I love coming here for a really nice haircut! Theyve made a ton of renovations and have really expanded their business since the last time I was here. They have a ton of chairs and even offer manicure/pedicure options in a private corner of the shop. Really cool and very relaxing and atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly and asked a lot of questions to make sure they got my haircut right.

From the moment I walked into Roger & Rods, I felt comfortable. I had been looking for a classic barber shop for several years - and had fallen into a routine of patronizing chain businesses. Although places like Great Clips, Sport Clips, and similar offer fine services, they lack the charisma and charm of an old fashioned barber shop. They lack Rod and his staff.Further, Roger and Rods has been a part of Livonia for over 50 years. Over those years, not only have they been a multi-generationally -run and -supported business, they have been a helping hand to countless community causes. I am very happy that I stumbled upon this gem and am able to provide patronage. Thanks.

I have been coming to this barber shop for years, and I now bring my two boys along with me. It had the atmosphere of a true barber shop, the last refuge of masculinity . Conversations run along all topics without ever becoming obscene or explicit. The barbers here do a great job and are all skilled at their trade. The decor features local sports teams and their achievements over the decades. I thoroughly enjoy this barber shop and hope you will too.

Ive been going to Roger & Rods Barber Shop since I was in grade school at nearby Hoover Elementary...that was over 40 years ago. Rod has continued in the tradition of kindness, professionalism, and community started by his dad Roger years ago. While I may miss talking with Bernie about his home computer woes, Roger & Rods remains THE place to go for a great haircut.

My favorite barbershop. I lived in the area (Five Mile & Haggerty roads) for over 30 years, I didnt know about this place until 2019! LOL! Rod is the best! Go Green & White! Go Sparty!

Went here today and Adam took care of me. Ive been going to the same place and was committed to staying there. I thought that Adam did a great job, but when I got home, my wife said wow, your lady did better than ever! I told her it was a new barber, and she said to keep going to him!

Great local barber shop. I was getting my haircut by the same girl for 4 years and she hadnt been doing as good lately so I went and tried these guys out as its local and a block from my work. The haircut looked great and I havent been anywhere else since. They are always busy, lots of people in and out. Closed on Sunday and Monday. Im pretty sure its cash only. $16 for a haircut, theyll shave your neck with a straight razor, trim eyebrows and I get my beard trimmed for an extra $5. Totally worth it!

Great experience overall! Went for the first time and was impressed with every minute of my experience there. Adam cut my hair and he cut it to the pic I showed him. They also give a straight razor shave to the back of your neck with warm shave foam. When I was in the chair he didnt take that long. Theres an old fashioned barber feel when you go with pics all over the wall. very clean. it is a bit much for haircuts ($16) compared to what Im used to but I would still go back.

Drove all the way from Virginia Beach for this haircut. Visiting the shop is still something I look forward to every time we come back to the Mitten. Sports, humor, and a great haircut without fail. Exactly how Barber Shops are supposed to be. Truly a Livonia treasure.

Ive been going to Roger and Rods for over 35 years (since about 6th grade), it began for me with the convenience of living in the neighborhood, then it grew into much more. For me it turned into family and friends early on and many of the regulars as well, many who gather for more than just a haircut To this day the shop is made up of more than just great barbers, for me walking into the shop is like walking into my home where I can relax, be myself, catch up on all the latest news around town all while getting my chops busted by the gang, BEST BARBER SHOP AROUND!!!!!

Adam is the best person to see here. I have been going here for about 4 years now. It can be busy at times just try to not go on Tuesdays or first thing on Saturday mornings. If Adam is busy the owner is a good option.

Ive had many excellent haircuts here the last couple of years. However, the racist coversations that go on between barbers, and even customers at times, are way out of line. Its gotten worse the last few times Ive gone for a haircut. I cant support a business that perpetuates prejudice and racism.Youll feel like your back in the 1950s in this classic American barber shop, alright. In more ways than one.

Ive been going to Roger & Rods for 5 years now. I tried all of them and all great Barbers, but my favorite is adam A great guy and a great barber. Id literally give it a 200% satisfaction rate. He gets you right!

By far the best place to take your family for hair cuts and great company. They all go out of their way to make you look your very best. You may even see a celiberty or two walk in :-)

Very friendly doesnt listen to what you say when you tell them what you want. Told Mario exactly what I want a 2 on the sides longer on top. Gives me a comb over that I didnt want. Overall choppy haircut! Doesnt even notice my bangs arent straight. Then decides to cut them when I am standing up not even back in the chair if I want a choppy cut I can do it at home. I love the atmosphere of the barber shop, but extremely disappointed in the quality of the haircut. The shaver didnt feel like it was up to par like old and scratching my head not smooth. Not even on the sides not smooth looking at all. I went there before and I told Rod I wanted a certain style cut showed a picture and everything. He said no you dont want that. Listen to your customers on how they want a haircut. Really disappointed. I love the straight razor shave for your neck. Just really disappointed! Ill spend my money elsewhere. You think if you would want make customer happy so give them a hair cut they want. Really need to change the way they do business if they want people to keep coming back.

As a 30+ year resident of Western Wayne County (Plymouth), I just found out about Roger & Rods Barbershop on Five Mile Road in Western Livonia. This is the only place that I go for a haircut and mustache trim. I only wish I could found this place years ago, Ive only been coming to see Rod for the last year.

I started getting my haircut here in 2014 and have been loyal to them ever since. My last 10 haircuts I have noticed the barbers who cut my hair have constantly complained and dreaded giving me a simple medium fade with a hard-part look. On top of constantly complaining and whining about giving me a simple haircut, which is their job to do, I have also overheard countless conversations about them blasting African American customers behind their backs using the N slang term. I got my final haircut there today when I asked for a simple medium fade, my barber not only whined and complained about it, but she was very aggressive when using the razors in giving me the cut. It was a sloppy haircut that left me with cuts all over my neck and ears, which by the way caused blood to drip and stain certain military uniforms that I have to replace now, from sloppy and childish work from a lazy barber who shouldnt have made a single dime off that cut. I am incredibly frustrated and disgusted with the horrible service that they have been giving me lately. For anyone and everyone who reads this, I highly recommend you look for a different barber to go to if you want clean and professional work done so you dont experience what I had to. I also recommend parents to keep their kids from getting cuts there with the horrible and racist language that runs on an every day basis there.

Haircuts are $14. Family Business.The Stanley Cup was in the shop in 2002 (Photos on the wall). Pendants from all the local sports teams line the wall. All kinds of autographed photos and one of Muhammad Ali with the founders.
