I have gone here for about a year now. Till today I have been happy with the service. This is a very expensive mens haircut place. Today I got the “barber shop” cut. 14 minutes. On my way out I asked to please not have this lady cut my hair again. Unfortunately I do not have her name. I have more hair on me than she cut. Did put in or ask to put anything in my hair to hold it. I would still go back to this place but a second experience like this and I would be done

Friendly TALKATIVE attendant. Unfortunately she focused more on talking than cutting my hair properly. I have thick straight hair, which I pointed out when making the appointment. She said she was done but never thin the tips so the hair would blend. Looked chopped. Also had me leave with damp hair.

Refinement (touch-up) was a great; quick, yet expertly done with attention to detail. Comfortable salon & Mona always shares a friendly & upbeat vibe. I got the shaving on the back & sides of the neck, which always refreshing! Make sure to ask for the heated, warm-water-soaked towel before you are done for a refreshing finish & pleasant aroma.

Refine Mens Salon is a level above my last hair place in Irvine. I just moved to Aliso Viejo and I am excited that theres such a nice mens hair place nearby in Laguna Niguel. I already bought the level 1 package, which is 6 haircuts/6 touch-ups for a price break - It works out to approximately $5 off per cut.A couple of observations for those considering:The place serves beer/wine/soda if you want to grab a drink prior to/during your cut.Each stylist has their own booth that is standalone. Theyre essentially cubicles with only two walls, so you are open to the larger room but it feels like a personal experience for the most part.

I really like going here. Relaxed environment. Drinks at the door. (Coffee, soda, beer) The woman at the front counter is really nice and attentive both on the way in and out. I go there to see Vivian, and I like how she does my hair. I have never been one to go to the same place again and again but this place has earned it for me. Its a tad more expensive then barber shops or a generic haircutting place, but the increased cost is worth it. Will be going here till i run out of hair. Hopefully not anytime soon.

Refine is a wonderful establishment where I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed. Im terrible at remembering how I like my hair styled and sometimes I want a recommendation. Other places wouldnt really do that. But here at Refine, that was my first visit was just deciding what would look good. And on subsequent visits my stylist (who I always book an appointment with) just knows what to do. Theres a pretty good vibe there as well. Its on the expensive side, but worth it for the level of service.

I’ve been taking my son to Madeline for about 2 years. She manages his cowlicks remarkably well. She does a great job of making him feel comfortable and welcomed so he actually enjoys going. I like having a cappuccino, they provide, while I wait. I even feel comfortable running a quick errand to CVS or Target occasionally. Madeline is awesome and it’s always an overall great experience.

This was my first visit to Refine Mens Salon and i enjoyed my experience. The salon and staff are very professional. Sierra was my stylist and she was exceptional! She is experienced and was very attentive to what I was looking for in a cut. She is a very sweet young lady and made me feel very comfortable. I will definitely be back to the salon and have Sierra as my stylist.

We had a great experience. My teen son is a guy of few words, and the stylist was patient working with him to figure out how he wanted his hair cut and styled.

Perfect spot. Create an app or use mindbody for booking as the website is dated and didn’t have times right. Replace the hair capes with ones that have clear plastic windows so I can use my phone.

I was visiting what used to be my home turf. We had relocated a year or earlier and, as residents of The OC know well, things change... often overnight. My old mens salon was gone (now a Super Cuts or something) so where to go?Anyway I badly needed a haircut and so asked an old friend for a suggestion. This turned out to be a great one, and quite inexpensive to boot. An excellent cut (my hair is hard to cut right and Im admittedly quite picky), a shampoo, conditioner and hot towels plus an offer for a no charge tune up in two weeks. For only 20 dollars plus tip? And in a quite pleasant setting? Wow!I was a mid-week walk-in. They called me a couple days afterwords to make sure there were no issues.

Just hit the salon for the first time as a gamble. Having semi curly hair I typically get butchered, but oh how things have changed. I lucked out by getting Joanna, and walked out looking great. So much so that my wife even complimented my new coif. Joanna is amazing both as a stylist and in conversation. So stoked I made the decision to make an appointment. The place is clean, and even the front desk staff is awesome. I hope you get the same experience as I had.

Lee is the BEST. My Refine Mens Salon of Laguna Niguel has been going to her for a MANS haircut for years now and she always makes him look FABULOUS. Very accommodating with appointment times and an excellent barber and hair stylist.

I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair. I used to go to Supercuts and after several bad haircuts and even the manager cutting my hair wrong I knew I needed a change. My buddy at work recommended this salon. They do a damn good job here!! The place is clean, the receptionist is alway warm and welcoming. Joanna is my stylist here and she is amazing!! I had a commercial that I got a last minute call to film for, Joanna got me right in and made me look like a superstar. She really cares about what she does and is always very personable and upbeat. You are awesome Jo!! I couldn’t ask for a better place to get my hair done. Beard trim and haircut is between $40-65 but it is worth every dollar since the quality is so high. I highly recommend this place!!

I never thought Id get my haircut at a high-end establishment but ended up giving it a shot after years of frustratingly playing cheap haircut roulette. After trying out 18|8 Im incredibly glad I did, 4/4 of my best haircuts have been with them and surprisingly Im actually looking forward to my next appointment/5th round with them. I had never booked an appointment (Although I recommend doing so if youre coming in on a Saturday, last time I popped in I had to wait a bit, it had never been the case before though) so I dont think I got lucky, all the stylists have done a stellar job and were incredibly friendly, but not at all overbearing. Even if it werent for the free beer, wine, coffee or tea, its a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. If you dont want to pay for a consistently great haircut with amenities of a high-end place: amazing service, beer, wine, a massage, before and after hair wash etc, Id recommend going elsewhere. I highly recommend stopping in for a visit next time you need a cut.

Staff was welcoming and friendly, but quality of haircut was mediocre at best. Absolutely no value in a $45 haircut.

Receptionist was lovely and very helpful, however the overall experience of the haircut was severely underwhelming. I only required a quick buzzcut and beard trim but I was in and out within 15 minutes. I gave instructions as to how I would like my beard shaped, which was ignored. She didnt appear capable of doing a proper wet shave. The haircut was uneven and had to ask her to take it shorter. The list goes on and on.I wouldnt have minded if this was a $10 experience but to charge $41 is obscene!Will never go back and suggest others could find actual barbers elsewhere.

So let me start off by saying I hate to get my haircut. From the awkwardness of trying to figure out how to explain to the stylist what kind of haircut I want to awkward conversations about my entire life. I heard about 18/8 from a friend of mine who shares the same view as me in regards to getting his haircut and said to give this place a try. I was immediately pleased to find beautiful women and free alcohol upon my arrival. The waiting room had a flat screen TV and free drinks. After a short wait I was called back for my haircut and Sarah was my stylist. She was nothing but professional and I felt comfortable the entire time. Normally I do not go back to the same place because I dont care but I will definitely return here and I will personally request Sarah again because not only was I comfortable the whole time but she also did literally the best haircut Ive ever had. The place is a little pricey but you get what you pay for and for me, someone who hates get their hair cut, it is well worth it.
