They make a great use of a minimal space. Whereas it may be a bit softer on the grading system, and overall it appears to lack any +/- variance, the fact that it has five separate auto belays each with numerous routes available to them make the solo sessions a breeze. The tape system has never been a joy of mine, but I’ve absolutely seen worse.Being so close to red rocks, I would suggest sandbagging routes to prevent new climbers from developing a false sense of abilities, in turn possibly hurting themselves on outdoor climbs.
This gym has a lot of potential... The setting is good, but its old school setting (colored tape to demarcate routes), making it hard to read routes. Super soft grades, and literally only one 5.13 in the gym. So not the best training grounds for getting/staying strong. The staff isnt very friendly. And most of the people who go there keep to themselves—not much sense of community. But theres some fun routes, notably the ceiling traverses.Know that if you come between the hours of 10am and 2pm ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, they have a daycare program going, and you may actually be asked to move so they can set up a single point swing for the kids.
Where theyre tight on space they make up for in challenge and feature. Endless routes to follow or create. Something for everybody and more than enough to fill up your sessions on multiple occasions. This place will push everything about your style. Definitely give it a go.
Great gym and all that but the swing back on the autos makes me angry. I dont need to be smackin people with my legs when I miss a hold
Great staff, great climbing and friendly people! Mondays Tuesdays have a lot of kids before 6pm. Wednesday has UNLV night so pretty full those days
Tons of routes and a fun creative layout. Staff is probably some of the nicest folks youll meet. Warm inviting place youll love it!!!
Im giving this gym a 5 for a few reasons:Reasonable membership ratesTons of overhung climbing including roofs for bouldering and leading - this is rare in my experience! Most people dont like how they tape because its confusing. I personally think this is awesome because its like being outside. You have to actively look while you climb meaning every move takes just a little bit longer and requires more endurance.Overall, its the best place in Vegas to get high.
Good gym but could be great....routes are a bit soft and a bit hard to read, taping holds is less effective than colored hold setting. Overall i enjoyed myself but they could be a world class gym if they put a bit more effort into making the routes easier to read and stiffened their grading just a bit.
Great staff, walls updated frequently enough.Best crowd by a land slide. Everyone that comes here is friendly and helpful. None of that elitist thing going on.
The place is cool, everybody is chill and the price memberships are affordable. If you want to try they have some offers and if you are still unsure You can buy a punch card for less than 10 bucks for 10 entrances.Im just a beginner so I cannot tell if its good for more experienced ppl but for me is perfect and I love it.
Couldn’t recommend these guys more! My husband and I picked these guys for a full day of guided climbing out in Red Rocks. We picked them especially because they are the only local guide staff, and had good reviews and prices. Adam H. was a great guide, and a great teacher as well. As experienced climbers, we were able to relax, have fun, and felt safe with our guide. The day went smooth, able to get in quite a few lead/top rope climbs and a multi pitch in the afternoon. We look forward to coming back and working with them again!
This place has so much to offer! It doesnt appear to be very big on the outside, but they use the space brilliantly
Super fun and great staff. We were in from out of town and they made us feel like gym regulars. We will definitely be back next time we are in Vegas!
This is the premier climbing gym in Vegas. Old school and new school blended to perfection.
My favorite bouldering gym in Vegas. Good routes that are updated at a decent rate (slower because of covid). Good membership rate and cool people there to climb with.
Staff was friendly and the people were also helpful and friendly
This is a great rock climbing/blundering spot. I come here for bouldering, and this place is easygoing and the staff are always very friendly. I feel comfortable asking any questions I need to, and I don’t feel awkward attempting to climb like I would in a more open space with spectators. They change the problems often and there are multiple rooms to go into for challenges as well as a ramp area for some horizontal and upside-down climbing. I’m a novice and new to this gym, but I always meet friendly people here no matter their level of expertise. It’s a great physical and mental challenge to climb, I’m really glad I have such a friendly place to learn and grow!
Best rock climbing gym in town
Super excited to start climbing here! I just became a member! Im hoping to find a belay partner for some climbing in red rocks!
Amazing gym with something for every skill level. Im a complete beginner and Im having a great time finding challenges within reach.
Super cool staff very interactive and helpful knowledgeable
Amazing place with friendly staff and people. Will always come back here
It’s an old style gym. There’s a laundry list of things I would change but they did get a moonboard so that’s good. The ramp and the lead area/auto belays are great for training endurance. It’s a weird layout but they have decent setting.
Great climbing gym that totally maximizes each and every square footage. Unique lead climbing wall not found anywhere else in town. I love participating in climbing comps at R2C2 and gathering with the climbing community. Five Stars!
Always great. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Clean equipment. Well labelled routes. They even have a training area and a moon wall.
The Las Vegas locals spot for indoor sport climbing
Loved my experience here at Red Rock Climbing Center. Everyone was super friendly and I even completed my first V5 ever because I had some awesome people cheering me on. I liked the old school feel of the gym and the different rooms for bouldering. Thanks r2c2!
Great staff and awesome place to climb. Can get some what crowded and the layout is a little wonky with the 4 story set up. Over all though an absolute awesome experience. Would definitely reccomend checking it out.
Good and it so fun
Went climbing with friends, not so expensive, great routes, definitely will go again
Great experience at red rocks! After calling several local gyms around Vegas red rocks Gad the best prices for a day pass and they had $4 showers in case you just need s shower as many can daellers and climbers do! They had private men’s and women’s showers in the locker room that were clean and had hot water, the gym itself was awesome! The routes were great and they had 4 floors with different climbing and training areas! It felt like a community right when you walked in the door. They also have auto belays and a moon board which is a huge attribute for a climbing gym! The guy st the front desk was very nice and he had just passed his nursing boards!! Congrats to you! Great place to climb or just clean off after a day of outdoor climbing at Red Rock Canyon!! Definitely recommend! Best gym in Las Vegas!
DO NOT GO HERE FOR SHOWERS!! Disgusting and no hot water from a dribble!! And they charge $4!! I realize us climbers are dirty and live a simple life but when you e been camping for days and all you want is a nice warm enjoyable shower this is not the place. Climber go to the recreation center. DO NOT COME HERE!
Despite the gym being closed for months during COVID, this place continued to charge me for a subscription, and when politely inquiring about a refund, Bill was a total dbag. I had planned to return here, but I’ll absolutely never support this scammy business again.
Great place for experienced and beginner climbers. Lots of bouldering, automatic belays and a great community! Been climbing here for over 7 years and cant say anything bad about it.
What a fabulous day. My son and I went out with Dan and we are both beginners. Dan helped us have a fantastic day. Not once did I feel unsafe. I’m not quite comfortable with heights but Fan was so friendly informative and interesting that i found the climbing to be challenging yet achievable and most surprisingly relaxing. This might have been one of my first climbs but it won’t be my last. I am going to plan a trip just to come back and climb again with Dan.
Andy from Red Rocks Climbing Center and Desert Rock Sports just took us out for a day of guided climbing at Red Rocks. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and climbing and was eager to teach us everything we wanted to learn. He helped us with technique and encouraged us to get through the hard problems on the routes. We had a great day of climbing and cant wait to go back! Desert Rock Sports had a huge selection of gear and we got 10% off for the day! We both bought helmets that we had been looking for everywhere including Yosemite. Thank you Andy, you were really fun to climb with!!
I am very pleased with this gym. My 11 year old daughter takes the Wall Lizards class. She loves it and her instructor, Kevin! She is excelling quickly. We had been in several times before that and have always gotten helpful instructions from the staff.Thank you! Keep it.
Meh
I had blast at the Red Rock climbing center today, the last time I climbed here was 1992. The customer service is still outstanding to this day. Gambling is over rated, do something cool and fun.
First time climbing. Pretty neat
Cant wait to get this gym open again! Bill and Mike working real hard get ready.
To be fair the only reason I give this four star and not five is because I cant climb most of this place so I cant daily rate it. There was plenty of beginner walls to climb. They have Auto belays on those walls, which is very nice. And from the looks of it, if your a real rock climber there would be plenty of challenging walls for you to climb including a several paths to the dead center of the ceiling. I have no idea how you could actually climb that.
I really love this place. The staff is great. Bill and company do a great job of setting new routes.Like someone mentioned below, im really confused at the really poor lighting inside. It seems like upgrading the light at the very least in the 2 upper caves would be very easy. Maybe they want the cave feeling so they keep it darker with the old yellow lighting. I feel like better lighting would be better for seeing the tape.I would still recommend this place to any climber looking for a gym!
Love the gym go there all the time no complaints the staff are super nice
Great place to learn rock climbing. Nice people too.
I liked climbing because it was a fun, new experience for me. There are many challenging routes and moves to do. My favorite is a 5.5 called Birthday Cake Remix. The place smells faintly of feet, but I dealt with it just fine.
Very fun experience. It was great to see the amount of kids there climbing all the tall walls
These guys give great teaching in a safe but laid back atmosphere. The routes are changed regularly and the climbing community is second to none. I cant recommend this place highly enough.
Great gym and great staff. On the smaller side, which makes it over crowded at times. Highly recommend as a place to train for outdoor climbing or to just go have fun.
This place is great if you’re a beginner or expert just looking to get a quick climb or boulder session in..
Best use of space Ive ever seen at a smaller gym! Really high quality routes set by experienced climbers. Can get crowded but usually ok. This gym is great.
Quite possibly the worst shower I’ve ever paid for. The facility is equivalent to what you’d expect to find in a meth house. Two stars because at least the water is hot.
Never been here before, but the staff was pretty rude over the phone when I called to ask a couple questions. Maybe they were busy, but I barely had a chance to ask what time they closed before the guy hung up. Two stars because at least someone answered the phone.Looking forward to learning how to climb farther from my house I guess.
I bought a groupon for the climbing camp, I attempted several times to fill out their waiver online, the desk girl was very useless in helping me get to the waiver online (which I never did find). Every time I called back to get my child on the schedule the answer is still the same about waiver, I dont get why it can not be done at time of presentation, I asked this and they were not able to explain why. They did offer to let me come in and fill it out. I live in Henderson and am not going to go to West Charleston to fill out a waiver for 5 min. I lastly called to attempted to get someone different and have been informed that my child would not be enrolled because they are all booked up.I have been trying all summer to get my child scheduled. I have lost the cost of the camp, I was informed that I could get a gift certificate for the cost, what good does that do for me? I wanted him to have instruction. I know nothing about climbing.
Super kind folk, nice gym. Showers for dirtbags are 5$
Many routes for all levels. Some self belays
The gym itself is really great. I love all the bouldering routes. The staff could be friendlier and the price could be cheaper for monthly members but the community is great and its honestly the best place to climb indoors in Vegas. Its a no brainer if you want to climb a lot and live in Summerlin or close
Staff is welcoming, several routes to chose from, a little expensive but a great place for both beginner and experienced climbers
Ryan and Lucas are awesome! Very knowledgeable and patient for newbies like myself!
Sweet place to go rock climbing whether youre a beginner or experienced.
Great outdoor guide experience. Dan was a blast.
Staff is rude. Gym and routes are nice set up, the tape method as marking makes it difficult as the tape falls off and youre left guessing.
My favourite indoor climbing centre 😊
Best training on the west side/Southside of vegas
Awesome gym for a rainy afternoon!
Can get a little crowded, but great set up and staff.
A true classic.
You charge 4 dollars for a shower. They are disgusting and run down. Fix your showers.
Awesome customer service!
Really ordinary bouldering gym. Wont be back
SEND IT
Great climbs
Shower. Yum!
Rude staff.
Perfect
