I believe the Gentleman at the front deskname was Chris. He created me as I entered the building, very professional, and eggar to take care the needs of my vehicle. He check to see if I needed to have a front end alignment (if the service was needed, he would send me on my way). The alignment was needed and he took the time to explain the maintenance that was performed on my car. Also, I noticed that every customer that entered the building was created with the same professional manner. If the Gentleman is not the boss, promote now and give him is own shop!!

They were fast, yet thorough. They gave my car more of a service than I was expecting. They werent out to nickel and dime for extra charges, but to ensure my car was in the best shape for its year. I am definitely going back for any future services

#1 this is the cleanest garage Ive ever seen. #2. I took my car there to get a headlight replaced but it turned out to be just loose so they didnt charge me for fixing it. And Ive been in there before waiting on a car repair and I saw other people get no charged on minor problems. I think thats pretty darn cool. This is a friendly little neighborhood repair shop. And the mechanic there is good, has all the tools and can fix anything.

This place is awesome! Honest, caring, and skilled service. I have had numerous issues with an older car and they are my go-to specialist every time. In early COVID, my car broke down in the middle of an intersection. I had my car towed to their office, left my keys and phone number in the drop box and they called me first thing in the morning. Water pump ordered and fixed by the end of the next day. Recently, my exhaust smelled like gas fumes! Another service provider had left my oil cap off and oil had sprayed all over the engine. They cleaned, replaced, and refilled quickly and kindly. Thanks Automotive Specialist!

We moved from out of state and needed my vehicle inspected to get Texas license plates. I was so impressed with the clean lobby and friendly, professional manager. There are places that provide the same services much closer to our home. However, we will be going to the Lakeway location because of the excellent service.

As always, the staff was incredibly friendly, the cost was beyond reasonable, and the guys had my car ready in less than 2 hours. I went to the Lakeway location this time, but it made no difference! Same atmosphere and experience. Solid business!

I brought my sons car here to fix an issue with the shifter. They did a repair that initially worked, but for whatever reason didnt take as the issue came back. After further investigation, they determined that the shifter needed to be replaced, but the shifter part cost a bit more than our investment into the repair up to that point. When I expressed to the manager (Doug) that I was disappointed that a repair was made that didnt correct the issue, and I wasnt too happy to essentially pay for a repair that I had already paid for....he did the right thing and replaced it without charging us anymore money. I will say that is a very standup company that stood beside their work, even if it cost them money to make it right. I will gladly continue to use this company.

Based on the estimated time when I made the appointment, I was prepared to wait 60-90 minutes at the shop. I was delighted when my car was done in 30 minutes!

Excellent repair and maintenance. Jim does a terrific job in explaining clearly the problems with your car and what it will take to fix them. And the final bill has never been more than he said it would be.

No one likes having A/C issues during the hot summer months but Austin Automotive Specialists were able to get me in quickly and had the issue diagnosed within an hour. I felt the price to replace the compresser was reasonable (compared to other businesses) and they had my car completed within 4 hours. I appreciate their professionalism and quality of work. I trust them to do work on my car.

I went in for a scheduled 8am oil change appointment. Eddie greeted me as I entered and they changed my oil and wiped down the interior when they were done. I was the only customer in the waiting room and was able to mute the tv and read. The building is clean and smells nice and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable . I will be back.

They checked out my dead battery, decided it was defective, and because it was still under warranty, installed a new one at no charge.

We took Mercedes ML400 in with brakes issues and Jim was able to diagnose the problem immediately and was extremely helpful in explaining how to fix what ended up being the brake rotors. They were able to replace all rotors and return on the same day!! Now runs/brakes as good as new! Awesome Job!

After reading the great reviews I had high hopes for this shop. They are certainly charging top dollar for their services but decided to give them a try as they seemed to do quality work. I brought my truck in for Full synthetic oil change, Transmission exchange, and rear differential fluid exchange. When going to pay I asked for the discount special that was listed on their website and they refused to honor it saying that it was only for Transmission fluid flush and not exchange (Discount clearly states fluid exchange as seen in picture from website). They also refused to honor the promotional discount for the differential fluid. Why bother posting promotional offers if you just refuse to honor them when at the shop. This shows to me they cannot be trusted and if they wont honor their own promotions what else are they doing in the shop that you cant see? Even though service was overpriced I still would have given them a decent review if they had as least simply honored their own promotion.

These guys are awesome!! They are always informed of maintenance needs, considerate of cost and do great work! They will even let you know if there are open recalls on your vehicle!! Highly recommended!

I came In for a vehicle state inspection. The inspection was completed and I was out of there within 15 minutes. I was able to complete the state registration renewal process online with the uploaded inspection results within the hour. Thank you, Austin Automotive Specialists.

My check transmission light recently came on. Most places were closed and I pulled into Lakeway Austin Automotive. The manager, Jim, was still there along with one of his mechanics. My Honda only takes special “Honda” fluid which had to be ordered. Jim could have easily said they couldn’t help me until Monday. Instead, he searched for some of the Honda fluid in his store room and found two quarts left over from a previous job. It was enough fluid to get me on my way.I asked “how much do I owe you?” Jim replied no charge-we had the fluid sitting on our shelf. I’ve always heard this place gave excellent customer service—my experience is proof!

Jumped right on it, figured out the problem, and fixed it quick! My ONLY issue was the just over $400 labor on a 3 hour brake job! With parts on hand, an “old school” drum brake job, isn’t three hours by ANY stretch. Tear down, clean up, reassembly, bleed system 1 1/2-2 hours max. for most anyone. Truck stops better than ever though!

Jim (Manager) and the group at Austin Automotive are fantastic. I brought my Tundra in for rear brake work. They did the work but the vehicle shook when coming to a stop. They replaced the parts again under warranty but called and Jim stated it was still not right. They continued to work on the truck over the next day until it was working perfectly. I woke up to a dead battery in my car. Called around, most places either did not have my battery in stock or could not get me in until next day. Austin Automotive Specialist had my battery and got me in right away. They were super professional. Checked out all of my electrical system, changed out my battery and got me back on the road very quickly. The price was very competitive. I highly recommend giving them a try next time you have issues with your vehicle.

I was highly impressed with this shop. I have dealt with some shady car shops in the past. This first one in awhile I have felt is honest and trustworthy. Jim clearly explained what was wrong with my car and gave me options. It was fixed correctly and in a timely manner. I wish I could leave a zero star review.Doug at the counter was polite enough, and a lot of this was beyond his control, but . . .I went in to get an oil change and a state inspection. Computer for the state inspection was down. When will it be fixed? More than week. So, oil change and a couple of other things. Im already here; Ill get the inspection another time. How bad could it be?I was the only customer, and I was there for four hours.One of the mechanics left a dark stain on my upholstery from his grease-soaked beanie. Another technician doused the stain in a chemical and tried to rub it out. He ended up pushing the stain in deeper and leaving the upholstery frayed from the abrasion. They then directed me to the place next door (Whitakers Auto Body & Paint, whom I cant imagine would be nearly as useless as AAS). But due to the ineptitude of the AAS, I was told that stain wasnt coming out. Doug called me later (again, props to the guy, but Im still waiting on a solution).Leaving for the third time, I got a low tire pressure warning (they had rotated my tires). They were completely unable to figure out what was wrong. My tires were fine, they said, it must be an equipment malfunction. No, the fix was pressing a very visible button (they directed me to Discount Tire for this, and I kind of felt like an idiot because it was rather obvious, but Im not a professional).So, yeah. I got there in the morning to get everything done in maybe two hours. It took all day, and I still dont have resolution for everything. The technicians are not good at their jobs, and probably used to this sort of thing, Doug sent me to all other places to try to put out the metaphorical fires his mechanics had started. Go anywhere else.

My sons car broke down last night in wee hours of the morning. I called and spoke to Jim and he told me as soon as the car arrives, after being towed they would take a look. They immediatley diagnosed the problem, had the car fixed and ready to go, when they said they would. Jim was extremely nice on the phone, my son said the entire staff was very nice. I dont know anything about Austin, but it sure was nice to be reassured they would handle everything. They did exactly that, and the pricing was fair and not over priced!Thank you so very much! Trust is hard to come by these days, but they have mine. As long as my son is attending college in Austin, they will have all our business for his car!

I have an older Mercury that needs work to keep going. I have used Austins Automotive specialists for a few years now and have been very happy with the way they have treated me. I think their prices are fair and I have never felt taken advantage of. They have earned my loyalty.

Weve been coming to Austin Automotive Specialists Lakeway location for years, and have always experienced excellent service. They never pressure, always inform when something needs to be looked at in the future and when. This weekend we had a situation with the van not starting, had it towed and Todds team had a look. Appeared the keys were an issue, and Todd recalled a possible recall scenario. He called a dealer, they did have a recall, and the dealer was able to repair for free. And Todd never asked for payment on time spent. Its great to have a trustworthy team to handle your vehicles. Thanks, Todd.

I brought all 6 of my vehicles yesterday to Jim Anders for inspections and some repairs. He had my paperwork ready for each vehicle,, one right after the other. His guys worked like a pit crew! Fast & efficient. After ordering the parts & getting them same day, they then installed hood shocks on my Lexus in under 5 minutes, right there in the parking lot! The parts were less than half the price of the dealership. Bring your car to Jim at AAS...you will be in good hands!

1 stars for job done properly. Have been there twice and these guys are ready to rip you off. Any mechanic who is trying to do over-repair or recommending unnecessary repair is an absolute no no for me.1. Rates are higher than market (when they give me quite, seems higher but I had to get car fixed). Crossed check their rates against Repairpal and certainly could have save $150.2. On 2nd occasion, trying to charge me $130 for cabin and oil filter (both were replaced 2 months ago only). Could not explain why oil filter need to be changed. I asked are they trying to replace oil? answer was we recommend to change both, but will not do if you do not want.3. Charged $120 for multi-point check which I think was not needed. My car was not starting so I asked why they did inspection and what they did, reply was we checked battery to make sure it is not dead.Will not recommend these guys to anyone.

Revisited Recently. New management in place. Very nice. Got a warranty repair on one of my cars and went over and above to make it right. Took in another car and they did a great job with the repair. I feel good again about using this location.

Tried to make me pay $150 for full diagnostics whenever AutoZone was able to check codes and locate the problem for free. Highway robbery! Senile elderly people that cant tell the difference between a scam and a reasonable price beware.
