CLOSED : update/ apparently a home appliance and furnishings store has occupied the old Sears building in the mall. I tried to find a location to visit and purchase repair parts for appliances made and bought at Sears. Apparently you must have a Sears repairman come to your house and repair your Appliance or order the repair part online. If there is such a place that sells lawn mower and refrigerator and washing machine parts made by Sears, they should do a better job of advertising because I had no idea that they had closed the store on Judson Road where you used hey be able to purchase repair parts. It is not very often most of us use or need a part from there so it has been a couple of years at least since I have tried looking until recently.
We had our refrigerator compressor replaced on a 7 year old refrigerator. The compressor was covered by the 10 year part warranty. We paid more than 600 dollars in labor. The compressor has been making noise since the replacement. Now its not working. We had an appointment for 7/12 and at the end of the day, the call center told us the appt was canceled by mistake. We now have an appt for the 26th, 2 weeks from today.
1st tech came out and told me noise was because I packed my freezer wrong, then he put a piece of foam tape on the compressor. The 2nd tech was to be here between 8AM and 5 PM well it 4:30 PM now and havent seen or heard from them .
I have then without a gas wall oven for going on two months or more when you finally sent me a replacement you stated that you could not find anyone in my area to install it and you said $100 check without any explanation what it was for when I contacted you about it you stated that it was to be 4 installation and that I would have to find someone to install it myself I did a business called all appliances repair and installation he informed me that he would have to get more equipment that did not come with the oven to install it and it would cost me $350 so Im really disappointed with your service thank you
Needed a repairman to fix a fridge, & they were gonna schedule it a week out
Very thorough and conscientious service. Timely and efficient! Appreciate tech being timely and keeping me informed and explaining things as he was making the repairs. Sears has been my best local appliance repair experience!
Very good experience. The repairman was knowledgeable and polite and performed his repair in a reasonable time.
My tech showed up on time, was a pleasant human being, and figured out the problem. Unfortunately, the control board wasnt working, and the new part was quoted to be $300. Added in the call out fee and labor, and getting my dishwasher fixed would have been over $600. The manufacture of the dishwasher sells replacement control boards for $80. So thats a thing. Worth the diagnostic fee, at least, but not an actual repair.
Technician was very professional and efficient. He gave a quote that I felt was very reasonable. I have always had good service with Sears Appliance Repair.
Archie was very prompt and very kind. He did a wonderful job and Archie is an asset to Sears repair. The price was reasonable. I highly recommend
The technician that came and repaired our Kenmore Elite was very knowledgeable and proficient. Though his first visit was to troubleshoot and order the necessary parts, he went the extra mile to provide us the number we could call to try and move our service date up since our appliance had been down for so long and we had to wait longer after the parts were delivered. When the parts arrived, we made the call and was able to reschedule a week sooner to get the parts installed. Id give it a five star if the down time on our appliance was shorter.
Scheduled an appointment for what I thought would be 2 refrigerators and a dishwasher; I was told promptly by the serviceman by he doesnt do dishwashers, only fridges. Fine. He did a good job on the two fridges and did it super quick; however, after the ice did start making, I found out that the lever on the outside didnt work, so NOW Ive got to pay for another service call. Called and asked about it, oh, thats not the icemaker...told them it was to service the whole thing, not just one thing.
Great experience. excellent repairwoman.
I made an appointment last week for Sears to arrive today. I told them to put I would be there at 11:00, to put me for an afternoon appointment. I waited and called at 2:30, only to find out, they called with an automatic recording, and tech guy said he came at 9:00. Someone was here, never knocked on door. I called they said Sorry, we can reschedule you in a week. I talked to Supervisor, same answer. I will never use Sears again or buy any appliances there again. They use to be good.
This was bad from every angle you could look at it. After paying for months on a Sears Home Warranty Contract, the opportunity came up to use it when my Washing machine started acting up. Set the appointment, took the afternoon off from work, the kid finally showed up but wouldnt look at it because the model number was illegible. He said he couldnt look at it because he wouldnt be able to order parts without the model number. I get that but he didnt even know yet whether parts were going to be necessary. i get on the phone with GE, give them the serial number and had the model number within minutes but the kid was already gone. I call the kids cell phone, told him I had the model number and to please call me back. He didnt so I call Sears Warranty back and they said no problem, they would send him right back. Waited a couple of hours. Called Sears back and they said to be patient, he was coming. Never came. This was a Friday. Called back on Monday, they rescheduled, I took another half day off, they never showed despite repeated promises that someone would be there. Finally Sears Warranty gave up on their own service team and contracted a third party company. I take off another half day but this company showed up just as they had promised. They told Sears the Washer was fried. Sears said that particular problem wasnt covered by the Sears Home Warranty I lost a day and a half from work, spent somewhere around 8-10 hours on the phone or on hold, and $40/mo. for ten months and got nothing.
3 and a half weeks ago a technician came to my house to repair my washer. A part was needed so I was charged for the diagnostic visit and the part was ordered A week later, the part arrived and another technician came and installed it. I was charged for the visit and the part. This would be fine if, in fact, I now had a washing machine that worked. The second technician accidentally fried the control panel while installing the new drain pump (which was the initial problem). He apologized and ordered a new panel for us which took almost a week to arrive. Meanwhile Im going to the laundromat every other day. The new panel arrives and it doesnt work. Another one is ordered ... this one works and is installed After the technician leaves I start a load of laundry and the washer gives me an error and is leaking everywhere. I try other settings and get other errors and more leaks. I still cant do laundry and cant get the technician back to my house We have called Sears customer service no fewer than 6 times for a refund or resolution and gotten false promises of calls back. Today we finally got an email saying were not entitled to a refund. I have spent nearly $350 for this repair and my machine is in a worse state than when I started, not to mention the ridiculous amount of time and money I have spent at the laundromat. I do not think it is unreasonable to expect a refund at the very least. We simply want to buy a new machine because we feel like this one has been ruined beyond repair after what has been done to it. At one point we noticed a terrible smell and realized that on the second visit the technician had put a towel in the machine to test it and left it sitting in standing water in our front loading washer with the door sealed. It had been that way for a week. We had to move the machine to the back patio to drain it and the smell was so horrific we almost vomited. I dont think it will ever completely go away. I am disappointed and frustrated and tired and I just want someone to call me back and resolve this with some respect
The quick fix of my dryer door STILL didnt fix the problem.I had a repairman come a few days after the dryer was installed, for the SAME reason. Apparently the door had been twisted and the hinge had to be straightened. The door doesnt make contact -- so it will turn on -- unless I bump it near the bottom where the button is located (I am 74 years old and I dont bend and bump very well anymore).I have to call a repairman back out because, even if I can get it to start up, it doesnt completely dry my clothes. This will be the 3rd service call on THIS PROBLEM since last September when I got it.
My Dishwasher repair experience with Sears was Excellent. The repairman kept in touch with me on his arrival time and was punctual. He was very knowledgeable about my appliance and took the time to find the problem. He also gave me neat little tips to keep my dishwasher in great condition. I learned a lot from his willingness to share and appreciate the great work he did to repair my dishwasher. I would highly recommend the repair service plan to anyone. FG
This was a warranty maintenance visit on 3 of our appliances. Service man was efficient and polite. Notices of scheduled appointment were thorough and appreciated.
The repairman was very prompt and very courteous and professional. He answered my questions and solved my problem in a very timely manner. What more could I ask for! I have 5 Kenmore appliances and always call Sears for service on all my appliances.
Repairman was here on time. I told him what I had observed. He was very professional and went right to work. His experience was such that he knew exactly what was wrong and fixed my dishwasher in a timely matter. I was very pleased with the outcom. The dishwasher now functions like it was new..
Very courteous technician. Excellent job. Good price for the service!
ANTONY WAS VERY PROFESIONAL, AND KNOWS HIS JOB... GREAT JOB...
Techs not that good that they hire to come to house to fix but customer service is great
Pleased with service except appointment scheduling was a problem. I was able to schedule the initial appointment for 1 to 5 PM, but for the follow-up appointment, they had it scheduled from 8 to 5 PM. I called prior to the appointment to ask for 1 to 5 PM. I was told it could not be changed until 7 AM on the day of the appointment. I called again at 7 AM on the day of the appointment. By that time, the appointment window had been decreased to 11:55 AM to 1:55 PM. I told the person I talked with that I was okay with that time, but please make sure he does not come any earlier. She said she would notify the repairman. However, repairman called saying he was on his way at about 10:00 with ETA within 30 minutes. I told him I had asked for the later time, but he told me he was on his way. Thankfully, the repair was completed quickly otherwise this would have been a problem.
Tech did a fine job, i feel like the labor charges where to high and charged tax on the labor.i know that that is done just not everyone does it that i notice.
Scheduling the appointment had some problems. The service performed was very good.
The Sears technician was very knowledgeable and he had my mower up and running in no time.
I am giving this 2 stars rather than one as the repairman is excellent and does the best he can with what is given him for the repairs. His boss that decides on stupid parts that wont work to fix the crack in my freezer wall I am severely displeased with. Whirlpool parts for hot tub for a GE freezer that require screw holes and a bar to hold in place inside my freezer? This is a no brainer that this wont work. The previous repairs were Vinyl tape which shrinks when cold…. so doesnt hold as the crack is at a tension point where the door swings open. I ended up saying I will just live with the crack (which runs from the back of the freezer around the side and out under the outer shell) as Sears obviously is not going to repair it properly. I am tired of beating my brains out with these people and getting stupid stuff like this. I will never buy another appliance from Sears after this experience. 5 house calls now with increasingly ridiculous repairs for the huge crack inside my freezer….
Service person was helpful, however I am not satisfied with the outcome of the results. clean your slef should not be used because of the placement of the electronics and for some unknown reason the range works best on convection rather than regular oven. regular bake does not cook evenly even tho the oven is level . I have another question, who will I contace about the warranties when the Sears store closed.
No longer Sears Appliance RepairBusiness closed
Five stars This tech was very helpful. Completed his work in a timely manner.
Very pleased with service. Technician was thorough and very helpful.
Very good and helpful.. Would recommend this person to anyone,r
I have used sears repair service for the past 14 years never had a bad experiance.
I had to spend $90.00 for them to tell me that they couldnt or wouldnt fix my oven. I shouldnt be charged if they refuse to do repairs.
Quick and professional! This was my second experience with Sears Repair (same repairman) to replace the heating element in a frontload Samsung dryer and later a pump on a frontload Samsung washing machine...no problems and would highly recommend.
They dont seem to stock many parts anymore. Everything is ordered.
Customers sevice is great
Good job-short time to finish
I was please with the friendly, efficient service. Thank you.
Excellent work. Replaced icemaker.
Repairman was knowledgeable and very courteous and helpful. Thanks!!!
The technicians were thorough.
The service man was cordial, explained the problems, and was very respectful knowing that I am homebound and unable to assist him.
