Ive been taking martial arts classes here for about 3 years and it has been a wonderful experience. Sensei Mark is a great teacher because of all his experiences from life that he shares with his students. He teaches more than just karate but things to use in life outside of a fight. The class has a family feel to it. You are not made to be embarrassed but pushed to be better than who you were when you walked in
Have to say this school is great. I do all three classes. But love the karate class the most. The style that mark teaches is a unique an forward style of shorin ryu. Rusty is marks right hand man both of them are good hearted individuals an great teachers. Martial Arts is a way of life not a hobby. Peace and tranquility are a big thing that you get out of the art. A black belt was a white belt that never gave up. An I plane to have mine some day. An Im grateful to have them as my teachers
Sensei Mark and Sensei Steve do an excellent job at teaching people of all ages. These great instructors will do a splendid job at teaching you karate and how to respect the people around you. You can learn many other things rather than karate, such as what it means to work hard and how it feels to accomplish a goal that you set for yourself on a daily basis.
Im a 50+year old and felt the need to get out and move. I observed one class and was invited to try it. Karate was something I had done almost 30 years ago. I was very comfortable with Sensei Mark but even more impressed with the other students. Everybody made me feel welcome and very encouraging. Its only been a few weeks but I can already see a difference in my cardio and flexibility
Sensei Mark runs a great dojo. Open to new ideas, and really knows how to teach a Karate class. Also a great workout, would recommend
I have trained under Sensei Mark and Sensei Steve for 4 years, and my experience has been incredible! Sensei Mark and Sensei Steve are both knowledgeable and great instructors. They train you with both patience and respect. I have found that the benefits that I have gained has transferred into my daily life, in ways that I could never believe it would.
Sensei Mark Worley is a well-versed and skilled martial artist who is passionate about sharing his knowledge with others. He runs a family-friendly dojo where you can learn and develop true Muay Thai and karate skills. Im in the adult classes and its been life-changing for me. Its hard to quantify all the benefits I have gained as a student there. Im in great shape. My mental acuity is sharp as ever and I feel blessed to be part of a small but caring community of people who are passionate about life. The facility is air-conditioned, clean and well-cared for and you will not find a more reasonably priced martial arts school in SW Ohio.
I have been a student here for 3 years and I would highly recommend this dojo to anyone. There is a youth and an adult karate class, great for a family. I would also recommend the other classes. Sensi and Sempai are both very knowledgeable and amazing teachers. Everyone there treats eachother like family, and we are always willing to help eachother out.
Ive been training in Shorin Ryu (Matsubayashi Ryu) karate for 4 years and the experience and growth Ive gained is amazing! Sensei Mark Worley and Sensei Steve Duff combine traditional training methods with newer teaching philosophies which strikes that difficult balance of empowering the student and making it enjoyable while also pushing your limits to get better every time you step on the deck. Founded on principles of respect, hard work and faith, I cant recommend this dojo enough!
I have been training in Shorin Ryu for over a year and a half, and have participated in some of the Kickboxing classes as well. My family and I also have experience with the youth courses.Sensei Mark Worley is extremely knowledgeable in self-defense, but it is his teaching style and mentorship that is more important. Everyone starts out a beginner on their journey, and it requires a Sensei that has the ability to know when to push a student or when to help a student. The Shorin Ryu experience is for someone that wants to learn a Martial Art form and is willing to understand the history and practice. For me, it is nice to see progression and have goals. The Kickboxing classes are more cardio driven, different then Karate, but very enjoyable.Overall, I really enjoy the Sensei, Dojo, and other students. I would recommend without a problem training here.
