nor problems. My only advice is lowering the rent especially with the amount of square ft, with no community amenities. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend living here!
Super nice and quick to respond! Thanks for taking care of me !!
We had a wonderful move in experience with Whitney from the office. As soon as she stopped working there, the entire complex went downhill. Late maintenance fixes, they shut off the water often with very little notice, and there is constant construction (one time right outside our 1st floor window without any notice). Our dog destroyed our blinds twice, the first time we paid $50 to replace them and the second time they charged us $75. When I inquired as to why, the manager told us they previously charged the $50 because that’s “what they thought it should cost” and maintenance had to correct her. Well 4 days after I paid (they promise maintenance requests will be filled in 48 hours), they finally fixed the blinds and refunded me $25 for the wait.On top of poor management, they will literally let anyone live there. People screaming at each other in the courtyard, the smell of weed everywhere, domestic violence above and next door to our apartment. We had to call the cops on our old neighbors because it sounded like they were hitting their children. 3 people were shot across the street. Stay far away from this complex and this area!
I love living here its so peaceful and quiet and the two ladies that work in the rent office is outstanding they seen how excited I was about about becoming a new Grandma and they brought me the best gift ever they had a t-shirt and matching oneies made for me and my grandson and a plaque with Grandmas house EST. 2019 and a bassinet thank you so much and I am so blessed to have two wonderful ladies with big hearts as my landlords you never what people are going through but God is still at work and you two ladies are living proof of that thank you again words cant express how you all touched me or how thankful I am 😇😇😇
Balconies outside the buildings are falling and took months of asking and weeks of calling for the complex to begin fixing them. Maintenance men will also enter your apartment on occasion with NO notice. Also the maintenance men that are currently here barely speak English. Explaining problems to them in English it frustrating and almost impossible. I understand some Spanish, though I cannot speak it, and the maintenance men will insult you if they think you cant understand them. Also the complex had a HUGE bug problem a few months into our lease which they tried to blame on me and my roommate.
Do not get scammed.Do not get scammed. You will need to hire an attorney if you move into this apartment complex.Rent should never vary from month to month. When a landlord charges you a different rental amount every month and cant explain what the extra charges are in your monthly rent, it sounds as if that extra cash they are squeezing out of you is being pocketed.Do not get scammed. Rent should Never vary from month to month. And never pay lg&e every month and allow and apartment complex to add lights and gas to your additional fees. Either utilities are included or they arent.
When we first moved here 2 years ago, The Metropolitan was under different management and it took multiple times for maintenance to attempt to fix our apartments problems. Two months later, Venterra Living took over as new management. The maintenance crew have fulfilled our work orders at a fast pace and are also great people to talk to and our toddlers love seeing them! The leasing consultant has changed a couple of times, but each time we still have a good relationship with whomever the consultant is. The propertys manager, is also great! She is helpful and understanding to our familys needs and concerns when there are issues. The only issue we have is that we wish there was a playground or a pool for the children in the apartment complex. The dog yard is kind of in the middle of our courtyard where kids used to run across when it wasnt built there. And the courtesy officers take a while to respond to neighbor issues, so by the time they do respond, here isnt an issue anymore. All in all, we still love this place! Its a great place that even comes with a washer and dryer which sold us to renting here 2 years ago!
Living here, I hear my neighbors snore as our rooms are connected, waking up everyday to her dog barking, the windows don’t lock securely I was outside and opened the windows from the outside though they were locked on the inside and it’s not just my apartment, Im literally a witness to domestic violence going on upstairs and going on next door, they definitely don’t need to have two story apartments, they should just take the top apartment and make the bottom n top upstairs and downstairs apartment, so that residents don’t have to hear noise from both sides, rent was to be a special deal of 700 but ranges to 785-820 still having to pay lg&e through third party . Office staff is wonderful
Living here has been great. I like I have a washer and dryer in my apartment. The location is excellent!! This is my 2nd year here. I recommend it.
The apartments are nicely remodeled, good taste in design choices. However, when I moved in to my apartment there were numerous problems.I was given a unit that had not been cleaned correctly. There were webs throughout, the refrigerator had stains inside, the bathtub was a mess. I understand they contracted that through another company and thats really the maids fault, but it still shouldnt have happened. The bathtub actually had to be refinished, and that wasnt completed until 3 weeks after I moved in. Similarly, I was given a unit without a washing machine. It is now a month after moving in and I still do not have a washing machine. That is completely unacceptable and ridiculous that they are apparently not capable of getting this fixed. I have been allowed to use the washing machine in another vacant unit but I really shouldnt have to when I am paying to have one in my unit.
We lived at the Metropolitan for 3 long, cramped years. The renovations looked good on the surface, but I’m afraid I cannot recommend the place.Pros:• Nice appliances, especially the washer/dryer stackable• Nice shared patio area in the courtyard with grills• Well-tended landscapingCons:• No pool or fitness center as promised• Mold - we had a fine layer of greenish dust that always formed on everything, probably due to no ventilation in the bathroom• Huge water bugs• NO insulation against sound. We got to hear domestic violence upstairs, loud music, dogs destroying things, kids bouncing balls, and work boots stomping on a daily basis.• The rent was jacked up more and more without providing the promised amenities, because of “industry standard”• Started out with flat fee for utilities (except electric), then went to a 3rd party company who raised the bills drastically• We has a fuse that kept tripping and knocking out our washer (while filled with soggy clothes), and maintenance tried to tell us for weeks that we were overloading the washer (we weren’t). They finally relented and replaced the fuse and everything worked fine afterward.
The apartment was bug infested when we moved in. The office was notified several times since weve been here. Although a lot of the amenities are upgraded the floors are made very cheaply. We have had bubbling of the floors, not once but twice now. We have had problems with the plumbing since we have moved in and although we have called the office and it was addressed, they said it was fixed but it was not. We constantly have to fix things ourselves in order for things to be done right, including the uphill bug problem we have had to constantly set traps and bomb and put out roach bait.
Don’t even consider!!! Horrible, Nasty, Dirty, I can keep going. Renovations are cheaply done. The young girl manager is EXTREMELY rude and has no need to be running the building. If I could give this place a -5 that’s where it would fit on the scale. The hallways stinks and smells molded as the ceilings have tons of water damage. My fridge leaked from day one and everything I’m my fridge would be soaked. After dealing with this nonsense and my fridge going out and losing over $300 plus in groceries they would not deduct any expenses due to the lack of it being on them. I also had water leak under my kitchen sink causing the floor to buckle and then I began to have a huge infestation on roaches. That did it for me. I called and talked to the rude manager as she “ put in a ticket” and weeks go by and I continue to keep contacting her. She begins to verbally attack with nonsense that had nothing to do with the issue. It was a joke to live in this hell hole. I broke my lease and left that nasty dirty place. I have never dealt with such a rude cold hearted person. So trust me don’t consider this place it’s not what you think, keep looking.
Living at the metropolitan has been a wonderful experience. My apartment was nice on move in day and has still held up over the year I have been here. I have only needed maintenance 3 times since I moved in for little things and they were always fixed in a day or two. The apartments are a little small but functional and have everything you need. The price is a little high for what the complex offers. When I first moved in, they did little events like drive thru breakfasts and door decorating contests but havent done them as much so hopefully they will bring those back. But the metro is a good apartment community, Ive never had any issues with the neighborhood or too much noise since I was in a first floor apartment. So overall my stay was pretty great.
Ive never had any of the problems listed here and Ive been a resident since 2015. . I love my apt, esp the washer dryer in the unit. I have a dog and there are multiple poop bag stations and a large green space/courtyard in each section. The grounds are well maintained and there are large charcoal grills in the courtyards. Ive had emergency maintenance 3x and there was a very quick response. The mgmt is brand new; I never had an issue with the previous mgmt. Recently, there are some neighbors that are smoking pot outside, but thats the worst I can say.
At first glance the complex and the model home is gorgeous! Once I moved in, like any other complex you start to see things for what they really are. I moved in late August, realized my ice maker isnt working.. its a small issue to the office because it still isnt operable. From that same ice maker not working, it has caused a puddle to form behind my fridge. Now being the avid hgtv viewer standing water on wood can cause damage that I didnt want to be held responsible for, I notify the office. If it wasnt same day it was the next maintenance comes by to assess the situation and they tell me the issue whats causing the water and so on, its just a part they need to repair it. A week goes by, I go by the office to inquire if the part has come in .. they say yes, they should be by if not that day then the next to fix my fridge ..longest story short and a convo with maintence and the property manager again .. the puddle still sits and the whole roll of paper towels they stuck behind the fridge too. Also, it might just be my neighbors, but dont sneeze too loud, or have sex loud.. dont argue in your apartment or youll receive a call from the office about that faster than you will about the water damage they are creating.Sooo in short, if youd like a high rent and supervision like youve gone into the military then this is the perfect place for you!!
I wish we never lived here! We moved out over a year ago and I have just been notified what they claim we owe from collections. Gelina the property “manager” does not know how to run a business except into the ground! Besides the fancy finishes, you are WAY overpaying for a box of an apartment with paper thin walls, no amenities and unfriendly, backwards management.
Still living here currently. The management is terrible. They dont care about the tenenats at all. The maintenance is even worse. Ive had NUMEROUS problems in my apartment that didnt seem to be a priority for them at all. Thankfully I finally got what I needed fixed. Above that the maintenance guys park their vehicles like they never even learned to drive. I cant count the amount of times Ive come home to have my parking spot blocked by their big trucks or to see them parked over 4-5 parking spots.I have HEARD the manager complain that someone didnt pay their rent on time because they had to attend their GRANDMOTHERS FUNERAL. The lighting in the back courtyard has been broken for almost two weeks but they arent even worried about that. All of their time has been spent lately putting notices on doors for people who have aggressive dogs. This is a terrible place to be. Do not let them fool you into living here.
Worst place to live. The management is terrible they say one thing, but do another. If you decide to move there please make sure that you have anything that they say in writing and signed. Maintenance request take forever to get fixed. I had given them the okay for maintenance to enter my apartment while I was at work, but whats crazy is that they couldnt find my spare apartment key that they are suppose to have in the office, so I had to leave work just for maintenance to get into my apartment and than they asked me if I could buy a spare for the office.
I cant wait to move out of these apartments. When we first moved in there was a lady manager and she was beyond rude. I asked multiple times for the exact amount that was needed for move in as my fiance and I were moving cross country into these apartments. I payed the amount that was given to me only to get an eviction notice the same week saying if we didnt pay this 20 something dollar fee we were evicted, when I asked multiple times to make sure the amount was correct and she was not helpful whatsoever. Once we got moved in we noticed quite a few things that were wrong right away, the floor was done terribly, the fridge leaks and still leaks so we cant have anything thats not plastic on the top shelf if we dont want it soaked in water we have mentioned it multiple times before finally giving up because they didnt fix it. We had an outlet in the kitchen that didnt work and when they went into fix it they said well there is another outlet in the kitchen so use that which I should add the other outlet in the kitchen is directly above the sink. Im sorry but Im not plugging anything in above my sink, thats not safe, also since its above the sink I dont have counter space to even put anything there to even use that outlet, I would have to have an extension cord to make it even reach to my counter space. i dont know why on earth people would think an outlet should go above the sink, but that was eventually resolved and fixed but not until after fussing about it. Anything else that we notice is wrong we dont even bother asking for it to be fixed. My bestfriend lives in another unit and it took them like 3 months to fix her microwave. Jason is the newer manager and he is way more pleasant to talk with but they still give the unfortunately its out of my hands for way to many things. The rent is pretty over priced for what you get. And its a hassle if you need anything outside of a roof over your head. The first 6 to 8 months we had very terrible roommates upstairs. And we have payed roughly the same amount the entire time we have lived here and now because they have more people living there my rent went up 25 more dollars due to there being more water being used in the building because they have moved more people in so Im stuck paying for other people using more water, they say they lowered their rates for new tenants so I find it very ironic that Im now paying more on my rent when new tenants pay like 80 dollars less than what I signed my lease for. If youre desperate for a place to live its not the worst, I guess. But your probably better off looking somewhere else.
If I could give them 0 stars I would! This place is roach infested !!! I moved in here in January first they gave me an apartment where the previous tenants were so filthy and dirty it was roaches behind the fridge, behind the stove, and under the cabinets some dead and some alive. Move me to a different apartment and the carpet had lumps underneath it, closet doors off track or not on a track at all. Months later here come roaches again. Seen them outside and slowly start coming into peoples apartments. Notified management and guess what? They barely do anything about it. Pest control comes in you apartment and sprays two spots and they leave. Also let’s not forget the Fact that you have to pay for pest control every month and don’t even receive pest control each month, while I had to go to the store myself and bomb the apartment! The people in the office don’t care about their tenants they just want to fill space up. For the cost these apartments they are filthy. The front doors to your apartment are nasty, the carpet in the hallways smell and are filthy even had roaches on it and the windows in the hall are filthy with dead spiders and other bugs. I will not be resigning my lease and i will never refer a person here EVER! Worst decision I ever made moving here and to top it off I have a baby coming in a few weeks so I can’t just pack up and leave now!
I have a really nice apartment and everything is brand new.
They way they are ran is horrible. They have the worst management i have ever seen. They take complete advantage of their renters.
First Apartment and I LOVE IT!!!! THANKS STAFF!
