Donna at the Lakeway shop was very nice and very professional. I would definitely go back when I need a repair. Everything was explained and there were no surprises or bogus upgrades/suggestions. Very refreshing.

I only went in for a routine Oil Change and I was very pleased with the staff and the job. Some things are more/less expensive than some other places but the gentleman who helped me, were so helpful and explained a lot. I also like that with my oil change, they did a quick vehicle inspection. They didnt pressure me to get stuff I didnt need done right away and gave me time frames they recommended for other routine upkeep I needed.

The dreaded check engine light came on in my car last Friday. I took it to a closer mechanic Friday afternoon. Yes, it was late but there was still 45 minutes before they closed and I just wanted an idea of what was wrong so I could call a ride if it was really bad. The guy at the other mechanic was very short with me and kept reiterating that I could bring it to any mechanic when I tried to schedule the diagnostic. Heard you loud and clear!Ive used Sun Auto before but its been a number of years so they were the ones I chose to bring it to Saturday morning and man am I glad! They were certainly not the closest but they were definitely the best! From the moment I walked into the office I felt welcome and not like a burden at all! I waited in the office for a while before I went to lunch with a friend and while I was there they kept me up to date on everything going on. He (I really wish I remembered his name because he was awesome!) made sure to explain everything that they were doing and what needed to be replaced. He also gave me the price of everything before performing any work so that I didnt have any sticker shock after the fact. It was so inexpensive I had them also do an oil change. I was dreading hearing it was going to be a several thousand dollar fix but only ended up being a couple hundred dollars. WAY less than I was afraid it would be!These guys were amazing. They fixed my car right up and had me out of there in no time flat! They definitely have a customer for life!!

Initially I called with specific questions (and suspicious of mechanics) Wes was very gracious to answer and explain the possible issues with my car, then invited me in for a free inspection! [Prior to the calling Sun Auto, I had front end suspension work done on my older Mercedes from another mechanic... after 2 weeks, it was returned with additional problems! Ugh]Jason checked me in, sent video of issues they found to correct and repair, emailed estimate and a ride home while my car was FIXED and kept exceptional communication of options. Another Jason, provided a ride pick up service after ONE day of repairs! I cannot THANK Sun Auto Service enough!! They will be my first call with any preventative maintenance or service in the future.

Sun Auto went above and beyond to fix the car window mechanism on my sons older 2007 Ford Focus. All 3 components of the electronic window control ended up being replaced and I only got charged for the one part that was initially quoted. They stuck to their word and repaired it perfectly. Very friendly and a great group of guys. Big shout out to Dave, Jason, and Chance for their quality customer service and knowledge. I would definitely recommend Sun Auto Lakeway!

I went to Sun Auto when my steering wheel started shaking while driving at any speed. I didnt know if it was my alignment, my tires or something else. They were fast, courteous and were able to find the issue quickly.....a tire. I was physically shown what was wrong and all my questions were answered. In response to your response, your explanation isnt relevant. In order to replace the shocks, the springs only have to be pryed out once the bottom bolts are removed from the shocks, and youre replacing those anyway, correct? Springs in, top bolts removed, on top of shocks new shocks installed, top bolts first, then bottoms. As far as the struts go, you would have had to remove the springs from them anyway, correct? My car is on your lift, easiest up-sell ever!! So this job went from 3.5 hours, to 5 for the installation of springs? I assure you, that with hand tools, and a lift, I could perform the work in far less time!! Im 65 years old! You say to contact you for further dicussion. Are you willing to negotiate on your charges? You have my info, let me know. In the meantime, I wont hold my breath!!

This was an emergency situation. Ugly red light came on less than a mile from your store. You were my very first thought! Major cooling issue with my Mazda. You quickly diagnosed, we discussed options. And you fixed it. And with the current situations, you were both kind and accommodating. I put your phone number in my phone permanently. And will start again to save for the axle!

Anywhere where ALL the staff remembers youre name, and they ALL stand behind their work, will earn my business 100% of the time. Now to their insane prices on oil changes.. I drive a 14 Tundra, which holds 9 quarts of oil(double that of normal cars). I have never gotten my oil changed for less than $130, and it has always been changed with crappy off-brand oil. At Sun Auto, I got top of the line AMS oil with my oil change, and they also rotated my 35 tires (which normally costs me $30-40), all for under $100!! Im also having my trashed rotors and pads replaced, and their prices are a good 30% less than anywhere Ive looked! They have definitely earned a Customer for life!!

Buyer Beware - this place is a scam in my opinion. They seem to especially take advantage of women. I sent my wife in to change her oil. We wanted the advertised price for synthetic for $45.95. The limit on synthetic BLEND ($19.95) was 6 quarts - for most small cars. But synthetic was limited to only 5 quarts. Why would they post oil changes using less oil than for even small cars?? Our mini-van takes 6.4 quarts (one and a half quarts more), so I was expecting it to be a bit more than $46. The price - over $71!! Then my wife asked how much for the synthetic blend ($19.95 plus a half quart of oil more). Then the guy said her car requires synthetic. Wrong! The manual only states that it recommends an oil and filter change every 10k miles. We will stick to the more reputable companies.

Good guys. Very helpful. Great service. They will take care of you. But theyre not cheap. And they tend to recommend comprehensive fixes over just get it running so if you are highly price conscious, you may want a 2nd opinion.

These were the only guys who were able to give me a real quote over the phone for a full hard brake line replacement and oil change, and allowed me to provide my own brake lines. I had the vehicle dropped off by a tow truck, and came in later. They walked me under the truck, pointed out possible future maintenance items to look out for, and gave me peace of mind on all other essential systems. They stuck to the quoted price originally, but found that all my caliper bleeders were corroded to the point of non-functionality (hey, they tried), they took pictures of everything as well. This ballooned my price a bit, but it would have been far worse without the management working with me on price/labor. The management and techs were all awesome to talk to, and Id definitely go back. Their turnaround time on the job was quick as well.

Walked in and had same service with prompt timing! Staff was very nice and helpful! Facility was very clean! You can tell the guys pride themselves on there work. They took very good care while be very detailed in diagnosing the problem with my car! Fixed it quickly and had me back in the road. I recommend there services.

Sun Auto’s manager told me that they DO NOT guarantee their services eg I have a new Jeep Wrangler and they destroyed the key for my tire when I came in for a tire rotation. So I went to the Jeep dealership instead and paid $50 for a new key to replace the one they had completely destroyed. Sun Auto’s reply was, just guess. Sorry, but we don’t guarantee our services. So just be careful when you use them. You don’t want to get into the situation I was in. Good luck!!

Took my wifes car in to Sun Auto 18 months ago due to the A/C not working. They replaced the compressor, condenser, etc. and then we noticed right after install that the engine and car were shaking significantly. The compressor was loud too. Took it back in a couple days later and they said it needed new engine mounts. Mind you, the engine didnt shake before they replaced the A/C. Now, 18 months later and the compressor is going out. I take it back, and they say because its past its 12 month warranty theres nothing they can do. I mentioned that I brought it back in a couple times because of the shaking that the new A/C was doing to the car, and how that could have been an indicator that the A/C was faulty to begin with - thus why it only lasted 18 months - and they said they have no record of me bringing the car back in to complain about the shaking. How convenient. They said they would cover the cost of labor, since its only been 18 months, but I would still have to pay for new parts - another $1k+ just 18 months after paying for the exact same thing.UPDATE: Frank, the manager, called me to set things right, and he stood by his word. We have a working A/C now, and we are happy with the final outcome. Sun Auto is lucky to have a manager like Frank who puts customers first and treats you fairly and professionally.

Loved the service I received here. Every time I come they have gone the extra mile (no pun intended) to make sure my experience has been good. I love the cheap oil change (about $20). Although I have not had some of the expensive work done on my vehicle yet that I need to do, the quotes they gave me were very competitive.

I needed a state inspection. The first shop I stopped at told me their machine was down and they were working on getting it rebooted. They would call me. Went to Sun and they had it done immediately and I was on my way. Super nice and professional.

These guys are a life saver. Today Saturday at 5:00PM I go to the driveway and get in the car ready to head off to an important appt.What do I discover? A completely DEAD battery.I rush to my neighbors for a quick jump start realizing its past 5:00PM on a Saturday and there wont be anyplace likely open till Monday. He recommends checking out Sun Auto a mile away so with the engine running I rush over. There happened to be a group of mechanics still hanging around but they had already closed an hour before. When they saw the predicament I was in they didnt hesitate to open shop to sell and install a new battery in only a few minutes. If not for these guys Id have spent hours dealing with AAA and wasting money on a car rental.I think Ive found a new favorite local mechanic. Thanks guys.

Stopped by this morning for an oil change. The attention to detail was great. They took me out and showed me the condition of my brake pads. I had the job done and was back on the road in less than 2 hours. I called two other places for an estimate and they beat them both. I am very satisfied.

Ive been to sun auto twice now and they are super friendly and nice. I wish that my review could stop there. However, the first time i got my oil changed they also rotated my tires for free. Awesome right? Except that one of my lug nuts wasnt tightened completely and fell off. The next time i needed my oil changed a coworker told me they had been so much better lately so i tried them again. I had a deadline so i called to see if that would be an issue and i should just get it done later. I was assured that it was not and Id be out in plenty of time. Long story short they were 25 minutes late.

Frank was so helpful here! He showed me around my car at the stuff he looked at and explained what was going on clearly. I recently had a lot of expensive front end work performed on my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer as well as a front wheel brake job. I had another competitive estimate at the time I took the car into their service facility. I first spoke with Michael Arvizu about the brakes and the wheel bearings. He gave me a good price for the repair. I was impressed with the options that he presented to me. A few days later when I took the car in for the repair, the store manager, Frank Santoro, called me and asked me to come down to look at the control arms and sway bar links that had also gone bad. He made me an offer I could not refuseto replace the worn parts. I felt that I was treated fairly. Everything was clearly explained to me in the presence of the experienced technician working on my car. Since having worked on cars most of my life, I knew they were showing me these issues correctly and that they needed attention. I would recommend this service center to anyone, and have already done so to some of my friends. I hope they receive the same value added service that I received on my vehicle. This was my first encounter with Sun Auto.I hope they continue to maintain quality as their specialty.

I took my car here a couple of times. The technicians are honest. They finish the job in a timely matter. I recommended this place to a friend and shes very happy too.

Keep finding loose or missing bolts. Sales claims bolts missing when car was put back together after accident. A professional mechanic charging top dollar.... a 50 cent bolt properly tightened to specs shouldnt be an issue. I shouldnt have to inspect the work done by professionals to insure simple tasks such as bolts are installed properly. Extremely disappointed at the level of professionalism at Sun Auto.

For the longest time my steering wheel on my Jeep was bent 10 degrees to the left just for it to go straight. I went to the dealer and they replaced my rear track bar and said that not only that but my Jeep would need 3-4 grand more in work for the steering issue to be solved. I took it to Sun auto to get a second opinion and they found that two bolts were not installed on the new track bar that the dealer installed! They installed those two bolts, adjusted my alignment specs and now my steering wheel is straight again. I would highly recommend these guys!

Sun ran a diagnostic to determine the cause of a Check Engine light. They identified the cause (not a loose gas cap), fixed the problem, and had me out the door within 45 minutes. All AT NO CHARGE! Cant beat service like that...

Came for an oil change. Tried to get my inspection done, they told me they would do the oil change but that my car had a bunch of issues and that I needed to get them fixed before they would do the inspection. I was confused because the car was driving perfectly fine, I just came for an oil change and looked in to trying to see if I could get an inspection done at the same time. I declined them doing any repairs to my car, went down the street to Jiffy Lube and they passed my inspection in 10 minutes. My neighbors are right, these guys are a bunch of crooks. Dont do business with them!

I would have rated 0 stars if available. Was mailed a promo oil change offer and the mailing provided instructions for making an on-line appointment. I went on-line and made the appointment. Appointment was confirmed by e-mail. Showed up on time for my confirmed appt and was advised that“ our on-line system is screwed up, I can get you in, but it’ll be 90 minutes.” WOW!!! Get into the 21st century SAS Lakeway. If you can’t handle an on line data base for appointments, can you handle today’s digitally loaded cars? Maybe this was the best thing for me. Your performance demonstrated that I don’t want to take the risk of having your techs get under the hood of my car.

They are good at finding g issues with your vehicle but will not take responsibility if they make a mistake. I was doing my calipers on my truck but could not get it right. I took it to them to fixed and was charged $200 for them to swap out the calipers and refill the brake fluid. A week later the right side caliper came of while I was in traffic so had to tow truck home. I called to discuss with the manager but he said he would have to call back. I never heard back and they hang up when call. My advice get a second opinion or go somewhere else. They are owned by Sun Devil auto service out of New Mexico. I will not trust them with anything I have or anyone elses vehicle I do or dont know.

Wasnt a good experience at all. I needed a transmission filter and oil change on my Vette. Took the car in and they were kind enough to drop me off at my house. This is where the good experience ends. They called later to sell me additional services. Frank, the manager,, said I needed a complete tuneup including new spark plugs, wires, and filter ... I had just done a complete tune up and replaced these items less than 3 weeks before this. Yet they were trying to tell me I needed NEW ones. They obviously did not even look at the plug wires. I could go on, but you get the picture. Ill bet everyone that goes in for a simple oil change goes out with additional services not needed. Dont trust them! And definitely get a second opinion before allowing added services. We have choices as to where we take our cars to. Unfortunately, I wont be using SunAuto any longer.

They reference company protocol but never follow it. As far as oil change, these guys are best in town, would not recommend for anything else. I am $2k in a hole with. Problem that still is not resolved and each time we find out that the guy the previous time, who conveniently no li her works here, skipped a couple steps. No integrity here

Yes, I took my car in on Saturday to get my brakes fixed. The mechanic put the incorrect brakes and parts on my car. My car was smoking so badly that I had three strangers drive by and tell me. Let alone the smell of burning tires was great. On top of that it took hours to fix the issue on Monday because the shop did not have the proper parts. The manager was rude and didnt even offer a free oil change as a gesture of empathy on the behalf of his mechanics ignorance.

Michael Az was great advised me on what I was getting with my oil change told me before time how it wpukd take and it was on point for the time. Me being new to the area this will be my place to go to for a long time. Hopefully the experience would never change.

These guys are the worst. Put on new catalytic converters which were defective and when I took it back in at 7:30a.m. As they requested, two days later it’s still in the shop. Why? Because it’s not a priority. Why? Because it’s warranty work and they don’t make money on warranty work. They don’t update, because they’re not working on it, paying jobs take priority. They’re expensive and got a bunch kids working in the shop. You know the ones who think they know everything.Save yourself time, money and aggravation take your car somewhere else. You’ll be glad you did!

I took my 1978 Ford F350 dually in because of a exhaust noise and a oil pan drain plug leaking. Dwayne called me back around the end of the day and stated I needed my exhaust manifolds resurfaced, (he did not even take them off to really check the surface) so I said lets do Headers. Another day goes by and they still didnt address the oil pan bolt leak. Day 3 and I decided to do the research for the headers because they were not looking and not doing any research. Day 4 still no oil pan info, so i decided to do the research and find whats needed for replacement, they were useless in this department also. Day 5, I found an oil pan replacement and headers for my truck and gave them the info to order the parts. Day 8, they are installing the oil pan and i get a call from work from them in a panic saying the oil pan wont fit. I get off work and rush over to the shop to see. Well they were trying to put the pan on backwards, I said turn it around and it fits. What a waste of my time and stress that was. So i am thinking alright they will finish tomorrow, (NOT). Day 9, I definitely dont trust them now and go in after work to discuss my displeasure. I talk to Dwayne about the problems and states he did not want to here me and i am a pain and never bring him parts to put on my truck again. I told him he was the one who ordered the parts and then marked them up $200 dollars on a $500 dollar item and $200 dollars on a $400 dollar item (headers and oil pan). He then told me to leave his place of business, so i did. Day 13, They said its ready. I picked it up to find the job not complete. The stater was not adjusted, the oil pan was not installed correctly at the dip stick (leaking oil), The headers that they marked up $200 dollars from retail came in bent at the canister and the mechanic scratched them all up and then got them really dirty and didnt clean them before starting the motor so they have burnt in stained and scratched marks for ever. The new oil pan that was marked up $200 dollars was dented and scratched upon installation and they tried to cover it up with paint but its very noticeable. DONT TAKE YOUR OLD CLASSICS TO THESE GUYS THEY HAVE NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND WILL DAMAGE YOUR NEW PARTS, PLUS CHARGE YOU. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO DRIVE BY THIS PLACE EVERY DAY WHEN I LEAVE MY SUBDIVISION. JUST BAD MEMORIES.. BEWARE

Hope you dont need a tire patched an hour before they close because these fellas dont really seem to care. Theyll shake their head and thats pretty much it. Plan your car emergencies accordingly.

I give it a one star for location but for satisfactory work the first time, that will never happen, thats if you want to pay 650.00 labor on a part that costs 132.95 and have to have done again at one year. Strangely, the fuel pump I had on my car lasted 18 years, the one Sun put on lasted 12 1/2 months, but, they only warranty it for one year !!! But, after running the part numbers down, this part from the distributor offers lifetime warrranty therefore, they get the lifetime warranty and you get one year, hmmmmm. Bunch of crooks on the corner.Thus, you have to have another. Its back to the dealership for me, definitely cant trust outside the dealership auto service centers, like this one, anymore. So, all in all... go somewhere else unless you just like giving money away to incompetent shade tree mechanics.

OMG, these guys are awesome. Ive never experienced such customer service in all my 30 years of car ownership. Not only did they fix my baby promptly and get me back on the road, but they worked with me on a payment plan since I didnt get paid until the following Friday.

I had a repair that was suppose to take 5 days max they kept it 11 days then order they wrong parts so it took another 3 days. When they removed my exhaust they just broke it in several places they said it wasnt serviceable . Thats only because they cant weld. This was part of my $5400 dollar bill. I had to spend $400 more at another place to fix it. They could have taken it somewhere but no give it back to me with a big hole in the exhaust and all the welds broken.I took it there because the engine was making an unusual noise,they swaped it now after $5400 the engine they put in wasnt run tested and it makes noise so I still have a an unusual noise in the new engine. Im very dissapointed!

Got my Oil change and breaks inspected. They told me I needed my break pads and rotors replaced and gave me a quote to get it done. I asked if I bought my own parts if they would do the labor to get it done and they said of course. When I showed up after spending $300 on parts they said they couldnt do it for me because it is against company policy. Waste of time and money, dont come here.

I got lucky but their mistakes almost cost me my car and even my life depending on timing.So they guy I talked to was really nice. I waited an hour and 45 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation and while they purposely messed up my car. The service was deplorable! They claimed all the lug nuts on my tires needed to be replaced but when I went to to discount tire (on their request, so I could bring back the lug nuts for them to put on) I was one surprised to find that 2 were missing they just forgot to tell me that they didnt put them back on and the guys at discount tire all claimed I didnt even need them replaced. On top of that I told the man at the desk that I was going on a road trip to Colorado not only did he try to get me to pay some rediculous amount for a 100,000 mile tune up but now that Im back in austin my cars service light turned on and come to find out they FORGOT to put the cap back on my coolant. Im having this place recheck all of the work that they did because of all these mistakes I have found! It may be cheep but its not worth it unless you want these guys to purposely ruin your car so that you buy more services. These people should be closed down DONT GO THERE!! I was lucky you may not be
