Amazing place. Simply cannot say enough. We loved the atmosphere. It is clean, respectful, and great for families, couples, whoever enjoys a nice atmosphere. The turtles are literally down around the ladder into the ocean all the time. The grounds and immaculate, the is clean, everything is so well taken care of. Love this place and will definitely stay again.

Great beach access and decent poop. Within a moderate walk to restaurants and shopping. The one bedroom did appear even smaller then the pictures so it would be best for a max 3 people.

This is a fantastic property! There is tons of green space, very well kept grounds, clean pool, beautiful BBQ area, private beach, and a swim ladder that takes you directly to the local turtle populations favorite feeding grounds! We timed it... It took 2 minutes to leave our condo, enter the water, and be face-to-face with turtles. 2 minutes to turtles! Wow!!!

A small private beach that only people staying here and the resort next door can use. You can see sea turtles everyday without having to pay hundreds of dollars for the tour.

We love our walk out the door hit the beach room, amazing location! Swimming with the turtles is just amazing! Unites are not the most up to date but location makes more than up for it!

I really wanted to give this resort 5 stars, but due to covid its getting 4.The property is very clean. Well maintained. The BBQ grills were clean, the pool was clean.While I support measures to keep everyone as safe as possible. On more than one occasion we were asked to put our mask on when we werent required to do so.The pool only allowed for 10 people at a time and you were not to move the chairs.It made enjoying being outside a real pain and when your in Hawaii, you dont want to stay inside.Lack of beach was a negative, but the abundance of turtles was amazing.If you cant do stairs this resort isnt for you as the 1st floor is down a flight of stairs.

We enjoyed our first time in Hawaii here.

We’ve been coming back for years. The beachfront setting is incredible and the grounds are well-kept. The units are older but in good shape. Sea turtles nap on the beaches most every day. Whale-watching in season is awesome. Tiny parking spaces. Great for couples; not so much for kids.

Nice location and spectacularly kept grounds. Pool area was great. Our condo was a bit dated but reasonably clean and well kept. The crowd is quite old here, so I wouldnt recommend for younger folks looking to do more than just relax and go to bed early. We were warned about noise for playing ping pong in the lobby at 8:30 PM and also for enjoying quiet conversation on our Lanai at night.

Stunning resort - nice and quiet. Pool area is clean and well arranged. Super close to a nice private beach area. Lots of turtles sun bathing close by. Definitely coming back.

While the resort is older, it is well maintained and the staff are helpful and friendly. Pool is lovely, not overcrowded and sufficient chairs. Parking spaces are a bit tight so be careful. Entrances are well marked and easy to get to offf the main highway. Timeshare unit is adequately equipped and bedroom has air conditioning available for an extra fee ( well worth it for 30 degree days). Would stay again.

A little gem hidden among the big Maui resorts. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds, awesome views, and lovely little beach complete with shade tree and sea turtles bobbing about. Choose your unit carefully since theyre all different but stay here for sure!

Great place! Watch out for a surfer-dude named Victor. He may just get you out into a break you didnt think you could handle! Respect this garden home away from home. It truly is beautiful and kick back for what Maui has become. Everything you need on Maui is close by. You can walk most everywhere and leave that car parked. Turtles are everywhere. Look at them and how gentle, trusting and peaceful (even sort of funny as they fall off the reef at times) they are. Emulate this and take that loving attitude with you for the rest of your life! Now that is fun! Great place to stay, but CALL FIRST and make sure that ocean view is where you expect it to be-ask questions & dont just Google it.

Wonderful small resort right on the ocean.The views are unbelievable. Can also see Lanai and Molokai. The pool is one of the best in Maui and the landscaping IS the best.As far as friendliness? Kuleana is terrific.

The location is superb being beach front but it depends on the apartment if you have a view of the ocean or a roof/tree. Window shaker AC in bedroom only for the one bedroom we rented via AirBnB. There is another management company on site too. A few cockroaches lurking in kitchen drawer even though it is very clean. It is an older building so not perfect. BBQ grills facing ocean and nice pool.

My wife and I just returned from a week-long vacation at the Kuleana Escape #313 on Maui and we feel compelled to write a super review. The whole experience exceeded our expectations and we didn’t want to leave. The condominium unit looks brand new and is very nicely decorated with every detail covered and it was spotlessly clean. It has a comfortable Hawaii feel to it.The unit overlooks the pool with a nice view of the ocean to the southwest in the direction of the winter sunsets framed by the palm trees and blooming flowers. We loved the location in that it is away from the big commercial hotels of Kaanapali but close enough to walk to which we did. The beach in front of the Kuleana property is a gathering place for sea turtles who came to visit while we had lunch at the beach. They climbed right up next to us and took their naps. The snorkeling at the beach was quite good as well with lots of fish, turtles, and some other people said they saw an eel.A number of the people we talked to at the Kuleana are either permanent residents or they return every year for vacation. We understand why. We found it to be the perfect place to stay where we could relax when we wanted or to go play when we wanted. Wonderful.

Very dated and in need of multiple repairs. There is only one window unit AC and it was not able to cool down the one bedroom we were in even at night. The location is great and while the beach is small it’s very private. The grounds of the property are well kept and the people are nice, the units just need an update badly.

Had a great stay at The Kuleana Resort. Unit 618 exceeded our expectations. The view from the Lanai was simply breathtaking. Credit goes to the staff at the resort who keep everything so clean and tidy. The grounds are perfectly manicured. Like many others, we will return. Also, I would recommend booking through Destination Maui Vacations. The communication before our trip was prompt and professional. Keep up the great work!

Ive been staying here my whole life, my dad and his parents have for over 40 years. We love it! Perfect place to stay for your Maui vacation.

If you want to experience Maui, this is a wonderful place to stay. The Pacific Ocean is literally steps from your back door. Turtles nap on the beach every day. It is also within 15 minutes of Lahaina. Air conditioning varies, and the resort is older. We left the patio doors open and enjoyed the breeze. It was July, and we were never uncomfortable. I would love to stay there again.

I give this a 2 star rating as the condo was outdated and floors were filthy. As soon as I walked out of the shower and into the kitchen the bottom of my feet were already black. Very poor lighting in bathroom and throughout condo. Bathroom was soo dark I couldnt even see when fixing my hair or cleaning my face. Small beach area but rough water conditions in that area. I heard sea turtles were there but spent my time at better snorkel spots. Otherwise, quiet area. Never spoke with owners so I cannot rate my experience with them. They did email me a day after we arrived about a second portable ac unit for our use and it obstructed the patio door from locking. If we wanted to lock the unit up we had to remove ac panel but the the ac was nice but had no instructions with it.

I’m an annual return renter of Kuleana Condo 616. The ocean front location is The Best. The owner is Always quick to respond to any question regarding rental questions. The housekeeper does a thorough job and the condo is always tidy & clean when I check-in. If during my stay(s) something needs to be fixed or replaced, Eileen, immediately makes arrangements for repair or maintenance.

Very well maintained condo resort. Really peaceful here. Kuleana is bit away from really busy Kannapali beach, so its more calm and peaceful. Property is really old, but is well maintained. Best part about the property is beaches, water is very clear, may see turtles swimming by if you are lucky.Good location, there is a farmer market and ABC store within a mile distance. Few good restaurants not too far away.

Omg!!!i have no clue where to start from this is the most wonderful place ever you are soo close to the beach and its your own clean private beach. If you havent gone here I highly recommend you looking into going .

Sits right on the beach, quiet, relaxing, pool and beach. Marine area, turtles off the beach. Spectacular viewing of the sunset. Minutes from retail, grocery shopping and restaurants. Only thing lacking in the condo I chose is airconditioning in the main lounge. Otherwise great.

I did a moving job for this place that they are renovating to make it a even better get away place there rooms are wonderful they have great gem equipment which I helped move around for them the food smells sooo good I thought I was going to have to ask for hunger pay lol 😂 the staff that I worked with where very helpful in making the job run smooth they are also great tippers they have so much to offer from shopping to eating drinking and sleeping they even have flamingos in the pound area 💯 top notch place now I just wish I could afford to stay a night there with my family one of these days my wish will come true threw hard work Ill be able to experience a great place like this with my family keep up the great job and hard work you guys do there it shows

Perfect location. Walk a few steps to the beach where u can snorkel with the turtles or just watch them from shore. Nice for swimming, kayaking, sup. Condos are small and somewhat dated, but cant beat the location.

I stayed at this resort for 9 days in a room on the third floor right above the beach, best views!! The resort is old school, no frills unlike the big resorts, but very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again any time!

The views are spectacular! Quiet resort, not fancy like down the street but clean and perfect for our needs. Lots of turtles beach here which is fun plus whale views are fabulous.

My wife and I had a blast staying here during our honeymoon. We loved the view, sounds, and smell of the ocean. Only downfall was the parking. It is pretty tight in this parking lot. Other than that, we had a blast. We would happily stay here again.

What more can anyone ask for? Private beach, pool, barbeque grills all facing the western sunset between the islands of Molokai and Lanai. HEAVEN!

My husband and I were debating whether we should stay at a hotel or get a condo. We ended up with condo because of the kitchen amenities and kids. We enjoy cooking so we thought to make dinners and breakfast.From California we brought few items which we needed like spices, coffee, sugar, salt. We read reviews that it provided most of the stuffs but it didnt. Dont take be wrong, this place does have few salad dressing, salt, pepper, vinegar and Panko. I wish it had sugar and etc. this place has great review on yelp and other websites. I really liked the place. My son has lots of space to crawl. And Ed was great at responding to our questions.We saw turtles at the beach. Amazing view from our balcony. And I left the sliding doors open for amazing view and breeze.We have a strange neighbor upstairs that kept moving her furniture every morning and night. We could hear noises.And were close to most of the restaurants and beaches nearby.Definitely a great place to stay which has a fabulous view. You cant go wrong with the view and glass of wine/cocktail watching sunset or coffee for the sunrise.

Stayed in unit 512. Excellent view of the ocean. Even saw whales from balcony one morning. The downside of this unit was that the ceiling fan in living room only works with the light on, so we could not have fan on when sleeping on sleeper sofa. Only air conditioner in bedroom. There is a large floor fan that is very noisy so again we could not use at night. Also, when we pulled out bed it was very dirty. Apparently the sleeper is not used much so they dont bother cleaning between visitors. Another thing to know before renting is there is only shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing and hand soap supplied. It appears that if a previous visitor has left any supplies behind like ketchup or mustard behind it is either thrown away or removed by cleaning person. After having rented a condo on the large island I think we were spoiled as the big island is cheaper with much better accommodations.

We arrived late at night, so late that we had to call the security personnel to and let us into the gate at the resort. We found our room in the dark with no help and discovered NO air-conditioning - groan. Opened all the windows and crashed. I awakened the next A.M., about 7, and my wife was not in the room. I found her on the lanai in tears. I asked what was wrong and she said that the view, the place and the whales she watched in the straight between us and Molokai were too good to be true. I looked out over our small private beach where the giant turtle had crawled out to search for a nest, and concurred. It was older, small and wonderful! We had found our paradise and didnt want to leave for the second week in Kauai. Well be back! Visited 6/14.

Love everything about this place except that its not as family friendly as I would like. Theres tons of old people telling g your kids to turn down the fun in the pool. So... thats lame. But everything else is great. Were here every other year!

Not a fancy hotel, a simple place to experience West Maui from. It is a beautiful landscaped property. I love this place.

This jewel is on the west side of Maui and just north of Lahaina. It is quiet and off the beaten path, so it does not have that tourist-y feel to it. This resort is unique, as part of the property is residential and part is resort. Therefore the board has a vested interest in maintaining the the property and grounds.We stayed in the older section. Though the decor was dated; it was clean, neat and had everything we needed.We came in January and from our balcony we could see sea turtles near the Beach and whales out in the Auau channel. We could also see Lanai and Molokai.It’s currently 2:pm and there are only 3 people on the beach.It is 6 minutes from a Safeway to get supplies to cook out ( grills are available on property).This resort is a perfect spot to R&R or to use as a base to explore the island.I highly recommend it

Kuleana is an excellent place if youre looking for a clean, quiet place to stay thats near the water and with a great view of the sunset. There is a large pool, shuffleboard, 4 BBQ grills, and walk up beach access from the resort. Upon arriving here, we went down to the ocean and immediately saw 4 gigantic sea turtles in the water. We are extremely satisfied with our decision to stay here.

Nicely situated on Mauis west coast, with a small but usable sandy beach. The condo units are maintained well, (at least the exterior), with beautiful grounds. Our particular unit could use some attention to details, like a working wifi, new beach and lounge chairs, bulbs for the lights over the counter bar, and more than three tea spoons, just to mention a few issues. On the plus side everything is clean, the sea turtles literally sun on the beach and its mostly a quiet relaxing stay.

My husband and I have stayed here on two separate vacations and two different condos. Weve enjoyed each one to the fullest. The location, the manicured grounds, the beaches and sunsets, its all no ka oi. The condos each have all the necessary amenities and are very comfortable. Were looking forward to next year.

The room was OK. It wasnt what I expected. The view, pool, and what I like to call the wall bed was not bad. We have beach and other islands or mountain view. Either than that it was a great experience.

Very intimate place to stay!!! Please make this your home while in Maui.

First, this is not a big shiny new complex. The structures and rooms are creeping toward vintage status. So, if you have the wherewithal to stay in Wailea Point or the FS, this isn’t gonna be for you. But, if you are on Maui and aiming to conserve your bank account, then this is a fantastic option. Beautiful grounds, saltwater pool, and amazing location, with grills overlooking the ocean. Depending on which unit you end up in, based on these other reviews, your experience may vary, but we found a nice albeit space-challenged week-long rental for an amazing per night price that accommodated 2 adults and a 4 year old with Aloha. Our large group arrived a week later, so we moved to an upscale rental house on the water in Kihei, and, to be honest, the Kuleana was just as satisfying to the soul. Don’t overlook it!

Its awesome to leave your window open at night and hear the waves crash against the rocks just outside the lanai. You can see the islands of Molekai and Lanai from the condo. The parking spaces are tight, so leave the Chevy Suburban at the rental lot.

Lovely beach just down the slope frope our room. The sound of the waves helped lull us to sleep each night. The only negative was the lights they kept on fro safety on the paths around the resort.

The owner is very rude and unfriendly... The owners stay at the property and you are unlucky if you get a room around them ... they are often seen policing and telling parents how to control their kids and threatening to call cops on them ... they have a problem with “noise”... she yelled at my son and wife for no reason leaving a unpleasant and traumatized experience . My son was crying and he often asks why she was so mean to him.. for god sake this is a vacation home what the hell do you expect ?

These units are clean and well kept. Grounds are beautiful and usually the beachs are nice. Lots of turtles and whales. Close to many good restaurants and grocery stores. Farmers market is just up the road.

We are still here and it is lovely. Had coffee on the lanai and watched the surfers. Such a great.

We have stayed at unit 208 twice now and we love it here! Awesome views from the lanai to watch sunsets and the ocean. The property has a nice clean pool and private beach access with great snorkeling. You will see turtles and other fish within feet of the shore. The condo unit itself is updated and fully stocked to make things easy. It is mostly an open air condo but there is an ac unit in the bedroom to make sleeping comfortable. Free wifi and cable tv make it feel like home. Owner has beach chairs and some other beach equipment so that helps not having to rent them. We hope to keep coming back to this unit and property!!!!

I was booked in unit 108 thru Sundance Vacations and absolutely loved the unit it’s location and the property. The pool was welcoming the property was super clean and the turtle and birds were everywhere. The location is a stones throw away from the upscale resorts and a local farmers market- so I could choose between eating out or cooking in. I loved having the convenience of a full kitchen with granite countertops. there is always a cross island breeze so having one air conditioner in the bedroom is enough. Each unit also comes with a large standup fan for additional air as well as ceiling fans in each room. I rented s car at the airport to explore the island and always enjoyed coming “home” to my unit at the end of the day! Aloha!

Unfriendly Hawaiians

It was nice, quiet except for the road at night. The only bummer was no spa. Staf was verry helpful.

The only thing I liked about this resort is the activities you can do like tennis, ping-pong, and the pool. Or else, the room I stayed in was pretty bad. You had to pay for the AC, and the rooms were pretty bad as well.

Awesome stay here for about 8 nights. Good price, great location, incredible sunsets and turtles everywhere!

Its beautiful to wake up to see the Island of Molokai n Lanai And Molokini

On Maui in Hawaii and right on the beach...some units and property are a little dated, but the location and ambiance make up for that. Sea Turtles swim everywhere and come up to sun themselves. The Snorkeling is a blast with easy access and the fishing is awesome for the resident reef fishes. Set anywhere and watch the Whale offshore (with good Binos, they in the room with you) as they jump, broach and flip you the fin... I have to give a huge Mahalo to the Kuleana Resort grounds maintenance, every friendly especially when asked the names of the local plants and foliage, which I managed to actually pronounce after a few attempts. The rest of the Staff was great as well. Lots of good times and the repeated intake of Adult POG made for a extremely laid back vacation. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say, Ill be back!

Our 8th trip here, awesome, quiet and has an excellent pool for lap swimming!

Fully updated suites, Beautiful view, nice warm pool🏊, gas BBQ grills, 2 little beaches 🏖to snorkel and boogie board🏄 and great place to eat/have a cocktail 🍣🌮🍕🍔🍻near by.

Great rental, easy access to pool, tennis, and private beach. Location is amazing, close to everything with excursions (tours, whale watching, snorkeling, etc) all less than 5 miles away.
