I frequent the shop and it’s always clean. Kevin (my stylist) is always courteous, thoughtful, and prepared to style my hair. Tim greets me with a smile always and makes sure I’m comfortable. He’s often quiet as he slays. Nikki stays busy with her clients, but she’s always willing to assist me with any extra care. I will continue to support this business and these stylists because this is a business with great people who make sure you’re satisfied before you leave. I appreciate you guys!

Scheduled an appointment for my 9 year old daughter to have a wash and flat iron. Asked over the phone if there was a stylist who specialized in children’s hair and was told yes. My daughter has long, thick, tangled hair. Stylist was not in time, but that wasn’t a problem. Her attitude was nasty from the time my daughter and I walked in. Was not friendly or pleasant at all. Did not press the front of my daughters hair and did a rush job. I do my child’s hair all the time so I know it takes a minute to flat iron it straight. Stylist also told another stylist in front of my daughter that my child’s hair was dry, matted, and she didn’t want to deal with it. I’ve called to speak to the owner and he wasn’t in but I will continue to call. The stylist who worked on my daughters hair is suppose to be a manager. Her customer service skill were terrible and she DOES NOT specialize in children’s hair. Which she should have just said when I asked over the phone. Will never support this establishment again. I think the stylist name is Keisha. Especially after paying 85 dollars just to have to come home and re flat iron my child’s hair myself. What did I pay Keisha to do? I’m confused. Never trust a stylist when their own hair is a mess.

I have frequented this establishment a couple of times in the last couple of months. My pleasure to say that my stylist Kevin was exceptional as usual. Very courteous, kind and a great conversationalist..I will continue to support the business with your awesome stylists and even perhaps bring some other patrons along.

Walking thru Walmart and Tim handed me a card, which I knew I needed work done on my hair. My hair had fallen out for some reason so I decided to cut it even, which didnt quite work out. Tim cut my hair and we had a good conversation. My sides could have been tapered better but all in all it was ok. Would I go back, sure I would. Tim made me feel very comfortable.

Niki the best at what she do have everything so organize and do a good job and knows how to have your hair looking good and healthy shout out to her !!

Kevin is the best I alway fill wonderful after he is done coloring my hair. His shampooing is the best so relaxing. Would highly recommend going there the hole staff is friendly. Nicky does great waxing too. And I have seen her work and it is nice looking

I called in at 10:53 am to inquire about a service. A lady named Nikki said that there’s an opening at 12 noon. I told her I’ll call back to confirm if I can make it.At 10:56 am (just three minutes apart), I called back to confirm the appointment and gave the gentleman who answered the phone my name for the reservation.Arrived at the salon 15 minutes before my appointment.Nikki (stylist) was with a customer and told another person that I did not confirm my appointment which is not true, given the fact that I called three minutes later to confirm this.From 11:45 am to 12:50 pm I sat in a corner waiting. That’s over an hour wait.The gentleman (also a stylist) named Tim (I think) finally asked me what service am I going for.When he approached me, I stated that I confirmed my appointment yet waited for over an hour for my turn. He literally didn’t pay any attention on what I said. Completely ignored everything and went on what he was doing. No apologies. No explanation.I tried to be civil enough and also tried to pick up a conversation with Tim. He seemed short but polite and courteous.His service was okay and towards the end of the service, he went to Nikki’s station and passed on comments to eachother.Just so you know Tim, YOU DIDN’T WIN. YOU DIDN’T SHOW ME YOU’RE THE BOSS.I MYSELF DECIDED TO BE HUMAN AND ACT HUMANLY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. I’M YOUR CUSTOMER, YOU ARE MY STYLIST AT THAT TIME AND I RESPECT THAT.Your actions, words and yourself is not a winner in the situation.Thank you for the service. I appreciate the service and gave you gratuity as a sign of my gratitude for the service that was given.You wished me a blessed day and I wish you the same.I’d still come back for another service since it wasn’t that bad.Thanks again.

Young male did my hair. He was nice and quick and my hair looked great. Walmart was busy, but the salone was nice and peaceful environment. Price was affordable. And it was good to see a young brother working doing ladies hair, instead of being on the streets with no job.

I called Niki at 9:00am on a Saturday morning requesting an appointment. She told me if I could get there before 10:00am she could service me. I hurried in and was provided professional and quality service in a clean and safe environment. Nikki is the BEST!

Nikki was professional and friendly. Explained which services were available and which were not due to the pandemic. She serviced my fiances and gave him the hair cut he wanted. Excellent experience!

I like Smartstyles. Im glad to find it inside Wal-Mart. Convenient. I can go in early and get done and out. My stylist listens to me and he is patient. NO Crowds. Appts are spaced far apart and they disenfect in vetween clients. Stay away Coronavirus. We cast you out forever.

This was our second time here. Before, Donna did a wash and comb out on my daughters very thick natural hair. She recommended a great leave-in conditoner. Today we had made the decision to cut her hair short and were very nervous. Kia assured us she could make my daughters dream of low maintenance but still cute come true. And she did! We came out very happy and my daughter very confident in her new look. Thank you so much for taking such great care and the product recommendations. We will definitely be back.

Tiffany is the best! Had to get my sons hair cut late on a Sunday afternoon so we decided to try it out. We will be coming back to see her! She did an awesome job on his hair and also kept him smiling the whole time.

It was my second time yesterday here. I always used to go to the one in Novi until its closed forever. Nikki did my haircut on both my visit. Shes friendly, understands me very well, hailing from India it was always challenging for me to make stylists understand what kind of haircut I want but it was very easy with Nikki and she did exactly like I wanted. Would continue to go here until Nikki cut my hair lol.

Ive been here twice. The first time I came in for a trim, and the second time for a color. Shay listened to me, payed attention to the way I wear my hair, and was non-pressuring to get additional services. The second time I went, it was on a Sunday - HEADS UP there is only one stylist staffed on Sundays - Shay was still extremely attentive to me and her time management with the other clients that came in while I was there was awesome. She never got flustered, or frustrated - she treated us all very respectfully, and gave us each the attention we deserved. Will continue to come here for trims & color.

Appointment for 3 arrived 15 minutes early only to be told it would be at least 30- 45 minimum longer. And upon discussing hi and low lights the gentlemen seemed un- sure of how or what to do.

Went in for wash and dry only. $37! I was told its because my hair is long. I couldve spent 3 more bucks at a different place and got a press and flat iron. Smh never again for that 1/2 tail blow dry that I had to finish at home. She shouldve waived the extra for me waiting while she helped customers.

Ms. Shay from Smartstyle Hairsalon was my very first salon experience. I was nervous since I am a type 4 natural hair who never went to a salon and she reassured me that I was fine and the process was amazing! The staff there were also amazing and friendly! Family- like atmosphere, and very professional with ALL your haircare needs. Shay, Donna, Jackie and Tiffany are the staff that made me felt welcomed and will always be my first and always salon I go to. :) ❤

NEVER AGAIN! Wanted to get my hair curled for my baby shower and the lady didn’t know what she was doing and was in a rush had to go home and curl it myself! Very very disappointed

Donna is the hair stylist barber that gave me the roaring 1920 hair style. She was God sent because I had no idea where to go to get that look. Need I say more, this picture says it all.

The woman who cut my hair was very rude and unprofessional not to mention the cashier as well!! My hair was down to the bottom of my back and asked for a 3inch trim and my long layers trimmed and when she was done my hair was shoulder length, with short layers and a face frame that was not done before and didnt ask for! I was screamed at by both employees and was in tears! I had pulled a chunk of my hair out of the garbage can as the woman argued with me she did what was asked and the piece of hair was OVER 10inchs long! Although the owner was extremely polite and did everything correct to try and make it right was clearly not his fault except for not firing her for her UNPROFESSIONAL behavior that was witnessed by other people and extremely poor service! I will never go back, I dont even want to shop at this location because of the employees at this salon!! I can not remember there names but can only describe them as black females, cashier was very over weight and the hair stylist was against the LEFT side of the salon 2nd chair... will never ever go back!! Thank you to the OWNER for trying to make things right but there was absolutely nothing he could do except cut more hair!!

Memorial day hours were until 6:00PM. Came in around 3:00PM and they closed early. Terrible customer service. the clerk was mad when we expressed our concern and she said oh shut up.

Not only did they do things to my hair that was not needed they overcharged me!!! $70 for a wash haircut and style???? Seriously? They too 15 mins to cash me out bc they kept trying to charge me for things....never again
