I recently booked a rental online at another location and was not able to get customer service on the phone to modify the reservation. You are recouping your losses due to covid by passing the additional costs to customers. I used to be able to rent a car for a few days when I lived in Denver for 60 or 70 dollars a day. I probably wont rent again for a while but I know you wont have any problems renting so I know the prices wont be reduced. By the way, the only thing the cleaner had to do was vacuum the drivers side. I washed the car (it wasnt washed when I picked it up) and I had no passengers. The people at the rental place are excellent and very professional.

By far the worst experience I have ever had renting a car, and arguably the worst experience Ive ever had in customer service both from all the staff and the manager who hires children who cant drive to rent cars. This place is downright shameful. I ran 2.5. miles to get this car that I paid for the night before, when I arrived they couldnt find the information (among a host of other problems), didnt have a car ready, kept me waiting for 20 minutes in the lobby, and then an hour after the mess tell me I have the wrong card. I ran 2.5 miles BACK TO MY HOTEL to get the correct card, which I had never been informed was incorrect in the first place! Im from the east coast, if youre a runner you know adjusting to the elevation is a nightmare, this was the worst run and then I had to do it twice. Upon returning to the facility, I was kept waiting for an HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES. The poor staff desperately were trying to contact the owner, who irresponsibly left her TEENAGE CHILD to run her store. Then there was an issue with passport and temp license, which I later found shouldve never been an issue. At this point it had been 3.5 hours and 5 miles of exercise for me to get a car I set up the night before. SHAMEFUL. In the end my mother had to pay for the car, on mothers day, what a treat. So glad I wasted 3 hours of my life and exercised my keister off for nothing. The staff were grossly undertrained, to the point where this experience was just as miserable for them as it was for me.Just wait folks, it doesnt stop there. The car STANK LIKE FEET, not the fresh out of the salon feet, the been-in-dirty-gym-shoes-without-socks feet. And the oil change light wouldnt stop going off every time I turned the car on. (More on this later)We returned the car after having missed half of our days events, and I obtained the number for the manager. An employee told me she would call Monday.Monday came - no call.Tuesday morning I called at 8 am and she asked to call me back later *eye roll*Brandy, the owner for this abysmal establishment, was the cherry on top of the sh**cake. Not only did she not apologize for my experience, she gave me a slew of excuses for why I had the experience I did. She was unfriendly, indirect, and rather impolite. Beyond that she refused to give any sort of refund and told me she would refer it to her manager. When I asked to speak with him, she responded He doesnt really call people, or talk to customers. DEAD END. But at least now we know its not just Brandy who is a lackluster and irresponsible business owner, its the whole Avis-Budget group who allows people to act this way on their behalf! A manager who doesnt deal with legitimate and serious customer complaints? Thats not only BS its unfair to the customer.Folks, I work in customer service on multiple platforms (Healthcare and food service and art industries), and my standards arent even that high. This was so below the mark it makes me want to vomit. Ive never had an experience like this with Enterprise. Go to them. Theyre just down the street and the extra you pay is beyond worth it to get away from horribly run businesses such as this. Save yourself the time, save your mother the mothers day, dont give people who are bad at owning businesses your money. Lakewood Budget, Im disappointed in you.

I have come to this location for over a year and have always received stellar service. I was advised the last rental, to sign an agreement that I would keep the car nice. I brought the car back with some dirt/sand where my shoes would go, and supposedly animal hair was found, but this vehicle was left in clean condition - absolutely no trash, no mud and nothing was said at return. However, we were charged $150 for cleaning. Ironically, it seems management was just changed to a gentleman named Gil. We will no longer be coming to this location or Budget in general if this is how they will treat us.
The employee who helped me about a week ago was absolutely amazing!! Gil Lopez really went out of his way to give me the best customer service I’ve ever received not only through a car rental company but general customer service altogether hands down! Times are clearly really stressful right now for many reasons and the fact that he was so attentive, genuine and caring really made my experience one of the best altogether!! This is definitely the place to rent from if you are anywhere in the Denver area. I am a thorough planner so when I went in to talk to Gil about moving across the country, he was able to upgrade me to a bigger car for almost no difference. Then, when I needed to change my reservation date, he made it so easy. I am moving so far and it is so extremely stressful. But working with Gil has given me a lot less to worry about with his knowledge and assistance.

First of all Gil needs a RAISE! He was so nice and very helpful. He called us to let us know the car requested wasnt available but would give us a SUV instead of the minivan. When we got the car he was very thorough and detailed with a friendly demeanor. When we returned it, he was exactly the same!

Ive rented from several different branches across the front range...these guys did everything right. Pre trip inspection, with notes on things I pointed out. Post trip inspection clearing my liability and extremely efficient. Ten minutes from first contact I was on the road!

Customer service is very below satisfactory. I went to rent a car with my debit card. There is a $200 deposit added to any rental. They did not tell me this. They swiped my card without first informing me they were authorizing for $200+ the amount of the rental. The card was declined because I didnt know they were running it for over $200.At this point I went to transfer money but was informed they can only run a card 1 time per 24 hours if it is declined. So here I am stranded with no rental and not of any fault of my own. This was 100% their fault. When asked what they could do for me the response was nothing, you should have read the fine print online.Terrible service. They really earned this 1 star review.

Vehicle unsafe had to wait 2 hours to get car after I confirmed then I ordered a compact car got a suv I had to pay out more money in gas. Extremely unprofessional people wouldn’t give me my money back almost broke down on the way to Casper I got no sympathy from budget just nobody tells us if the car isn’t working properly that’s unfortunate I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone EVER

We rented an oversized SUV for a long road trip we were talking with our family. We got there right before closing the process was fast and easy and the staff was super friendly! The car was super clean and ready to go. We had the same experience at drop off. The staff was truly interested in our feedback and the process was so easy. I forgot the gentlemans name who helped me and my colleagues with renting vans, but he was more than hospitable. We were renting vans to take students on a ski trip and he was very accommodating and exceptionally friendly. The vans performed well, were clean, and had newer technology which made operating them easier. We will be sure to go back to back to this same Budget when we want to rent vans again next year!

No pride at this office. These folks double-charged me for collision insurance. They didnt bother to check whether I had bought online when I booked the vehicle online. They just told me that its no their problem that they couldnt see the collision coverage online. Its funny how they could see the vehicle booking online, but not the collision insurance. Then they talked down to me as if I didnt understand anything. Theyre pathetic and crooked! Dont rent from them!
Very much enjoy renting from this location. Robert is awesome and he is very respectful. He has always gone above and beyond in his customer service. He treats you like family. I would recommend this location just because of his loyalty to the customers as well as the company. Somebody give Robert a raise please. He is a great representation of what a representative should look like.

I have rented from the Lakewood Colorado store for about 4 years and they are so friendly and helpful I will tell everyone to go there .
My wife and I wanted to take a nice trip to aspen. We reserved a car 3 days in advance for a luxury car. Upon arrival at the time of the reservation the car was not available and they could not give me a time in which it would be available. I was told I could wait for the car but they did not know when it would be available. So my wife and I went to go get coffee and returned 20 min later. I told the people at the counter I wanted to cancel my reservation, I was not even offered an apology, or a different car... will never rent from any BUDGET car rental again... and I travel a lot... just poor service and customer care.

We returned our rental car at this location, having picked it up in Glenwood Springs. The gentleman at GS knew of our dilemma (stranded due to a vehicle breakdown in Golden) and went out of his way to help us and make the entire process as stress-free and seamless as possible. He knew that it would be so much easier for us to return the car in Lakewood (when we picked up our vehicle being repaired), and told us that he would waive the normal extra fee (a hefty one) for dropping off at a different location. The folks at the Lakewood location were just as accommodating. Gil took the time to verify with the GS location the waiver of the fee, and did it quickly and efficiently, with a friendly and welcoming attitude. Thank you to both agencies for a stress-free experience!
My rental car was towed and due to policy I wasnt allowed to claim it from the tow yard and return it. Instead Budget allowed it to sit there for 7 days and billed me for it. For a 10 day economy rental I was charged over $1200. Im now not able to pay my mortgage.
I waited a week to write this so I wasnt just writing mad but this is the story of when I picked up a car to take on my vacation from Budget Car. I find that on my road trip the car was defective and the two back tires kept on going flat. I called Budget Car customer service and had to ask for a manager to get any assistance. I had to waste a whole day of my vacation for them to replace the car. They told me at this time I would have two days knocked off my rental for my troubles. I was than given an SUV which ended up costing me over $100 more in gas for my trip. When I go to return the car I was charged all sorts of fees that I should not have been such as a drop off fee and a fuel fee even though I filled up the car I returned and of course they werent knocking off the two days I was promised. I was at the Budget counter at the store and still had to call customer service to get assistance. Why they dont help you at the store is beyond me and just plain horrible customer service. Again I had to ask for a manager to help me on the phone and after hours of arguing I finally got my cost down to acceptable but still didnt get the two days off that I was offered. They said I would get that 7 days after my rental. I am writing this 7 days after my rental and just had another bad experience with customer service saying there are no notes to give me anything despite all my trouble. It will be escalated but at this point I am sick and tired of dealing with them.I rent cars often and usually use Enterprise. I have had trouble with a vehicle from time to time but they were always very helpful in solving the problems. Never had to get a manager and the people renting the cars where able to help me and not have me call customer service and talk with someone who has no idea what is going on. One example was last year during the eclipse when I returned the car I just mentioned to the Enterprise employee that the trunk had not been cleaned and was full of wood chips. I wasnt asking for any compensation just an FYI. 5 minutes after leaving Enterprise I was called by one of the employees saying she overheard what I said and knocked half the cost off my rental. That is above and beyond where these guys make you do all the leg work to fix the problems that they created.

Extremely poor service at this location. Double charged me and refused to reconcile their mistake. While waiting for nearly an hour for the employee Gil to figure out his what to do to fix his mistake, I overheard Robert, one of the employees at the counter, talking negatively about another customer that was simply waiting in the lobby while he had money transferred from one account to another. After being denied the opportunity to speak to their supervisor, and the local staff being so incredibly rude, I was finally able to get the additional funds released days later by talking to a representative for yet another hour of time. Placed a dispute on charges to credit card in order to be refunded the additional $400 they overcharged me in this process. RUN from this location!!

Everything is set up to charge you more wherever they canFor example I am an AARP member I had to specifically ask about the extra driver to be notified that it was free service with my membership. Next example I rented a Tahoe for five days they charged me a weekly rate The rate was the same whether I took the car for five or seven days no one told me this. but When I wanted to keep the car for an extra day because I actually rented it for a week. But I originally asked for five days no one told me I got two extra days for the same weekly rate so when I wanted to keep the car one more day they would’ve Charged me for an additional day so I lost two days on my rentalI will never use budget again!

We reserved a rental with Enterprise nearby and drove an hour to that location only to be told we need to produce two paid utility bills to run our credit, which they said nothing about when we made the reservation. After being told youre free to leave by David at Enterprise, we drove here with no call or reservation.Gil tracked us down a Jeep Compass and got us to within a few dollars of our Enterprise quote after we explained out utter dismay at the poor lack of service Enterprise gave us. He got everything ready while we got lunch nearby and Im really grateful for his professionalism towards us when we needed it the most. He saved our vacation to California and I wont forget that. Gil is the manager and is an absolute jerk. He clearly has no customer service. And has a horrible policy that states you can only swipe a debt card once and if it declines for any reason you must wait 24 hrs until you can retry ANY CARD.
Terrible, extremely poor, and passive aggressive customer service from Robert, the manager. He just lost a 3 year, loyal and local customer by making me top off 80 cents worth of gas, which I just filled up 4 minutes ago and 4 blocks away where I even waited for the gas pump to click off twice. This all occurred after Budget rearranged my weekend getaway by not having the car I reserved in advance - by the way Ive now had to delay two trips due to this Budget Rent A Car (by Sears Auto in Westland Town Center, Lakewood Colorado) not having the car I reserved on two separate occasions. You would think after their major foul up on Sunday that they could cover 80 cents on gas and not waste my valuable time (and its not the 80 cents I care about but the time wasted having to drive their car to go fill it up again to keep the Budget-fuel-cop happy). Got time to waste or want to be belittled by the counter agent, rent here. Want to drive around with an extra can of gas just in case you happen to run into Mr. Fuel Cop Robert, rent here. Otherwise, there are many options in the area. Common cents says gaining 80 cents but losing hundreds to thousands of dollars in future business is not business at all.

This is the WORST experience I have met during the past several years. The manager Robert lied that I returned the car lately and overcharged me for another 3 days. I returned the car after hours, which he agreed before I get the car, and he insisted that he cannot find the car. Actually, the car was parked in the designated parking lot. Will never have any business with them.
They called me 25 minutes before I was due to pick up a car, to tell me they had no cars available. Totally worthless place that overbooks and cancels last minute.

I have been doing business at this Budge location for many years, and the service has always been outstanding.
Refused to rent the vehicle I had reserved months prior as I did not have a credit card. Website says debit cards are accepted with 3rd form of ID which I possessed but they did not offer as a solution. Try getting around halfway across the country without a car. Budget has ruined my honeymoon and I hope the worst for them as a result.

I have had nothing but problems since i rented my car from budget. The first time i called the manager was very kurt, non apologetic, and very rude. There are so many hiden fees and the specialist are not informed and if they are they dont help you. DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET RENTAL CARS. I will be sure to take my business some where else.
